no. just play it like normal. don't worry about min-maxing. there's always some sperg who tells you to play a sorceror for 200 levels before you do magick archer and dumb shit like that. just enjoy the game.

said. Play it on normal, hard is just a fricking hassle, and not worth the extra minimum tiny bonus you get. Literally everyone becomes a hit-sponge and you become a little 1 hp homosexual. Frick that. Play on normal and don't bother about min-maxing. Just have fun and get jiggy wiv it.
I played and beat it on hard on my first playthrough, it really isn’t necessary. only do it if you really want to.
the extra money and extra xp is negligible really, especially when you go into bbi. speaking of which; hard mode makes bbi significantly harder. making the best content hard in a first play through is not good.
Hard gives out a bunch of gold and xp which trivializes a lot of the difficulty. Normal is more difficult than hard early on, due to the decreased leveling and gold income.
Going to bitterblack isle on hard mode from the beginning of the game is more of a veteran way to play. It's like picking master ninja or dante must die for your first playthrough. Most likely you'll just get frustrated and ragequit without figuring out a way to survive.
don't post about things you don't know about. hard is a trash mode to play for the first playthrough, one-shot fiesta at the beginning after that you're invincible until the end-game content.
Don't listen to these weenies. If you don't play hard you won't be able to afford fricking anything in late/post game without shit tons of grinding and it will take ages to get all the skills in a vocation. You I'll be done with the game before you even max out all 8 ranks in two of them, and skills are where all the fun in this game comes from.
I max literally all of them mid bitterblack, you level them up my quantity of enemies killed, so you can literally just farm gobbos on any forest and you'll be set. You secondaries need to apply yourselves.
The fact is that, with a little bit of grinding, you can easily max level any vocation. You just need to be like level 60 or 50 to smoke all those goblins with ease. It's fricking weird that quantity is what raises the vocations, but there it is. Also you don't really need to be in the endgame to visit bitterblack.
idk man I'm killing everything on normal post-game and everything is dropping grapes like candy. Not even like I need it, BBI is perfectly doable by level 60 even on hard.
If you want the cool gear you go through tons of RC.
Hard can be fun in the mid game but the balancing is pretty off.
on the very start of the game you literaly get insta killed by everything and can be annoying.
Hard mode gives you extra xp and gold drops so by the late game you will be probably way overleveled and in the best gear, which will completly break the game as you just slap everything.
I think trivializing the game is an overstatement for a game where you stomp everything at level 100, but the max level is 200. Like 75% of your attack and defense stats come from the gear anyways. At worst you could be stacking a bunch or attack augments(which already got nerfed) and you could just get QoL augments instead. And not amount of being "overleveled" helps you overcome either firedrake frostwyrm absurd damage resistance if you didn't make a character who uses both magic and strength.

No, you should watch a guide on optimization, clipping through BBI moon doors for end game gear, getting double discipline rings so you can unlock skills 2x faster and get to level cap asap w/ assassin for optimal str gains, doing infinite gold farm, abusing maker's finger for fast dragonforged gear, etc.
Tbqh most of the game is kind of shit outside of BBI. Theres traces of what could've been amazing but it falls short everytime. Its a game fans jerk off to conceptually but when you take it for what it actually is its a mid asf action rpg with meme climbing on enemies.
Is hard mode ever fun? Is it something that you just do once and then never again, just for the reward and to say you did, then you go back to playing normal?
Just bought, also interested.

more like 1 hp BADASS
Enemies don't have higher health in hard mode
I highly recommend against hard mode for 1st playthrough. the progression is fricked on hard mode
hard is for save-scummers. This game has an infrequent auto-save so if you're not careful you'll have to redo like 50 minutes of combat progress.
probably best to start with normal. hard mode didn't come out until the expansion

I can imagine the dlc on hard for a first time play through is pure cbt
No go easy mode trust me.
Don't listen to the stinky losers
Hard is only a challenge when you go to BBI and deal with the artificial Japanese difficulty bullshit curve.

actually I'm moronic, quests in BBI hard mode level your character like 20 times.
How well does it run on PS3?
I played it on PS3. It was fine.
>I played it on PS3. It was fine.
Thanks mate
15 FPS when tornado spell in on the screen.
>5fps when you use great magic cannon
its like 20ish fps and 720p and it doesnt have the dlc content if I recall correctly
I played on normal and it was piss easy until the post dragon dungeon where enemies are damage sponges.
Go ahead with hard.

wrong
he's right about vocations. you'll be lucky to max 3 in vanilla

Yeah, let's just wait until I am in endgame DLC to unlock anything.

Do you guys not sell materials???
In hard you get double RC from pawn rentals and selling mats will do nothing for the only part of the game equipment matters.

No, hard is for NG+ because it fricks with the progression
I think you get harder enemies and more gold (like shitty wolf or orc can drop 10,000 gold very often), just go normal on first playthrough.
All these threads ever care about is the age of your pawn. It better be a 10 year old girl.
