An audience who asks to be told a story isn't being lied to by having that story be told, even if the story isn't real. Emotions aren't fictional even if they're caused by fiction, and people have told stories to each other for as long as they've had words. It's not some underhanded trick to be able to evoke feelings. Suddenly during the route both Zagreus and Dusa stop doing what they were obviously doing to look at the camera and lecture the player about power dynamics or some other shit and how it's weird and immoral in a game where you romance your own brother and a girl you repeatedly beat up.

This can't be real, can it? it makes no sense that they make Dusa just not interested in anything beyond friendship and if it wasn't really written this way - she was supposed to have a romance option - but it was cut because the VA refused or some shit, that would explain why its cumbersome to take a fan favorite unique character and make her the one that's not into you that way, apparently. I don't have any problems with the whole options for friendship and romance but basically being a rug pull ONLY on that character is annoying.

In trying to find evidence for Dusa's romance being cut down to apparently 'friendzone" because of a gooddamn VA, I see all kinds of people claiming it was for other reasons (ie 3 different kinds of traditional Greek concepts of love, that the studio didn't want to have romance come down to "shower girl with stuff get rewarded with sex" etc) planned, but it seems really unfortunate that you can't choose either best friendship or romance with all the romance-able npcs if you get to max faction etc. Especially if they decided to make Dusa the one where its "sorry, all friends' while the other two are more than happy to be romantic in tone.
