I've seen people basically say this by going on and on and on about how the game's combat is poorly designed, how encounters are bullshit, how you're not allowed to have fun with the combat, etc.
compared to other doom games eternal is damn restrictive
you chainsaw and glory kill every 5 seconds, you have very limited ammo while also having copious ammounts of health and means to replenish it
the weapon switch speed is so high that you can shoot a weapon once, switch to another weapon and repeat until game beaten, and the rest of the time youre doing mario platforming or hearing shitty lore
as a doom game it was pretty disappointing, 2016 was way more fun

Yeah, I've played the game too moron, you don't have to weapon swap.
I played the game on release before everyone figured out how cracked weapon switching was, and beat the game on Nightmare using the SS and Ballista for 90% of the game, without quick swaping.

I actually don't know how console babs played this game in all honesty. Quick weapon switching alone got me through my ultra nightmare playthrough.
