I like that the dialogue changes during those drives if you fail the mission
wasn't that only in GTA4?
also GTA V and RDR2
Sometimes you're just in the mood for a GTA game
You rarely have to drive back after you complete missions.
Right. It just leaves you stranded in BFE when everything you want to do is back where the mission began
Which is partially why GTA 5 had multiple protagonists, so you could just switch to a different character if you were stuck out in the boonies. And the spawn points for them when you switched to them were usually fairly close to whatever mission startpoint was available. I remember one time I needed to do a mission on the opposite side of the city where I was at, so I switched to Trevor who spawned sleeping in a dumpster about a hundred yards away from the nearest mission.
nobody cares about the fricking story you out of touch moron, what people like is going on rampages or fricking around with your friends online
I care about the story
read a book
I don't like reading
Watch a movie or something you moron.
Video game walkthroughs are better than movies.
>install game/insert disc
>hold plastic thing
>look at screen
>press buttons/move joysticks
FRICK video games, they're all the same.
The thing that draws me in the most about Rockstar games is the worlds. Nobody is able to create video game worlds as immersive as them. I wish this wasn't the case, but name literally one other developer that really goes as far as Rockstar when it comes to bringing the locations to life. I think about 90% of the development time is spent on creating the world and filling it with all the details that sell it as a real location and then they just sprinkle some missions and a story on top.
>I think about 90% of the development time is spent on creating the world and then they just sprinkle some missions on top.
the map is built around the missions, also the worlds are nothing special when you turn all the npcs off, for example Ass Creeds have much better level design. Where Rockstar shines is the level of polish everything has, they have dedicated teams that work on just one feature for many years
>name literally one other developer that really goes as far as Rockstar when it comes to bringing the locations to life.
Kingdom Come Deliverance.
too bad the combat is shit beyond redeemig
git gud
Literally everything you said still has more gameplay during it than any turn based jrpg ever made...
>Meanwhile in OP's favorite game
>"Go there and kill 5 pigs"
>"Ok good, now kill 5 larger pigs"
>"Great, now kill the same 5 large pigs but collect their dicks"
its better to be simple and be GOOD than to overcomplicate things and be BAD like whatever the other open world triple A games are doing
Nah more like
>go to x to record this female celeb getting railed in the ass to sell to the tabloids
>hold old lady at gun point and steal her car
>drive there while listening to the radio about rich people complaining about how poor people smell like shit and how they should all be arrested
>hit a pedestrian on the way
>"I fricking hate this city"
>get an ad about how your a fricking loser dipshit if you don't buy this product
>"now back to snoop dogg"
>get there
>record the footage
>"sweet dude thanks, here's $200"
>go to the barber shop and spend $100 on getting a haircut that makes you look like a pedophile
I'm sorry that you've just were filtered by this kino
kek
this anon knows what makes gta so fricking kino
Pretty much any vidiya can be boiled down to this. What's your point? Or maybe you have a your favorit vidiya that can't be boiled down to this? Name it.
Shut up Black folk
>hello random person I never saw before, I need you to perform several murders for me, and maybe some terrorism
Driving during missions in the GTA games is blatant padding and adds nothing to the game.
hear me out, hear me out.
crazy idea
but
Radio.

can this shitty medium die already?
The NPCs and the interactivity is the actual glue that holds the game together. Which is why the NPCs off makes the world seem bland.
I think GTA 4 has better glue than 5 since they toned down the interactivity, where shooting a guy in 5 just gives them a heart attack while in 4 they fight to stand up, or getting an NPC in trouble with police can actually lead to an arrest.
Also for some reason I prefer the NPCs reactions in 4 than 5 maybe because 5 seems so fricking boring with how they look, get scared, and run. Every fricking time.
I think that was the biggest reason SA turned me off
Like, VC had the 'big' cutscenes every 6-7 missions and more engaging gameply within the missions
Starting from SA it was more about 'le drive from a to b' which was kinda moronic
SA was deemed as 'it's 3x as big as VC, just buyit!', IV had the police revamp and the driving revamp, V was the 'bro 3 charactesr bro, go pick anyone of them and they'll od their own shit while you don't play as them bro' but in reality it was shit and the single player was ignored completely in favor of their shitty online
Then RDR2 came out and it was probably the biggets fricking failure ever. It was meant to be all about the story but like everything else about it was utter shit. It would have worked better as a fricking visual novel
>Starting from SA it was more about 'le drive from a to b' which was kinda moronic
It was a thing since 3.
