This is why I like the way Mamoru Oshi and Satoshi Kon draw their humans. Leagues more realistic than the gap-moe-desu-kawaii crap that passes for decent nowadays.
When it comes to anime breasts, a realistic shape and appearance absolutely is a good thing.

They aren't. The best 2d breasts look much the same as 3d breasts, but you still can't touch them.

Crowned Lilian in DT2-2. Feels like crowning is longer to do here compared to DT2. The Attack Zone grinding sounds great on paper but every battle there is killed or be killed, so if you ever got ambushed, you're most likely to get wiped before you get your carry's turn. Its not something you can do half asleep.
I'm trying the triple grind strat in Plains of Light 8 and it might just be as long as doing it in Shrine B3F.

Honestly what bugs me the most about this out fit is the ring closing the dress around her knees.
I hate grinding in dungeon crawlers. I feel like I'm cheating if I fight a boss with extra stats and rare drops I got from grinding. I'd rather spend twice as long remaking my team and attempting different strategies instead of winning that way.
Still haven't played 2-2 (I'll get a deck someday) but I loved DT2.
>C: Doors that control fate (2), you can't pass through them without hiring the three Moirai sisters as mercenaries.
Holy fricking shit this game is obtuse
Thank god for the wiki
I want another one.
They sure made Odin really hard to fight. Giving it Parry + Clone was just bullshit. It also has a higher AGI than I remember in DT2 and it can dodge attacks decently, include Preparation and a Speed Up buff and the battle can drag pretty long.
Here I though it the same Dark Aura + Auto Guard + Knock Down + Minds Eye gimmick like the last game.
Nice job. It is unfortunately. Compared to Slaughtering Daeva of DT2, it looks middling in comparison.
From what I read on the jp wiki, it seems theres another one with 270+ ATK but it drops from a therian and I don't know where.

I think A+ and A speed difference is negligible but the Full TP Recovery of Tartarus is good enough for it, then again Jokers lives and dies by DEF stats.
Personally, I'm not satisfied of my Joker doing 3000 damage per hit of Danger Shoot. Maybe the 5000 damage on DT2 spoils me too much.
To be fair in DT2 Joker had Berserk through Therian Seal. You can still get higher damage by using some item that grants Berserk, like Graduation Yearbook. Still not as good as DT2 because Slaughtering Daeva was a ridiculously overpowered weapon.
>To be fair in DT2 Joker had Berserk through Therian Seal. You can still get higher damage by using some item that grants Berserk, like Graduation Yearbook. Still not as good as DT2 because Slaughtering Daeva was a ridiculously overpowered weapon.
Right, I forgot about the free Berserk. Aside from having a weak end game knife, it seems Filsword got nerfed big time too. Its even weaker than the Big Dipper Sword of DT2. Magical Princess really got the nerf this time, almost like the Kunoichi nerf from DT1 from what I've read. This weapon nerfs makes me think its about time for me to do crowning. I'll just finish filling up the weakened superboss item drop list and I'll get on it.
MP is fine. She's not overpowered but she's still quite a decent all around damage dealer with some supporting capabilities. The nerfs are not even comparable to the Kunoichi massacre.

I'm late to the party. Wanted to start DT2, and can see now Windows Defender labels the unwrapper as a "game/hack", which is reassuring.
Any reports on dt22 unwrapped? It lights Virus Total like a fricking christmas tree. (arguably, the original exe is not better, I guess it's whitelisted by microsoft? windows defender doesn't flag it)
>Any reports on dt22 unwrapped? It lights Virus Total like a fricking christmas tree. (arguably, the original exe is not better, I guess it's whitelisted by microsoft? windows defender doesn't flag it)
I ran it sandboxed for a like ten hours and it never tried anything suspect. I think it's just shitty DRM setting off all the AVs.
Thanks for confirming.
Much better and not even close. The dungeons are more interesting and there's more to combat than auto attacks. That said, if what you liked about Galleria was the story then you're not going to like Dungeon Travelers since it's an excuse plot that's only there to have something rather than nothing at all. The characters are great though.
I haven't played Galleria but DT's gameplay is leaps and bounds better than Labyrinth of Refrain's in pretty much every way.
Cool, thanks.
Didn't really like Galleria. Combat was dull as frick, and the "plot" was boring (played maybe 15-20 hours, and didn't find any memorable characters or events).
I have high hopes for DT.

It has no issues. The problem is that "haha yeah I'm 18 don't worry about the details" isn't working here, and Steam has no actual age verification system. And if you aren't 18, you are not allowed to see those products in Germany.
Now don't ask me what weird loophole they went through so we can buy normal 18+ games. But at least as far as normal stores go, those can be displayed openly, just not sold to minors.
Also don't ask me how other stores can sell adult stuff to Germany. Small enough? Another funny loophole? Who knows.

There's some dialogue choices that affect a scene in particular
The biggest example is chapter 9 after beating the boss before returning to the library, you get to pick with which girl you spend your last night with
Nothing too lewd, the MC is always aloof/dumb and only a couple of girls are actually assertive
I started with DT and I was fine. Though it's certainly more fun when you also play the main game, I did so during my DT playthrough, TH2 is a long burn anyway
>How would these be for someone that is all gameplay and doesn't really care about the breasts?
Dungeon Travelers is about gameplay first and anime breasts second. The combat is mostly standard turn based JRPG combat, a bit better than average and more challenging than usual but nothing too exciting. The dungeon designs are exceptionally good, if you like figuring out how to get through complex mazes full of puzzles, give it a shot.
It's definitely harder, if only because you can't unga bunga Magical Slash Rose Queen spam and kill everything before it can hurt you, but you can still get through most of the game easily if you know what you're doing.
I'd say DT1 > DT2-2 > DT2 in terms of difficulty, but they're all fairly close.
So I reached postgame, of course my Papillon carries me through mobs, but I was wondering how to increase her damage output even further. I have a longsword forged to the limit with lvl 40+ books, a few attack+ and the spiked shield, plus Lvl5 war cry on at all times.
Is damage gated by weapon attack from now on? Do I have to farm uniques, or do I go for a higher number and enchant again once I get lvl 40 books? I feel there's not much increase when I level up.
Also does Magic Princess scale from attack or magic? I've read they equip swords too
This is assuming you're playing DT2 (if you aren't then you shouldn't be considering Magical Princess).
You can equip unique weapons if they're strong enough, but until endgame generic weapons do just fine. Keep it upgraded as high as it can be. Level Rose Queen to max.
Your biggest increase in damage right now would probably come from Therian Seal, an infinite use item that grants Berserk to a target.
MP scales with ATK. They equip swords. Get the Vanadis sword from an event by bringing Eltricia to the boss room of the Royal Villa with Freyja in your inventory.
The most important thing is having a total of 5 Speed UP enchants across all your gear, and as much AGI UP as possible (ideally every single piece of gear has AGI UP, only one per gear piece can be enchanted). This is especially true on Magical Princess, and that's priority #1, but it's important for everyone else too.
MP is the strongest class in the game by far. It's much better than Papillon at AoE in most situations and it's much better than any other class at single target damage outside of Joker in the very endgame.
There's a fan that's slightly better than the gun but it's not going to make that big a difference. If you're expecting to oneshot mobs, that's not really possible, you should be aiming for two shot.
Psychogun is your only powerful weapon for your PA in DT2-2, up until you get Lord Mashiro's Fan, which I still don't have. Doesn't help that theres only one copy of that gun so your Papillion and Treasure Hunter will need to change setup whoever has it.
Boreas Fan is a good alternative for the Psychogun in your Papillion. It may be weaker and slower but the Weapon Master + Fan Mastery will give it enough ATK to be almost strong as the gun, and the Water Element Buff will make your Danger Shoot water element, great if you're hunting for Seraph and Odin later down in the Plains of Light.
It is very sloppy with a lot of spelling mistakes, but the translator is clearly very knowledgeable about Aquaplus games since they correctly translate many of the references, including fixing some that were missed in the translation of DT2.
normally I look down on save scumming, but here it is the smart thing to do.
The middle section of the tower was iffy in general, but the first and last third was great
After Crowning a few more characters, I'd say crowning here in DT2-2 is alot more time consuming. This might take alot more time compared to DT2. Its just better to do the usual dual girl party grinding since the less time you spent in Plains of Light 8, the better. Triple girl party setup is possible, Crowning 2 girls at the same time but needs more time for them to get at Lv.70 and that means more ambushes and instant game overs.
I like the combat in Dungeon Travelers
fast paced, encounters appear instantly
very steady difficulty curve in encounters
the magic chanting mechanics make mage-heavy parties very distinct from physical parties
status effects are mighty but aren't cheesy I win buttons
Especially the first game, where status ailments truly are powerful (Freeze arguably trivializes nearly the entire game), a lot more classes are viable, and gear actually matters because you can't just enchant random gear to have all the effects you want.
>encounters appear instantly
that doesn't get talked about much but this is one of DT's best features and makes the game way better than it otherwise would be
Bogomil. Once you got enough firepower in your party, you can try wreaking enemies you want to drop stuff, fight the superboss for their drops if you can and grind for crowning.
Fortune Sword then Filsword for MP, and Hyakka Ryouran for your PA is where you can start getting stuffs you missed and grind for crown.
Because its not easy to find an armor that ends in +79 or +84. Specifically in those levels you can upgrade your generic equipments to +99 more easily but even then, you need to throw one seal book thats around Lv.95 to get it to +99.
Also, thats an outdated build.
Don't crown, that's a waste of time and not needed. All the good uniques are either from Bogomil or god drops. Make sure to learn Item Steal with your Treasure Hunter so you don't go insane from how ridiculously low the drop rates are. Enter fight, item steal, if you didn't get the drop then flee and try again. Still going to take ages though. You only really need Brynhildr's Plume, and Ceremonial Tutu is nice I guess.
Don't farm rare drops, that's a waste of time and not needed. You get several good uniques from quest rewards, the wandering merchant, and treasure chests.
From what I remember:
- Vanadis Plate, from Materializing 4 of the hardest enemies in Bogomil, and to get each events, Conette must be in your party.
- Collecting 4 items for Lilian, for a +20 DEX boost. DT2-2 fixed this by giving everyone stat boosting events but only from post game onwards.
- Unlocking the Wandering Brigade boss battles. Requires Lize and Mefmera to be Lv.80+. Event can only be unlocked within the Otherworld dungeons.
- Unlocking the Four Therian Kings boss battles. Requires Fiora and Tsurara to be Lv.75+. Can be unlocked only in the Temple dungeon in the Otherworld. Needs a free slot in your inventory as you'll get a key item after the event.
Not a problem once you hit post game. You'll just need to take one of them in your party and equip them with a Double EXP Ring. Get used on operating a four person party as your fifth one will be used for opening class doors.
>What is this, Etrian Odyssey with h-scenes? How does it compare?
The dungeons are better than EO but the monster and class designs are generally a bit worse. I think the difficulty is usually a bit higher than EO. They don't have FOEs but they do have minibosses that show up in random encounters and feel somewhat similar. They're also insanely long with ~50 hour main games and another 100 hours in their post games. Also Dungeon Travelers games have somewhat weak starts because low level characters are excessively limited. They get better as you unlock more abilities and are very good games overall.
The combat is a lot easier seriously just attack and heal, spamming aoe damage if you have it or or using skills to interrupt casters is the highest form of thought you'll need outside of bosses (aside from figuring out the best way for your to maid keep keep your MP maxed so you can mindlessly spam).
Ailments don't matter, debuffs and buffs are at least worth using since the maid probably has nothing better to do and you can cast quite a few before battle for classes that DO have better things to do than cast buffs, I'll admit that does give it a slight leg up over most jrpgs where buffing at all is a waste of time.
I don't use the non-maid class buffs for randoms in DT though. Maybe warcry before battle if I remember to be bothered.
EO will at least have spikes of difficulty (even putting aside FOEs) where you'll have to use your non-attack skills if you aren't the the type that simply grinds past any challenge until you're level capped.
Classes are a lot more simple than any EO starting from 3, the abilities are very basic and builds tend to be pretty boring.
Trees are usually 1 or 2 attack skills you'd ever use, boring or useless passives, perhaps optional utility skill(s), then shit you don't want.
With no interaction or complexity between them.
Once you get into post game in DT the bosses at least require more than the bare minimum of "attack then heal." So there is that going for it.
You can reduce every RPG to "lol just attack and heal". The only thing I agree with from that entire post is that status ailments don't matter, an unfortunate consequence of changes made starting in DT2.
Yeah, but there is a difference between "every single random is worthless trash that you dismiss in the exact same way and a good number main story bosses too (although to be fair for bosses that might be because you don't get any abilities that aren't straight up "lol attack or heal" until 2nd or 3rd classes depending on your class choices for some types)
and EO's system that encourages the player to make use of a diversity of abilities because the randoms aren't just filler between bosses (although again the 3DS games are the ones that lean into this).
Of course nothing stops a player from excessive grinding and making EO play like DT does.
I feel like this mainly applies to DT2 due to very poor balance that allows just spamming Magical Slash every fight. It's much less the case in DT2-2 and not the case at all in TH2DT.

I've only played EO3 since I heard it was the best but I didn't find the classes or combat to be all that interesting.

Yeah, EO3 is where they placed the building blocks for what would come later.
The "Story" and "Atmosphere" are the best in the series and the classes tend to be unique and complex only in name.
The stuff that is actually kind of interesting is usually half-baked.
2U, V, and Nexus (although it has other issues and generally should be played last) are where you'll tend to find classes with builds that are actually somewhat in-depth, have "combos", or interesting interactions so that you actually look forward to obtaining your new stuff.
4 is a half step up from 3 for interesting classes/combat, but kind of boring in comparison to the above.
DT2 and DT2-2 are your standard fare dungeon crawlers with even less build/skill complexity than EO3 which slightly edges those out by halfassedly trying to do something different.
If you don't like EO3 you probably won't like these games either unless you wanted more breasts and harem anime tropes in-between smashing stuff.

I dropped EO3 quite a few times but sticked to DT2 to the end
Maybe the class/skill/subclass system and how drops work made it a bit overwhelming to me. DT2 is much simpler
I wish EO3 was much clearer with its skill descriptions, and also that the exp penalty wasn't so big when resetting. At least in DT2 once you reach your benchmark you can try whatever you want
They're both ultimately attack and heal outside of the occasional superboss, but DT kills me more frequently than EO so I say DT is harder. Both games have more combat depth than the average JRPG but are ultimately shallow.
I started on DT2 but the quest to defeat the Temple of Wrappl boss isn't coming up, is there something you need to do first or did I frick up by getting to the door without having the quest even though I haven't fought her yet?
>did I frick up by getting to the door without having the quest even though I haven't fought her yet?
Seems to be this. According to the jp wiki, the quest disappears if you step to the front door.
In 2? MP takes off at 50 and only gets better from there. In 2-2 MP sucks. You can also keep the Papillon unless you want the space for something else. Papillon is very good.
Honestly Magical Princess is extremely unbalanced and takes the fun out of the game in my opinion. Every damage dealer that's not MP is objectively much much worse until the last like 2 hours of the game when Joker overtakes her in boss fights. She can also tank extremely well. In fact she can solo the game.
Do it for her then. She carried me very well till the very end.
I think the grind is not necessary but being a collector of stuff, it eventually comes that I've grinded.
It's not grindy at all though. The only thing you ever grind for is rare gear in endgame only, and as
Don't farm rare drops, that's a waste of time and not needed. You get several good uniques from quest rewards, the wandering merchant, and treasure chests.
The game gets better as you unlock newer classes with more complete ability sets. If you use a good party build and keep your items up to date you shouldn't need to grind much at all.
I'm not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing? Would this raise say, Monica's chance to interrupt enemies or would it increase Melvy's chance to be interrupted when chanting?
Any suggestions for a Linuxgay on how to run these games? When I run DT2 in Wine with Jap locale it gives me some error in Japanese that I can't really read and then it closes.
People were very successful running this with Proton on the Steam Deck. Try that. Or post the error message. Also install DirectX on your Wine prefix since the game does throw an error if that's not installed and that might be it.
The error window that comes up is just something about Wine. It even links to WineHQ. When I look in the console I run Wine in I see a couple GL_OUT_OF_MEMORY errors and an unhandled page fault involving write access. I'm not sure if I'm missing some other random library besides DirectX11 as has been the case for other games I've had to tinker with or it's something else entirely.
We're getting the Vita version of the first game so PC or Vita only players won't get to see the level of complete bullshit that Kunoichi was in the PSP version, but she's actually still quite good while not completely overpowered. I would like to see Kunoichi return to this level in a potential DT3, rather than the useless pile of garbage she is in DT2 and DT2-2.
Kunoichi needs more Techniques. Phoenix being the only projectile skill is bullshit, they should have something like a Fire Bomb technique thats a single target projectile skill that has a stun chance. They also have Katana Mastery yet they don't have a Katana technique to utilize it. I think Dual Wield should allow you to double attack when you equip 2 weapons everytime you attack normally and turn the Barrage passive into a Technique skill that works similar to Danger Shoot but a dual wield exclusive skill.
Also, Mistress needs better weapon speed rank.
Agreed about katana mastery, that's probably a relic from FDCGR where you could equip it in the off hand and still gain stats from the mastery, but since TH2DT masteries don't affect the off hand weapon.
The rest I don't necessarily disagree with but I also don't agree with. Having more projectile skills wouldn't hurt, but Phoenix is fine. It just needs to go back to being a full AoE rather than hitting only one row. Dual Wield and Barrage are fine as they are and don't need changes. I'm not opposed to Kunoichi using normal attacks, since no other class does that so it's OK to have one that does, and Kunoichi eventually switched to using scrolls for damage anyways. Speaking of, scrolls need to go back to the 1000 damage cap. They already got a big enough nerf from the switch to INT speed and removal of instant cast spells. 400 is absolutely pathetic.
>Also, Mistress needs better weapon speed rank.
Even more than that, whips need a huge boost to their attack power. They are useless aside from one or two uniques.
>Even more than that, whips need a huge boost to their attack power. They are useless aside from one or two uniques.
Agreed. They got it right by making the generic whip a 1 hand weapon in 2-2 but raising its weapon speed rank was bad, also the Beast Binder skill of Joker should have gone to the Mistress since Jokers doesn't have Whip Mastery to maximize its usage. Weapon Mastery exist from Spieler might help a bit but you don't have a reason to use any weapon for a Joker other than an Axe unless it can out speed it, like Edge of Tartarus. Imagine how deadly the Beast Binder skill + Gleipnir Whip when used on a Beast type. Too bad Gleipnir Whip got a horrible weapon speed rank.
I'm stuck in 2-2. Can't advance past the entrance to the plains of light floor 10. I have a quest to collect a golden esperanza casino chip and Aradia is hiding in Gruneworth. I don't know how to proceed on any of these, please advise.
I believe all of the paths were blocked by gates that said I need the power to control fate. I've heard I need to recruit the moirai sisters but I have not seen them either.
The Moirai sisters are in the Therian Village. There should be an event in the Quest Desk that ask you to come to the village and talk to Airavata.
If you don't find it then you need to kill a boss in Plains of Light but you've already reach map 10 so I doubt that.
After winning the fight against the Moirai sisters, to unlock them as a mercenary, you need to fight around 20 times then go back to the base. You might need to go to the base menu first though.
>The Moirai sisters are in the Therian Village. There should be an event in the Quest Desk that ask you to come to the village and talk to Airavata.
Ohh I got that quest and then forgot about it. Thanks. And as payment, I discovered an interesting bug! You can tell Airavata you beat the Moirai to get some dazzling skill garnishes. If you come back she's asleep. But if you come back yet again you get more skill garnishes. Infinite skill points.
Yep, they didn't fix that from Vita from what I've heard.

Basically, theres an error window that will pop up when Lilian uses her Third Eye Wide skill on an enemy. I think its only if the enemy moves first then her unique activates and hits.
I'll try to get a screenshot next time. I'll likely get another one as shes my carry on my crowning.
, with the enemy acting first at the start of battle?
I save obsessively so I doubt this rare crash would pose much of an inconvenience for me, but I did use Lilian for almost the entirety of DT2 as my designated papillon, so I should probably give some of the other spielers a chance.

Thats actually me and yes, its on an enemy ambush. Its most likely to happen when the enemy got stunned and Lilian still doesn't get her first turn yet, based on what I've observed.

Most likely its gonna be Lize as shes your first Spieler in 2-2 and her unique is the most practical out of the 3.

Counterpoint: Lilian is vastly cuter and sexier

Can't argue on that. Her Papillon costume is hot.
>unique
People actually care about this?
Yes, especially in DT2-2 where some of the units Unique skill got changed or improved. Lize can pretty great for enemies that summon dolls since she can take 1 out everytime her turn comes up, or Melvy if you want to get more bonus stats from her equipments.
Some are still odd to use like Siena's Arcane Shield or Souffle's Overstock Clearance.

Some of them are good enough to care about, but none of the spieler uniques are.
Why aren't there more games like this? Dungeon Crawlers are boring. Replacing all the imps and goblins with cute girls at least keeps things mildly interesting. Adding in complex customization options through equipment, classes, and abilities let's the player personalize their experience.
This vs Grimrock? This every time.
In DT2, I got the items for the Nameless Cave and Aberdeen Ruins extra side areas. Cleared through the enemies in both fairly easily, but the bosses at the end? They seem to hit WAY above their paygrade. Those things are expected to be fought later on, right? Even though the enemies were either at or slightly above where I should be in the story so far?
>Those things are expected to be fought later on, right?
Yes
They can't even be cheesed by status ailments. Just get more levels and skills, and better weapons
>better weapons
That's been a pain. Usually see a unique and it becomes BIS for 2 or 3 dungeons because the normal stuff can't come close. I feel like I've had the Khopesh on Monica for so long now, but the +11 or 12 daggers/kukiri are no where near it. Barely catching up to the Fruit Knife for that matter.
The thing is you can only put ATK UP on a weapon, and AGI and Speed don't really matter that early into the game (tbf neither does ATK UP but when it starts to matter it's definitely good to have it on your weapon if you can)
I won't lie. I don't really understand how enchanted weapons work. It doesn't help that I've only seen the Blacksmith 3 or 4 times so far. Don't feel like I have anything worth while to put enchants on or really enchants that'd be worth while to have on something decent.
Every time you enhance an item its level (and thus base stats) goes up by 1 for each 10 levels of the sealbook you used to enhance (kinda). From level 1-19 you get +1, 20-29 +2, 30-39 +3, 40-49 +4, and 50+ is +5. You can enhance an item 5 times so you can get up to +25 to the base level of the item you used, and a fully enhanced item is usually better than most uniques you have at that point in the game.
Every time you enhance, you also get random effects from the sealbook you used onto the item. If you use a sealbook with Max HP UP and DEF UP, your Leather Helm might get Max HP UP and DEF UP. The effects from the sealbook can either be added to the item in addition to those it already had, or it can replace some of them, or a weird mix of both. What you get is random, but if you cancel when the game asks you for confirmation, and try again with the same sealbook, you'll get a different result. You can repeat this until you get exactly what you want. Very annoying, but effective. All gear up to +49 can have 2 enchantments. Gear from 50-74 can have 3 enchantments, and 75+ gear can have four enchantments.
Early in the game, just get whatever helps you. If you need more HP, get Max HP UP. If your Spieler keeps draining their TP supply way too quickly, give them some TP recovery every turn. If your magic user spends ages chanting, give them three Chant speed UP. Note you cannot put every enchantment on every piece of gear, offensive enchantments like ATK UP and Physical attack UP can only go on weapons, and defensive enchantments like DEF UP and Elemental resistance UP cannot go on weapons. It all sounds kinda confusing at first but play around with it and you'll figure it out easily.

every time I think about pimping my equipment I stop myself thinking "it would be a waste since I can probably get even better sealbooks in the next area." when is a good time to do it?

It's always a good time to do it. You won't get more serious about enchanting gear until you start getting level 50 sealbooks at the start of postgame and can make gear with 3 enchantments. For now just use whatever and don't worry about it.

I don't want to waste time grinding books though if I can find better ones in the next dungeon.

Not him but if thats the case then just keep going, and enchant your equipments as you go. As long as you keep revealing most of the squares in the dungeons, you're more likely to get enough kills to make 1 seal book.
The real grinding starts around post game anyway where you can put 3 enchantment per equipments.

You'll naturally get better books just by playing through the game. Don't worry about it. By the start of postgame you will very rarely use books below level 50 anyways because they don't give the highest +5 levels to the item.

>when is a good time to do it?
When you can add another enchantment at +50 or +75. Those can be reached and used by starting with equipment of at least +30 and +55 respectively.
Went back to the Library and get the shop tutorial that explains in a bit.
This game really misses the timing on these tutorials. I've had all these shops open for like 3 dungeons now. I get that it's cause Soufelle is gonna join and got replaced, but still.
Got a Crowned Irena for Christmas.
You can actually kill a Morrighan or Astaroth if you're willing to gamble against their multi hit attack or piercing attacks, and if you ever kill them, its basically free level up.
Do someone knows a good place where to hunt generic Rings with +75 levels in 2-2? What I know is theres one spot in Gruneworth B6F that can be spammed till you got a ring on it but it has 2 other generic drops so it might take longer, and Plain of Lights Map 10 I think? Theres a respawning treasure there that only has rings as drops. Equipping Kaguya Grand Seal book is needed to increase the possible level of the ring when you got it. Pic is too good to be used since I only got one of it, but I got at least a few Godly Rings.
Oh, fantastic. I benched Lillian as soon as Grishna was available. Now that (most) of my party is 30 now I wouldn't mind leveling Lillian or Lizette up to see just how good Pappillion is. Also wouldn't mind having Fiora primed to go into MP too.
>I benched Lillian as soon as Grishna was available.
Congratulations, you fell for it. >Also wouldn't mind having Fiora primed to go into MP too.
MP at 30 is unusable.
>No ways to Dispel buffs
I don't think I can use a full Daedalus team like that. I'm worried I'll get nuked to dust when a superboss used a Loose Spirit or in Ecstasy, especially in 2-2 where the Leaf item is not as effective as before due to bosses getting crazy RES stat to lower its success rate. I'd stick to the usual DL,VL,JO,TH,ET boss killer team.
>What makes the Etoile good?
Debuffs. It get better at the later part of the game as it reduces enemy stats by percentage. Also, Magnificent Steps for messing up enemy turn orders but don't expect too much on it. >I've been using a diva but she just cooks every turn
You're using Chorale to give TP regen to your party? That and Cook is the best way to restore your TP without using items. Diva is better to take in early game as TP management is harder to do unlike late game where Treasure Hunter can use items more effectively to restore your TP.
etoile can significantly debuff enemy attack, speed, and randomly negates enemy turns. Or she can deal 500 damage whenever she gets a turn (e.g. while spamming cook). The dances come into effect immediately after you use them and they aren't affected by anti-magic zones.
>they aren't affected by anti-magic zones.
Oh yeah that too. Everything seems to work out in dancers' favor over bards. The only advantage of any real importance I can think of for bards is that their unique weapons in 2-2 tend to be one handed while dancers get two handed weapons (so just enchant an AGI+Speed dagger instead).
>What makes the Etoile good? I've been using a diva but she just cooks every turn
Like all maids, etoile gives you infinite TP. The effects of an etoile's dances are generally more useful than a bard's songs, and unlike songs, dances have no chant times. 90% of encounters are practically over by the time a diva's song activates, while etoiles can contribute to every fight. One dance does 500 unavoidable damage that pierces all defenses per turn, which probably will outdamage mistresses until they get their endgame whips, and is a good way to punch through tough enemies. Magnificent steps is like an 8% chance to skip any enemy attack and absolutely noting is resistant.
People say bard is better early on, but generous heart is better than chorale for restoring TP outside of boss fights and I think it's silly to use an inferior class just to save a meager amount of gold on TP restoration items for boss fights. Most of the time the stuff that drops is plenty.
Mazurka is the strongest skill in the game. It makes boss fights much much easier. It is so important that against some of the hardest bosses, Etoile dying is a massive panic moment, and if she's not immediately revived and Mazurka is used again the party will likely wipe.
Besides Mazurka she has Waltz for very strong damage mitigation, Samba and Hopak for increasing ally damage, and Salsa for fixed damage that cannot be mitigated by any means (though it's in my opinion not as good as it was in the first game where Salsa made ET the strongest damage dealer from 30 to just before endgame). She also has Magnificent Steps which can completely skip an enemy's turn, it cannot be resisted by anything, and no enemy, including superbosses, is immune to it. She also has Guts to help her survive otherwise deadly hits.
I use the first 5 units I get in DT2 and 2-2 so I'm stuck with Conette in DT2 and Yuni in 2-2. I mostly change into Ist in post game though because her unique is pretty great.
Conette is pretty fun though. If Mistress are actually good, shes gonna be the best one there.
So how do the rest of you go about leveling freshly joined party members when they're potentially 5+ levels under your current party and also below 30 for their advance jobs?
You give them the 2x experience ring and bring them with Papillon and no one else to the highest level place where you can quickly kill enemies with Rose Queen.
just bring them along when exploringnew floors, soon enough they'll catch up. High levels are a crutch, you can do wonders just with a solid battle plan.
that's just one of my older caps, I've got all seals halfway into my total playthrough - it's funny, you'd think that "sealing all monsters" is some epic task but it's actually the least of your worries
If you're using their melee skills then in front. They don't do much damage anyways. In 2-2 Sage can use Prism Dawn since it scales with RES and then she goes in the back.
Bishop can go offensive with Shine Curse assuming you are equipped with a staff. Even with the horrible cast time, its good for cleaning up enemies. Maces aren't exactly good until post game anyway.
Sage should go for a book, they need all the RES they can get. Bible Thump is pretty good for dealing both silence and freeze in one skill. Prism Dawn is bad unless its on 2-2, it got improved from what I remembered.
It's the "if needed" bit that gets me though.
I feel like I wouldn't just keep them in the front row all the time where their skills would make any kind of difference. And ya can't swap rows in battle like in the later EO games either. They just seem like confused classes to me?
They're mainly for support, you get Bishop for Circle Nurse, and Sage for Dispel. Both can get Circle Heal if their intermediate class is Priestess. The offensive skill is something they can do once they got free from supporting your team. Don't think too much about it.
Sage is a confused class because it lost its identity after DT2 made status ailments and its defensive buffs completely useless so now Sage is just a Bishop with Dispel instead of Circle Nurse. Bishop can go in front to whack stuff when no healing is needed, but their damage is not particularly impressive so they can stay back.
Which dances do you normally use on Etoile? I suppose Mazurka is a must, Hopak looks great but Waltz and Samba also do
Also, do you drop Maid skills whatsoever? I think they're way too important to explore dungeons and keep the TP engine of the party running
>Which dances do you normally use on Etoile?
Mazurka + Samba for clearing mobs.
When it comes to boss, its situational but usually, Mazurka + Waltz so I can survive. If in case a RES100 was in play, Waltz + Salsa. Hopak got its place but rarely.
>Also, do you drop Maid skills whatsoever?
No, its always there especially Clean and Cook where it gets better the longer you are in the game. Never forget about them, they're essential.
Mazurka and Waltz is the standard but some people use Mazurka and Salsa. Samba + Hopak has uses in some situations. The rest of the turns are spent cooking.
Thank you. I'm using the chance in the ice cave to build my first etoile, they have so many good sounding skills that I was scared of fricking up the skill points.
Cook can stay at level 1 basically the entire game. Get one point in Self-Sacrifice too for a big TP injection once per fight. You want to max out Generous Heart and Maid Mastery (which also affects Generous Heart) at some point, ideally as soon as possible. Get one point in Guts and Magnificent Steps just to have a chance to trigger them, get one point in Waltz or some other dance of choice, then try to max out Mazurka and Dance Mastery. At very low levels Mazurka will feel like it doesn't do anything, but as you level it and Dance Mastery it starts to get pretty ridiculous.
Mazurka and Waltz is the standard but some people use Mazurka and Salsa. Samba + Hopak has uses in some situations. The rest of the turns are spent cooking.
random fights: waltz -> cook
most boss fights and strong enemies: waltz -> marzuka
bosses that your team can barely damage: waltz -> salsa
one point in everything, more in maid mastery, dance mastery, and waltz. and the end-of-battle healing skill. Then comes marzuka, salsa, and the skill that eats enemy turns.
or you can use the def decreasing dance in random fights if you're confident in your defenses
Waltz, samba, and mazurka are the most useful dances in general. Clean is great for battles that will last more than one or two rounds and cook is great in general. Generous heart is the overall most useful TP recovery skill. Run away from one or two fights and you're back in business.

Mazurka is almost a total waste against mobs. They should generally be on the ropes by their second turn even without mazurka. Waltz or samba are good options in most random encounters.
Max Mazurka before Waltz, it's much more valuable
They're both important and it makes way more sense to have two dances at level 6 than one at level 8.
Two more points in mazurka will not make a noticeable difference, six more points in waltz will often turn one hit kills into two hit kills. The way SP costs skyrocket at high levels mean it's almost never a good idea to blow all your SP on maxing one thing over picking up a variety of skills. Dance mastery also incentivizes spreading your points around. Mazurka is only particularly good in long fights and it's stupid to not have two dances up in long fights.
>Mazurka is almost a total waste against mobs. They should generally be on the ropes by their second turn even without mazurka. Waltz or samba are good options in most random encounters.
Personally, thats fine in DT2 but in 2-2 where you don't have a free berserk and the enemies post game can be pretty tough due to being HP sponges, slowing them down can be an option too, also some enemies there uses Preparation that can have a surprising buff to their turn speed.
Maybe if you're using a team with poor damage but that doesn't sound fun. Bring a papillon, give her a psychogun, and say goodbye to long trash fights. Mazurka has no effect until the enemy's next turn so in random battles it often achieves literally nothing.

The first ones you can get are from Gear Castle which is the second to last postgame dungeon. You can kill Seiryu from Dragon Sphere, or materialize Crimson Slapyon for Bavarian Cream. The most obvious one is Leaf, which has infinite uses, but drops from a superboss.
Much better and not even close. The dungeons are more interesting and there's more to combat than auto attacks. That said, if what you liked about Galleria was the story then you're not going to like Dungeon Travelers since it's an excuse plot that's only there to have something rather than nothing at all. The characters are great though.
Been away from this game's threads for a while. DT1 was finally announced? Shiravune had suggested they were going to release it during the DT2/2 releases then went dark.
Yeah, To Heart 2 got announced and has a steam page. Still no word on DT2 or 2-2 showing up on any other storefront since they brought up the possibility just after release.
Tf you talking about? DT2-2 has the least grind of the three, and DT2 is not grind free, though you can take everyone to 30 which doesn't take long at all and use them like that.
I think these games are made in mind that you take your time mapping things out and occasionally getting lost in the dungeons. Except some specific cases like postgame doors in 2 but honestly grind needed in postgame is kinda expected.
The thing is that a level 30 in postgame is a walking corpse, yet getting to 50 takes quite a while... No way I'm downgrading someone from my main team to 50, even moreso to a bad class like Kunoichi or Doll Master, so I end up stuck in the ice cave for 50 minutes grinding up someone in a 2 girl party with Lilian. It's boring as hell.
>finally finish DT2 postgame >still missing 67 sub-events
Shieeeeeeet. By the way what's the easiest or fastest way to bottom out motivation? A few events require it.
>By the way what's the easiest or fastest way to bottom out motivation?
Repeatedly dying and resurrecting them. DT2-2 solves this problem by introducing pep reducing items. Now pep maxing items becomes rarer there.
You're the anon that 100%'d DT2, right? How many hours did it take you?
I haven't crowned anybody or fought the wandering/therian gods yet, but have already surpassed 250 hours.
are you doing some extra completionist stuff? you should have killed all the gods by 100-120 hours of playtime

you can continue progressing through the game with four characters + one lvl30 deadweight, and if that deadweight gains exp along the way you'll be able to reclass at 50 for later doors
>You're the anon that 100%'d DT2, right?
Well, aside from not getting Award 19 for some reason, yep. Dunno if I can cheat engine that or something. I bothers me. One thing I advice you is to kill Seraph, the last non god boss in Bogomil last so make sure you kill the optional bosses before her. >How many hours did it take you?
Around 500 hours so double your playtime more I guess. The grinding can take really long so only do it if you have a lot of time in your hand, like a week or two. >I haven't crowned anybody or fought the wandering/therian gods yet, but have already surpassed 250 hours.
Best you can do is to fight the one in the Abyssal Darkness when you got a Fortune Sword in Bogomil 6F. What you need is a full elemental resistance, a good Magical Princess, Soul Summoner for class doors and 3 other unit since theres a 4 unit party door restriction as well. Make sure to get that broken Slaughtering Daeva when you kill her.
Jesus Christ, when does the Samsara dungeon end? A normal dungeon, a locked part behind it, a class door that leads back to the entrance, and a deeper part behind a boss with some scary elites wandering around? And frick, I feel the small inventory size going in there. I feel like I get 3/4 of the way through a new tendril by the time I'm chucking shit out.
The annoying part is the one way doors you'll found when you reach the deeper areas after the TH class doors, making you go back all over the class door again. Man, filling them all up was an annoying experience. Unfortunately, Samara is not the only dungeon with that kind of one way door/wall traps.
I'm not saying it's not fun. But it's a bit draining when you spend an entire day in the same dungeon and are left feeling like you've made no progress.
If anything the game speeds up in the postgame, you can blitz through battles with MP + therian seal and drag around a low level team member or two without any issues. The dungeons are more fun to explore, too
I stopped to "grind" a bit at the end but it was very brief. In bogomil annex I wanted some weapon from the wandering merchant so I ran around without fighting battles until he showed up. And when I was making my final equipment I went to the first door in gear castle, killed an enemy whose sealbook gave elemental resist, ran from battle, then repeated until I got the necessary sealbook.
Speaking of the Wandering Merchant, is there anything ever worth while looking out to buy in the early-mid game (I honestly don't know where I'm at atm. I'm on my way to the hot spring)
I got the tutorial that their prices are fake and don't indicate if something is more valuable or not. And even though I've been hoarding all the food items I find, idk if any of it is ever worth buying off them.
>I got the tutorial that their prices are fake and don't indicate if something is more valuable or not
This is a lie, unique equipment will always be priced way higher than average--the more expensive, the better
Not in the early game, but a healthy supply of Tarte Tatin is going to be helpful in the late game. They're healing items that restore 500 HP to the entire party, 1000 HP if used by a Treasure Hunter with maxed Item Mastery. This is the main way of healing in endgame.
stock up on tarte tatins
and I always buy shields, helms, armors and swords to have spares for AGI+speed or speed+speed builds (so that everyone gets 5 speed ups, the rest AGI)
probably not required but whatever
Guess its you just getting burnt out.
I don't think you need to grind in post game unless its for Crowning, your party will hit Lv.99 easily so as long as you have MP and PA for mob clearing. For the class door restriction, just bring 1 unit that you need then give her the Double EXP ring and continue on.
As for the draining dungeons, personally, thats Abyssal Darkness to me with its big rooms with both one way walls and dark zones. It gets better when you hit Dawa Shrine.
Currently at the one where you pay to open the doors, it's not as bad as Abyssal Darkness though, that one was awful.
I think I'm not dropping the game, but I'll just take it slower now, stop grinding books/materialization, and just sweep once I get stronger equipment and levels
2-2's post-endgame seems really tough. Even the 8 otherworld gods were generally not too bad in 2, but here I'm getting messed up all the time by even Therian midbosses. Are we expected to crown or farm rare drops to get by?
I beat the superbosses just fine without any level reset. They are much harder than those in 2 though. Magna Meretrix hits very hard, even with Waltz and Material Guard, and Tenerezza is straight up brutal and probably the second hardest fight in the series. I've heard people wipe to her even with fully crowned parties. Doable though. The usual VL TH JO ET strat works.
Not him but thanks. I'm also lost what to do to get the Four Therian Gods sidequest.

Huh. Thanks.
>Are we expected to crown or farm rare drops to get by?
Maybe for rare drops like Brynhildr's Plume but not Crowning. I'm doing this since I crown all the characters in DT2 so I want to do the same in 2-2 as well.
Does anyone know how stats work in this game? Does DEF work against magic attacks or just physicals? Does RES do less against magic attacks than DEF does for physical attacks? A buff that gives me +30% AGI seems to make turns for that character come up a lot more than 30% more frequently. Is there some kind of exponential scaling on AGI?
DEX seems to affect accuracy, critical hits, and I think evasion.
I don't think anyone really knows, especially since the formulas have changed a bit throughout the series. What I know for sure is that, at least in the first game, DEF only mitigates physical damage and RES only mitigates magical damage.
About AGI, it's not the only factor. Each skill has a speed multiplier, some skills like Berserk have high multipliers and are much faster than skills like Spiral Arrow with a very low multiplier. Your weapon's speed rank also influences speed. There is a cap beyond which it's not possible to be any faster, which depends on your weapon's speed rank. The cap is also one of the reasons Mazurka is much better than March, you start getting diminishing returns the higher your AGI goes, until past a certain point it straight up does nothing.
Do those limits also apply to enemies? Could there be enemies whose speed is so far above the limit that even with mazurka they are still above the limit?
>Do those limits also apply to enemies?
Yes. >Could there be enemies whose speed is so far above the limit that even with mazurka they are still above the limit?
Yes. Aion in TH2DT is a very obvious example. I don't know any enemy in DT2 or DT2-2 that is fast enough for Mazurka to do nothing though. Even then, you could layer Mazurka, Slow, Speed Down, and AGI Down to slow them anyways.
Also because of skill multipliers and weapon speed, at a certain amount of AGI some skills might hit the cap and all further AGI is wasted, but some of the skills with lower multipliers can still be improved, so it's very rare for your AGI to actually be wasted unless you're crowning and using a very fast weapon.
Closest one I know is Odin in DT2-2. Once her HP goes critical, she will activate Preparation then uses Great Escape, which is Phys ATK UP, Speed UP and Clone in one buff. She can easily outspeed your Lv.99 units in turn speed, and will use Parry later if her HP hits 25%. Mazurka won't do much when she buff herself up so you either defend for 3 turns till her buffs expire or try your chance to dispel all of it via Sage.
I remember her base AGI is around 180. Definitely got buffed from DT2.
People are saying DT2-2 is easier but that's not my experience at all. DT2's MP makes the entire game a joke.

Probably because Guns are broken when a PA equips it. In story mode where you can ignore weapon speed rank, guns are the best equipment for PA and then they can Rose Queen the enemies to oblivion like the way it was during DT2, albeit with a slight skill delay and accuracy decrease.
Once post game hit where you should consider making enchanted equipments for your team, halfway through the Psychogun appears and its broken as hell, so great you wish you have another one of it.

PA even with Psychogun is not as broken as MP though, and DT2-2's enemies and bosses are considerably harder on their own (more enemies with passives, bosses hit harder and have more gimmicks).

As for MP, they got the nerf stick. Decrease Magical Change stat up, increased Magical Spark skill delay and general nerf in their unique equipments just made them not as OP as before. I'll see how much a crowned Melvy will get as an MP in 2-2 once I've done crowning everyone, it looks interesting. >DT2-2's enemies and bosses are considerably harder on their own (more enemies with passives, bosses hit harder and have more gimmicks).
Thats true, considering 2-2 has less post game dungeons than DT2, making enemies more harder in general seems to be expected. You can breeze through the post game dungeons in DT2 easily with a PA + MP in your party.

I know, I mean DT2-2 PA with Psychogun is not as broken as MP was in DT2. MP is not that good in 2-2. MP in DT2 was so overpowered that it single-handedly made the game much easier than DT2-2 is.
I think I figured out what might be crashing DT2 for me and it's gonna sound real stupid. But I think having windows "On-Screen Keyboard" open will just eventually cause the game to crash.
I like to lay down and play from bed, so I've got that open rather than pulling the keyboard out. It's never crashed when I was sitting up. Fricking weird and no surprise that no one else would have had it happen to them.
That would make item progression linear. Its gonna be a chase to the next unique equipment to other then, and you have no way of modifying a generic equipment to your liking. Either you're gonna hunt for uniques or get generics with good enchantments via enemy drops sounds painful.
I do like that they introduce Ring exclusive enchantment in 2-2 like All Stat +12 or Interruption Rate Mega Down. You don't really need them but they're pretty helpful.
>That would make item progression linear.
Item progression is already linear. >you have no way of modifying a generic equipment to your liking
This is a good thing. >Either you're gonna hunt for uniques
You get them from treasure chests. Hunting for uniques in endgame is fine. >or get generics with good enchantments via enemy drops
Not needed, they can do something like the Mandra Princess chest.
The only real downside is "it's annoying to get good enchantments on generic gear" but that's a good thing because the alternative is that 99% of gear in the game is useless and over half the classes are also useless.
If you're going to keep it then yes, revamp it so the player can choose the enchantments rather than it being random, but in an ideal world it's completely removed since it's arguably the worst thing to happen to the series.
I'd settle for just not having him be a random encounter. I can never find him when I need him and he shows up all the time when I don't have a book with AGI up for the next upgrade.
I rotated my fighters once Grishna and Alisa hit 50 since I got Yae awhile ago and wanted to class change them. (Alisa went Valk>Sam, Grishna DL>Valk, and Yae Sam>DL)
Is yae's activation on her passive just lower than Grishna and Alisa's? I've been using her all day now and only had it proc once. I know she's 15-ish levels behind atm, but it shouldn't make *that* much of a difference, right?
I'm done. I finally Crowned all of them. Took me a month and few days though. Double the time I took to Crown everyone in DT2 then theres 2 more characters so thats extra more.
The grinding may be easier but the crowning is actually longer than before. Instead of resetting from Lv.61 -> Lv.1 for +2 in DT2, its Lv.70 -> Lv.1 for +2 in 2-2, making the process longer. The best place to grind is in Plains of Light Map 8 but almost every enemy there will one shot you if your carry is not crowned so make a crowned Papillon first in Ruined Shrine B3F where its easier to grind but less EXP.
Theres still more to do though like that all joint skill Award that can be annoying to do.
Finished the annoying award. There are some bullshit requirements like 3x Witch in a party that you need to manually raise each pep, and a 100% TP joint skill that requires 2x Joker and with all your party's pep maxed out, that will reduced their pep to zero once you use it.
As long as you have at least 2 copies of Midnight Queen, Fortune Sword and Divine Slate, you'll mostly be fine but Scout classes, most of the Maid class and Witches needs to have their pep raised manually.
Completionist anon, how painful was it to unlock all of DT2-2's subevents? I'm still finishing DT2 and going through its subevents, but the conditions for unlocking some of them have been a pain in the ass. It took nearly 2 hours for this little Black person to successfully steal from me once for event 94. I don't want to go through this pain a second time, so I'm starting to wonder if I should borrow a 100% save for DT2-2 so I can save myself the trouble and watch the subevents at my leisure after finishing post-game.
>Completionist anon, how painful was it to unlock all of DT2-2's subevents?
Well, care to grind Grishna until you crown her? Thats the most painful one. The cat stealing can be a pain but thats nothing.
>I should have played it the first time around but the lack of cute dialogue turned me away.
Hunting for sub events is an option. There are still short dialogues during post game and the last dungeon is basically going for the final boss's home area and smacking her one more time. Its a 30 floor tower though so it really takes time.
Theres the Cat Eye enemy in the post game, go try your luck there if it really won't do. Another annoying one is dropping a character's pep to get events. I suggest you read a guide and chain events that needs characters to have low pep and do their events consecutively. >so I'm starting to wonder if I should borrow a 100% save for DT2-2 so I can save myself the trouble and watch the subevents at my leisure after finishing post-game.
As for this, I'm actually not done with 2-2 myself. Clocking around 480 hours now and I'm just finalizing my team's level. I really should go to VIP area now but the autism to max them all is there. I still don't have all events in 2-2 too but those are basically just about me destroying the Wandering Brigade and getting the true end, around 98%.

Wait, you're actually referring to DT2-2 sub-events, not DT2.
Its actually easier since there are maps with zero encounters so you can freely trigger events that only requires items and steps. Pep management is also easier with Pep lowering equipments. No more bullshit that is crowning Grishna anymore, but she has an event that requires you to level reset her down to 1.
There is an event thats easy to miss and gets harder to get the longer you play; event 157, requiring you to have Tsurara + Yuni and under 1k gold. Just make sure to get this in early game so you won't need to burn down your gold later. If you enjoy the Therian duo then unfortunately, they're not as fun compared to DT2.
I beat the main story in DT2. But I'm thinking forward on my part comp. Pretty much since Grishna joined the group my parties been DL/Valk/TH//Witch/ET
I like DL's abilities since they do decent damage to both rows and single targets. Valk is valk. TH feels like the weak link since they basically just heal, defend, or fish for interrupts with Weak Stab. Witch is my big dick damage right now. And Etoile is just good.
I know I should probably have a speiler, but I don't like how one sided they are in either group damage or all in single damage. I feel like I should eventually switch off to a MP at some time too, but idk when their mana problems stop being a problem making them worth while?
Your Witch is about to hit the damage wall hard. Consider changing her to Magical Princess later. Since you finished the story, go take the Freyja sword and go to the room where Vitoria is and fight her to get the Vanadis sword, its gonna help you alot. Their TP problems will be easy once you get a Grand Seal book that reduce like 50% TP consumption but with a fast Maid unit, its not gonna be a problem.
Treasure Hunter is more on support and item stealing so keep her with a generic dagger until you find something like a Shamrock later, then a Phantom Edge, with a Slaughtering Daeva being its best equipment but give it to a Joker first.
Dark Lord will be useful to you until you get the Leaf item. Its more reliable on dispelling enemy buffs and they get nastier in post game so keep her in the team.
Go get a Papillon, her and a Magical Princess will make most trash mobs an easy job. Shes gonna be stuck with a generic longsword though until she got a Hyakka Ryouran.
That's as good a push in a direction as I need. I'll check out the villa again.
lvl50: ET, MP, DL, PA, [BS/TH]
lvl90: ET, MP, VL, PA, SG
(assuming you get the therian seal)
Might be better to use a second MP instead of PA but this way you train more classes and can reclass to JO when you get an endgame weapon. Sometimes you'll have to drop a unit for a door key. Also I recommend swapping between two maids so you can have MI+ET for endgame.
I've seen people mention the therian seal, what is it/where should I be looking to find it?
Also, I'm trying to have all the girls be unique classes. My main party is all 51-53 except Yae who's like 45 playing catch up with the exp ring. Everyone else is lvl 30.
Therian seal is an item that applies lvl5 berserk to one of your characters and you can use the item infinitely. You get it by doing some events with souffle, you'll have to look it up.
What's good about mistress?
I've been thinking about two etoiles for casting the four dances and omega cooking
Technically MI is a bit faster and better at TP restoration than ET. One dance is enough for random battles, anyway. But ET is obviously way better overall due to third tier skills. The reason MI is worth mentioning is because there is a class door that forces you to use one against the boss of gear castle. You should fight this boss last because another boss drops MI armor.
Double ET would be fantastic in boss fights but the game isn't hard enough to require it, so it's faster to use a single ET and more dps. Especially if that maid is Ist, her maid skills are superior due to her personal skill.
You can train up a second ET once you're near the end and reclass her to MI at 90.
I think the distraction skill stacks.

I hope you're not too attached to Witch. They are certified hot garbage in postgame. Otherwise the party is good.
Magical Princess is the strongest class in the game, way too strong, arguably the unfun kind of strong that trivializes the entire game. They're good to go from 50, the only requirement is to enchant as much AGI and Speed on your gear as possible, this is especially priority for MP. Max out Magical Change and Magical Slash, max out Magical Spark as soon as possible.
Spieler is excellent. Get a Papillon, it makes trash fights 10 times easier and they can still do OK single target damage with Danger Shoot. In endgame you're not going to get any better damage than Joker, it's not even close.
That's as good a push in a direction as I need. I'll check out the villa again.

Therian Seal is level 5 Berserk on target, infinitely reusable, massive damage boost. Hurts balance a bit though, probably why it's not in 2-2.

Mistress is hot garbage but the hardest boss fight in the game is behind a Mistress class door. You can just bring a level 30 Mistress though.
It sucks, cause yeah, Witches been my primary damage for the majority of the game. But I need to reclass Melvy anyways since I've finally got Irena.
As far as my MU's go, I'm thinking Melvy is Sage, El is Bishop, Fiora is MP, and Irena is Witch. Not that passives really make that much of a difference if your names not Ist.
You can swiftly transition Witch into Magical Princess and make no other changes. They will be your primary damage dealer for the rest of the game, until you start using Joker for the superbosses, but even then Joker is optional and MP can kill them too without any issues, Joker just kills them faster.
Yae's passive actually matters quite a bit. You can get two actions in a turn. If Yae is your Dark Lord, you can hit three Power Charge attacks in a single use of Power Charge. If Yae is your Valkyrie, you can Cover and Parry in one turn.
I rotated my fighters once Grishna and Alisa hit 50 since I got Yae awhile ago and wanted to class change them. (Alisa went Valk>Sam, Grishna DL>Valk, and Yae Sam>DL)

I swapped around my fighters. How do you get three attacks from 2 actions though?
Grinding my Crowned character in Plains of Light Map 11 is great once you got a Gungnir and an almost maxed out Valkyrie. The Attack Zone + Lightning Zone can multiply the damage many times like 5000 damage per hit of Daedalus, even better if its Yae with her double action unique which got even better chance to activate when Crowned. You go ripping everything there, even the Fudo Myouou and Myrrdin. Its not a solo grind spot though since the enemies will just gang up on your carry if you do.
>How do you get three attacks from 2 actions though?
Yae's passive allows you to act once more in the same turn. If she uses Power Charge on her first turn and her unique activates, she can use Power Charge once more. Once her next turn comes, she can unleash her attack for 3x the damage. Power Charge only last for one turn so she needs to attack the next turn or else the buff will expire so Yae's the one who can use Power Charge twice in the same turn if her unique activates.

>use Power Charge twice
That doesn't work. You use Power Charge, Yae's passive activates, and you attack. Then next turn you still have Power Charge, so you attack. Then Yae's passive activates, and you attack again, still under Power Charge since it doesn't wear off until the next turn. That's three total attacks with Power Charge.

I see, thought the Power Charge effect stacks. Its actually about attacking while the buff lasts. Admittedly, I just read about Yae as a Dark Lord but I prefer using her as a defensive Valkyrie.

Ahh, interesting. Still hinges on her procing her passive twice in a row though. And considering I've been using her for the last 20-ish hours and had her passive proc a grand total of twice, I'm not gonna be banking on that being a viable gamble in any fights

The probability gets higher as her level increases. It ends up being high enough to proc several times during a boss fight. It doesn't have to proc twice in a row for Power Charge, that's just the best case scenario. Regardless of how it procs, you get two actions in a turn which makes it the strongest unique skill in the game. Being able to reapply Cover and Parry in a single turn is huge. Those skills are very slow, you can use Cover and before you can use Parry the next turn your Cover is down again. If you want to use Material Guard on top of that you're even more screwed. This is why most people use her as a Valkyrie.
I want to play 2-2 because of features like changing character artwork, but I feel like I need to finish 2 first for continuity, but I'm unmotivated to finish 2 because I want to be spending my time on 2-2 instead. how much is left to just beat the story if I just got the princess character and her maid?
Two of the three dungeons that are left are some of the best in the game. Don't sour the experience like that. Just go play 2-2 if you want to play 2-2.
If your favorite girl is Irena then you'll have a full party before you can get her. Also, the cloth shop will not be open for some time.
You better off finishing DT2 first before hitting the sequel. One of the chapters in 2-2 is a rehash of DT2 plotline.
The cloth shop didn't really interest me since I mostly prefer their class costumes. I only start using them once I did my crowning grind, and in 2-2, class costume persist through story events and sub events and I prefer them in their class costume. The swimsuits are nice to look at but you'll eventually get used on them. I do wish everyone actually got special costumes but only select few got them like Monica on a purple dress, but she already has her Tavern costume as her special costume.
Walking into that ice cave and further up Tver, I guess I should expect to see gimmick doors more often? Kinda sucks... Trying to level 2 people and don't want to leave either behind.
Make sure you got all 16 advanced class spread all even to your units just to make your life easier swapping units. I prefer doing this than level resetting each time a class door blocks me. Just set all your units to Lv.50 so its easier to bring them later. Later, there will be 2 doors to stop your progress before you can hit a shortcut so get used on going with 4 party members. At the last post game dungeon, theres even a 1 party member door.
Jesus Christ how horrifying...
Yeah. That's been the plan. But the majority of them are still at lvl 30. Leveling is kinda slow. I know the whole, go in with a PA yadda yadda, but my PA is hitting for maybe 3-400 damage atm, can't exactly solo yet.
Try to bring less members for grinding, like a PA for carry, a unit you grind and a Maid for TP recovery.
Tver is good only for setting your units to Lv.30, I think the Library Depths is for Lv.50 but don't thats because I played DT2 really slow. I just like setting up my whole unit for the grand finale type of thing. My main team ends up being Lv.70+ because of this.
I grinded a few other girls to 50 in Ice Cave first floor, Papillon one-hits everything first floor and you can exit-reenter to refill TP
Now I'm trying to push as far as I can so next time I grind I have more levels and stronger weapons to kill stronger enemies
You don't really need to go past 50. Grinding gets easier the further you are into the game. If you have a good party you can carry one or two level 1 party members just fine.

Yeah I first check if the level.30s can be used behind their doors, if they don't I take them to 50. So far my team has been doing fine even carrying a corpse sometimes
I stopped after beating the main story and all of this grinding autism has piqued my interest for a second playthrough and doing the post game. How much of the ridiculous level resetting and grinding is actually required for the post game and how much is just people maxing out stats due to completionism?
That doesn't seem bad at all. So they really are just a continuation of the game with no story elements and are not just grindfests for weird people? I should have played it the first time around but the lack of cute dialogue turned me away.
The only game that requires grinding is the first one, where you finish all the dungeons in the level 70s and now you gotta fight level 99 bosses. At least EXP is quite easy to farm.
The main grind is for unique gear in endgame. The drop rate for these is stupidly low, you can spend an hour or two grinding for an item and not see a drop. Some guy here will tell you these are optional, and they are, but they offer a huge advantage. In the first game this grind is absolutely not optional because you cannot enchant custom gear so all good gear comes from rare drops.
There are some story events here and there
Also lots of unlockable events with your girls too. Though the requeriments are quite obscure, I'd recommend a guide (some require forced grinding)
>I should have played it the first time around but the lack of cute dialogue turned me away.

The postgame is pretty much just the part of the game after the first ending. Though the bosses at the end of the postgame do feel much more like postgame than endgame material. DT2's superbosses were somewhere in between.
Yes the postgame of DT2 is literally just more of the same dungeon + combat gameplay with less story. There's a bit of a difficulty bump at the end when you fight the 8 gods of the otherworld but they still don't require specific team setups or level resetting or farming for rare drops. 2-2's superbosses are a lot meaner but even they don't require any resetting.
Just started this game a few days ago because I liked TH2, pretty fun so far, the girls are cute but I feel a little guilty over using some of the TH2 girls like Mary.
I like Sasara's skill since I'm using her as a Tank, she gets a bonus with shields.
If you like TH2, the first game in the series follows the TH2 cast. Takaaki and friends get trapped in a game world and they try to find a way to escape. They get dialogue and sub-events and everything, unlike the TH2 DLC characters in DT2. I also happen to think it's the best game in the series anyways (at least the PSP version).
[...]
Tamaki deals increased damage against enemies of a higher level (and also the same level in the Vita version). Sasara gets higher defense when equipped with a shield. Ikuno deals more damage against enemies with status ailments. Nanako has the same unique as Fiora. Ruu has a chance to immediately recast the same spell with zero TP cost or chant time (so Inferno hits twice, as an example). Haruka has the same unique as Ist. Maaryan has the same unique as Yae.
The PSP version is kinda jank because it doesn't have some QoL (the biggest offender being you can only reset to level 1) but the balance is better. Magic users (including magic-heavy classes like Utahime and Kunoichi) don't drop off a cliff past a certain point, because the higher your speed, the faster your chants, and at high enough speed magic doesn't have to be chanted and activates instantly just like techniques do (though spells with very long chant times like those of Witch never become instant, at least without a crown). This also makes Diva/Utahime better because not only is March instant now just like Mazurka, it also speeds up your chants, which Mazurka doesn't do. Kunoichi is also very strong because scrolls are also instant in the late game, and Shadow Sew works on anything regardless of level. Overall the system is quite different, whereas the Vita version is just DT2 but worse.
That's too bad. I always disliked how the rules for chanting and interruption work against magic users and bards so much and they get nothing to compensate for it. Sounds like that wasn't always the case.
Chanting is cool in concept but the implementation means they eventually become a burden. Scanner is a decent compromise but that has other problems, like locking you out of other, better sealbooks, and really just delaying the problem instead of solving it.
The PSP implementation is not perfect either but it's better. You can choose not to equip a weapon for faster chants, but now you have less INT so you have lower accuracy/damage, or less RES so you heal for (a lot) less. I used a Sage the entire game and if I had to leave someone behind because of a class door, I left behind the damage dealer rather than the Sage because of how powerful her support skills are and being a magic user was never a burden.

Any good unique skill among the TH2 girls?

Yeah you finally get some decent abilities, those midboss encounter monsters start showing up, and the dungeon designs start getting really good, all around level 30.
That's probably one of its biggest weaknesses. The start is very slow. It picks up a bit at 15 but still nothing special, but it really opens up at 30.
>Crowned them all then set them to Lv.99.
I should continue at the VIP area now. At this point the other awards should be all about killing stuffs and completing the Libra Books.
Looks like the 50 awards is at sight. Hopefully, I'll get it this time.
Finally go there and they really made the bosses hard there. The time where you can bring a solo Joker and wreck everyone there are gone, they're too tough now.
That therian boss with 5000 ATK now has a Supergravity Cage so you can't just simply wail on it like before.
Seems like it would take some time to reveal the Libra Book info of all enemies there.
Yeah, after 2's overly gentle postgame, I'm surprised at how mean 2-2's is, if only at the very end. I definitely won't be going through the VIP room more than once.
They upped their stats and resistance so you're not gonna hit as hard as before, even with your Etoile debuffing them. Since I'm going to get everything there, I'll just try to experiment what setup can bust them down fast, gotta make use of the perks of having a full crowned party.
So I just got the Etlym at the bottom of the dungeon, do I even bother forging stronger longswords or do I keep it until I can farm uniques in the last dungeon?
If its DT2 then thats a step up from Vanadis. You can still get a better sword later at Bogomil so just keep it. Enchanted weapons are still useful until you hit Bogomil.
>I'll just try to experiment what setup can bust them down fast, gotta make use of the perks of having a full crowned party.
Seems that a EN -> MP and JO is the best units for killing the boss in VIP area. Just enchant your attackers with the right element, use Samba and Hopak for lowering both boss Def and Elemental Resistance then go ham with them. With the right setup, your JO can deal 3,000 - 5,000 damage per hit of Danger Shoot.
Also, Chain Spike can be enchanted. I thought its not possible in DT2.
Nearly everything that doesn't specify an attribute in its description can be enchanted. Probably the best implementation of enchants. Enchanting literally every skill in DT1 PSP is arguably too far, but you can only enchant like 3 skills in DT2.
Does this game have actual nudity and h-scenes or is it all convenient censorship and implied/suggestive scenes? Exactly how h is this game?
I typically like dungeon crawlers and have been looking for a new-to-me erogame, but censored nudity is a huge turn off to me.
The three Dungeon Travelers games are all convenient censorship and implied, (very) suggestive scenes. The grandfather of the series, Final Dragon Chronicle: Guilty Requiem, has nudity but no sex (there's a very spicy tentacle scene though), but that game is nowhere near as good as the others.
So I just got the Etlym at the bottom of the dungeon, do I even bother forging stronger longswords or do I keep it until I can farm uniques in the last dungeon?
DT2-2? Thats the strongest 1H sword for MP. You can try your hands on a Filsword if you prefer equipping 2H swords for your MP, but its not as strong as it was in the previous game.
Once you got unique weapons, you can stop making enchanted weapons due to the difference in stats.
Gotta squeeze every possible DEF for that max damage.
One thing I don't like in collecting stuffs in end game is the super bosses won't respawn until you kill the others first. It makes unlocking their Libra Book drop info time consuming.
Also, theres still request after defeating the true final boss, but I'm the type who put it last in the list.
Meletrix, Tenerreza and Lolo got normal drops too, and I need Lolo's drop for a quest, as well as Meletrix's Daikingatatachi.
I just done a few loops today, and now I see why Tenerreza's true form is bullshit. Lolo got Absolute Preemptive Attack, making the beginning awful for you as she cast Evasion Up and you can't dispel it due to her high RES, then Tenerreza got some bullshit skill like Critical Fist that can hit you for 2,000 damage instantly. Its like a Trickster's Surprise Fist skill but has no accuracy problems. My whole team is already crowned but she can wipe me out if she wants.
DT2-2 seems noticeably more grindy and bothersome than 2
I'm guessing it's not a good idea to play one right after the other, burn out seems very plausible
But I did jump right in 2-2 after I completed DT2, but you're right its not a good idea. Even for how little the story has in DT2, I jump right to 2-2 because I really liked the cast and don't want to miss out of the story.
I did play a short ARPG in DS when I felt the burn out after the hellish Crown Grinding. I didn't expect how broad the stuff you can do in 2-2 compared to DT2. 2-2 may have less post game dungeon but it sure is more time consuming on stuffs you can do.
DT2-2 seems noticeably more grindy and bothersome than 2
I'm guessing it's not a good idea to play one right after the other, burn out seems very plausible
I don't think it's more grindy, but it's definitely more frustrating because the game is straight up harder. The enemies have more HP, hit harder, and it really feels like every enemy has Avenger, Mind's Eye, Knock Down, and half their attacks dispel. And you can't cheese the entire postgame with Magical Princess.
Not him, but I'm thinking of going back to 1 after I finish this run of 2 before going on to 2-2. I haven't heard much about 1 so I'm curious how that's going to pan out. I'm ready for it to be a bit tougher around the edges but I'm wondering what all I've taken for granted that 2 introduced that wasn't around in 1. I know spieler doesn't exist, otherwise I dunno.
Spieler doesn't exist.
The blacksmith doesn't exist.
The ramen and ice cream vendors don't exist.
Enemies form a single row instead of two. Onikagura, Phoenix, Shock Spiral, etc. hit all enemies.
Anti-magic and dark zones don't exist.
You don't get a sealbook after defeating 9 monsters, you use an item that seals the monster if they're at low HP (think Materialize but it has a 100% chance of working) and you get the sealbook.
Accessories and sealbooks share a slot.
Status ailments are effective against many bosses. You can Freeze or Silence a boss to disable some of their skills. Very early game you can disable ALL the skills of some bosses. As you progress into the game enemies start gaining immunities to various status ailments but it's not until very late game that they completely fall off.
Kunoichi's scrolls have a damage cap of 1000.
Shine Curse deals very high damage (way higher base magic value than Witch AoE spells) but only works on undead.
Heal and Circle Heal have no HP cap.
Witch does not have single target elemental spells.
Berserker is called Dark Knight (DK).
Magical Spark does not exist.
Diva is called Utahime (UH, means the same in Japanese).
Etoile is called Master Idol (MI).
Salsa can hit the damage cap of 500 even at level 1 with no dance mastery (side remark, this makes Master Idol by far the strongest damage dealer against bosses for around 85% of the game).
Mistress does not exist. Instead there is a class called Joshi Kousei (JK). She can equip most gear in the game, and can use every skill from Fighter, Paladin, Dark Knight, Scout, Archer, Assassin, Maid, and either Bard or Dancer depending on which one you picked as your intermediate class.
Circle Nurse has 10 levels. Levels 8 and 9 do the same thing as level 7 but at higher TP cost. Level 10 removes everything including debuffs. Berserk, Loose Spirit, etc. are also fully removed, not just the downside.

Kunoichi's Shadow Sew works on every enemy, regardless of level. There is no such thing as Shadow Sew immunity. Shadow Sew is effective even against the final boss. The only limitations are its very high TP cost vs. Kunoichi's small TP pool, its very low success rate, and its 2 turn duration.
A spell's chant time gets shorter based on speed (AGI, speed, equipped weapon speed rank), not INT or RES.
There is no minimum chant time. At high enough speed a spell activates instantly just like a technique does. If you're not equipping a weapon, very fast spells like Heal become instant almost immediately, fast spells like level 5 Freeze become instant around the level 20s, and very slow spells like Witch's AoE elemental spells never become instant (I have not crowned so I don't know if the 50 AGI from a crown would be enough to make them instant). Side note, since speed affects chant time, this means Diva's March makes chants shorter, while Etoile's Mazurka doesn't.
Enchantress's Enchant Fire, Water, etc. skills work on all skills. A Frost Slash fired under the effect of Enchant Fire is a fire attribute skill.

If you aren't bothered by the lack of quality of life (level reset only to 1 really sucks) and the lower resolution assets, I would encourage playing the PSP version. It will be a significantly different experience from 2 and 2-2. The different magic chanting system means that classes that use magic are useful the entire game rather than fall off less than halfway through like in the other games. Truly every class is good (except Witch who sucks in every game).
Not him but damn, the classes are quite OP. With minimal effort, they can break the game. The inventory sounds painful to manage though. I've heard that theres no EXP multiplier accessory there so I don't think I'm playing this one, and I don't know much about To Heart 2 to be hooked on the game, even if its not required.
>thread limit reached
Damn, just finished my rounds todays too. Got 2 Awards too, making it at 47 Awards. I guess at the next thread, I had 100% DT2-2 as well.
Hopefully, I won't have another bug that won't let me have 50 awards at the end. I'm still salty about that in DT2.
eventually you get a bag upgrade to 30 but it's very late. To make up for it ypu don't have nearly as much vendor trash and consumables in this game, I didn't find the 20 limit as dramatic as it sounds. Still there is merit in taking someone with identify skill into the postgame to toss out poor items or sell them to Roku. In general the traveling merchant is a lot more valuable in 1.
Though I'm very curious about the XP accessory situation, so far this is the lnly game without DLC, maybe they'll add some for this release. Personally I have mixed feelings on the accessories since they're basically cheat codes, I get why crown grinders would want them though

How much storage do you have in base? With only 20 slots in your bag, I assume its 500 then? >Personally I have mixed feelings on the accessories since they're basically cheat codes, I get why crown grinders would want them though
If DT3 happens, I want a 3x EXP multiplier. It should be behind a super boss in post game though to avoid abuse just like the Alpha and Omaga in DT2-2 behing true form Tenerreza. At that point, Crowning is an extra option if you can deal with the super boss anyway, why not make it more easier to crown your whole team? DT2 took me 2 weeks to crown everyone, 2-2 took me a whole month and few days. That december last year was a strange month of nothing but grinding. I'm thankful for this thread for staving my boredom for doing it for a month.
>With minimal effort, they can break the game.
Not at all. I'd say the game is harder than 2 and 2-2 because not having the blacksmith means you can't reach absurd AGI and Speed levels, or 100 elemental resistance. You can't kill enemies before their turn like you can in 2 and 2-2, so you will be taking heavy damage and a tank or an Enchantress who can use Freeze to stop enemy skills become very important. Due to resists it's also impossible to gain immunity to status ailments without level reset bonuses (and even then you have to make some sacrifices by choosing worse gear for higher resists), with the only exception being an armor you get in ultra lategame that gives immunity to all status ailments, but you only get one in the entire game. The final boss is also way harder than anything in 2 and 2-2 in my opinion.
>The inventory sounds painful to manage though
It's really not that bad, even on PSP. As usual most item drops are useless so you can discard them unless you need them for a quest. I guess if you have a Treasure Hunter it's a lot more of a problem, unless you're also OK with discarding gear.
>I've heard that theres no EXP multiplier accessory
There isn't, and grinding EXP is a tremendous pain. In endgame you can repeatedly, consistently, and quickly kill a respawning boss for a lot of EXP, and it's very quick to get people to 60 or 70, but it probably still takes longer than crowning in 2.
That just reminded me of another PSP difference: if a party member is dead, their EXP is shared to the other party members rather than being lost. Minor thing, but on PSP Master Idol/Etoile could use Idol Soul/Primevil to kill herself when fighting that boss I mentioned before, and give more EXP to the low level party members you're carrying.
Either way, try out the game, it's my favorite of the three.
Oh I forgot theres no blacksmith in TH2DT, which means you're stuck with uniques or generics based on drops. I don't think grinding for good enchants in generics will be fun, but it seem this put emphasis on making with what you have. I doubt theres a Equipment Drop Rate Up there. >In endgame you can repeatedly, consistently, and quickly kill a respawning boss for a lot of EXP, and it's very quick to get people to 60 or 70, but it probably still takes longer than crowning in 2.
Oh boy, 2-2 is already months long so how long does this goes? Maybe 3 months at least? I don't think a similar strat like a Joker carry in Bogomil in DT2 is possible there. >Either way, try out the game, it's my favorite of the three.
I wish. I already felt the burnout after the grinding in 2-2 and it doesn't have an original cast so I'll pass for now. Its been like 7 month of nonstop Dungeon Crawling for me, I'd like something thats easy after 2-2.

Accessories and sealbooks share a slot.
Status ailments are effective against many bosses. You can Freeze or Silence a boss to disable some of their skills. Very early game you can disable ALL the skills of some bosses. 2-2's version of Hyakka Ryouran comes way too late, theres almost nothing at this point, but the added ATK is always welcome.
Seems that its gonna be another super boss round up farming after the post game dungeon one. Thankfully, theres no bullshit like Tenerezza in the four therian gods battle.
Psychogun if you can. There is only one of it in the game and your TH can actually deal better damage using Chain Spike with it.
Later on, your PA can use a Boreas Fan as a substitute if you need both PA and TH in your party.
Threads finally at bump limit? RIP
I kinda fizzled out in the Ice Cave in DT2's postgame. I just really don't like class doors or party restrictions. Especially when I'm trying to level 2 or 3 people at once but don't have some super strong PA to do it on their own. Disliked EO2 for that same kinda thing.
I did have everyone at 30. But I wanted everyone to be a unique class. So if a door requires a Witch and I'm trying to level my MP, PA, and DL that I just class swapped around to what I wanted after finally unlocking everyone, it made things a pain. I really don't get the whole, just use PA thing. A lvl 40 PA with a lvl 40 fan was doing about 3-400 damage with Rose Queen. No where close to one shotting anything. The MP wasn't much better either with Vanadis
>I really don't get the whole, just use PA thing. A lvl 40 PA with a lvl 40 fan was doing about 3-400 damage with Rose Queen.
Theres not a good fan until you get Hyakka Ryouran. Stick to a generic Longsword, enchanted with AGI Up and 3x Speed Up. As long as you update your Longsword with the highest possible
levels, it will deal good damage. >The MP wasn't much better either with Vanadis
As for your MP, they get stronger as you level up higher. Magical Change, Magical Slash, Magical Spark and Sword Mastery at max skill level is where they start wrecking stuff. Its no one shot use but they deal great damage. With 5x Speed Ups and AGI Ups, they can get their turn again and again, killing enemies fast.
just don't expect to one shot enemies within your level, thats for late post game, once you start getting unique equipments in Bogomil.
You'll almost never one shot current progression enemies (except maybe around lvl 30) until late post game and even then, you're likely dropping back to Skyfort for quick powerleveling or crowning.
>With minimal effort, they can break the game.

That's a good thing. Sometimes a little restraint and reductiveness is best. I'm doing a second playthrough of 2 and while Pap spam makes things fast, I miss actually having to go a turn or two into enemy action, having to target the most dangerous enemies first etc. maybe I'll do a self-imposed 2-2 challenge one day and only run with "weak" classes til endgame.
Magical Princess needs 5 Speed UP and as much AGI UP as possible, otherwise she's mediocre. Max out Magical Change and Magical Slash as first priority, then max Magical Spark.

That's what I think. The class balance in 1 is much better (Spieler is problematic in this aspect because PA is objectively the best AoE and JO is objectively the best single target, in 1 there's multiple options with pros and cons). Especially if you're playing the PSP version where magic classes are extremely useful throughout the entire game. No blacksmith is also great, they probably had the right intentions with it but didn't anticipate how it would make gear pointless or enable high AGI/Speed/resist strats to trivialize the game.
That said it's not universally better. There's this weird stretch between levels 70 to 99 where you're done with all the dungeons and all that's left are bosses above 90 so rather than smoothly progress through dungeons you're left with plain old EXP grinding. That's probably my main issue with the game. I would've also liked more superbosses, there's only 2, and one of them is a complete joke (the other is brutally difficult though, demanding everyone have the best gear, be at max level, and even then it can easily wipe the party).
How much storage do you have in base? With only 20 slots in your bag, I assume its 500 then? >Personally I have mixed feelings on the accessories since they're basically cheat codes, I get why crown grinders would want them though

999. I never ran out of space. >I don't think grinding for good enchants in generics will be fun
You don't have to. In endgame you can run Mandra Princess for a respawning chest at the end with a guaranteed high level generic gear piece. You can save and load in front of that chest for 3 minutes to get a piece with the enchant you want. >I don't think a similar strat like a Joker carry in Bogomil in DT2 is possible there.
There's this:
for marduk grind usually I would raise three people instead of just one, since the carry is always a black hole of XP
(at least the MI can self-terminate occasionally to give others her share of XP)
Yeah that was just an example. If you want to crown bring as many people as possible to minimize EXP loss. Personally I don't crown so whatever, only thing I leveled was a JK for endgame tanking.
Marduk getting hit with 2k damage each sounds unreal in DT2 and 2-2 where shes nothing but a wall there. I don't know whats the +2 stat level requirement when you level reset in TH2DT but it seems that you need to go three times before you can reset then do it for 20+ times.
Also, didn't know that you can trigger Guts when using Primevil. I'm missing out it seems.
Primevil is a meme, don't use it. It's only used here to give the Master Idol's share of EXP to the rest of the party. You get +2 from a 60 level difference and +3 from a 70 level difference. Typically people get to 71 by killing Marduk repeatedly like that then reset. Marduk is level 85.
If you want to speedrun the post game to Bogomil, it's best to tackle the doors with a dead weight and just 4 man the dungeons. "Leveling everyone" as you run through post game night have been design intent but it significantly prolongs your time spent in post game grinding, your choice. Any grind options you have pale in comparison to late game geared Papillon spam leveling.
Give your PA a longsword enhanced as much as possible. AGI UP Speed UP x3 is the standard but you can give it ATK UP too if you want. Easy way to get everyone to 30 is to go to Tver with PA and whoever you're leveling (wearing the 2x EXP accessory). You should be able to kill all the enemies with a single cast of Rose Queen. Repeat this with every dungeon where you can one or two shot everything with Rose Queen.
How powerful are those enchantments that improve the effect of dances in 2-2? Is it worth giving up an AGI + 3x Speed dagger for one handed weapon with that enchantment?
It seems that the MiniUPs are equivalent to one level of song/dance mastery, and the UPs are equivalent to two levels. And yes, they work even at 10 mastery. Whether that's worth using is up to you. Etoile usually has a lot of room for enchantments so it's probably worth.
I prefer having a high speed Etoile than having a potent debuffer since I can change debuffs and use maid skills faster especially during super boss battles. I'd prefer giving her an Interrupt Rate Mega Down on her instead but its only available on rings as a rare enchant.
I think its possible to have 3 Dance Skill Efficiency Up on an Etoile if you have a Professor's Flute (unique instrument), Snow Drop (unique armor) and a Fun Ring (generic ring with a Dance Skill Efficiency Up inside). I didn't try it though since I need to redo a few equipments enchants for that.
I just fought Crow Cruarch and it went reasonably well until the got below 1/3 HP and went into preparation mode. I tried to undo it with the leaf but failed and then she did a wombo combo and wiped out my whole team before they could move. Do you need insane defense for this boss or is failing to dispel preparation immediately just a death sentence or what?
Preparation cannot be dispelled.
If you're fighting her true form, you need to take advantage of the water zone, even if its dangerous for you. I did kill her easily by enchanting everyone with water enchant and going ham on her.
If just her weakened form, that means you need better equipments. Preparation just increase her speed so if you can't burst her down when you hit 40% of her HP then that means your team is still lacking better equipments.
Water resistance, Material Guard, and Waltz help a lot. Crom Cruach hits the least hard of the three so if you're already struggling it's truly joever.

Nipples don't work like that.
Yeah I hate it when they draw boobs that don't have nipples or imply the nipples are in a ridiculous place.
This is why I like the way Mamoru Oshi and Satoshi Kon draw their humans. Leagues more realistic than the gap-moe-desu-kawaii crap that passes for decent nowadays.

When it comes to anime breasts, a realistic shape and appearance absolutely is a good thing.
2D breasts > 3D breasts
Nah senpai, the plumpy teardrop shape that swishes back and forth with every turn is superior to fake cartoon balloons that defy every known law of physics.

They aren't. The best 2d breasts look much the same as 3d breasts, but you still can't touch them.
Setting aside her vanishing nipples, Irena's boobs look like implants.
You really need to check out more breasts shapes if you think that looks unnatural or similar to an implant
Look at Irena's more revealing outfits such as this
one. There's absolutely no way boobs that size wouldn't sag unsupported. Hers are either antigravity or artificial. With Lilian
they drew most of her breasts' volume gathering in their lower half, just like gravity does to medium or bigger natural breasts in real life.
She is a wizard
Magical push up bra is the first spell she learn after 25
Honestly what bugs me the most about this out fit is the ring closing the dress around her knees.
What bugs me is the torso
Explains why she has no AGI

does it workie on my deckie
Yeah its a 2D game
I hate grinding in dungeon crawlers. I feel like I'm cheating if I fight a boss with extra stats and rare drops I got from grinding. I'd rather spend twice as long remaking my team and attempting different strategies instead of winning that way.
Still haven't played 2-2 (I'll get a deck someday) but I loved DT2.
Do I need some quest reward to open the mage city wall to brawl her?
I can't access that sealed wall
A Key Item.
You need to go to Dreamscape Depth ?, and get the Key Item from a treasure chest.
>C: Doors that control fate (2), you can't pass through them without hiring the three Moirai sisters as mercenaries.
Holy fricking shit this game is obtuse
Thank god for the wiki
Also, I must have miseed something when I beat them
They aren't over the tabern
How am I supposed to hire those 3?
I had to fight for a while then return to base and see some event
Alright
Wait, I thought these games recently came out in english on PC?
yes, 2 and 2-2. torrents on nyaa or paid in johren
Is this supposed to be the best weapon for joker or anyone at all?
Nice job. It is unfortunately. Compared to Slaughtering Daeva of DT2, it looks middling in comparison.
From what I read on the jp wiki, it seems theres another one with 270+ ATK but it drops from a therian and I don't know where.
I didn't even see daggers had a second section over the wiki
>Speed A
>ATK+279
>DEX+33
>curly clit
>Drop: Hirometen Mary
As joker goes, might not even be worth it since you lose a lot of speed, and you get tons of atk from the armor, maybe
>curly clit
hello newfriend here what game is this where clitoris shape is a game mechanic??
please reply mister curly clit sama
I'll start DT2 today or tomorrow. Is there amything I need to know? Some uncesor patch to download peraphs?
Its all on nyaa, uncensor patch and DLCs, first 2 game got a couple "censored" CGS since its a fricking console game but dats about it, 2-2 have no censorship
Who's Best girl?

2-2 on the other hand has a BGM patch to unfrick the music
>Magical hag
MP is fine. She's not overpowered but she's still quite a decent all around damage dealer with some supporting capabilities. The nerfs are not even comparable to the Kunoichi massacre.
Yeah MP is still an above average class, just not the undisputed best in the game anymore.

Safe downloads?
As safe as you can get when the untouched files straight from the publisher in both English and Japanese trip like 40 different antivirus software, including Windows Defender.
But there is also a crack. Is the crack safe?
The crack just strips the DRM, which does make it trip fewer antivirus, but still a bunch of them.
Original DT2 executable:

WTF?! The official .exe has more false positives than the cracked one?
Yeah a common happening
So the download is completely safe?
I mean nothing can tell you for sure that either the official or the cracked versions are completely safe. I didn't see anything weird when I played through both games.
No, it will install dolphin porn on your computer
Play the Vita version
>So the download is completely safe?
I ran it in a sandbox for a while and it never did anything suspect in there. Lots of anons have played in these threads and I've never seen anyone say it caused them any problems.
Okay guys. I will download it and if something fishy... all of you will pay for this. I scanned and collected all your IPs.
have a nice day and never post here again moronic newbie

I'm late to the party. Wanted to start DT2, and can see now Windows Defender labels the unwrapper as a "game/hack", which is reassuring.
Any reports on dt22 unwrapped? It lights Virus Total like a fricking christmas tree. (arguably, the original exe is not better, I guess it's whitelisted by microsoft? windows defender doesn't flag it)

Cool, thanks.
Didn't really like Galleria. Combat was dull as frick, and the "plot" was boring (played maybe 15-20 hours, and didn't find any memorable characters or events).
I have high hopes for DT.
Help me out, what am I missing here?
Found one.
>As joker goes, might not even be worth it since you lose a lot of speed, and you get tons of atk from the armor, maybe
Thank you, anon
Holy shit there isn't really a quicksave feature? in my Japanese Visual novel adjacent game?
It's good that you can save at all in dungeons. That's very generous for the average dungeon crawler.

Deutschland Deutschland uber alles...
Is germany the only country that has issues with erotic games?
It has no issues. The problem is that "haha yeah I'm 18 don't worry about the details" isn't working here, and Steam has no actual age verification system. And if you aren't 18, you are not allowed to see those products in Germany.
Now don't ask me what weird loophole they went through so we can buy normal 18+ games. But at least as far as normal stores go, those can be displayed openly, just not sold to minors.
Also don't ask me how other stores can sell adult stuff to Germany. Small enough? Another funny loophole? Who knows.
By pretending they aren't porn games (See Kagura pushing out snuff porn because no one but some randos cares)
Do you need to play anything to heart related before this?
I don't know any of that characters
No but you wouldn't know the characters. Not a big deal since no one plays this for the characters. To Heart 2 is a very long visual novel and if you don't like that kind of romance slice of life style it's not worth reading it just for this.
I spent 450 hours just to finish both games, might as well do this as it is intended

Strange. I downloaded ToHeart2 both EN patched and unpatched, and the subtitle only shows on the title screen in the unpatched.
By the way, in case anyone else wants to play unpatched and is having an issue with animations being 5x speed, this was fixed in the version 1.02 exe available on Leaf's support website: https://leaf.aquaplus.jp/support/sup_old.html
is the game involved in anyway; or it purely just reading text/fapping?
Purely reading text/fapping
There's some dialogue choices that affect a scene in particular
The biggest example is chapter 9 after beating the boss before returning to the library, you get to pick with which girl you spend your last night with
Nothing too lewd, the MC is always aloof/dumb and only a couple of girls are actually assertive
He's talking about To Heart 2
I started with DT and I was fine. Though it's certainly more fun when you also play the main game, I did so during my DT playthrough, TH2 is a long burn anyway
>Doesn't even show nipples but it's still getting classified as a porn game
That's moronic but whatever
Because the other two weren't classified as porn games and got banned. They wanted to be careful with this one.
We won.
We did it bros!
How would these be for someone that is all gameplay and doesn't really care about the breasts?
Better than most crawlers without breasts
homosexual
Exceedingly good
>How would these be for someone that is all gameplay and doesn't really care about the breasts?
Dungeon Travelers is about gameplay first and anime breasts second. The combat is mostly standard turn based JRPG combat, a bit better than average and more challenging than usual but nothing too exciting. The dungeon designs are exceptionally good, if you like figuring out how to get through complex mazes full of puzzles, give it a shot.
I heard DT1 was harder than DT2. How does DT2-2 compare, difficulty-wise?
It's definitely harder, if only because you can't unga bunga Magical Slash Rose Queen spam and kill everything before it can hurt you, but you can still get through most of the game easily if you know what you're doing.
I'd say DT1 > DT2-2 > DT2 in terms of difficulty, but they're all fairly close.
I thought 1 was actually the more forgiving game of the three.
That is, until the dark cathedral. Starting with the dark cathedral it's
2-2 feels more gentle compared to 2 which itself was barely hard enough. I'm doing resets just to lower my levels in 2-2.
Disagree. DT2 has MP which makes the entire game a joke. And DT2-2 gave every enemy Avenger, Mind's Eye, dispel on counter, etc.
What's the op thing over the to heart one?
Is it the same game with different characters?
More or less, yeah. To Heart 2: Dungeon Travelers is the first (kinda) game in the series.
>Third Eye Wide [Unique] Lv Crown TP Cost 0
>Lv Crown
Unique skills made stronger when you crown a character?
Yeah. One of the new features of DT2-2. I imagine Melvy will get alot of juice of whatever weapon she uses.
I shall be a Crown Master here too.
>I shall be a Crown Master here too.
And in the upcoming game
As much as I'd like one, I won't get my hopes up.
No double EXP accessory in that one
man she's overshadowed hard by the 4 gods and A.M., but I like her design and battle theme
I-IS THAT-
So I reached postgame, of course my Papillon carries me through mobs, but I was wondering how to increase her damage output even further.
Anything for 2-2?
Even with the 3xx dmg gun my lvl 99 papillons cratches the mobs at this point
And the MP is more a support than anything by now*
There's a fan that's slightly better than the gun but it's not going to make that big a difference. If you're expecting to oneshot mobs, that's not really possible, you should be aiming for two shot.
Triple VL
Double PA
Is it true that the translation of 2-2 is much worse than 2, since Shiravune handled it themselves? I know they've got a pretty bad reputation.
It is very sloppy with a lot of spelling mistakes, but the translator is clearly very knowledgeable about Aquaplus games since they correctly translate many of the references, including fixing some that were missed in the translation of DT2.
I'm annoyed that they changed Gina to Siena for no reason. It's extremely noticeable in a fully voiced game.
about that...
It's not even the translators' mistake? Weird.
They pronounce it starting with a G sound in game though.
If it were Gina it's be Gigdrad instead of Siegdrad which is dumb
are these games actually lewd or just have nice character designs?
Not porn
What the frick were they thinking?
normally I look down on save scumming, but here it is the smart thing to do.
The middle section of the tower was iffy in general, but the first and last third was great
That doesn't work if you're like me and get autistic about filling the entire map
There's no award for crowning all characters in 2-2.
There isn't but I'm still doing it. I did the same in DT2 so I want to do it the same way here. For the Award, you just need to Crown 1 character.
I like the combat in Dungeon Travelers
fast paced, encounters appear instantly
very steady difficulty curve in encounters
the magic chanting mechanics make mage-heavy parties very distinct from physical parties
status effects are mighty but aren't cheesy I win buttons
Especially the first game, where status ailments truly are powerful (Freeze arguably trivializes nearly the entire game), a lot more classes are viable, and gear actually matters because you can't just enchant random gear to have all the effects you want.
>encounters appear instantly
that doesn't get talked about much but this is one of DT's best features and makes the game way better than it otherwise would be
But I don't like fruit...
Playing DT2, when's the point in postgame where you start farming uniques, rings and crowning?
Bogomil. Once you got enough firepower in your party, you can try wreaking enemies you want to drop stuff, fight the superboss for their drops if you can and grind for crowning.
Fortune Sword then Filsword for MP, and Hyakka Ryouran for your PA is where you can start getting stuffs you missed and grind for crown.
interesting that you crowned your characters but didn't bother upgrading your armor
Does any sub-event unlock anything nice besides Therian Seal?
Best armor for Fighters from events for materializing the four heavenly kings with Conette in your party.
No h-scenes but very suggestive. I think it's better than Etrian Odyssey.
Needs a free slot in your inventory as you'll get a key item after the event.
>never once used Lize, Mefmera, Fiora or Tsurara
t-thanks...
Not a problem once you hit post game. You'll just need to take one of them in your party and equip them with a Double EXP Ring. Get used on operating a four person party as your fifth one will be used for opening class doors.
What is this, Etrian Odyssey with h-scenes? How does it compare?
I've already played DT2 and DT2-2 and enjoyed them more than EO3. Maybe the other games are better.
Both games have more combat depth than the average JRPG but are ultimately shallow.
>still no ps vita eng patch of 2-2
>still no switch port
Frick
Just stream the PC version to your hacked Vita or hacked Switch using Moonlight.
Your Vita and Switch are hacked, aren't they?
I started on DT2 but the quest to defeat the Temple of Wrappl boss isn't coming up, is there something you need to do first or did I frick up by getting to the door without having the quest even though I haven't fought her yet?
You shouldn't need to have a quest assigned to do anything. What happens when you move to the boss's square?
I can fight the boss but I want to complete the quest.
Take recommended quests as soon as they appear. Some of them disappear after a certain point.
>did I frick up by getting to the door without having the quest even though I haven't fought her yet?
Seems to be this. According to the jp wiki, the quest disappears if you step to the front door.
At which points do you guys usually switch from Papillon to Magical Princess?
I got tired of grinding endgame equipment so I installed cheat engine.
Can you cheat engine the Awards section? I'm still pissed that I missed Award 19 for some strange reason.
Tried DT 2, put in a few hours and was going to drop it because of how grindy it is, but I can't stop thinking about Lilian...
Do it for her then. She carried me very well till the very end.
I think the grind is not necessary but being a collector of stuff, it eventually comes that I've grinded.
It's not grindy at all though. The only thing you ever grind for is rare gear in endgame only, and as
will let you know, that's not even needed.
I sticked with it for Lilian and once she reached level 30 and I made her a Papillon the game became very enjoyable
Her sub-events are so good too
A fellow Lilianchad. You are a man of taste.
The game gets better as you unlock newer classes with more complete ability sets. If you use a good party build and keep your items up to date you shouldn't need to grind much at all.
I'm not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing? Would this raise say, Monica's chance to interrupt enemies or would it increase Melvy's chance to be interrupted when chanting?
>increase Melvy's chance to be interrupted when chanting?
This one. The red arrows are generally bad for you, unless its Enmity UP for your tanks.
I actually ended up just going with Proton through Steam so nevermind.
>Japanese locale
>English version
Huh?
Yeah idk either. If I tried using only Wine without the locale flag it wouldn't even get as far as displaying the error window before closing.
Requires a Grand Seal Book.
Did you go to Dreamscape Depth ? and fought the boss there?
I believe all of the paths were blocked by gates that said I need the power to control fate. I've heard I need to recruit the moirai sisters but I have not seen them either.
The Moirai sisters are in the Therian Village. There should be an event in the Quest Desk that ask you to come to the village and talk to Airavata.
If you don't find it then you need to kill a boss in Plains of Light but you've already reach map 10 so I doubt that.
Thank you, anon
Theres also a bug when Lilian uses her unique skill that can crash the game. It rarely happens though.
>Theres also a bug when Lilian uses her unique skill that can crash the game
Explain further
Basically, theres an error window that will pop up when Lilian uses her Third Eye Wide skill on an enemy. I think its only if the enemy moves first then her unique activates and hits.
I'll try to get a screenshot next time. I'll likely get another one as shes my carry on my crowning.
If it requires third eye wide to hit then it must show up about once every 10,000 hours.
>mfw Danger Shoot has 0 hit when used consecutive times.
Welp, it happened. Its usually an enemy getting stunned with Third Eye Wide. Clicking OK will terminate the game. Save frequently when using Lilian.
Very interesting. Did it happen as described in
, with the enemy acting first at the start of battle?
I save obsessively so I doubt this rare crash would pose much of an inconvenience for me, but I did use Lilian for almost the entirety of DT2 as my designated papillon, so I should probably give some of the other spielers a chance.
>Did it happen as described in
I'll try to get a screenshot next time. I'll likely get another one as shes my carry on my crowning., with the enemy acting first at the start of battle?
Thats actually me and yes, its on an enemy ambush. Its most likely to happen when the enemy got stunned and Lilian still doesn't get her first turn yet, based on what I've observed.
>I did use Lilian for almost the entirety of DT2 as my designated papillon, so I should probably give some of the other spielers a chance.
Most likely its gonna be Lize as shes your first Spieler in 2-2 and her unique is the most practical out of the 3.
>Most likely its gonna be Lize as shes your first Spieler in 2-2 and her unique is the most practical out of the 3.
Counterpoint: Lilian is vastly cuter and sexier
Can't argue on that. Her Papillon costume is hot.
Yes, especially in DT2-2 where some of the units Unique skill got changed or improved. Lize can pretty great for enemies that summon dolls since she can take 1 out everytime her turn comes up, or Melvy if you want to get more bonus stats from her equipments.
Some are still odd to use like Siena's Arcane Shield or Souffle's Overstock Clearance.
>unique
People actually care about this?
Some of them are good enough to care about, but none of the spieler uniques are.
>series
which of these games can I play on psp?
TH2DT and DT2 are on psp, Japanese only.
Who is this girl and what's she like personality-wise? I always find myself staring at this OP pic
A hag
hagwife
Horny postgame still at it
can I jump right into DT2 or do I need to play To Heart first?
DT2 has nothing to do with To Heart so you can play that first
Irena's Magical Princess outfit is irresistible
Why aren't there more games like this? Dungeon Crawlers are boring. Replacing all the imps and goblins with cute girls at least keeps things mildly interesting. Adding in complex customization options through equipment, classes, and abilities let's the player personalize their experience.
This vs Grimrock? This every time.
> Replacing all the imps and goblins with cute girls

> Replacing all the girls with cute imps and goblins

When will they ever learn ?
That's hideous
A fully enhanced weapon should be be better than most uniques. Especially if you put ATK UP on it.
True
Though I'd rather speed and agi up than attack
Hag sex
Equipment that comes with a name +something can only be enchanted 4 times, right?
5 times
Hmmm so they're better than normal drops? They tend to have higher level/atk/def than vanilla equipment
Yes generic gear is generally better than most uniques until endgame.
How does the DLC exp accessory work? Does it grant extra exp to the entire party or just the person with it equipped?
Just the person with it equipped
Oh, fantastic. I benched Lillian as soon as Grishna was available. Now that (most) of my party is 30 now I wouldn't mind leveling Lillian or Lizette up to see just how good Pappillion is. Also wouldn't mind having Fiora primed to go into MP too.
>I benched Lillian as soon as Grishna was available
Good taste
>I benched Lillian as soon as Grishna was available.
Congratulations, you fell for it.
>Also wouldn't mind having Fiora primed to go into MP too.
MP at 30 is unusable.
>there are people ITT who don't play a 5 girl team from a different class tree each
3 VL
1 TH
1 ET
Final destination
>No ways to Dispel buffs
I don't think I can use a full Daedalus team like that. I'm worried I'll get nuked to dust when a superboss used a Loose Spirit or in Ecstasy, especially in 2-2 where the Leaf item is not as effective as before due to bosses getting crazy RES stat to lower its success rate. I'd stick to the usual DL,VL,JO,TH,ET boss killer team.
I killed all the postgame bosses with that comp
Bruteforce
Just werks
What makes the Etoile good? I've been using a diva but she just cooks every turn
Mazurka
I use Conette despite being the worst maid because she raises Grishna and Souffle's agi (along herself) quite a bit
Conette probably is the most charismatic character in the game
I use the biggest breasts maid
That is the one over the left on your pic
Yuni is just a bawd. Conette's bigger
Yuni is not a bawd, she's faithful to her girlfriend Mefmera
I use Conette because she's the best maid
same, though that bonus isn't that meaningful anymore since the introduction of smithing
made for bugs
surprised this is the only comment mentioning it tbqh
I've only read the doujins, how much of this is in the actual games?
bump
Context?
There are a lot of doujins (mostly from one artist) about some DT girls getting addicted to fricking low level bug monsters.
Panda link?
Asking for a friend
It's a charage, you're supposed to use the characters you like
Conette is the best maid, no, best character by a mile. I'd use 5 Conettes if it was possible.
I completely changed my team at 30 and 50 because I wanted to use all the cute girls for a while
So how do the rest of you go about leveling freshly joined party members when they're potentially 5+ levels under your current party and also below 30 for their advance jobs?
You give them the 2x experience ring and bring them with Papillon and no one else to the highest level place where you can quickly kill enemies with Rose Queen.
just bring them along when exploringnew floors, soon enough they'll catch up. High levels are a crutch, you can do wonders just with a solid battle plan.
>not 100% seal rate
>he didn't get the good ending
OH NO NO NO
that's just one of my older caps, I've got all seals halfway into my total playthrough - it's funny, you'd think that "sealing all monsters" is some epic task but it's actually the least of your worries
I hate that they made spieler the best class but made all of the characters for it dumb dorks
looks good to me
perky teenage breasts > saggy crackprostitutes
Where do Sage or Bishop wanna stand? They're casters, but they've also got melee skills?
If you're using their melee skills then in front. They don't do much damage anyways. In 2-2 Sage can use Prism Dawn since it scales with RES and then she goes in the back.
Bishop has a defense down skill I guess?
Bishop can go offensive with Shine Curse assuming you are equipped with a staff. Even with the horrible cast time, its good for cleaning up enemies. Maces aren't exactly good until post game anyway.
Sage should go for a book, they need all the RES they can get. Bible Thump is pretty good for dealing both silence and freeze in one skill. Prism Dawn is bad unless its on 2-2, it got improved from what I remembered.
Basically, both can smack stuff if needed.
They're back row classes. The back row penalty is irrelevant in 2 and manageable in 2-2.
Never forget about them, they're essential.
>dancing against mobs
>especially Mazurka against mobs
Literally why?
The rest of the turns are spent cooking.
random fights: waltz -> cook
most boss fights and strong enemies: waltz -> marzuka
bosses that your team can barely damage: waltz -> salsa
one point in everything, more in maid mastery, dance mastery, and waltz. and the end-of-battle healing skill. Then comes marzuka, salsa, and the skill that eats enemy turns.
or you can use the def decreasing dance in random fights if you're confident in your defenses
Max Mazurka before Waltz, it's much more valuable
Waltz, samba, and mazurka are the most useful dances in general. Clean is great for battles that will last more than one or two rounds and cook is great in general. Generous heart is the overall most useful TP recovery skill. Run away from one or two fights and you're back in business.
Mazurka is almost a total waste against mobs. They should generally be on the ropes by their second turn even without mazurka. Waltz or samba are good options in most random encounters.
They're both important and it makes way more sense to have two dances at level 6 than one at level 8.
Disagree, it's a better use of your SP to max Mazurka and Dance Mastery and then focus on Waltz.
Maybe if you're using a team with poor damage but that doesn't sound fun. Bring a papillon, give her a psychogun, and say goodbye to long trash fights. Mazurka has no effect until the enemy's next turn so in random battles it often achieves literally nothing.
Mazurka doesn't really do anything when the enemy takes 1 or 2 turns
Is there an item in Dungeon Travelers 2 that can dispel enemy buffs?
The first ones you can get are from Gear Castle which is the second to last postgame dungeon. You can kill Seiryu from Dragon Sphere, or materialize Crimson Slapyon for Bavarian Cream. The most obvious one is Leaf, which has infinite uses, but drops from a superboss.
Just bring a Berserker or Sage.
How does DT pan against Labyrinth of Galleria?
Much better and not even close. The dungeons are more interesting and there's more to combat than auto attacks. That said, if what you liked about Galleria was the story then you're not going to like Dungeon Travelers since it's an excuse plot that's only there to have something rather than nothing at all. The characters are great though.
I haven't played Galleria but DT's gameplay is leaps and bounds better than Labyrinth of Refrain's in pretty much every way.
Pretty sure they said awhile ago that 2-2 got banned. It's nice they got 1 on there at least
Oh I missed him saying other storefronts, ignore me
It's pretty weird because DT1's nudity is more explicit, it shows you a bunch of nipples whereas DT2 just has the one sneaky one on the mermaid.
>DT1's nudity is more explicit, it shows you a bunch of nipples
You're mixing it up with Final Dragon Chronicle. DT1 doesn't show any nipples.
I'm starting to despise this game having a forced grind
you talking about dt1 or 2-2? I liked how dt2 was grind free
Tf you talking about? DT2-2 has the least grind of the three, and DT2 is not grind free, though you can take everyone to 30 which doesn't take long at all and use them like that.
DT2 would be basically grind free if not for the class doors int he postgame.
Anon leveling someone to 30 takes like 5 minutes tops
I meant to 50
Fastest I can do is Lilian papillon carry
I'm playing Vita
Yah, postgame you are grinding, no getting around that. So hopefully you have the good grind setups by then to make it quick and easy.
https://files.catbox.moe/o2s1kj.ct
Thank me later.
>finally finish DT2 postgame
>still missing 67 sub-events
Shieeeeeeet. By the way what's the easiest or fastest way to bottom out motivation? A few events require it.
>By the way what's the easiest or fastest way to bottom out motivation?
Repeatedly dying and resurrecting them. DT2-2 solves this problem by introducing pep reducing items.
Now pep maxing items becomes rarer there.
There's an events with Souffle with Yae eating a materialized beard. Used it in abyssal darkness to get the third item required for the therian seal
>Crowned almost half of them
This sure takes alot more longer than in DT2. Getting wrecked in Plains of Light Map 8 just makes things longer I guess.
Yes
The annoying part is the one way doors you'll found when you reach the deeper areas after the TH class doors, making you go back all over the class door again. Man, filling them all up was an annoying experience.
Unfortunately, Samara is not the only dungeon with that kind of one way door/wall traps.
Samara was fun though
I'm not saying it's not fun. But it's a bit draining when you spend an entire day in the same dungeon and are left feeling like you've made no progress.
I can't help but feel the game hits a wall in postgame with the forced grind, forced team members, draining dungeons
Unironically filtered
How do I trigger event 183 to make the four kings appear in 2-2? Souffle is over level 75 and I tried fighting some therians and nothings happening.
Just gotta do a looooooooot of walking. I did it in the casino basement area. The number of steps is way higher than what the wiki says.
2-2's post-endgame seems really tough. Even the 8 otherworld gods were generally not too bad in 2, but here I'm getting messed up all the time by even Therian midbosses. Are we expected to crown or farm rare drops to get by?
Huh. Thanks.
DT2 and 2-2 crashes on me when I alt tab on other window when its loading. The game is fine as long as it you don't change window when its loading.
If DT3 is made they need to remove the blacksmith
They need to at least let you pick which enchantments to transfer onto the item.
That's better than what we currently have, because rerolling enchants is annoying, but it needs to be removed altogether.
A revamp would be nice. Once you understand his shop it's fine, but it's really clunky for new players.
If you're going to keep it then yes, revamp it so the player can choose the enchantments rather than it being random, but in an ideal world it's completely removed since it's arguably the worst thing to happen to the series.
What they need to do is stop having 95% of the consumables/boss loot in the game to be randomly named shit without effect description
You fell short with 95%
I'd settle for just not having him be a random encounter. I can never find him when I need him and he shows up all the time when I don't have a book with AGI up for the next upgrade.
wandering shops in general would kinda need an overhaul. wandering food stalls feel really superfluous unless you are doing a no maid walkthrough
Have a Treasure Hunter an ability to call a random shop once on every floor.
The Pineapple Salad item in 2-2 gets me once. Gives you a nice TP recovery then instakills you. I thought its just a funny anime reference.
disgusting coomerslop
I rotated my fighters once Grishna and Alisa hit 50 since I got Yae awhile ago and wanted to class change them. (Alisa went Valk>Sam, Grishna DL>Valk, and Yae Sam>DL)
Is yae's activation on her passive just lower than Grishna and Alisa's? I've been using her all day now and only had it proc once. I know she's 15-ish levels behind atm, but it shouldn't make *that* much of a difference, right?
Different character abilities have different trigger percentile
As Yae's is a double turn it makes sense it's more uncommon
That unique skill looks terrible
Otsukaresamadeshita anon-sama, I could never put myself through this.
can't spell Dungeon Travelers without dung
I think the distraction skill stacks.
lvl50: ET, MP, DL, PA, [BS/TH]
lvl90: ET, MP, VL, PA, SG
(assuming you get the therian seal)
Might be better to use a second MP instead of PA but this way you train more classes and can reclass to JO when you get an endgame weapon. Sometimes you'll have to drop a unit for a door key. Also I recommend swapping between two maids so you can have MI+ET for endgame.
What's good about mistress?
I've been thinking about two etoiles for casting the four dances and omega cooking
And the distraction skill forgot its name (does it even stack?)
Yeah, like I said in
I swapped around my fighters.
Three dungeons left to complete main story
They're basically the exact same game.
but in 2-2 I can get my favorite girl sooner and make everyone wear swimsuits
>I guess I should expect to see gimmick doors more often?
Multiple of them every dungeon.
The next good place after Tver is ice cave 3F, a lot of mandragoras spawn there
I grinded a few other girls to 50 in Ice Cave first floor, Papillon one-hits everything first floor and you can exit-reenter to refill TP
Has anyone reported the BGM issues in 2-2 to Shiravune? Or is this an Aquaplus thing and they simply do not give a shit?
I stopped after beating the main story and all of this grinding autism has piqued my interest for a second playthrough and doing the post game. How much of the ridiculous level resetting and grinding is actually required for the post game and how much is just people maxing out stats due to completionism?
>level resetting
Zero.
>grinding
Every class needs to be at a minimum of level 30.
That doesn't seem bad at all. So they really are just a continuation of the game with no story elements and are not just grindfests for weird people? I should have played it the first time around but the lack of cute dialogue turned me away.
And a way to lower the difficulty for people who are willing to put up with the brainless grind.
Hunting for sub events is an option. There are still short dialogues during post game and the last dungeon is basically going for the final boss's home area and smacking her one more time. Its a 30 floor tower though so it really takes time.
The postgame in 2-2 still has a fair amount of story to it
Why even call it a postgame at that point?
Because is some alt story
The postgame is pretty much just the part of the game after the first ending. Though the bosses at the end of the postgame do feel much more like postgame than endgame material. DT2's superbosses were somewhere in between.
Yes the postgame of DT2 is literally just more of the same dungeon + combat gameplay with less story. There's a bit of a difficulty bump at the end when you fight the 8 gods of the otherworld but they still don't require specific team setups or level resetting or farming for rare drops. 2-2's superbosses are a lot meaner but even they don't require any resetting.
I wish I would die between Irena's bust
Just started this game a few days ago because I liked TH2, pretty fun so far, the girls are cute but I feel a little guilty over using some of the TH2 girls like Mary.
Any good unique skill among the TH2 girls?
I like Sasara's skill since I'm using her as a Tank, she gets a bonus with shields.
Neat, I should play the PSP version too.
I read we're getting the first game on pc soon.
About a month from now
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1901620/Dungeon_Travelers_To_Heart_2_in_Another_World/
I was about to drop the game because it was kind of slow and basic but once you reach level 30 it really gets going
Why do the exe files trigger virustotal this hard?
Because I filled the .exe with bitcoin miners and loads of other malware for the lulz
The DRM is made by DMM/Johren and they haven't bothered to pay Microsoft and Kaspersky to whitelist it.
VIP area is complete cancer, they made the fights there actually hard, and there's more of them, so grinding Mandra Princess books is way slower.
This chuddy cameltoe OP is older than my grandmother at this point. Hit the bump limit already, gays. I don't want to keep looking at it.
Why not hide the thread instead of bothering us with your unrestrained homosexualry?
>please leave me and my buddy's private messaging thread alone
Does this game have actual nudity and h-scenes or is it all convenient censorship and implied/suggestive scenes? Exactly how h is this game?
I typically like dungeon crawlers and have been looking for a new-to-me erogame, but censored nudity is a huge turn off to me.
The three Dungeon Travelers games are all convenient censorship and implied, (very) suggestive scenes. The grandfather of the series, Final Dragon Chronicle: Guilty Requiem, has nudity but no sex (there's a very spicy tentacle scene though), but that game is nowhere near as good as the others.
The actual VN that spawned this series has H-scenes though
Not originally, but yes. But that's a different game anyways, not a dungeon crawler.
Once you got unique weapons, you can stop making enchanted weapons due to the difference in stats.
...so do you need to play the visual novels first before the dungeon ones?
Just, where do I start with this series?
Either 1 or 2, you don't need to play anything first. 2 is the safer bet because it has an original cast.
Dungeon Travelers 1 is a sequel to ToHeart 2.
Dungeon Travelers 2-2 is a sequel to Dungeon Travelers 2.
Start with Dungeon Travelers 2
>Dungeon Travelers 1 is a sequel to ToHeart 2
It's a spinoff. It's not a sequel.
They gave them a lot more drops too rather than just one or two so you have to kill them multiple times to get everything.
Your bag only holds 20 items.
There's probably more that I'm forgetting.
Thanks for the wealth of info. I'll be trying the Shiravune release in a couple weeks. Some of that stuff sounds painful, but oddly enough it sounds like they also got some things "right" and then tinkered with them and made them bad them in 2/2-2. I'll give it a try.
The following only applies to the PSP version of the game:
You can only level reset to level 1.
You cannot open the bigger map to see the entire floor or see the map of other floors, you can only see the minimap, which you also cannot enlargen, it only shows the area around your current position.
Enemy item drops do not stack in your bag.
And other changes I might have missed.
Psychogun or tartarus edge on my TH? Seems like the gun is better for a damage dealer and a dagger is better for an item user.
Just get everyone to 30 and leave them there
I did have everyone at 30.
>You can't kill enemies before they take their turn like in 2 and 2-2
That's a good thing.
Max out Magical Change and Magical Slash as first priority, then max Magical Spark.
>oddly enough it sounds like they also got some things "right" and then tinkered with them and made them bad them in 2/2-2
That's what I think.
>There's this:
That is helpful, thank you.
