EA lost the Fifa licence and their next football game is gonna be called 'EA Sports FC 24' with made up players, clubs and crap lmao. Will normies actually buy this shit? I don't think they will tbh, not nearly as much anyway.

It's All Fucked Shirt $22.14 |
probably depends on if there's competition and if there's someone online that will create rosters with player names like they used to do with NCAA football games
OP here, I'm actually wrong. They do have most of the real teams and players. They've secured deals with UEFA and plenty of others. Apparently the only major team missing is AC Milan, but they still have all their players, so they'll just change the name/patterns for that one team. It won't make a difference to EA at all. Oh well.
Fifa apparently asked to double their usual licencing fee of $150 million. All EA really got out of that was be able to call their game 'FIFA' apparently. Dumb move by Fifa lol, it was free money for literally nothing and now EA will be $150,000,000 richer every year.
>implying anyone will buy it without the title
Brand recognition is everything.
FIFA has been making some moronic decisions lately, to the point there's people speculating it might end up dissolved by their own incompetence.
They also said they would release their own game with the FIFA name, but without any of the refinements EA has been doing to the series during the decades, didn't they? I know the games haven't evolved a lot after some years, but they still knew how to make them control better than any other divegrass game out there.
>with made up players, clubs and crap lmao.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA a yankie talking about sport games, just for the record this makes you sound like a moron, stay in your element fatty,
FIFA & EA are shit,
>watch trailers on youtube
>comments are nothing but b***hing
>they will buy the game anyways
Why are sports gays like this?
It's not like the alternatives are better. Konami basically gave up and that was the only direct competitor to EA.
Same as COD fans. Every single year they b***h but they always buy the game and the microtransactions while b***hing about them, too. They're actual fricking morons. Every single year COD and Fifa get terrible user metacritic scores but they're bought in millions every time.
the worst part of this is they are using it as a way to normalize stats between men adn women in FUT, so the front hole players will have 90+ stats like the men lmao
What's wrong with this? It means people will actually use those players. I remember there was an achievement for playing a match with women players and it had an unlock rate of under 5%(and that's including people doing it just for the achievement itself) so clearly the old method wasn't working.
>With made up clubs.
Don't they own licences for PL and CL?
>no brasileirão série a/b/c/d
>no diving mechanic
>no CWC
Not buying.
since baldurs goy 3 proves dgeneracy sells, will they finally have nudist streakers in this one
Pirlo got a ptsd-attack from Istanbul 2005
Has the womens football league been memed into being a real thing yet? I see the shilling but im too fat to even watch sport.
women's football is in the game yes, and women's football has existed for a while, the israelites keep trying to push it to make more money (and left wing clowns fall for it) but most people still dont give a frick
How about the audience? Did women start giving a shit or are men watching the women play?
the female world cup is going on rn, so the interest is higher, from what I've seen, the quality of play has increased, it's not bad
>it's not bad
yes it is
i've just seen clips, it's okay
i remember reading about it being round of 16 right now and it already broke irl attendance record for a single tournament, so interest has definitely risen
football Black folk are so dumb its fricking unreal
Normies will still call it FIFA24.
What's the appeal of football games? Genuinely curious. The only knowledge I have of these are the fricking divegrass tourneys between generals on /vg/.
in relation to fifa
>casual players buy the game and just play kick off matches with no stakes with their favourite teams they watch
>miniority play less popular modes, like player career, or virtual clubs, where you play asa a single player in a team with others
>a bigger minority plays manager mode where you lead your team, sign players and so on
>the biggest amount of players play ultimate team, which is a card collecting mode, is the money maker of the series due to microtransactions, daily small updates, promos and so on
ultimate team also has a whole scripted rig system where bad players will be given an advantage to keep them playing, for example you could be winning a game easily and then all of a sudden your players start running slowly, are unable to make passes and shots correctly, your AI keeper won't do anything right, while the other player's team is suddenly easily hitting amazing shots and scoring without much effort.
scripting does appear to be a thing yes, but i don't really see a rhyme or reason to it, i've just seen people being screwed with this on the random
it can be random but generally speaking (at least when i last played FUT like 10 years ago) it was mostly that when i was winning it would trigger in the other players favor, or when i was losing in mine.
yes, I remember it being this way too, but this fifa, from what I've seen, it's just been happening to anyone and everyone at random, maybe it's server, maybe scripting, both and more I guess
probably just EA incompetence then, didn't know about that
Playing this 2v2 locally with a whole bunch of friends is actually really fun. The two players that win stay on, the losing team gets kicked off and another team comes on. It's a great way to chill and it's genuinely fun af. It's also really cool when you and your buddy are on fire and stay on the whole night dominating. Ganker doesn't have friends though so it wouldn't understand 2bh.
>everything is fun with friends hurr durrr
Nah, Fifa is particularly good in this regard. It's genuinely a good game. Of course I don't buy that shit year after year but my normie friends do and playing it at their places over some beers doesn't get old.
>made up players
I see a few players and old stars there so doesn't seem that bad
Being based on IRL teams is the only flimsy justification sports games even have for being annual franchises.
I really hope this will force ea to shut down but I doubt it.
Normies will still buy it and keep calling it FIFA
my headcanon is that the real FIFA organisation will just not make any new games soon, and they are going to wait for some EA investors meeting after the game has been out for a bit, swoop in with a slightly improved offer for the rights and just hope that the investors upset with the current standing of the game will force EA to take the deal
EA already built a cult around it, it'll sell more than the past releases just like it does every year. I got a cheap code for the latest one and it's incredible how bad it is compared to the product released 10 years ago.
I don't think that they are going to lose too much money on this game, their biggest moneymaker is ultimate team, and a lot of players check in every day to see what is new, I doubt that they aren't going to buy the new release because the title screen is different this year
it will hurt the casual market a bit I guess, but I don't feel like it's this big of a deal as it used to be
Of course they can't use real players, no one can anymore, you can't portray reality in a dystopia.
I did my best.
The last enjoyable FIFA was 14. And that was already 10 years ago.
