>amazing looking world
>all you do is combat and ride a horse
truly incredible game
>amazing world
>all you do is play the amazing game
Yes...yes. Indeed. But you forgot incredibly amazing exploration and the best rpg mechanics, but you wouldn't know that without playing the game
x1 Arteria Leaf has been deposited into your account.
Everything you get is useful, literally everything, most games 99% of what you pick up is garbage. Plus they couldn't make everything a valuable item, it would desensitize your reward circuits, you have to troll the player a lil bit bubbas
>Everything you get is useful, literally everything, most games 99% of what you pick up is garbage
If you dont use magic, the mage towers are worthless
If you dont use ashes, the catacombs are worthless
That's like 50% of the open world content
Tons of caves have consumables or materials as rewards, who fricking use that shit
Only Black folk waste their time crafting some grenades like this Black person
>Waste your time
Item crafting can be as quick as it takes to switch a fricking talisman you subhuman
>If you don't use magic, mage towers are worthless
Three entire stat groups are dedicated to magic, that's enough to validate their existence. Having slots be regulated to a status similar to pyromancies is better than the moronic attunement stat.
>Catacombs are worthless if you don't use ashes
Catacombs often have weapon and Talismins.
>Three entire stat groups are dedicated to magic
Honestly it's a bit deeper than even that. Since virtually everyone plays either a pure build or a two stat hybrid, ER effectively has 15 total builds. Of these, 9 want memory stones. That's more than fricking half. 60% of players have a reason to visit mage towers.
Yea, builds I've done so far:
> STR
> ARC/FTH
> INT
> SONAF + Golden Order Seal (INT/FTH)
> STR/DEX
> ARC/INT
Plus it takes like ten minutes to do almost all of the towers. There's only a couple that are kinda out of the way
Yeah and the only tower that even takes more than like a singular minute to solve is the one that houses Ranni's Dark Moon anyway and if you're playing a build that's not using any magic/incants you're for sure knowing they have nothing interesting for you by that point.
>If you dont use magic, the mage towers are worthless
That's being disingenuous as frick. FTH and INT builds both want to hit up mage towers and both ARC and STR builds easily splash FTH shit in due to the DCS and CMS. Even if you're doing pure STR, DEX, or ARC though who fricking cares? The mage towers are a small blip on a gigantic ass map. What the frick are you expecting anyway? For every piece of loot to have relevance to every build ever? That literally cannot happen, you're asking for a fricking impossibility.
Mage towers are literally all just a short puzzle segment you solve once and are done with.
Yes? And? What's wrong with that? They are a small little puzzle that gives you an appropriately thematic reward. They're fine.
>Oh boy! I sure hope this MAGE TOWER for MAGES has something for my unga bunga Guts RP build! The last 3 MAGE towers only had stuff for MAGES but maybe this one will be different!!!
>WTF ANOTHER SPELL/MEMORY STONE?! THIS IS BULL SHIT! DID THE PREVIOUS OWNER OF THIS MAGE TOWER EVEN GO TO THE GYM?!
Frick you're dumb.
I like Elden Ring, but man I cannot in good faith support this argument since perfumes are for little b***hes and 70% of what you get is perfume mats among other things which nerf the game.
There's hardly anything of tangible value in the world except for boss fights and dungeon crawling, and while those can be rewarding by themselves it would be nice if they could give you an option where you could forfeit those useless items in exchange for Runes beyond just the paltry 1-3 that you get for selling them.
>But you forgot incredibly amazing exploration
Not in the open world lmao
That shit is the same as every other ubisloppa game, but with no map
The legacy dungeons are tight tho and truly peak exploration
But yeah the world looks pretty but its pretty shallow
>the world looks pretty but its pretty shallow
That's how it always is. The next step in the open world genre should've been adding depth but then far cry 3 hit it big and the peak of the genre is climbing towers and clearing copy paste bandit camps.
and yet Elden Ring has the best open world, I bet you feel stupid now don't you
*sniff sniff*
smells like....
SMELLS LIKE PUSSAY
> I bet you feel stupid now don't you
huh nyo, the open world is not a negative but its far from the top tier kino content some people shill it to be
I would trade all the open world content for 2/3 more legacy dungeons
>the best rpg mechanics
Like what? I haven't played it, I assumed it was like Dark Souls and just ignored it. This one is an actual RPG this time?
NTA but kinda. Imagine Dark Souls but with an open world, really pretty graphics and bright striking colors, and like 20% RPG flair tossed in (other Souls games have 0%). If you go in expecting a standard open world RPG you'll be disappointed, but if you go in expecting an open world Souls game with more RPG touches than usual and a world that isn't just gray everywhere, you'll have fun.
>an open world Souls game
Oh ok yeah that's what I thought it was from the beginning. Thanks anon.
No worries, it's not for everyone. That said I hate Souls games and love Elden Ring, so if you ever get bored or see it on sale I recommend giving it a whirl.
>That said I hate Souls games and love Elden Ring
I have a huge backlog, but with that statement maybe I will put it on the list.
>all you do is combat
Fricking this.
I'm so tired of open world games where the open world only exists as a place for you to kill things in.
pussy
Don't waste time making an open world if you're not going to let the player do anything in it.
>I'm so tired of open world games where the open world only exists as a place for you to kill things in.
What the frick do you want them to be you fricking idiot? In an open world game there's only two real options:
>Murder simulator
>Light murder simulator featuring annoying puzzles
Fricking pick one. There's a reason open world games without the murder simulator like No Man's Sky bombed so hard. The ONLY game to go beyond this is fricking Minecraft which only works because the entire game is just fricking Legos and honestly there's an argument for Minecraft being a murder simulator too.
i wish you had a little town that adds new npcs as you find them, and it turns into a thriving little place as you you progress through the game.
What else are you gonna do, pick up rocks to collect literal shit? Put the square block in the square hole?
Yes, you character was literally exiled from the lands between because they're nothing more than a warrior who only understand war.
Describe it. Your blast.
Name one single thing elden ring did better than Dark Souls 2. I’ll wait
Feet texture quality.
Looks better
Better music
Enormously better story
Better level design (not that DS2 was particularly bad in this regard)
Charged heavy attacks
Not requiring fricking consumables for infusion
Horse
Much longer
No soul memory
Better characters
About the only thing DS2 did better than ER is having a much less moronic weapon upgrade system, and being more open to sequence breaking.
More weapons, more feet, more cute girls, nonlinearity, etc.
I have hundreds of hours in ER, there's nothing left for me to do in it until the DLC. I have no idea how anyone can still be playing it when even I have nothing left to do. The PvP isn't particularly enjoyable, not enough for more than a few dozen hours of enjoyment anyway. Once you've played all the fun builds the game has to offer there's just nothing left, and that's fine. Play some other games too anon.
I can't, my mouse always homes in to elden ring, I tried playing other games, but they just make me want to go back and play elden ring
>another copy pasted cave/mine/tomb
>another "boss" that's just a regular enemy
>another useless item as a reward
>another copy pasted cave/mine/tomb
>get jumped by an enemy that was clinging to the ceiling
Didn't expect that, huh motherfricker
>another location to invade shitters at
Yeah we all played Elden Ring 2 years ago buddy.
We've moved on and enjoyed new things, including Dragon's Dogma 2.
Perhaps you should try doing the same, maybe then you will stop being so depressed and going online to seek validation.
Not OP but I have 1809 hours in ER and after 121 hours in DD2 I'm already done with it completely. A shame too, I thoroughly enjoyed DD2 but it has almost no replay value. You do like two runs of the game and then there's nothing left to experience. I wish it had more content.
>1809 hours in ER
brain damage
No? I just play video games in my free time and ER had a lot of content to offer. I haven't actually touched it in several months, nothing left for me until the DLC.
Everything you said about Dragon's Dogma 2 can be applied to Elden Ring.
You might be driven by PvP autism, I don't know, but playing that amount of Elden Ring is not normal and you've absolutely wrung that game dry by the 250 hour mark.
>Everything you said about Dragon's Dogma 2 can be applied to Elden Ring.
I disagree.
>You might be driven by PvP autism
I'm not, funny enough. If you can believe it I've done less than a dozen hours of PvP total. The entirety of my ER playtime has been single player, the game has an incredible amount of different builds you can play. Putting it into DD2 terms, essentially each weapon type is effectively it's own vocation, but there exists different skills within each weapon type further breaking down that into even more "vocations", you can do two runs with greatswords in Elden Ring and have an entirely different experience based on what ash of war you use and if you're pairing it with any spells or other weapons or whatnot. Compare that to DD2 where you have only 8 vocations (warfarer could technically break down into more due to all the combos, but imo trickster being as half-baked as it is kinda negates that a little, but still the argument is there). Anyway, this would mean you can logically do 8+ runs of DD2 but there's a problem, augments. A bunch of these are mandatory for differing vocations, so by the end of your run you've likely played nearly all of them already and on your second go you'll just pick up the ones you didn't. As a result ER can be played through dozens of times and still be fresh in each run, but DD2 is only good for 1-2, MAYBE 3 runs before it gets stale. Plus NG+ in DD2 doesn't scale in difficulty at all, further inhibiting playtime because honestly you're just going to get bored when even dragons are dying in literal seconds.
I can understand doing a magic playthrough then a fighter of some kind but anon you must understand that considering an ash of war worthy of its own play through is insane autism. There’s enough here to maybe go through three times for different builds and endings everything beyond that is autism or pvp homosexualry. It’s just not fun anymore after 200 hours.
>you must understand that considering an ash of war worthy of its own play through is insane autism
On its own it would be, yes I agree. But it's more than that. It's not just "I'm gonna do a new run just for this ash", it's "I'm gonna do a new run with this ash, paired with these spells, or maybe this shield, or maybe a crossbow/bow, or maybe this other weapon I've never used before on swap". Variability, it's something DD2 didn't offer me because in that game, the weapons are all just stat sticks and nothing more and each vocation aside from warfarer is restricted to using only one. Don't get me wrong, I'm not shitting on DD2. I THOROUGHLY enjoyed it, in fact I found the combat more fun than Elden Ring's. My issue is I want more from it. ER gave me a ludicrous amount of replay value that DD2 simply couldn't. In Elden Ring two strength build characters can offer a completely different gameplay experience, the same isn't true for two Warriors in DD2. I'll admit I definitely played ER more than most though, I'm surprised at even my own playtime. Most games don't surpass 300 hours for me and ER broke four fricking digits somehow. It's funny because I don't even consider ER my favorite game ever, not even close actually. I just consider it very good.
Unfortunately the game has 12 dragons
Just look at how cool that shit looks
dragon dogshit 2 never stood a chance
Videogames are murder simulators, what the frick do you want?
Mushrooom complainers are moronic. Pry them enough and their argument is everything must be a cool new weapon to justify the "risk" they took following soul glow bait.
Complete morons, the crafting system is not nearly as "useless" as memed.
exactly, this guy understands engaging game design
Mushrooms are used for most damage based throwing pots.
Throwing pots provide elemental ranged damage and scale with many builds. Your Str and dex builds get easy access to fire and lightning damage at range without submitting a weapon to a certain ash.
The corpse mushroom drops typically provide a good amount of them and anyone who uses pots knows how easy it is to run out of shrooms even if you collect them from the environment.
There is a reason they didn't shove Moss, or Octopus eggs or other random shit on corpses. They usually throw high demand reagents or rare reagents on them.
>having a blast
This is starting to become a buzzword or a buzzphrase, if you will.
Checking reddit and I feel like only shills use "im having a blast"

Man what the frick is the point of even replying when I'm not even gonna get a small anecdote about your Elden Ring travels? Solo, PVP, Coop I don't care tell me about your game. The frick you make the thread for anyway butthole. Frick you OP.
I like both

why did they redcon blasting, blastbros?
They finally finished the main story after killing goblins for 150 hours and stopped having a blast I guess.
