Kek this. I'm the only one who actually loved it since day 0, now everyone pretending it's their heckin' yummy bromon.
Are people seriously doing this I don't browse /vp/ much anymore. I cannot imagine a world in which Archaludon of all things would change my mind about Duraludon. I cannot imagine how a person who already dislikes Duraludon would somehow like Archaludon.

This whole thread is people shitting on it or Duraldon. And rightfully so, they're both fricking awful.
Seems like you weren't here when Archaludon was first revealed, shit was pathetic. These homosexuals have no shame. It was Dracovish and Gholdengo all over again. I'm hoping it's not good competitively just to see these bandwagon homosexuals to go back to disliking it, pretending they never pretended to like it when its evo was revealed and it goes back to be a forgotten Pokemon again.
I checked the archive to see people's reaction to Duraludon and all I saw was "lol its a fricking bridge are you kidding me" the reaction threads were pretty bare actually this board seems kinda dead these days
>I'm hoping it's not good competitively
Hard to imagine. With Electro Shot and Stamina on top of potentially more bulk combined with such a great typing, it will have a place in OU no matter what.
Duraludon is just a mess of jagged shapes while Arch looks like some sort of robo kaiju. Arch does not change my opinion on Dura, it's still one of the worst designs in the series along with mega Sharpedo and gigantimax Copperajah, but Arch is pretty cool to me.
you know, they've already made a line based on this thing, volcarona and larvesta, but i feel duraludon might take some cues, look at the zigzag pattern on it, and then look at the one on the tower, and the shape of duraludon's torso mgiht be informed by it too. and they both end with an "antenna" at the tip, just with different shapes.
>Eviolite Duraludon >Physical Duraludon is better now >SolarBeam/Meteor Beam mix under rain Archaludon >Archaludon's BST could be boosted to 600 to finally make it a real Tyranitar rival
I'm extremely hyped to see how my 1-2% bro work with all the new toys he received.
252+ Atk Sneasler Close Combat vs. +1 252 HP / 252 Def Duraludon: 206-246 (59.8 - 71.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Sneasler Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Eviolite Type: Null: 236-278 (59.8 - 70.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Roughly on par with each other, but no recovery sucks for both.
I'm not well-versed in the current meta, what are some relevant special threats?

Gholendo

Iron Valiant sometimes.
Most of which aren't hitting it for super effective damage, but they're hitting it hard regardless.
Despite what people are pushing, I really don't think Archaludon getting a notable BST bump is that unlikely.
I could definitely see 580 or something ending up the case, or the obvious "pseudo to match ttar" thing.
We literally just had multiple mons get huge boosts to already sizable BST.
That best be a frickup on the writing end and not the reading part there.
This. There's no way a normal Pokemon's evolution will surpass a pseudo's BST.

Frick you. It will get the Slaking treatment and go for 670.
this just proves that the entire problem with duralodon was its legs. Now that they've made a version of it that looks like it can actually move the design is kino and the line is saved, bravo masuda, yet another flawless victory.
I doubt they'll divert Archaludon from a successful niche. There is a decent few mons that do switch HA but i can't recall them off the top of my head, generally that relates to "useless" abilities though.
Stalwart is very good for doubles, and SV certainly didn't try to hurt redirection.
Its non-hiddens are already pretty well rounded too. They had more reason to remove defiant from Kingambit and they didn't do it there either.
Logically the only reason is to not completely nuke the base form, which considering Duraludon has proven itself a failure even with incredibly good backing; I don't think GF would particularly care.
Hate Duradulon, love Archadulon, I dont know how they did it but they actually convinced me to use a mon that I formerly hated, most of the Galardex should get this treatment there are some big stinkers on that pile of garbage
My prediction for Archaludon's stats assuming the BST DOESN'T increase (like Scyther's evolutions) >90/65/125/130/70/55 (535)
My prediction for Archaludon's stats assuming the BST DOES increase >100/65/125/130/75/55 (550)
Ursaluna and Kingambit also have a BST of 550, so that's where I draw the line, too.
I don't understand what the regular non-dynamax Duraludon is supposed to be... wtf
inhaler
Literally just a dragon made of steel stop being autistic
If it was that then it would look cool

Gigantamax*, not Gigantimax.
I always forget how it's spelled because I never bother with those forms.
It turns into a bridge, dude.
>If it was that then it would look cool

Pokémon are not drawn that way dumbass
Frick you
half lightrr half toilet
This, but his head is modeled after a lighter (red is the button that lits the fire)

Glad I'm not the only one who sees the resemblances
So you don’t think this is a modern recreation of Omega from Gen 1 beta?
Probably be a Porygon Z situation with some stat rebalancing and a 550BST

Duraludon
Would it be better than Type: Null?
252+ Atk Sneasler Close Combat vs. +1 252 HP / 252 Def Duraludon: 206-246 (59.8 - 71.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Sneasler Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Eviolite Type: Null: 236-278 (59.8 - 70.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Roughly on par with each other, but no recovery sucks for both.
If I'm gonna use Eviolite Duraludon, I'd rather go for full SpD to patch it up.
Base 50 special defense is going to be hard to patch up no matter what you do.

Nothing a Light Screen can't fix
Sweet. I'm gonna use it with ID, ResTalk, BPress.
's BST could be boosted to 600 to finally make it a real Tyranitar rival
Yeah, ain't happening. It will just get slower to boost its other stats.
This. There's no way a normal Pokemon's evolution will surpass a pseudo's BST.

What the frick, this is an evolution?? I thought it was a paradoxmon
we'll cross that bridge when we come to it
I WAS ALWAYS A FAN!!!

It happens all the time. Fricking drones.

Utter garbage
But enough about you.
moron
Nah you are
>am structural engineer
>building design principles are the complete opposite to bridge design principles
It irks me a little but whatever
Isn't it a clipper?
It's a staple remover.

it's based and even better in sprite form. bringing back the gen5-era sugimori kino
Anyone else thinks it will keep its HA? HAs never change after evolving usually.
I doubt they'll divert Archaludon from a successful niche. There is a decent few mons that do switch HA but i can't recall them off the top of my head, generally that relates to "useless" abilities though.

Stalwart is Duraludon unique ability, it's not going anywhere
left: shit
right: acceptable
What will it even gain from evo, like +100 stats and lose -35 speed? If it lost attack and gained spD or health it would automatically be better
It's gonna be what they did to scizor again
Hate Duradulon, love Archadulon, I dont know how they did it but they actually convinced me to use a mon that I formerly hated, most of the Galardex should get this treatment there are some big stinkers on that pile of garbage
Ugly and Uglier
A gen 3 thread died for this
What's there to discuss? They're both ugly as frick.
I'm sure it will become your BBF (Best Bromon Forever) once Smogon and the VGC scene tell you it's good competitively.
>haven't bought/played a main series game in almost a decade
Nice try.
What does that have to do with anything? The majority of gays here play Showdown like you.
Duraludon's stats:
>70/95/115/120/50/85 (535)
My prediction for Archaludon's stats assuming the BST DOESN'T increase (like Scyther's evolutions)
>90/65/125/130/70/55 (535)
My prediction for Archaludon's stats assuming the BST DOES increase
>100/65/125/130/75/55 (550)
Ursaluna and Kingambit also have a BST of 550, so that's where I draw the line, too.
not even his dad likes him, stop being so mean 🙁

I'd rather not
Mousetrap Pokemon
They should've made the name Archuladon
