ER has too much history at the TGA, and it exploded in popularity way beyond expectations, as well as generating a small but healthy amount of controversy from jurno types and other game devs. It's gonna win.
>Every time I remember Elden Ring I get mad at the wasted potential. Melina could be so much more.
every time I remember [From game post-DeS] I get mad at the wasted potential
It would have been so much better if it didn't have multiplayer or chalice dungeons because co-op, pvp and covenants are gutted and chalice dungeons are extremely repetitive which heavily decreases overall quality, so no, it's not FromSoftware at max potential.
It's shit from the start.
Only Stonefang's and Latria's verticality even get close to the level design in the other games.
Most mid game mines from ER is far better designed then anything in DeS

Black person wtf do you even want? Elden Ring was one of the best games I've ever played that's only let down a bit in the last 2 areas.
If this game is wasted potential then literally every game is shit.
considering hair styles for younger versions of the demi-gods were found, it's probs gonna be a time warp. Miyazaki fricking loves a good time warp to answer some questions.
>This is the 7th time we've made a DLC where you go back in time and defeat a previously mentioned hero of lore and we've become exceedingly efficient at it
Artorias - DS1
King of the Giants - DS2
Gael - DS3
Ludwig / Clockgirl - Bloodborne
Father Memory - Sekiro
Godfrey the Golden <---- You are here
half of those aint dlc bruh
Gael doesnt count since we only meet him at dlc1 and we go to THE FUTURE to fight him in dlc2.
Ony arty and ludwig fit the "fight old hero in the dlc by going back in time" trope, not even Maria counts since her name isnt even mentioned in base BB.
nitpicky af, doesn't matter if its backwards forwards in time, it's all a form of time warping for epic showdowns and to answer previous questions. Meeting Gael at the end of time when he'd mopped up the other 50% of the dark soul with the only the two of you left was kino.
Ludwig doesn't fit it at all. The Hunter's Nightmare isn't time travel. It's an endless dimension dream created by the Orphan of Kos where all hunters who died in the night of the hunt are trapped. Every single one of them has been there in an endless hunt ever since they died.
Only Artorias is set in the past. >Pretty sure DS2 DLCs are set in the same period as main game >Bloodborne is set in a dream that acts as hell. Not going back to the past >Dark souls 3 is set in a painted world + the future

picked it up during this sale and been playin nonstop
its very simplified and arcadey so dont go expecting factorio levels of autism but its fun
im near the end though i have access to all resources i just gotta build up the starter map and work on the rift portal building
massed lasers seems to be working best for me, with artillery support for defenses. maybe ill get the nuke artillery set up and see how that works
in terms of weapons ive been mostly using the minigun, grenade launcher, burst rifle
>2013 character model in 2022 release
Why is this the one thing FROM just cant get right?
The actual designs are fine but the execution is so low quality.
would be fricking cool if the dlc is the follow up to that ending, sadly there is no way they release content that you can get only by following a specific ending
>From keeps making games where 99% of narrative load is on past events, with the present being little more than a ruined world filled with shambling zombies >every single interesting event, location, and person is far in the past, long since destroyed, or far beyond its prime >the games thus consistently showcase every aspect of the setting at its least dynamic and interesting >equally consistently, a DLC will bring you back to more interesting times, when interesting npcs were still around, and places less of a hollow-infested ruin shithole
Maybe one day From will make a game that's just set in the "past" from the get-go, as opposed to making yet another barren zombie shithole, realizing that the history of the setting is the only remotely interesting part about it, and then going back to the past in some DLC.
They are obviously tuned for endgame except the first DS3 DLC which is a bit lower. Some of the bosses are harder than the rest of the game (Ludwig, Manus) but not always.
No and I never do with this sort of shit. I just think >Thank frick that cancer is over
and am happy I can move on from it. I get more sense of achievement from a hard, but fair, boss
The joke, of course, is that the same type of boss worked infinitely in Bloodborne. Both Lady Maria and Orphan were tons of fun to fight, because they were essentially duels. They had more/different abilities than you, but they more or less moved in the same ways and at the same speed as the player. The fights were tough, but incredibly fair, and thus not particularly frustrating.
ER meanwhile has the player back to being a slow Dark Souls shitter, rolling clumsily to and fro, while the enemies still move at Bloodborne speeds and beyond. Which makes them very frustrating and "unfair", as they always feel like they're playing by different rules than the player. Watching Maliketh doing his dumb flips and wall runs isn't fun, it's uninteractive. Watching Maliena go through her 20 hit combo with no openings isn't fun. Dancing around Orphan or Maria, using openings to sneak a hit in before dodging her backswing, that's fun and dynamic.
>roll forward >get slapped in the asscheeks by her wide long range followup swing anyway >or she just straight up does a 180 if you get behind her mid-combo

They are usually harder, but at the same time better, than the main game bosses. That being said, I don't expect them to make a boss as bullshit as Malenia. Slave Knight Gale or Darkeater Midir are good examples.
nothing compares to malenia. gael is pretty fun and a fair fight, friede can be rough if you dont know how many phases she has or the giant but after a few tries you should be able to get it

Dual wielding Great Stars jump L1 spam is stupidly good and you don't need to go to NG+ to get a second one now.
Much lighter than colossal weapons while using way less stamina, dealing similar damage and stagger, innate bleed, heals on every hit.
War Cry charged R2 spam on a cold colossal sword is also very good, I used that to go all the way to the consecrated snowfield on a level 20 character with +3 weapons. Just remember to have a highland axe on the offhand while you 2H the big sword for the passive bonus + the axe talisman and roar medallion.
did they ever patch it so that if you do the chaos shit and then get it removed from you by killing that one boss and using the needle, melina stops hating you?
Why should she, the needle is not a cure, it just subdues the affliction, and you saw how it ended for Malenia
because you don't get the curse ending if you use the needle
Well duh, otherwise why have it as an item in this video game at all
they should've just taken it out.
Yea, because it is subdued. Now your just an Elden Lord with aids

would be fricking cool if the dlc is the follow up to that ending, sadly there is no way they release content that you can get only by following a specific ending
I hope they make fist weapons fun to use. the fact that you can't use like 80% of the ashes of war with fists/claws is moronic.
Not to mention most bosses have a giant invisible collision hitbox that makes actually connecting with a swing an awful experience
I'll never go for the cool chaos ending because it kills Torrent.
I fricking hope so
I know these games are always grimdark shit, but for real what are the chances you can get a Save Melina and marry her ending?
According to what's been data mined, it seems like the first DLC we will be going back in time.
>From keeps making games where 99% of narrative load is on past events, with the present being little more than a ruined world filled with shambling zombies

They are obviously tuned for endgame except the first DS3 DLC which is a bit lower. Some of the bosses are harder than the rest of the game (Ludwig, Manus) but not always.
So Elden Ring dlc will be tuned for like level 150 characters or something?
Be prepared for the worst
Can't wait for enemies to keep scaling even further into infinity, while my character hit its softcaps sometime in Leyndell. Stellar design, Fromsoft.
Open world meme kills another potentially great game
god i fricking dread the amount of bullshit they would have to pull to make a worse fight than malenia

Probably not that hard, but usually harder than most base game bosses. You really should play them, especially Artorias and Ringed City.

How the hell are they going to have balanced dlc in this when its an open world game where players could be level 20 or level 200?
Balance in a fromsoftgame?
Are you new to soulsborne games or something?
Probably lock it behind beating some bosses, like entering the capital
I hope they release a separate, linear, dlc, like a standalone campaign, where you need to create a new char to access it
like a mini-DS3. make it hard as frick while you're at it.
What if you played as Melina?
And then at the end you die and gets reborn at the beginning of the main game at NG+, keeping your inventory and level
I work for Mr Ring (owner of Elden Ring), the DLC is all about Radahn and Miquella
The DLC won't fix the glaring issue with the base game: it is boring beyond stormveil
But really though if the dlc is out in say march of 2023 then an entire year after the release of the game so a lot of players could be level 200 so will just demolish all the enemies in the dlc
there's very little difference between level 100 and level 200
the solution is to make 1/4 or 1/3 of the dlc mid-game RL and the rest as hard as Haligtree or even more
Worked for the DS3 dlcs
What's is a decent Cheesing build? kinda wanna get back into the game
strength with some faith and greatsword with lions claw
even more op than any katana bleed bullshit because it staggers everything
literally just play any magic build and you will never have to sweat past early game
as a magic gay, elden ring is a treat. after decade of abuse we are finally eating good
any greatsword or greathammer with Flame of the redmande
any halberd (glaive, guardian swordspear etc.) with ice spear
basically any weapon (you will barely use it anyway) with an ash of war that stagger and can be spammed from a distance
I missed the blood sword back at release as I killed the fire giant before trying to get it. Did they patch in another way to get it since then?
Bunch of npc invasions that stopped when you beat a certain boss, like vyke, were fixed but I dont know about the guy you need
Discount DS III already you japjews
