Dropped. It's way too hard. Too hard to the point where it feels like a chore to play. Video Games are supposed to be fun, but this game feels like work.

Skeletroon thread
how do i get good?
Use cheats
you made this thread half an hour ago moron no one cares that you suck at video games
you better have been playing on master to form such an opinion
I did, got up to hardmode and then it became a chore
The game isn't that hard, you're likely missing a step or are unwilling to go into another world to look for some missing resources.
Careful suggesting the notion of needing to make another world for stuff, they'll hold that against you. Besides it's not like you need to do that since 1.4 anyways
>unwilling to go into another world to look for some missing resources.
>game's worldgen and design is so bad that it forces you to play across 5-10 generated worlds to farm shit
nah, thats just bad design anon stop deluding yourself
That's massively overblown, finished a couple worlds without ever switching at all, you might miss out on a couple items but given there are about 2 million other things you can use, it's not at all necessary
How is going to another world part of the intended gameplay for single player?
Maybe if there was a portal system or something that could generate an alternate world in-context for your character.
No player should expect to have to QUIT OUT TO THE MAIN MENU to progress the game.
they should WANT TO, go play something else
There's a reason the game has 2 different evil biomes, 2 different sets of ores, 2 different sets of hardmode ores, and features/equipment that don't spawn in every world. If you don't want to worldhop, that's up to you. You can finish the game entirely on one world.
It's almost like they introduced some form of crafting or alternative method to get that other ore or weapon in order to reduce world hopping.
anti-fun, same reason reavershark is nerfed
can I combine the 9th (both evils) and 10th (better drop chances) anniversary seeds yet but without having pastel paint everywhere (or all the other shit in the get fixed seed)
If they wanted you to keep one character to one world they wouldn’t be saved and selected separately.
it sucks because that terracustom tool was one of my main reasons for playing as much as i did. generate EVERYTHING in a single world and even had params to make the world larger than the game allows. hasn't updated since 1.3 though...
Drunk world gen has everything from both world types. In regular seeds the chlorophyte extractinator can get hardmode ores you dont have and the dryad sells evil seeds for the opposite biome in a graveyard. This USED to be a problem but you can get everything in one world.
>No player should expect to have to QUIT OUT TO THE MAIN MENU to progress the game.
Why not
>No player should expect to have to QUIT OUT TO THE MAIN MENU to progress the game.
Frick you I liked Bravely Second.
The funny part is it does feel hard, absurdly hard, until you realize you have 20 tools you're not using.
>summons (as a bonus if you're not a summon/whip main)
>hooks to move quickly
>optimized platforms
>campfires, bast statues, heart lanterns, heart statues + timers, weak mob statues+timers to spawn more hearts
>a whole range of buff potions
>NPCs do some amount of dmg
>nurse can literally just full heal you in 2 clicks as you run past her
>minecarts + tracks
>dash accessories / kits
>shit like ichor
>sentries
>literally just making a larger arena to give you more space
>etc.
It truly is a game that makes you feel like batman: just PREPARE for each encounter
that's Terraria's signature uniqueness that makes it better than other games, you are allowed to prepare for anything unilaterally.
other games are just get better gear, have health potions, but in Terraria you scultp your personal battlefield, you fill it with machinations, you bring an npc along, you switch between multiple weapons, you drink a bunch of buff elixers, and you can take your friends along online in your world. you have options. it's more than a 'just git gud' it'sa G.I.Joe "knowing is half of the entire battle"
that's annoying.
why doesn't the game just automatically unlock all the achievements and administer dopamine into the brain
>literally just making an arena
ftfy
>pissed off at how sluggish going around my arena during bosses felt
>use the mount you get after killing the slime queen
>suddenly mobile as frick
That was a neat discovery, I thought mounts were just gay vanity shit.
nah, the slime mounts float too
The fast drop from the slime mount is amazing for bosses as well, it gets better with wings.
>play Starlight River mod alpha
>premade boss arenas
>can't even place a campfire
>have to set it up at the border of the area
>arenas are all small too
I don't get it. Why not let the player do minor modifications?
The idea seems to be based around removing your safeguards, and taking you out of your comfort zone. Honestly it's not that shabby of an idea, it just needs work. The real issue is that it doesn't let you destroy grave markers in these arenas, so if you die too much, they're gonna litter the whole arena.
>nurse can literally just full heal you in 2 clicks as you run past her
when the bosses were too hard i resourced to nurse chan to help me
>hopes
infinite inventory
a craft menu that doesn't suck giga balls showing the player the possible craft combinations instead of making the player rely on the guide npc
more bosses
expanded world
>fears
less inventory space
more reliance on the guide npc
less bosses
world with less content
having the princess deal with half of the old one's army (tier 2 and most of 3) is hilarious
damn terraria sucks big poop fart!!!
>it feels like a chore to play
honestly this
even when you know how to cheese the bosses its just grindy busywork: the game
but hardcore terraria fans are minmax neckbeards that love to spend 200 hours rerolling stats on weapons until they get 1 extra DPS so unfortunately that's the target audience the devs decided to chase
Agree minus the difficulty
Having to sort 15 chests every time you go out to grab shit is a massive pain, same faults as DST in that regard
Tip: you can press ctrl for automatic targeting when you mine, makes it much easier.
That's what journey mode is for you fricking homosexual
shit game
Hopes and fears for Terraria 2 bros?
I hope it has a more linear quest system, I hope it retains most of the good content and features of the first game
Re-Logic makes it
Hoping for low-poly 3D chibi art style successfully porting most of the "Terraria" style with cartooney elements similar as seen in Megaman Legends on the PSX and other timeless games of that era

3D
Better world gen so that cave feel more engaging to navigate. I guess a propper mission system or basic storyline would help too but i'd rather them focus on making boss progression more open that the more rigid structure of the orginal terraria.
All of these options are shitter than OP
>red button
Level up and skill tree mechanics completely miss the point of Terraria's game design.
>blue button
Minigames are not fun and just serve to take away time from the main game. Did anyone care about golf in 1.4? No? Exactly.
>green button
Crossovers only serve to take away the game's identity. Nobody likes the Dungeon Defenders stuff and the recent Don't Starve stuff is tacky and ill-fitting.
>yellow button
The only sane choice. The class system only makes you get stuck in a specific playstyle; people often praise early hardmode, where the game is at its most interesting because you use weapons based on utility, not because of an arbitrary choice of gear. Additionally, mods are a must for Terraria. Whatever comes with Otherworld is the cherry on top.
Green for bosses and evil biome not spreading. Crossover is shit but the other buttons are even more useless.
yellow.
classes were a mistake
I'd press all the buttons
>make it 3d
>don't just make it "Terraria with more stuff in it."
>Don't frick it up.
Hope: They actually make the game instead of endlessly updating the first game
Fear: They are not making the game, ever
If it takes them two years to even do one of those endless updates, I'm in the Fear category with you anon.
Hopes:
Better pixel graphics
Every Biome has stuff to do in
No hard mode or at least make it so hard mode still gives you the feeling of exploration.
Keep it mod friendly
No boss rush content anymore.
Fear:
Same as hopes but the opposite
also do the ghost trick and get some good shit from the clouds
do you mean they have fixed it? but they said it would no longer be patched years ago?
The moment a game starts to feel like work you should absolutely drop it. Every mmo i've ever played has been like that. Huge grindy games in general get me there, but not all.
Okay, Redigit. You've managed to make the hardest boss ever. Now what's the next step of your master plan?
skeletroon
Any games like terraria for someone who has overplayed it?
Starbound, uh, but pretend its not shit
Farworld Pioneers
Junkjack
Crea
It Lurks Below
Master of Orion
Planet Centauri
Stardew Valley
t. 2,500 hours in Terraria, 1,000 in SDV
Realms of Magic (sort of)
Did you make a large world to play solo? Because small worlds are REALLY small. You find everything fast.
>Red drops terraria 2, in early access
>immediately drops development on it to update terraria 1 to make it more similiar to 2
https://store.steampowered.com/app/490280/Realms_of_Magic/67
tell me if it's good
It's okay. As far as I know it's a solo dev so updates take a while.
I play Minecraft over Terraria because Terraria is only 2d. Granted, I play with Chisels and Bits, which gives me unparalleled building ability... wait. You guys play these games for the exploration and combat? BWAHAHAHAHAHA
fr fr ong
>Terraria
>Hard
It's tedious if anything making all those dogshit arenas
just play on journey mode then normal or expert if you've got a friend you can play with
Play
Calamity
Get the ps3 version
You're welcome
Is there any Minecraft mod that gives it the kind of "Beat boss, unlock ore, beat boss, unlock ore" vibe Terraria has.
Exploration be damned Minecraft just gives you no reason to get busted equipment
you may like advent of ascension, it doesn't feel exactly the same in terms of progression but it's heavily inspired by terraria
>It's way too hard.
it's made for autistic children, op
yes. hyper focused gremlins with infinite free time and incredible reflexes.
i'm old now.
>Plays parsecuck game
>Surprised when game requires you to parsecuck
Also terraria will literally never have a real final update because redigit can't make good games outside of terraria
>parsecuck
this is a new one and I'm genuinely curious what you mean by it
>parsecuck
It's a term for mmo trannies that care too much about their parses
Yep I was filtered by skeletron too.
what's the skeletron meme? is it just the one autist who makes threads about how hard skeletron is?
No one tell them about mecha skeletron
It was one autist for a while but then it just became effectively a copypasta that just gets rewritten.
The game really isn't even that hard save for master mode where most players will need to actually start min maxing.
Some autist thought the dungeon guardian was skeletron and you were supposed to fight the dungeon guardian instead of just talking to the old man at night.
The only chore is building NPC housing before you have the tools to make it more fun. And storage, good lord is it painful if you don't set it up properly from the start.
meds
That's why I actually enjoyed Journey Mode so I don't have to do tedious things like farm for potion materials or increase enemy spawn rates to make loot grinding faster.
play on journey mode
This game gave me some form of autism and I'm down bad
Can i sex the party girl yet?
Breadth of an ocean, depth of a spoon
more like width of a puddle depth of a sinkhole
the game is by no means expansive or complex its just a series of improve gear to fight the boss to unlock more better gear to kill more better bosses
and sure you can make neat golf courses and electrical circuits but i dont think even 1% of players actually do that
no that's graveyard keeper
how much of a braindead homosexual are you to find fricking terraria hard
Thorium Elder Gods....
Are the Primordials that hard? I thought they’re much more telegraphed than ML
This but when I play For the Worthy/Zenith.
Skeletron on that shit is tiresome to beat.
Daedalus Bow. There, you beat 90% of the game.
i cant even imagine being so bad at video games that i think terraria is hard.
this just isnt the hobby for you anon
Is fishing even fixable? Just about every single fishing mod makes it easier somehow.
what's wrong with fishing?
