DL the game either via seven seas (some nerd skillz needed here) or johren (needs monies, your data, dat drm, etc) once you got the game just add the exe. In the folder as non steam game then force run with proton 8.0-2, input johren code and you good to go
I want to lodge some complaints with the Therian Planning and Zoning Commission. I'm not sure I trust these guys to build a bathtub back at HQ. Based on what I've seen, it would only be accessible through a teleporter, and would have an invisible one-way lid that caused people to get stuck inside of it and drown.
I think Yuni's personal skill is a bit better, but I use Ist regardless because I like her more.
Ist is better late game because you need to grind out those long ass dungeons. And Yuni's little buffs (you can get other characters to debuff) aren't worth Ist's more powerful maid skills.

I finally found a solution that helped me out the whole time! All I had to do was install Direct X End User Runtime, Went to my system files, and installed the damn thing. It took a couple minutes. I can't believe it was that simple. Here

I literally just put the dlc folder inside data and that was it, first time I checked the party member list in the guild all the dlc characters were there. that's for 2, 2-2 the nyaa download already has the dlc in it by default
It wasn't pretty but I treated it as a puzzle boss then it became a really straightforward fight after a couple tries. Make sure buffs/debuffs are maintained; have Cover up to stop second attacks from hitting the backline; then Siena just kept casting magic.
Anti-magic zones aside the brunt of my issues this dungeon came from only having Siena for magic damage and I didn't feel like rectifying that since I knew El was coming up. She's going straight into my party after this since I think she's cute as a button
They're definitely worth playing if you like the genre.

What's a good level to tackle the underwater ray romano 2 dungeon? The white album one had easy as frick encounters but the gym boss fricking raped me when i got there with only 3 characters.
I found Alisia in one of those star marked spots on the bottom left of the map, I think where she pops up might be random though? I assume you just have to check all the suspicious looking places until you find her somewhere.
Is it possible to beat the Therian Altar boss at without advanced classes or do I need to grind 4 levels? I only managed to get her to half on my best attempt
Had the boss slowed, paralyzed, attack down dance, and their aoe was almost oneshotting the backline. And if it had the damage dance going then it was 100% oneshot
I did it with an average party level of 27 and no advanced classes, but I was running a very safe party of 2 MU's, 2 fighters, and a maid. My main strategy was to to basically chunk her down with big magic and berserker hits while spamming AOE heals and praying to god I get crits to stop the damage up dance. It took about 5 attempts and the winning one had half the team dead.

You can't really outlast grim, unless you overlevel. It's weak to thunder so soceress or better yet enchantress with a high level thunder spell with lightning enchant to further boost damage. Adding lightning enchant to raging smash on beserked berserker, or better yet 2 beserked berserkers is even better. Maybe LVL up paralysis arrow to have a better shot at landing paralysis. Also equip the grand sealbook that increases Crit rate, should have a decent chance of interupting dances. A dancer with high LVL attack debuff dance can reduce damage so the back line can survive enough to heal with 2 gateau chocolate or Danish Can be beaten at LVL 20 if built optimally.
DT2-2. Does anyone know where these Rank 8 Quest "Rivers of Pulp" fruit bosses are?
I assumed it'd be on the West side of the Woods somewhere but I'm pretty sure I've hugged every single wall three times by now and haven't found any way to get there yet.
They're in small single tile rooms that aren't marked at all. Be sure to bring frickloads of damage or a Joker with Life Bringer. And those items to cancel Shadow Sewing.
Are they in the Woods or the Fairy part of the map?

The only one out of those circles where I even get a message is the red one and it's always just the "no one is there" one.

Is the upgrade system really just "blacksmith everything once and hope it randomly gains +10 def like it did that one time"
the atk/def bonuses by upgrades aren't random, you have to use high level books to level equipment up
that said, if you're not in endgame you don't need good armor, just play better and make a proper party.

There exists no party setup at level 24 that won't take a million damage from every random encounter hit on anything but a paladin, the only thing that can change that is more armour anon. I've even started using atk down dance instead and it changes nothing. I would like my backline to not have 50-60 fricking defense for yet another dungeon in a row >the atk/def bonuses by upgrades aren't random
Yes, I understand how people said it works. That doesn't change the fact that one time I upgraded a leather armour and it went from 18 def to like 23+ def using only level 10-19 book and the bonus getting added wasn't even +def it was like mini evade up or some shit. It hasn't happened again since
I'll give the you the mega protip - when you choose a book to apply and it unfortunately removed one of the bonus you wanted to keep and added shit instead you can press cancel and accept to get your desired outcome.

Oh, interesting I didn't know that. Can you add more than one set of affixes to it? Like can you add two different books and get 4 different things added? Everytime I've done it so far it's only taken whatever the first book has had on it and then nothing more after that

Not sure, I only crafted one sword for papi that carries me, but I think I could have added a third negative on my two positive sword. So maybe I could have made that positive later.
There constantly are unique armor pieces, I don't know why you'd keep a +12 leather armor for this long unless you got really unlucky and didn't bother enchanting

I don't know what you mean by unique, I assume you just mean without a + after it, but literally nothing I have found is better than like leather armour +8 that anyone cares about. What the frick do I care about some mini affix when all they need is a ton more defence to stop taking 1/4 of their hp or more per normal hit every encounter? I think I have a unique robe for melvy but it's not any more defence than a +9 or +10 robe, it's the same but just has magic damage mini up on it or something. I can enchant some leather armour sure, but do I want to spend 6+ grand slamming 5 books on it for only +5 def? Probably not because I'm not making enough money to justify that yet. My paladin has a +25 def armour that I enchanted 5 times, it's only 25 def but I can't afford to keep doing that. I would be expecting to simply find gear that's more than a +1 jump each time I go into a new dungeon in most rpgs

no, the boss popped up immediately when I gave the prompt to wait. it's never happened up to that point so it took me by surprise. boss regened 2500 a turn and I couldn't break that even with his seemingly modest defense

They must activate much later then, I could currently conceivably only do like 700 or 800 per round at most on a low def enemy and buffed in an ideal scenario

Joker is able to deal about 10k damage a hit in postgame.
For 2. I just hit rank 6 I believe and I'm still stuck at 30 fricking bag space. I fricking hate how the main limitation on my exploration isn't the difficulty of the dungeon itself, it's constantly running back to dump off more shit into my storage.

I feel like this would be less of a problem if the items told you what they fricking did. Because you don't know you have to hoard them all when it turns out egg sandwich gives 10 hp and 10 tp back or something and is thus obviously worthless garbage.
Food items were pretty obvious to use, since your main recovery items are food too, but having your very limited inventory be at least a third of the way full with required dungeoneering items and the rest getting cluttered up with whatever bullshit quest drops and unidentified gear is too much for me. Not having an option to fricking pick what you want to drop from your bag when you finish a battle and your bag is full tilts the frick out of me too, fricking EO had this shit ages ago.

Yeah, it's quite annoying. It's not just food items that you can use from enemy drops either, but there's very little reason to go out of your way to experiment with their drops since you'll need to constantly collect 6 Beard asses to do your fricking quests. I'd have at least wanted a different bag for all that shit if the game is going to constantly ask me to collect all that junk.

After careful study on who has the lewdest Magic Princess costume I've leveled Nanako up to level 30, grinding her and Ist+El to 30 has made Lize fricking huge. I'm really liking this party though, I previously had Grishna as a Dark Lord but the anti-synergy was real with Valk Alicia in the same party.
I'll switch Nanako to a MP later at level 50, my party couldn't keep up with the TP costs at this point.

It's pretty great, I found myself saving before a crossroads, falling to see if it'd reset me back to start and loading to try again
Too bad the encounter rate is so high with no way to reduce it, all fights are the same. There have been a couple dozen different enemy formations between the last three dungeons and all fights play out the exact same way. Doesn't matter what enemies are engaged, you're going to do the same shit every encounter. For bosses too, you just do the boss rotation instead of the random encounter one focusing on single target skills instead of group ones. Bosses don't feel unique, there is just a wind up and a power attack you have to mitigate or avoid, that's about it.

Not sure about 2, but in 2-2 you can view all floors by pressing start.
Just unlocked Grishna in DT2, meaning I'll need to start juggling party members. Am I going to miss anything if I start neglecting a party member (Lilian) to swap in Grishna? Or does the game assume that even though you can only field 5 characters at once, everyone is still in the dungeon together so you still will hear party dialogue between the missing characters and other similar things.
There are like 15 characters for the main story, you'll only see skits for current party. If you bench Lilian that's basically cutting off her further character development for the rest of the game.

Seems to only be between party members, but you're gonna miss stuff no matter what. For example, I had the cute ginger as a berserker, went into a dungeon, got a convo about her lewd outfit. Reclassed her to paladin, in another dungeon got a convo about her cat ears on that outfit.
Got a convo when a maid got slept by an enemy and remained asleep until the end of the fight.
There's no way you're gonna see all the scenes regardless

There are AoE healing items like Sachertorte, but towards the late/postgame you'll need a Treasure Hunter to make serious use of them, I think I finally hit the ceiling of what my party without good AoE healing can manage at the level 60~ main story boss (not sure if it's the final one, this game just keeps going)

Story Clear 2
Play 2-2 100%
Go back to 2 for postgame
Once you beat both there will be nothing else to do all year, no new drpgs are being made

Do the doors at least have the decency of staying open once you reach them, like the door that needs El in the villa, or do they have shortcuts to bypass them after you beat their segment? I'm not at the postgame yet, probably not even that close, but there's a fine line between encouraging diversity and forcing players to gimp arbitrarily themselves for entire dungeons.

I'm not gonna lie, the reason I played DT2 years ago was because I played Aquapazza. I wanted something to scratch the dungeon crawling itch since I already played every EO game up to that point, but I had no idea what I was getting into since the extent of my knowledge was Sasara's skills. It was honestly one of the better games and I didn't expect that.
Is there any way to skip the text completely or at least speed it up significantly? Currently losing against the Samurai and Ninja encounter after the Hotsprings scene but it's a pain having to spam k everytime I need to retry.
Not that bad with the DT2-2 counter passive. It procs nearly all the time, think RNG attacks are the only thing she doesn't counter. Procs even if the valk covers for her hit. The damage is nice 1 shot the hope back with the MI turn after.

Comparing both with each other though, the behavious is all the same. So if the crack behaves the same as the official exe, i can rest assured that even that many positives are false ones? Touhou has character variety from being a long ass running series. Each individual mainline game only introduces 7 - 9 characters, which is completely justified when a run of the game is about 30 minutes plus the 10 minute extra stage. Also completely different genre so can't really be compared.

Yes you can. Dungeon Travelers has lots of enemy variety, because the enemies have different behaviors and abilities, and designs, they just so happen to be girls. Same goes for Touhou, all the characters are girls yet they still have different personalities and play different.

In actual porn games (aka eroge) the dev knows that everyone is going to rush the sexy scenes, so they don't put much thought into the gameplay, with very rare exceptions like idk Sengoku Rance I guess (as already mentioned above).
There are some eroge developers like Alicesoft/Eushully/Giga/BaseSon/etc who for a while had some actually talented game developers, those teams have largely fallen apart in recent years though.

they're regular miniboss enemies in 3-4 dungeons from where you are now. And they're still very tough when they do show up. I'd think you'd need some serious overleveling and maybe lots of water resist.

The Steamdb estimates on Uta 2/3 are in 20k-40k range, DT2 and DT2-2 will be small blips if they remain limited to Johren (PC wise, they probably need DT2-2 to get through Steam review unlike 2).
Though the most straight forward way to get the sales to justify DT3 would be EN/JP/CN Switch releases of 2 and 2-2
I want Aquaplus to do well and not just make Underwater Ray Romano games, and while it looks like they're testing the waters with DT and White Album coming soon, they really need to put these games on Switch. Japan loves the fricking Switch.
Any tips for grinding levels when running into a boss/area you can't beat? I'm in 2-2 fighting against Mefmera right now at level ~20. I could just run around in the Fish Palace or one of the DLC dungeons, but I was wondering if I wasn't missing some basic mechanic to help me out.
The DLC dungeons are good, at your level you should definitely be able to clear the Hojo Prep if you haven't yet, it probably won't get you a lot of exp right now but the 2 pieces of equipment you get from beating the bosses are pretty useful for bards.
The Imperial Capital may give you some decent exp from grunts, but it may still be a bit early to even beat the 1st boss, if you somehow manage though you get a staff with a nice int bonus and an enchant for Doll Masters.
Not sure if there are quests available at this point that give out Exp as rewards, but if they are, just be aware that equipping the Exp boosting accessories before you claim the reward will boost the reward amount for the specific two characters that you equip them on.
Currently running with Berserker, Paladin, Sorceress, Dancer and Priestess (Luco, Yae, Irena, Conette and Siena respectively).
I've leveled the bench somewhat, so I have access to a Bard, Trickster an Assassin too.
I ended switchin party a bit after getting Conette, and did that fight at the lv 20 I was after the Dragon Palace with a double Berserker, Bard, Priestess and Dancer party, so far the unga has been working well in the next dungeon too.
Gameplay aside, this late trend of EDGECORE or whatever you wanna call it kinda turns me off, too much blood and despair and what not. I'm glad DT is a light hearted series.

It's just a Vita gimmick. DRPGs were big on the Vita and someone (forgot who) figured out a rubbing mini-game utilizing Vita's touch screen could be a fun gimmick so many games copied it. Even fricking Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus had one.

Probably, but it cuts out a middle man if you just want to support the devs. Then again, they might see that as the English version not selling well but I don't think that will have much of an impact anyway.
The port fricked up the audio of a couple tracks, which anon fixed by making a proper fixed encoding from the OST.

It's presumably should be fricked up on JP too, which makes it more likely that it gets patched (though if they get around to giving EN version that patch is another matter).
With Shiravune as the publisher, it was always going to get thrown into Johren since all there stuff is there. 2-2 seems to still be in Steam review, but they timed the Johren release with the DMM JP release and thus probably didn't delay the Johren release because of that.

Idk I never played EO but I have played both Strange Journeys and the idea of having to draw my own maps in those games sounds horrible and tedious, and not like it'd improve the experience in the slightest.

I think newer drpgs should give the player a choice in options:
A) No Map - Draw it yourself
B) AutoMapping
C) Full Map without GPS
C is actually the option I'd like where I don't have to alt tab to a webpage to see a map, it's available ingame, but there isn't any gps to know where you are on the map. That way the game eliminates fog of war, but doesn't solve the maze for you.
I dunno if you anons have looked at the jp wiki but even with the full maps there aren't easy paths to follow, too many dungeon gimmicks creates complicated paths, and all the full maps do is give you an idea what might be behind a door so you run into fewer dead ends.

That does seem new if it got changed, probably worth checking everything then to see if any other stealth edits that apply to all versions. The censorship of DT2 for just the English version was obvious since the EN version alone had a patch altering the 4CGs.
Assuming this is true for the Japanese release, I wonder what the motivation for these changes were? The English Vita CGs being in there, while unfortunate, weren't too surprising since that is how Shiravune handled the last Aquaplus release from an English console, and was limited to the English build, but this change would have intentionally been made for some other reason.
i also don't understand these decisions. It's on fricking Johren. Or is this some kind of steamversion they were too lazy to decensor again? Would make sense, since i just triplechecked dt-2-2 with the Artbook and it seems completely uncensored. I especially looked at any CG or outfits that someone could deem too problematic. Most of the values are pointers you can just scan anything yourself, lemme tell you the 9999 bagspace sure does get rid of a lot of fricking headache juggling and identifying items when you have a treasure hunter giving you 4 drops every encounter.

It's long as frick, I just finished the main campaign, it's hard to say how long it took me exactly because I just left the game open a bunch, but it was at least 65 and I didn't do extra time consuming stuff like trying to grind everyone, mainly stuck with the same party all the way through

No, intermediate skills, especially some of the passives and utility ones are still fine to use. They're also a lot less SP intensive so they're good for clearing trash. Ofcourse you'll gradually want to increase your focus on the advanced skills as you can afford them more and more.

Based on what I've seen, it would only be accessible through a teleporter, and would have an invisible one-way lid that caused people to get stuck inside of it and drown.
I think Yuni's personal skill is a bit better, but I use Ist regardless because I like her more.
Ist is better late game because you need to grind out those long ass dungeons. And Yuni's little buffs (you can get other characters to debuff) aren't worth Ist's more powerful maid skills.

I finally found a solution that helped me out the whole time! All I had to do was install Direct X End User Runtime, Went to my system files, and installed the damn thing. It took a couple minutes. I can't believe it was that simple. Here

If you downloaded it from the same source as the other anons just unpack it in the game folder and it should go into the correct spot (Data>DLC>ENG)

It wasn't pretty but I treated it as a puzzle boss then it became a really straightforward fight after a couple tries. Make sure buffs/debuffs are maintained; have Cover up to stop second attacks from hitting the backline; then Siena just kept casting magic.
Anti-magic zones aside the brunt of my issues this dungeon came from only having Siena for magic damage and I didn't feel like rectifying that since I knew El was coming up. She's going straight into my party after this since I think she's cute as a button

Is it possible to beat the Therian Altar boss at without advanced classes or do I need to grind 4 levels? I only managed to get her to half on my best attempt
Had the boss slowed, paralyzed, attack down dance, and their aoe was almost oneshotting the backline. And if it had the damage dance going then it was 100% oneshot
I did it with an average party level of 27 and no advanced classes, but I was running a very safe party of 2 MU's, 2 fighters, and a maid. My main strategy was to to basically chunk her down with big magic and berserker hits while spamming AOE heals and praying to god I get crits to stop the damage up dance. It took about 5 attempts and the winning one had half the team dead.
I am just sticking with the default party and with Alisia as paladin, but her cover skill doesn't seem great here because it is either useless because of the line stomp, or it gets her killed with the random targeted stomp
I will get to the next level and go back to town to stock up on healing before trying again I guess
I only hit 30 after exploring most of the Villa, I beat Grim at like 26ish if that even. Took like three attempts, party was 2 Berserker/1 Assassin/1 Sorceress/1 Dancer. One of the biggest things I've noticed is that healing items are stupidly strong and generally a much better choice to use than healing magic if you can stomach the costs. With a big enough stock you can punch WAY above your level for a boss fight.
You can't really outlast grim, unless you overlevel. It's weak to thunder so soceress or better yet enchantress with a high level thunder spell with lightning enchant to further boost damage. Adding lightning enchant to raging smash on beserked berserker, or better yet 2 beserked berserkers is even better. Maybe LVL up paralysis arrow to have a better shot at landing paralysis. Also equip the grand sealbook that increases Crit rate, should have a decent chance of interupting dances. A dancer with high LVL attack debuff dance can reduce damage so the back line can survive enough to heal with 2 gateau chocolate or Danish Can be beaten at LVL 20 if built optimally.
Actually managed to bring it down still at 26 just now
I put an extra point into Melvy's single target thunder attack, bought like 7 aoe healing items, and made sure it was always paralyzed
I had to use all my resurrection items but I barely won

They're in small single tile rooms that aren't marked at all. Be sure to bring frickloads of damage or a Joker with Life Bringer. And those items to cancel Shadow Sewing.

Generic pieces always exist. Endgame you either want specific unique pieces or max smithed generic gear toward speed.
I'm not talking about 'endgame' though, I'm talking about the fact that the dude is 12 levels ahead of me and still using the same armour that I'm using now, if not worse. 12 levels is like 2 or 3 entire dungeons, why the frick are there not armour and item upgrades every single dungeon instead of taking a billion damage cause its been too long since you got anything decent. Is the upgrade system really just "blacksmith everything once and hope it randomly gains +10 def like it did that one time"
there's a steady stream of unique equipment. increased +mark armor is a slow and steady trickle.
the atk/def bonuses by upgrades aren't random, you have to use high level books to level equipment up
that said, if you're not in endgame you don't need good armor, just play better and make a proper party.

There exists no party setup at level 24 that won't take a million damage from every random encounter hit on anything but a paladin, the only thing that can change that is more armour anon. I've even started using atk down dance instead and it changes nothing. I would like my backline to not have 50-60 fricking defense for yet another dungeon in a row

Yes, I understand how people said it works. That doesn't change the fact that one time I upgraded a leather armour and it went from 18 def to like 23+ def using only level 10-19 book and the bonus getting added wasn't even +def it was like mini evade up or some shit. It hasn't happened again since
I'll give the you the mega protip - when you choose a book to apply and it unfortunately removed one of the bonus you wanted to keep and added shit instead you can press cancel and accept to get your desired outcome.

I don't know what you mean by unique, I assume you just mean without a + after it, but literally nothing I have found is better than like leather armour +8 that anyone cares about. What the frick do I care about some mini affix when all they need is a ton more defence to stop taking 1/4 of their hp or more per normal hit every encounter? I think I have a unique robe for melvy but it's not any more defence than a +9 or +10 robe, it's the same but just has magic damage mini up on it or something. I can enchant some leather armour sure, but do I want to spend 6+ grand slamming 5 books on it for only +5 def? Probably not because I'm not making enough money to justify that yet. My paladin has a +25 def armour that I enchanted 5 times, it's only 25 def but I can't afford to keep doing that. I would be expecting to simply find gear that's more than a +1 jump each time I go into a new dungeon in most rpgs

Food items were pretty obvious to use, since your main recovery items are food too, but having your very limited inventory be at least a third of the way full with required dungeoneering items and the rest getting cluttered up with whatever bullshit quest drops and unidentified gear is too much for me. Not having an option to fricking pick what you want to drop from your bag when you finish a battle and your bag is full tilts the frick out of me too, fricking EO had this shit ages ago.

Yeah, it's quite annoying. It's not just food items that you can use from enemy drops either, but there's very little reason to go out of your way to experiment with their drops since you'll need to constantly collect 6 Beard asses to do your fricking quests. I'd have at least wanted a different bag for all that shit if the game is going to constantly ask me to collect all that junk.

After careful study on who has the lewdest Magic Princess costume I've leveled Nanako up to level 30, grinding her and Ist+El to 30 has made Lize fricking huge. I'm really liking this party though, I previously had Grishna as a Dark Lord but the anti-synergy was real with Valk Alicia in the same party.
I'll switch Nanako to a MP later at level 50, my party couldn't keep up with the TP costs at this point.
Magical Princess only gets good around then anyways. It looks like you're doing it the right way by using Witch until then.

Too bad the encounter rate is so high with no way to reduce it, all fights are the same. There have been a couple dozen different enemy formations between the last three dungeons and all fights play out the exact same way. Doesn't matter what enemies are engaged, you're going to do the same shit every encounter. For bosses too, you just do the boss rotation instead of the random encounter one focusing on single target skills instead of group ones. Bosses don't feel unique, there is just a wind up and a power attack you have to mitigate or avoid, that's about it.

Just unlocked Grishna in DT2, meaning I'll need to start juggling party members. Am I going to miss anything if I start neglecting a party member (Lilian) to swap in Grishna? Or does the game assume that even though you can only field 5 characters at once, everyone is still in the dungeon together so you still will hear party dialogue between the missing characters and other similar things.

I didn't follow a meta I partied with characters I liked, the benchwarmers get no development except a few skits mentioning they haven't see you in a long time (since you're ignoring them).

I don't believe this is true at all, once you add her back in you'll start to get the scenes that are triggered I imagine.

BE is about the only intermediate class that can reliably breach his def without overleveling or lots of debuffs I think.

There are AoE healing items like Sachertorte, but towards the late/postgame you'll need a Treasure Hunter to make serious use of them, I think I finally hit the ceiling of what my party without good AoE healing can manage at the level 60~ main story boss (not sure if it's the final one, this game just keeps going)

I wanted something to scratch the dungeon crawling itch since I already played every EO game up to that point, but I had no idea what I was getting into since the extent of my knowledge was Sasara's skills. The Steamdb estimates on Uta 2/3 are in 20k-40k range, DT2 and DT2-2 will be small blips if they remain limited to Johren (PC wise, they probably need DT2-2 to get through Steam review unlike 2).
Though the most straight forward way to get the sales to justify DT3 would be EN/JP/CN Switch releases of 2 and 2-2

Any tips for grinding levels when running into a boss/area you can't beat? I'm in 2-2 fighting against Mefmera right now at level ~20. I could just run around in the Fish Palace or one of the DLC dungeons, but I was wondering if I wasn't missing some basic mechanic to help me out.
The DLC dungeons are good, at your level you should definitely be able to clear the Hojo Prep if you haven't yet, it probably won't get you a lot of exp right now but the 2 pieces of equipment you get from beating the bosses are pretty useful for bards.
The Imperial Capital may give you some decent exp from grunts, but it may still be a bit early to even beat the 1st boss, if you somehow manage though you get a staff with a nice int bonus and an enchant for Doll Masters.
Not sure if there are quests available at this point that give out Exp as rewards, but if they are, just be aware that equipping the Exp boosting accessories before you claim the reward will boost the reward amount for the specific two characters that you equip them on.

Currently running with Berserker, Paladin, Sorceress, Dancer and Priestess (Luco, Yae, Irena, Conette and Siena respectively).
I've leveled the bench somewhat, so I have access to a Bard, Trickster an Assassin too.
I ended switchin party a bit after getting Conette, and did that fight at the lv 20 I was after the Dragon Palace with a double Berserker, Bard, Priestess and Dancer party, so far the unga has been working well in the next dungeon too.

I think newer drpgs should give the player a choice in options:
A) No Map - Draw it yourself
B) AutoMapping
C) Full Map without GPS
C is actually the option I'd like where I don't have to alt tab to a webpage to see a map, it's available ingame, but there isn't any gps to know where you are on the map. That way the game eliminates fog of war, but doesn't solve the maze for you.
I dunno if you anons have looked at the jp wiki but even with the full maps there aren't easy paths to follow, too many dungeon gimmicks creates complicated paths, and all the full maps do is give you an idea what might be behind a door so you run into fewer dead ends.

That does seem new if it got changed, probably worth checking everything then to see if any other stealth edits that apply to all versions. The censorship of DT2 for just the English version was obvious since the EN version alone had a patch altering the 4CGs.

Assuming this is true for the Japanese release, I wonder what the motivation for these changes were? The English Vita CGs being in there, while unfortunate, weren't too surprising since that is how Shiravune handled the last Aquaplus release from an English console, and was limited to the English build, but this change would have intentionally been made for some other reason.

It's long as frick, I just finished the main campaign, it's hard to say how long it took me exactly because I just left the game open a bunch, but it was at least 65 and I didn't do extra time consuming stuff like trying to grind everyone, mainly stuck with the same party all the way through

No, intermediate skills, especially some of the passives and utility ones are still fine to use. They're also a lot less SP intensive so they're good for clearing trash. Ofcourse you'll gradually want to increase your focus on the advanced skills as you can afford them more and more.
