this, I think nintendo is just gonna stick to its own directs from now on
I kinda liked the E3, it was always something to look forward to for the summer
>I don't think Nintendo will join again.
That fewer parties will attend, and or invest less into E3, is a pretty good guess.
But Nintendo? They'll attend for sure. They have consistently invested the most into E3 and renting the most showroom floor. And before the pandemic their investment in E3 was trending upwards.
I doubt they'll just turn cold turkey like that. Rather they'll probably be the biggest party at E3. Again. But relatively the gap between them and the others might be even larger this time depending on how much the other parties will invest.
Why the hell would they? No really why? the last two years have proven that most major studios and devs can just rent out their own building and livestream their own event and not have to fit into E3s time scheduale or pay E3 for stage space.
I am because I get free tickets and live close enough to drive there. Lines are pretty bad though for anything popular so I might stick to the indies and wacky peripherals this time.
>2023 >Will still have all their Covid moronation going on >Probably will have troony and/or drag queen presenters like 2021
Frick it. E3 died a long time ago. RIP Booth Babes
I was just at LACC for AX and probably half of the people there had a mask on despite them requiring it to enter the building or any panel. Most would just take it off afterwards. They did require showing vax cards to get wristbands though.
They say it'll be back now, but come March of next year, they'll make up some excuse like "not enough of the US population got their 8th boosters" and they'll cancel it again, covering up the real reason; no publisher gives a shit anymore.
>the folks behind PAX
This could actually be a good thing. PAX is typically primarily geared towards fans and giving them the opportunity to play new and upcoming games. If they're hosting E3, then they can make it fan oriented.
This is what e3 should be changed to now that companies have the ability to Livestream their announcements of new titles. Instead E3 should just focus on the showroom floor and give fans access to demos of games.
They could also host panels with guests who work in the gaming industry with q+a sessions, merch giveaways and booths, etc.
Everyone has decided to do their own thing, so I don't know what there is to be excited for. Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo all do their own shows now, so what's going to be left for E3?
>if you mean buying floorspace sure but they don't do their live events there anymore
They do air their pre-recorded presentation live on stage at E3. Both on the show floor and behind closed doors. Just as if it was a live presentation.
The only real difference is that it's pre-recorded. It's still shown live at E3.
>E3 starts >Konami gets the mic >Shows a trailer of a legendary game, that bought them to the stars >Screen is completely dark >You can see some mechanical things >It's like an engine, but circular >It's a bunch of gears in a box. Not wooden gears, but something made of iron >They are metal gears >Smoke comes on the screen >Explosion of colors >It's bomberman triple-tap sony mania enderdragon+ edition >Featuring the boss' scar >Featuring liquid snake's amputated arm >Preorder bonus: 15 minutes long video called "in the making of bomberman" >DLC: snake's cigar, has the ability to light bombs faster
I fricking hated this E3
Nice. I was alright with Geoff's psuedo-E3 but I think most companies were weary to get involved, namely Nintendo, and Sony's been bowing out ever since the flute man. E3 just from the title alone has a chance to bring everybody together under one roof again, should make it a lot easier to actually watch. If we're lucky, Sony's Absolute State of Plays might even get them back in but I do doubt it.
I also enjoy taking off the week for prime shitposting. Not like I have any other events worth doing it for.
>Sony's been bowing out ever since the flute man
At least the flute man was kind of interesting, pic was just boring as shit and unnecessarily padded out the length of that presentation.
I don't disagree. I only cite him because he's the only part of the presentation I can actively remember. I forgot all about the banjo guy. God, what a shitty presentation.
I hated that conference so much. And it aired right in the middle of night in Europe too. And it was this music performance, the pre-stream hosts stalling for time as they switched venues, and then another music performance. And it was like 30+ minutes before they even showed a proper trailer.
And meanwhile they were like almost literally playing lullabies for you to fall asleep to.
One thing I hated about the absence of E3, is that the instant E3 was out of the picture it was as if all parties in the industry scrambled to space out their reveals for the season as widely as they possibly could. The complete opposite from getting everything condensed at E3.
*sloppy diarrhea noises*
more SneedPoop lmao
(heavy voice) NO
I have a strange feeling this time not many companies will show up, just third parties and maybe xbox. I don't think Nintendo will join again.
Less time wasted, more games shown. Sounds like a net positive.
Nice joke. Nintendo is the only one who actually shows games at the things
(You)
Truth
Everyone else shows trailers for things still 2 or more years away...
this, I think nintendo is just gonna stick to its own directs from now on
I kinda liked the E3, it was always something to look forward to for the summer
we'll get conferences unrelated to games, like the trannies and muh blacks
>I don't think Nintendo will join again.

Microsoft is guaranteed to attend since the Microsoft theater is next door to the LACC.

E3 needed to die
Only 340 days to E3.
good, I've missed these squilliam threads
Just let it die already
>Reed pop
Oh that's a really, really bad sign.
What the frick is reed pop?
it's when you poop black
only if they bring back booth babes
The loss of booth babes marked the downfall of not just E3, but all conventions.
>Announcing it this early so Geoff doesn't pull a fast one and steal all their partners
IT'S HAPPENING. CRINGEKINO IS BACK ON THE MENU BOYS
cringe
>Reed
I am because I get free tickets and live close enough to drive there. Lines are pretty bad though for anything popular so I might stick to the indies and wacky peripherals this time.
Yes. Unironically.
RedPoop bros, we're going to see a doctor
they better bing back mascot dancing on stage, zealous musicians and ubisoft cringekino.
I want the sony flute guy back
Crowbcatbros, we're back.
>PAX
More troony pandering, womyn in gaming and Black folk all over the place... No thanks.
Aww sorry James, guess white people are all doomed then. Gonna have to paint yourself black and cut your dick off.
Who gives a shit, E3 has been crap since. The frick are the booth babes!?
Can't wait for the next T2 "conference".
I'm ready for the diversity pandering to get booed to oblivion and Ganker being nothing but twiiter screenshots afterwards
Lmao
Confession
E3 has been one of the best days of the year for me for the last 2 decades. I missed it dearly last year.
yeah, can't be worse than whatever the frick geoff's show is
The internet has completely replaced E3.
>no big company will participate
I miss when we had 1 week of good announcements instead of 3 months of absolute shit scattered every week
Jesus after the crap this year? And the crap last year? The crap EVERY year? NO!
>2023
>Will still have all their Covid moronation going on
>Probably will have troony and/or drag queen presenters like 2021

inb4 it gets cancelled again
Can't wait for more Ubisoft conference cringe
god dammit I want to be white
I know I'm coping but I really want PlayStation and Nintendo to have a live stage presence again.
Live presentations are dead
Playstation never managed to replace E3 with anything equally good.
after how terrible this year and the last couple were yeah i actuallyt am
Next year's E3 will be open to homosexuals and transgenders only
They say it'll be back now, but come March of next year, they'll make up some excuse like "not enough of the US population got their 8th boosters" and they'll cancel it again, covering up the real reason; no publisher gives a shit anymore.
This shit is still going?
I don't even watch the highlights anymore.

Really? The PAX people are called reedpop for some reason?
somewhat but only for the cringy moments for some good laughs
I haven't watched one of these in years, and i'm glad for it.
Kind of.
I just want real live shows again.
Indifferent, I don't care.
yes
Absolutely.
Dorito Pope's presentations fricking blow and there are way too many smaller ones that popped up after E3 "died".
Give me the live presentations back please.
Yea. Geoff's non-E3 have fricking sucked and I hate that the content is spread out over weeks instead of days
I thought that I wanted E3 gone, but now that I've seen the alternative?
Holy shit please come back, I missed you.
Yes. I never wanted E3 to die.
Cringekino incoming

>Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo all do their own shows now, so what's going to be left for E3?
Nintendo haven't skipped out on a single E3 ever.
if you mean buying floorspace sure but they don't do their live events there anymore and were the first to abandon them for youtube.

Do they do cringe shit like Wii Music still? That's the only thing I care about. Getting some corporate guy showing a video isn't nearly as good.
None of the big companies are going to bother.
>abandons e3
>abandons tgs
Not surprising, they pretty much abandon Japan at this point.
Ok.
