Due to elves not sleeping, can they truly be KO'ed? To be KO'ed is to fall unconscious.

Elves can indeed lose consciousness. It is not at all the same thing as sleeping. They can also be put to sleep via non magical potions and shit.

I understand it is extremely terrifying for them.

      >I understand it is extremely terrifying for them.
      >humans very much enjoy the process as our brains are wired to make it so while it does what it needs during sleep
      >elves brains just go into freakout mode if they are in that situation
Now I remembered lot of undead get the meditation thing too I wonder if being put to sleep via magic means is better for them than it is for elves.

Would being unconscious count as a mind effect? So couldn't elves be highly resistance or immune?

Sleep is death and oblivion, and that's why the fricking Elves despise it so with their trances and everything else, afraid of mortality and wishing to stave off it as much as elfly possible. Those more attuned to the world and the material wish for little more than a comfortable rest at night and safety and food in the day, while the elf is repugnated at the mere thought of sleeping off or taking a quick nap.

    Its pretty kino actually.

Not needing to sleep means elves are better at endurance driving

I just realized how fricking massive an industry magical sleep aid would be.

Like, imagine you came up with a potion today that just instantly puts the drinker to sleep for exactly eight hours. If you sold them for ten bucks a pop you would literally own the planet Earth within a year.

The latest D&D vidya gaem had pic related as a rare consumable item. It was an excuse to allow for mid-exploration Long Rests but the lore text is interesting.

elves are for knocking up not knocking out

They're not even remotely the same. When you're asleep, your brain is actually doing a lot of maintenance activity. When you're knocked out, it's not and you can actually die from the same problems lack of sleep cause if your brain doesn't transition to sleep mode eventually. Anesthesia is a specialized field of medicine because just being knocked out can kill you.

Are there any living creatures (flesh and bone) in a table top game that are immune to being knocked out? You can stun them maybe, but they will never fall unconscious. That would make for a interesting encounter.

Ooze? Though, those don't have bones...

Really, the question is "are there any living creatures that are both a threat and lack a mind". So Ooze, Fungus, maybe Plants?
