That he made Kino, which he did. Only consolelets hate Death Stranding.
except the game was just boring.
He just really wanted to make a modern 3D remaining of Paperboy, like Sakurai had done with Kid Icarus.
It was good though
I've always loved weird job games though. Like that warehouse game where you move boxes about (Shove It,I think it was called?) Or the little mini games in other games where you clean, or fish or do odd jobs for people. They are peak comfy to me.
>how is this a vidya, when do I get to murder people???
>All you do in 90% of this game is walk around like a moron. It's genuine a game believe me bro.
>games can only be about violence and action because decades of corporate conditioning have lobotomized me into being an ADHD moron
The combat system in the game is unironically great and very satisfying.
The Director's Cut definitely made it better with the leg-drop and body-slam attacks. I fought Higgs last night and I liked the fight more, throwing a crate at him to stun, then sprinting in and dropkicking him is sick.
You have boxes. Use them.
>WMAF couple in a game made by japs
what did Cuckjima meaning by this
>Cuckjima
You answered yourself
>you can't piss on Higgs after you tie him up
Missed opportunity.
>they just break up off screen a few missions later
What was the point?
if you played the game you would know they actually get together again in the end
Was it in an email or something?
yes
i liked chilling in the bunker, listening to the OST and reading up some emails after a long ass delivery session
i mean the info that they break up is also in an email isnt it?
wtf
If you go back and do a delivery to either of them after they break up does anything notable happen?
this shit was so weird. they portrayed it like they were father / daughter, and then they break up immediately (only to get back together)
pointless mark on an otherwise great game
It's a comfy boomer game
you will understand later
>comfy boomer game
This. Death Stranding is the only game released in the past 5 or 6 years that's even piqued my interest and it didn't disappoint; a good game in the current sea of shit.
>Game of 2019
>Boomer
Buzzwordbros...
It's a game AIMED at boomers, not thrill-a-minute adrenaline junkie zoomers, which is why it was so hated by modern gamers.
>game
> Aimed at "boomers"
"Buzzwordbro" don't make me laugh.
Yes, boomers, in the Ganker sense, are people aged 30+, many of whom still play video games.
Game was actually really cool but the magic fades when you realize how much better it couldve been without the story.
I remember thinking the same thing about MGSV.
>press start
>instantly skip 4 hours of dialogue and continue playing
Gee that was hard.
I'd enjoy it even more if it was just deliveries. The story, characters, and the stupid fricking annoying baby make the game way worse.
The story was fine. The whole thing with Higgs and the extinction entity felt a bit tacked on and unnecessary, I felt having a "big bad" was kind of silly, but I really liked the plot of Sam reconnecting a shattered country and learning how to feel human again via BB and the characters he meets along the way. It was a very uplifting story to contrast with the bleak and helpless world.
I still can't get over how the mc is literally just the hill billy from the walking dead 3d face scanned into the game. Kojima is such a star fricker even for the c list actors who will hang out with him
>I still can't get over how the mc is literally just the hill billy from the walking dead
I've never seen the Walking Dead. Death Stranding is the only thing I've ever seen/played with Norman Reedus in it, and I think he did a good job portraying Sam's character.
Imagine death stranding being your claim to fame when you have actual kino like boondock saints under your belt
Poor reedus
I think The Walking Dead is probably still his most recognizable role, most non-gamers wouldn't know what Death Stranding is.
And its one of the most gameplay filled game on ps4, with very good pro life message.
The message is antinatalist although
Population control is absolutely when it isn't done adhoc, to wipe out an ethnicity or a way of certain ~~*people*~~ being destructive. Same with eugenics, these ideas are fine when they aren't being misued by some homosexual with a long nose and a penchant for being a parasitic termite.
the game is just bad, kojimacucks will slurp hackjima butthole clean
It just werks.
It's the perfect dad game.
>honest work
>cute baby
>scary ghosts
>cool trikes
>jumping trucks
>lifting with core muscles
>cqc with dad strength
>refreshing beer
>keep on keeping on
The game that filtered casuals...
I fricking love Kojima so much
Probably that Euro Truck simulator was a success, so adding actual gameplay would be even more successful.
For once I agree with Dunkey, this game would have been better with far less story.
Just a simple story about a man in a post-apocalyptic world reconnecting America.
Stuff with the EE and Higgs and all that bullshit was so unnecessary and handled terribly.
then it would just be a boring delivery game like everything else on the market
just dont play jap games if you dislike exposition or just keep it to bing bing wahoo westernised shit
Nothing wrong with exposition, but the actual story and how it's told is so poorly done. There's nothing wrong with a more subtle story, it has a lot of great elements and everything with Cliff is great, and that should have been more of the focus instead. Sam's fear of people touching him or getting to know people and overcoming that as he makes friends would be better focus.
A broken clock is right twice a day.
Every single dunkey take is braindead and this one was no exception
dunkey was filtered so hard by this game
i stopped watching his videos for a year because of how stupid his take was.
people who complain about it being a walking simulator haven't played past the tutorial area
In their defense the tutorial is almost the first 10 hours of the game.
If the game is Maximum Overcomf then it works out for me.
Game is fun as hell so idc what he was thinking
I got my job at the post office when I played this game two years ago. Better than flipping burgers. Thanks Kojimbo.
How late do you work?
Sometimes I see post office guys delivering as late as 8 o'clock.
I work the early morning shift, like 4am early. Better than working the late night shift tbh.
Playing Death Stranding during covid lockdowns was one of the best vidya experiences I have ever had, and I am a boomer that bought doom on release
He was thinking raw kino thoughts, and he turned them into a flawless ludograph.
none of these words are in the bible
It's a flawed but pretty nifty game. Here's my review!
The story takes a piss because Kojima isn't a great writer.
The original soundtrack is amazing when used, very effective at keeping with the game's pacing from mundane to action-packed.
The licensed music is fun, expressive of Kojima's taste, can really enhance some moments of your travels but it's mainly home base chill tunes.
The delivery-adventure part of the game is crazy-cool, it takes familiar concepts and mechanics about survival-adventure with its own unique twist on getting from point A to point B.
The "Stranding" game-system isn't as unique as I thought, feels like they took some multiplayer components from Soulsborne games and made more social-media-like.
The rest of the game's minigames (combat and stealth sims, racing, photo-mode, etc.) is entertaining but standard, it's just extra fluff but more than welcome.
The acting and actors are kinda out of place with how quirky the game's setting is, it's like watching Judge Dredd 2012 for the social-economic politics.
The graphics, art direction, general visuals are amazing, it's actually impressive how it looks the way it does and performs consistently well across many machines.
The sound direction is pretty simple but immersive.
The controls are wild at first, but makes sense and resembles Third-Person shooters the more you play it.
>It's a flawed but pretty nifty game.
That's about my estimation, I give it an ~8.5/10. It's good but it's not the LE KINO LUDO FILTER GODJIMA masterpiece that obnoxious contrariancore pseuds like to hold it up as.
An 8 or 7 from me. It's a good game but hard to invest time into after a single playthrough.
The single playthrough enough was fun until you reach the last act.
The last act is satisfying as a conclusion to the movie but not the game.
The story is so separated from the game that I forgot I was a delivery guy by the time the credits roll.
Sure, you have that crazy trek back but they take out everything I enjoyed about the delivery-adventure. The Chiral Network, the feeling of not giving a shit, fricking up mule camps like a Tarkov raider.
I paid for a video game, anon.
>2022 and anons are still showing they are too dim to enjoy Death Stranding.
It's the gift that keeps on giving.
I played the game and skipped every single gay ass cutscene and muted my audio whenever they forced some homosexual Black person song. The game was okay for a delivery sim but for fricks sake the story and the real actors is just such goy slop. If you enjoyed any of kojies absolutely moronic "writing" you could probably enjoy anything
Just go play Ultrakill or DMC if you don't have time to enjoy the small things.
It's not really your game when they have all this but you only dig one aspect of it.
It's like playing Ratchet and Clank for Big Head mode.
