decided to finally play through wizardry and already level 3 and the dark portions in level 1 are wringing my spirit dry. how the frick do I get back via the elevator when I go into the one way door section of level 1? there's a key in there I need but the elevator takes me to sections of levels 1 through 4 that are cordoned off from the rest of the level so I can't get back
Don't even bother, you'll do all that leveling and then get unavoidably beheaded by ninjas on level 2.

have you guys been crawling any dungeons lately?
I just finished m&m 2. It was pretty good but not as good as 1. The final "dungeon" really pissed me off and once I found the 200 stat boost fountain the game got too easy.
It's kind of sad but other than obscure ass titles in untranslated meme European Languages I think I've played all that there is in the genre. I remember being really excited for Grimrock and thought it was going to be a revival for blobbers (which it kind of was for a second), but it was soulless and every game that came from it was worse.
I've been playing Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei.
Its the first time I've ever really gotten into a Dungeon Crawler. It definitely helps that its much easier and more forgiving than something like Wizardry which I've failed to get into multiple times.
I just had something weird happen. I put in my password and after killing a couple weak enemies on my way back to Mazurka, I gained two levels. I know Max HP can sometimes be incorrect and will fix itself after loading a password, but can this happen for EXP required to level up as well?
Or are both of these things just weird quirks caused by the English patch? Like how the game will rarely crash during random encounters and stuff. Just wondering if you know.
After pondering on this for a while, I think I found my own answer. I was level drained a total of two times, and I don't think the game reduced my total EXP when I lost levels, so by inputting my password, the game no longer took the lost levels into account, and was only looking at how much total EXP I had and what level that makes me.
Finished Lands of Lore 2 recently, while the first game had a lot of bullshit I still liked it more than the second game, the second game has a very obscure progression and some bs dungeons to explore, is the third game better the second game? Because if it’s worse then I won’t play it probably.
No.
You should
Eye of the Beholder II
What game is this.
I started Ultima Underworld yesterday.

it was never likely that this thread would survive but bump anyway

Based. Where are you at the moment? Mazurka?
Yeah, I'm on the 3rd floor now. Fully mapped out everything above.
Succubus encounters are terrifying.

It's the worst game in the series.
shining the holy ark
I like free-roaming dungeon crawlers better than grid games. There are few of them.
Impeccable taste, anon.
free roaming dungeon crawlers set off my autism because I can't map them as accurately as grid-based ones
Fair enough.
Yes. I replayed bards tale and bloodywych.
still waiting for Wizardry 5 Ordeals to get its scenario builder they promised us.
