You can thank elden ring for that. Companies legit shat their pants in fear because they cant compete for GOTY so they delayed until next year.
Yeah pretty much this, games can't really be pushed into late November due to the Christmas break most companies do. If the game has a ton of bugs and glitches then they can't fix it until January.
What are you talking about, if anything there's not enough time to play all the games I want, it's the best kind of problem!
Right now I've got on the go >Deus Ex >Soldier of Fortune >Morrowind >Fortnite >FFXIV >Noita >Receiver 2 >Highfleet >Cruelty Squad >Kenshi >My Summer Car >Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak >Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin
Honestly it's a massive problem that even spending most of my free time gaming, I can't get to all the games I want to play. I mean I have fun anyway, but I want to have MORE fun than I can physically achieve.

Oh man, this isn't even my backlog, that's basically infinite - this is just the games I've thought about/wanted to play recently.

Hard West just came out
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1282410/Hard_West_2/
I'm a sucker for [non-JRPG] turn based games and this seems to really scratch that itch.
