KeeperFX 1.0.0 has been released!

>Numerous volunteers have put in a lot of work to deliver a long list of features and fixes. Notably, with this release, there is a jump from version 0.x to version 1.x, coinciding with the removal of the link to the keeperfx.dll file.
>This means that all original Dungeon Keeper code has been rewritten, establishing KeeperFX as a true open-source standalone game. Ownership of the original game is still and will always be required for copyright reasons.
Cool, wanna give it a try, never played dungeons-like game before thou. Does it keep up with the times?
any notable differences, played it since release. its old school but fun to learn, great atmosphere
Level 10 Haste bug has been fixed, which makes hasted lvl 10 creatures actually good. Previously, Haste only lasted something like 5 seconds at level 10, making it useless. Word of Power actually deals damage now (though I think it still deals less damage than the original design docs had specified).
Game speed is no longer tied to framerate, meaning you can experiment with lower speeds (if the action feels too hectic at times) without turning the game into a 3DO-tier slideshow.
hell. yeah. it's good to be back
damn always wanted to try dungeon keeper, so many games in the backlog
man the in-game settings menu sucks ass
any dxwrappers for SDL2, to get overlays to work
What's the best way to play mission 7 (Wishvale)? Should you dig out the hero tunnels and link them to Blue's dungeon (so the successive waves attack him instead of you), or should you stomp Blue first with a high-level transfered creature, then kill the heroes yourself?
dig along the top and left with a possessed imp to break all the gold so you can pick it up with the hand, linking the heroes early can help but theres doors in the unclaimed area to stop them all from rushing. big rooms are a pain but a few are needed. if you need more money sell workshop stuff
Are those doors locked? Can't they be knocked down by a lvl 7+ Demon Spawn you transfered from Snuggledell? I think you can also link the hero tunnels with each other by digging with a possessed imp.
Though, my main concern is that, by the time you get the set-up ready to funnel all the repeat spawns (the "Ichi", "Ni", "San", "Yon" and "Go" hero groups), Blue will have trained up a force of relatively competent creatures (the heroes are only lvl 2, and there's only 3 of them in a group).
usually what I've had happen, then it's a b***h dealing with blue owning everything, he will go broke but going for his top seam will speed it up and help you train a force to smash him, his heart is also open from the back at the bottom of the top seam for possible cheese
Well, many missions are a lot more difficult when played the "standard" way, without transfering a high-level minion from a previous map.
In some cases, a mission that would otherwise be pretty BS can be utterly trivialized via a transfer.
Did they fix the long pathing crash?
yes
Wonder if 2 will ever get a similar treatment down the line.
i wish, 2 was tight but got compatibility fricked, even xp would crash constantly, damn ME/2000
How do I spawn the avatar?
You mean via console commands, or in a regular game? The avatar is only present in the campaign's last mission.
IM HORNY

Can't I just use an .iso of the full game bundled with the x-pack that I have downloaded from OldGames,ru almost 15 years ago to get around that moralcucked non-argument?
i don't see why it shouldnt work.
should work, can also just grab a gog copy from wherever
You can, but noone cares. The reason why it works like this is so that the project doesn't get DMCA'd
I have my disc from like 2001 lol
I have a licensed version on GOG.
i have a 10 mb portable hindu installer i just got from the web
Such a great game, playing on New Game+ having not played in years. They don't make games like this anymore.
Keeper FX for Dungeon Keeper 2 where?
First they need to get DK2 working properly on modern PCs.
Wake me up when they re-do black and white.
It's in progress, but it probably won't be playable anytime soon:
