>miyazaki is asked about the size of DLC's map
>refers to limgrave for no reason
He will make his grand return in the shadow lands mark my words.
The age of Kenneth Haight, Lord of Limgrave is upon us knightedbros. We will ride alongside Kenneth's general Nepheli Loux, into Miquellas domain
Are we ready?
I hope the DLC unlocks different endings instead of being completely isolated from the base game
>dlc unlock different endings
Sorry anon, miyazaki confirmed it's never touching the base game, it's completely self contained.
https://s.famitsu.com/news/202402/22335199.html
Frick
disappointing but not surprising. if I were Miyazaki I'd fix the shit hole that is mountaintops and 4 of the endings before doing anything else
There's nothing about the endings or Mountaintops to fix
yea if you like eating feces
Does the Dung Eater ending really salvage the last part of the game?
>nothing about Mountaintops to fix
Come on now. It's easily the lowpoint of the game. Pacing hits rock bottom and there isn't a single new enemy type after Lyndell Capital except.
It's the Lost Izalith of ER.
What about adding stuff to it, you know as not to make it a hallway to the worst fight in the game just to leave immediately after to a much Cooler area.
What's wrong with the 4 "leaves tell a story" endings?
Was the problem about how all 4 of have tiny visual differences, all following the same template and ending the exact same way with just a colour filter and change of words? If so I feel the same it's a big let down
But if the issues are the ways we get those endings then you're moronic, 2 of them have entire npc quests attached and fias is extensive as frick overlapping with rannis. And the normal ending is what you except, using the runes you've gotten to repair the ring as basely told
Forgot to say the 4th gold mask ending isn't bad either, it takes sleuthing to get it, but it's obviously the weakest of the 3 mending rune quests, gearing gold mask speak for the first time as he lays dying would've given it more impact
what is it with you spergs and this senseless mountain top hatred? do you gays just meet up and conjure up some stupid bullshit to shit post about and stick to it no matter what? have a nice day. nothing wrong with the endings either.
at this point the game could be crafted by gods and you homosexuals would still seethe at it. no game has ever received the amount of scrutiny as Elden Ring. its just absurd. just come out and say it you homosexuals. say that you hate fromsoft bo what what they make or the quality of their games. be upfront about it you bunch of parasitic worms.
not reading all that cope
ER is mid get over it
cope? there is nothing to cope. I play games I enjoy and completely avoid and ignore the ones I have no interest in. Elden ring for me is the greatest game ever conceived and soon there will be
more of it. there is nothing to cope, homosexual.
dont give the troon (You)s
you sound really secure
not
keep coping
>what is it with you spergs and hating terrible level design
Almost like it's a video game.
you are delusional. no game has the scope and grandeur of elden ring, none! only other games that come close are other fromsoft titles. stick to your homosexual propaganda filled western indie shits. have fun you Black person.
>no game has the scope and grandeur of elden ring
I really liked all those copypasted enemies and linear corridor dungeons.
I liked when two identical minibosses also had nearly the exact same name. I thought that was very cheeky of them.
elden ring is a top 5 game for me but its extremely obvious the mountaintops were highly rushed and filled with filler enemies due to dev time constraints
I don't hate the mountaintops, but I wish they had some unique enemies. Rather than anger or sperging it's more of a mild disappointment for a single area in the game which doesn't really detract from the fact that I had a ton of fun with it.
homie, I just wish that the Caelid Crows/T. Rex dogs were replaced with something else.
I can't read moon so I'll blindly believe you and be disappointed about it.

>miyazaki confirmed it's never touching the base game
Not really, he can still change some things on the base game
Probably no new ending, but I wouldnt be surprised if we get another Sif/Artorias difference moment with Malenia depending on when you complete Miquellas DLC quest
>but I wouldnt be surprised if we get another Sif/Artorias difference moment with Malenia depending on when you complete Miquellas DLC quest
And with Melina right...
we are only allowed to save frail flowers like dusk
melina is meant to sacrifice herself or live the rest of her life trying to kill us
But the needle... I saved her and didn't destroyed the world...
Acknowledge my sacrifice, game
unfortunately for you, miyazaki is not a hopeless romantic
>FK
>Ranni
ER went pretty ham on the waifubait compared to the usual FS game
>Rya calls you her champion
>Nepheli wants to serve you
>Sellen wants you to stay at the academy even if you don't manage to become elden lord
>Fia lets you motorboat her
>Ranni
>live the rest of her life trying to kill us
Then can I actually kill her? It has no payoff if it doesn't happen
We will probably get an option to become miquellas consort in the shadow lands but still be able to do whatever other ending.
Harem chad.
There is literally no other ending that makes sense for Elden Ring
>90% of lore and plot threads will just not even be referenced in the dlc.
We already see the Blood Star/Thorn iconoclast, Miquella, Marika before the Golden Order, Crucible folklore and Death priests
Also Messmer has the same eye as Melina
>There is literally no other ending that makes sense for Elden Ring
What are you talking about? Miyzaki could pull literally anything from his ass. There isn't a single thing in Elden Ring set in stone.
Wrong, all the endings cover all the possible endings for the Lands Between post-Shattering.
Life in Death (Duskborn)
Life and Rebirth (Order)
Life in Eternal Struggle (Fracture)
Life with Reproduction (Despair)
Back to the One Great (Frenzy)
Sealing the Elden Ring away from the power struggles of the Lands Between, with an Order distant
moron
It has unique bosses and doesn't warrant any new enemies because it can be done in 20 minutes maybe.
>all the endings cover all the possible endings
no they don't, there's no such thing
fromsoftware can just make up another one just like they made up shit for the dlcs, everything in elden ring is extremely vague
it isn't, everything in Elden Ring ties to the possible outcomes related to the Erdtree, what kind of ruleset you choose for the world. There's no ending missing
>unique bosses
Fire giant and?
>doesn't warrant any new enemies because it can be done in 20 minutes maybe.
What kind of argument is this? Just because you can run past everything you don't need to place new enemies there?
Exploring them thouroughly takes way more than 20 minutes anyway.
>Life with Reproduction (Despair)
More life with eternal torment wtf
>talking in absolutes about a fantasy game where your imagination is the only thing stopping you
Holy autism
What about the Miquella's-Haligtree-succeeds ending? Obviously Miquella didn't succeed, but there's a potential post-Shattering ending when the Erdtree is replaced by some tree or tree-like system
you know people made fun of that freakish methed out dragon age elf but I'd have sex with her if you know what I mean.
>Marika before the Golden Order
Whats sad is that people who don't know you're wrong will actually start repeating this lie.
The lady in the painting probably isn't Marika. There's more evidence of her having a connection to Fia than Marika.
I played Elden ring today and used one of the bewitching branches JUST TO CONFIRM the pink spell has the SAME PINK BUTTERFLY EFFECTS as seen in the trailer (it does).
Im ready to claim the charm spell and charm some demi humans to fight my enemies for entertainment.
I also farmed a bit and fully upgraded St Trina's sword to max incase sleep ends up being very useful in the DLC.
I think Kenneth Haight will be the one to show you to the DLC area if not outright continue his quest. I think his robes were the ones standing outside the cocoon.
I predict there will be subtle hints that Miquella is up to no good and his ending will be optional like any other, but he will extensively lie to you and tell you to mend the rune to help him.
I beat castle Sol today and the ghost on the top balcony near the haligtree medallion half said something like "oh lord miquella, our faith wasnt enough the sun did not go out" or something like that.
Was that always in there? I guess they removed the sun from the shadow world because frick the golden light.
God I hope, I got branchpilled on my recent playthrough, it truly makes the late game seem like they want you to use it strategically. You can even just charm a lone tough enemy just to turn it passive.
>subtle hints that Miquella is up to no good
I don't think anyone believes miquella has good intentions
Miquella's plan seems to have been to take all the gold from the sun, during the eclipse, and fashioned it into an unalloyed needle great enough that it'd be able to set Godwyn free from his unlife. There are statues in the Haligtree of a grown up (post-cocoon) Miquella wielding a needle/spear thing
It is a complete stand alone with scaling. Absolute trash dlc. What a waste
No new endings but also not completely isolated from the base game
The most depressing thing about the base game was that the most based faction (Volcano Manor) didn't get it'd own ending
>Tanith simping for anacondawiener to the point of mass tarnished slaughter
how is Volcano Manor the most based
mother daughter snussy incest threesome w/ tarnished
Inseki*, Tanith adopted Rya. The only way it can become incest is by adding the snake to the fun but that's freakier.
At least they're honest by telling you that what you're doing is wrong and you can leave if you want.
Feeding you to a serpent is kinda bad but, hey who knows, maybe it's pleasant in there. Plus you get to devour the very gods together as family.
It should offer at least 1 unique ending. It would be very dumb if we still only had two marriage options.
I agree with this anon, Miquela is needed for straight women
Sorry, he only fricks type a tarnished.
Miquella is built for LORDs not LADIES.
>b-b-but
Nope, vyke and vargram are canonically men.
It affects the ending in the sense that you just take care of the threat that was going to cause you big problems after you became Elden Lord - or take over after you leave with Ranni.
Yeah, maybe the DLC will recontextualize the events of the world. Like whether Miquella will stay alive and do his thing in the DLC land to cure the world from the Deadblight so that you can elope with Ranni to outer space without baggage or something.
you're too optimistic.
90% of lore and plot threads will just not even be referenced in the dlc. melina will remain a complete non entity of a character, we won't find out any more about the gloam eyed queen. just like ds3 was suddenly about the random fricker Gael
??? What ds3 main game plot thread did you want expanded as a dlc??? Everything we get in ds3 either takes from the past 2 games or is established enough that we don't need an entire dlc detailing it
No Kaathe was disappointing
>he thinks the Dark Souls 3 DLC came out of nowhere
Why are so many people who play these games functionally illiterate
>Why are so many people who play these games functionally illiterate
They treat not understanding something as a mark of pride for some reason.
I'm guessing you're a secondary and only played the game post dlc launch because gael, or anything mentioning him, are not in the base game at all until those released.
As to why they made a new NPC the main story point? From ran out of ds1 content to circlejerk over and had to pull something.
I don't know why anyone cares about shitty stories from Fromsoft after the Ringed City revealed the pygmy crap and Gwyn retcon
Actually that's Miquella's "physical" form he manifested while in Shadow place
Think about it, blonde, royal and most importantly extremely attractive adult man, something Miquella could never achieve
You're right......shes clearly the ulcerated tree spirit
Miquella could take on several disguises and be an illusionist. Which could fit in with the Mesmer bad guy.
He said it was going to be densely packed.
you are correct, lorelets btfo'd by tism
fastest way to get there is do Varre's questline and volcano manor stuff. My NG+ character breezed through everything until I hit the snow area.
Huh? First I am hearing of it. Theyve always had themes of giants, little people becoming the new normal sized people as the giants die, alien influence, spirit influence. What hints have they ever done that arent you just looking with hindsight 20/20?
If anything, the strangest thing is the lore bit of albinaurics being man-made things and made me think of androids that assemble themselves like how the silver tears do it, but I hate it so dont think about it.
>Huh? First I am hearing of it.
Everyone wants them to do a repeat of Chester from DS1 DLC hinting at Bloodborne
Limgrave is small. For 2/3 of base price I'd want 2/3 the content.
Realistically it could be a 5 hour campaign and id still pay 60 dollars like the fromdrone I am
Bought ER during launch and i'm still not done exploring Limgrave
Anon it's been 2 years are you ok? Do you need a rescue squad?
Limgrave is easily 100-200 hours if you're taking your time to explore everything.
man dont fricking lie lmaoo, the whole game is 100-200 hours if you take your time, limgrave is AT MOST 30 hours and thats pushing it
the DLC will be 40 hours TOP
>Limgrave is easily 100-200 hours
Bruh, it's at best 20 hours.
i took my sweet time and limgrave took me about 45 hours, you're full of shit
Limgrave might not be as physically large as other areas in the game, but you have to be one big fricking moron if you think the question was about physical size.
He literally mentioned surface area when talking about the limgrave comparison
>general seluvis' puppet
uhhhh
What do I need to make it through RL1?
>inb4 autism
I know I need the soreseals, perhaps actually make use of the great runes, and other stuff like the gargoyle masks to meet certain stat requirements. I know there's a demi-human moron staff that lets you cast basic spells with low INT. Any other tips? I know I can just hit the enemies until they die. What I've discovered so far (just gone past Stormveil) is that blocking is supremely underrated in Elden Ring. Even if you get caught out and lose your posture, you almost always survive afterward.
All you really need are weapons that let you inflict status effects.
Get a weapon with frostbite, bleed, and poison ashes of war as fast as you can.
When you get to conscecrated snowfield, grab the rotten battlehammer and slap poison on it.
Before you go to Altus Pleatau, make sure you do Bloody Finger Hunter Yura's questline so you can get raptor of the mists. It's extremely helpful on low level characters.
Don't upgrade your weapons if you want to invade.
Since you need to kill Mohg to get into the DLC, you're gonna need to pick up the purifying crimson tear, because surviving Mohg's Nihil attack at 10 vigor is impossible without it.
I'm not completely averse to cheese, either, but I won't use glitches. For example, I'm ok with rot breath on the draconic tree sentinel (maybe patched idk, but I probably won't do it anyway), I'm definitely gonna use sleep of some type on foreskin duo, but I won't like, freeze a boss's AI or zip or anything. idk if I wanna use bellbros to take some aggro off, I definitely won't summon cooperators though. I like your advice and you reminded me of raptor of the mists which is great.
I'm probably gonna spend a great deal of time gathering as many options as possible, so getting all physick flasks and spells etc is a must. Appreciate it anons
Grab the INT and FTH physik flask things then grab black flame weapon, and black flame fireball in Stormveil castle.
I'm predicting there's gonna be some mandatory boss that 90% of the DLC content is locked behind that's going to completely filter shitters getting carried. Don't be surprised when you see tons of threads complaining about DLC bosses like there are currently threads about Morgott being impossible.
I think a lot of people can just fall back on an over-leveled New Game+ character at this point
True, personally I got a low level character ready just to farm DLC weapons and randomly drop them for people.
I also got a level 50 character just to grab new DLC weapons and invade Leyndell, Raya Lucaria, Weeping Peninsula, and Caelid with.
You are both angel and devil
There's a new damage stat being added that's increased by progression in the DLC to ensure everyone starts on the same level (like how Sekiro permanently boosts your attack power by using boss memories). The only benefit being overlevelled will give you will be to enjoy a higher equip load and health pool, and meet the minimum requirements for any new gear I suppose. Having a +25 weapon and 99 DEX will have much less effect by comparison.
Those sound like good benefits
Yeah, they'll give you a leg up, but you'll be most of the way there anyway by the time you beat Mohg which is required to enter. Unless you're a speedtroony who bumrushed Varre's quest to warp to Mohg and beat him at SL30 you'll already have all the stats you require for your build by then.
I honestly doubt we'll ever see mandatory content locked behind superbosses again since a big selling point for the game was your ability to walk away from any hard bosses and do other shit. Miyazaki even said in one of the interviews for the dlc that they wanted to make it even EASIER to just walk away and come back stronger.
>let's casualize this already casual shitty babby diaper game even more
Shadows of the Floptree
You never know.
I'm only banking on the fact the did it with DS3 and the ringed city.
I mean locking the DLC behind Mohg is bad enough as it is. But he gave an answer in the interview about how he wanted the DLC content to be accessible at low level.
I imagine the Sekiro character upgrade system is going to make getting filtered impossible
They're changing how leveling works?
bro it's already behind mohg
Mohg isn't TOO bad. At least you can get to Mohg extremely early if you do Vaare's questline.
Imagine if the DLC was locked behind killing Malenia.
Imagine if Malenia had cheese builds in a game where you can easily reset your character whenever you want.
WOW
But if I use one of my 40 larval tears and reroll to a new build I might need them later
>implying killing or not killing Malenia won't play a big, secret part in it
Who could Messmer be?
Who's the old grandpa pulling the sword outta himself? And that lady next to him?
Most importantly WHAT THE FRICK IS THE SHADOW LAND?
>Who could Messmer be?
The firstborn of Marika
>Who's the old grandpa pulling the sword outta himself?
Messmer's father
>And that lady next to him?
Marika pregnant (this is very important consisering that pregnancy just doesn't happen in the Lands Between under the Golden Order, Messmer was born before the Golden Order and the Erdtree
>Most importantly WHAT THE FRICK IS THE SHADOW LAND?
It's a Realm from where Marika came from, which is now covered by the Erdtree. You can see a lot of Crucible creatures, but also Blood Star stuff, and Blasphemy related creatures. The veils in the sky are Marika's veil that hide it from the Lands Between. The Golden Order hides the ore Erdtree era
bosses
>Fire giant and?
Niall
>Niall
>unique
Caelid???
O'Neil is nothing like Niall, they don't even share movesets, one mostly summons soldiers congratulations on outing yourselves
>Niall has one new attack
>DEY R TOTAWLY DIFURENT FITES U GUISE
Niall has more attacks, even melee
The only similarity is that they both buff their soldiers, they both have some basic combos, and both have a whirlwind ability. Neil is surrounded by crossbowman usually, and can be fought with Torrent to dodge them. This makes them very unique fights
>The only similarity is that they're functionally the same boss
Okay
They aren't though
The point that it's very much different mechanically. You can find yourself surrounded by almost a dozen enemies, some of which using ranged ashes of war or crossbows, so you are pushed to use Torrent and manage them.
It also lacks the aggressiveness of Niall and uses less attacks and less area of effect, meaning eveb 1 on 1 he isn't anywhere close to Niall
>The only similarity is that they're functionally the same boss
Okay
look anon you're right in a sense, they are not identical in every way, but you know we meant unique in every sense of the word, bloody hell
>Niall
>unique boss
>The firstborn of Marika
>Messmer's father
>Marika pregnant (this is very important consisering that pregnancy just doesn't happen in the Lands Between under the Golden Order, Messmer was born before the Golden Order and the Erdtree
Wait, Marika fugged that old ugly bastard? Why? I thought her first husband was Chadfrey the first elden lord???
>It's a Realm from where Marika came from, which is now covered by the Erdtree.
How do figure that out? About where she came from?
>you can see a lot of Crucible creatures, but also Blood Star stuff, and Blasphemy related creatures. The veils in the sky are Marika's veil that hide it from the Lands Between. The Golden Order hides the ore Erdtree era
I dont understand. If the Golden order is established under the guidance of the Great Will, then shouldn't the shadow land also be governed by the great will?.
>How do figure that out? About where she came from?
Miyazaki interview
>then shouldn't the shadow land also be governed by the great will?.
The Golden Order does control the Shadow Realm. Blasphemy or not, Messmer is tied to it and still engaging in Beast communion. But the Golden Order in general uses beasts in many ways already.
>Marika fugged that old ugly bastard
Marika only fricked 2 guys, Godfrey and herself in male form
I don't think Messmer is her firstborn, maybe her first son with herself Radagaon. There was cut content about him iirc
That's true, all her previous litters had 3 each
Godwynn, Morgott, Mohg
Radagon, Rykard, Ranni
Messmer, Miquella, Malenia
G
R
M
Wouldn't call niall a new boss. maybe half a new boss lol.
Mountaintops suck. ER's lowest point, ironically.
>The firstborn of Marika
So he's Godfrey's son?
I think Messmer is modelled partly on Orpheus. Japan is obsessed with his myth and the red cloak is very classically Orpheus. Miquella is very Orpheus too since they both literally charm their targets. Travelling to Shadow realm to rescue his brother = travelling to hell to rescue his wife. Miquella tries to rescue his brother but fails.
Hopefully kid Miquella is a projection of Messmers since that would be cool imo. The two trees are symbolic of him and Godwyn, Godwyn being the deathblighted one. The pre-final fight involves the two corrupted brothers like the Lothric princes in DS3. Then you kill Eiglay as the final boss.
since we know that there is a world linked behind miquellas arm in the egg, do you guys think that gives new weight to Mohgs boss intro dialogue?
Where he says "Dearest Miquella forgive me, you must abide alone awhile"
Was he just saying he had to leave the eggs side to fight us or was Mohg LITERALLY by miiquellas side within this shadowlands? Before leaving to fight us?
messmer's whole armor set reminds me of the drake knights. he looks like a mashup of everything heretical to the golden order - dragon wings, crucible snakes, and his attacks look like bloodflame.
it makes sense story wise if this is a evil new alter ego miq made, like an opposite of saint trina, likely because of mohg's influence
Messmer committed the cardinal sin of burning the erdtree I bet
Seems most likely as well. I assume he was jealous of Godwyn and Marika's love towards him so he was like frick y'all and burned the tree only for him to be literally cast down into hell after which he began to fashion himself after everything the golden order deemed heritcal.
He could be nameless king 2.0 with Dragons swapped out for the fire giants
>He could be nameless king 2.0
shit thats it, hes nameless king
i knew this all sounded familiar
Maybe but I'm thinking more Mars. Malenia Venus? Miquella Cupid?
>Mars: Idolaters, wine-bibbers. dressed in red. Young man seated on two lions. in the right hand a drawn sword in the left a battle-axe; another picture: mounted on a bay horse, helmet on head, in the left hand a spear adorned with red roses, pennon flag, in the right hand head of a man, clad in red.
>Mars is extremely hot and dry. The lesser malefic. Male (some say female). Nocturnal. Bitter. Dark red.
>Mars: Hot, hard, sharp and red things. Length, dryness and coarseness. Tuesday (and Saturday night). Third climate. Waste, hard and stony land.
Miquella is Venus thus both the Morning and Evening Star. Beguiling like goddess Venus and Lucifer or Jesus.
Godfrey obviously Hercules, but might also be Jupiter/Zeus.
Radagon is Saturn.
Messmer is Asclepius.
Rykard is Hades.
Marika is Gaia or Cybele.
Malenia is Athena.
Radan is Mars.
Ranni is Luna.
Melina is a messenger of the gods, pick one.
Melina is literally Hades
But yeah this all makes sense
>Messmer is Judas to Godwyn's Jesus
More like he's Lucifer to Godwyn's Jesus
Rykard is more like Hades in theme, but honestly I had Hades or Asclepius for Messmer. Issue is 1. that Hades doesn't have anything to do with Snakes, we make that association because Hades = Hell, Hades = Satan, which isn't true. And 2. similar to Ranni, Messmer is evil. Which for us make sense because we obviously fight him, but we don't fight Ranni and they collaborated to destroy the Golden Order. He tries to "heal" the world by destroying the golden order. That's where he and Ranni diverged. Technically Miquella is also evil in the mind of the Golden Order, that's why he is Jesus and Judas.
I feel like Godwyn is more like Baldr or something. There do appear to be multiple pantheons.
Godfrey = Norse
Marika = Greco-Roman
Radagon = ???
>similar to Ranni, Messmer is evil
Also
>Marika = Greco-Roman
>Radagon = ???
More like
>Marika = Greco
>Radagon = Roman
Oh the snek
I don't think any God is necessarily tied to one specific character or religion. Elding Ring is full of references to Greek, Norse, biblical and even alchemical themes mixed in with each other.
These demigods/planets/archons are literally in all religions though, just with different names.
And most universal myths*
I meant
and real miquella is the malenia of the dlc
checked
>Who could Messmer be?
He's a son of Marika and Radagon. (He's the fiery butterfly.)
>Who's the old grandpa pulling the sword outta himself?
Miquella's husband, his physical corpse was made into Ensha's armor.
>And that lady next to him?
Is Miquella.
>Most importantly WHAT THE FRICK IS THE SHADOW LAND?
The land of the dead. Duh.
>He's a son of Marika and Radagon. (He's the fiery butterfly.)
Correct
>Miquella's husband, his physical corpse was made into Ensha's armor.
Sounds interesting. Care to elaborate?
>Is Miquella.
I could see that
>The land of the dead. Duh.
Wrong. It's literally the shadow of the erd tree which used to be a part of the lands between until Marika probably cast a veil on top of it.
I think it probably is the land of the dead, or at least a place strongly associated with death and access to the afterlife. Marika removed Destined Death from the Elden Ring and instead instituted her Golden Order which is a regime of reincarnation via the Erdtree. I suspect the tree we see under the veil is the Helphen, which is the tree of death that shepherds spirits into the afterlife, and the Erdtree is tapping into it parasitically, sort of reusing the machinery of death to enable Erdtree reincarnation. Marika's veil covers the secret of the Shadowland the same way the veil on her bed/throne represents the secret of Marika and Radagon. So whatever the reveal is about Marika it'll probably end up raising more questions than it helps to answer
>It's literally the shadow of the erd tree which used to be a part of the lands between until Marika probably cast a veil on top of it.
Marika usurped the Lands Between from control of the previous God: the Gloameyed Queen
Taking the Elden Ring from her to become the new God.
But she removed Destined Death from the Ring so that her dynasty would be without end, unlike Gloamy's kingdom of death.
If the Shadow Lands are physically underneath everything or something like that... Then it's possibly a dumpster where things from the Gloameyed Queen's reign were put in the reconstitution and creation of the Erdtree. (e.g. post crucible)
As for Ensha:
>Armory graces with gold human bones.
Worn by the unspeaking adherent of Sir Gideon the All-Knowing.
>It is said that the bones belong to an ancient lord - the soulless king. The lord of the lost and desperate, who was known as Ensha.
Old guy has golden bones.
And as Ensha he attacks you when you get a piece of the Heiligtree lift amulet.
Given how gay Miquella is... And that as he needs a Lord to be a God proper...
His husband being this Ensha whose corpse was made into the Royal Remains set would make sense.
Ensha=Royal Remains set=old man in the DLC
He's busy simping for le strang indepoondant woorior wahmon (who had a mental breakdown because her surrogate daddy kicked her out and had to be gifted a legendary spirit by you — a spirit that didn't see you worthy of it btw — to recover from the emotional trauma.
why would I give a shit about a stormhawks approval? Regardless if its some slightly larger beaky? It's a fricking stormhawk, grow a backbone anon if the ashes not responding irks you, there's 500 way cooler and revered ashes waiting on you hands and knees.
I'm just pissed nepheli's quest ends so abruptly and the next time you see her is just before the end of the game as Godfrey's summon. Kenneth just gets to plow the tomboy while I have to make do with Sellen
>completely misses the point
sasuga moron
IM SICK OF ALL THE BLIND Black folk IN THESE THREADS SHE HAS DARK HAIR THE BRAIDED BITS ARE PART OF HER CLOTHES IT IS NOT HER HAIR IT IS NOT MARIKA OR ANY KNOWN BLONDE CHARACTERS BECAUSE THE HAIR IS CLEARLY DARK
THIS IS BRENDEN FROM POKEMON ALL OVER AGAIN
it's saint trina
I think you're right
She's wearing a shawl similar to a wormface. Maybe wormfaces are death blighted Numen.
Holy fricking shit this is the first fresh clue get I've seen here bravo anon. God damn. Perhaps it's fia since death blight but that's too forward thinking I guess
I don't think it's too far fetched, the tree in the trailer is covered by what looks like a massive baldachin which is another nod to Fia and her ceremonies.
Worm faces are obviously deathblighted Tree Guardians
it's the gloam eyed queen
Huh? The bracers and hood don't match at all.
The lady from the painting is the Gloam Eyed Queen, pregnant with Marika.
The Shadowlands are literally
>Where the goddess Marika first set foot
i.e. where she was born i.e. 'the lands of the Numen' who are 'denizens from another world'.
Who else might might also be Numen? That is right the Black Knife Assassins, all women of Numen decent.
The old man is obviously the Tree Guy from the statues and Marika's dad.
What's the tree guy in the bottom left pic holding?
He is holding one of the fruits/flowers/pinecones/whatever on the end of a branch by the tree he is being consumed by.
Thanks. Now I see it. Although I'm not sure if the top statue corresponds with the old man on the right. The bottom statue definitely does.
Perhaps because of this Miyazaki will subvert our expectations and Miquella will be pure of heart.
There is also this version of the guy at round table hold.
the goddess Marika first set foot
i.e. where she was born i.e. 'the lands of the Numen' who are 'denizens from another world'.
That makes a lot os sense
So GEQ fricked that old bastard, birthed Marika, got killed by Marika and was reborn as her daughter's daugher aka Melina?
>painting man is bald monk statue man
Maybe?
>painting man is elden John
Absolutely not, the ruins his statues are found in all predate the the erdtree and even the Nox, and while it is often found near Nox stuff the architecture is very different than that of the Nox. He's likely a man from a civilization even older than the Nox and the Nox just built their civilization around the ruins.
Elden John (or his culture at least) is absolutely related to the Shadowlands. Their architectural style is pretty clear on the gate of the ruined castle in the trailer. Their culture has definitly been present in the Shadowlands.
Miyazaki also states in the Famitsu interview that the culture of the Shadowlands predate the Erdtree
>In fact, the shadow lands are where Marika became a god and where the Erdtree was born. Of course there was a culture there before the Erdtree, and that lion dance comes from this culture.
Do you know how much of a trip it has been to be alive for the last several years of video games discourse as someone named John who can feel like a bit of a solipsist sometimes? Also nice 117.
That's not the correct architecture style Elden John ruins Cylcopean Early Greek architecture the buildings in that screenshot are way way more modern than what we see in Mohgwyn and Uhl
I always figured the old greek-looking ruins were probably stuff the Numen built (conjecture based on the fact that all known Numen had Greek names, Marika Tiche Alecto), and if that guy whose statue you see in the ruins is Numen, then that lines up. But everybody always says they were built by those barbarian ghost dudes, not the numen.
I've never heard someone claim the Ancestral Followers built the Greek stuff they're clearly just squatters
They don't even have metalworking or written language according to spirit ash item descriptions
Beardyman is way to old to be inspired by Marika's father. That seems like a big stretch.
that hood...that hair...n-no...it can't be...
>marika can't have had dark hair because...
wait why can't marika have dark hair again?
In ER hair color can actually change based on magic shenanigans, the fire monk's hair turns red after turning to worship of the fell god.
But the point is that people say it's Marika because the Headwear resembles Marika's hair but the resemblance is broken when you realize it's just her clothes. Sure you could invent a reason for why her hair changed color between that painting in the present but at that point you could just as easily invent a reason how any other character in the present could be the lady in the painting after some dramatic change in appearance.
we see marika's hair shift when she transmogrifies into radagon. I think it's plausible that her hair color changed when she became a vessel for the elden beast. the numen default has dark hair as well. plus she's known to use illusions.
I just hope there's more Melina content in it
>got raped by maliketh
>we raped maliketh
>people think she's going to be a threat if she ever even appears
I don't get it, especially since The Lord Of Frenzy is hosting an entire outer god, practically unstoppable
>people think she's going to be a threat
I just want her to forgive us
Forgive you for frenzying the world? Or did you try to avoid sacrificing her and not frenzying the world by golden needling yourself
>Forgive you for frenzying the world?
No
>Or did you try to avoid sacrificing her and not frenzying the world by golden needling yourself
Yes, using the needle of the character the DLC is set around
>I took your life purpose away Melina do you love me?"
anon......
But i saved her...
>whole game is her talking about how she doesn't want to just follow the path other people set for her and how she is choosing to burn herself and that it's her own decision based on her own motivations
>literally force her to follow your own path and take away the only freedom she ever had
I expect a secret easter egg in the DLC for people who "saved" her where you find her hanging from the ceiling in a small shack.
She's a woman, she doesn't know what she really wants
Shes at the start of the trailer
?
They show her shoes at the start
Isn't that the Tarnished wearing the noble set from later in the trailer doing the pink butterfly magic?
So how do fromsoft dlc usually work? My character is just sitting at the beginning of new game plus, will I have to beat the game again? Will the dlc content be extra hard for me if I just go straight to it at the beginning of new game plus?
There's a entrance for DLC, and this one will probably be Miquella's hand
>will I have to beat the game again?
Just fight Mohg
>Will the dlc content be extra hard for me if I just go straight to it at the beginning of new game plus?
No, they're doing the same as Sekiro
You also need to kill radahn as well, for some reason, can't comprehend why the frick
Predicting story stuff for a From DLC is so pointless. Majority of the revealed characters will be completely original with no relation to already established characters like all the DS3 DLCs
>Majority of the revealed characters will be completely original with no relation to already established characters
Already proved wrong lol
Messmer is Marikas unwanted child.
He almost became the next Lord but Marika realized that he´d become to powerfull.
In the DLC Miquella will guide us to help him to stop his son/half/brother whatever. The moment we stop Messmer, Miquella will take his Rune and become the ultimate Boss of the DLC fricking off to Place we didn´t seen yet and it will be the most fricked up legacy dungeon we´ve seen yet.
You heard it here first, b***h.
>Messmer is Marikas unwanted child.
No this line clearly refers to the soulless demigods which reside in the walking mausoleums there is no ambiguity
>The mausoleum prowls. Cradling the soulless demigod
>O Marika, Queen Eternal. He is your unwanted child.
Unless you are arguing he is one of the mausoleum demigods and that the boss fight isn't his real body or something and is a projection like Melina & Torrent.
at the beginning of the trailer when the kaiden whatever is riding towards the tree, u can see a lot of trees that look like deathroot and what looks like a swamp of deathblight.
guess there will be content about the Prince of Death
Ds2gays will look at this and think "omg bonefist mod :*~~)"
DS2 sucked but bonefist was cool
im glad they re added martial arts on the DLC
looks like its borrowing from sekiros senpou style moves and not bonefist tbh, and it looked like bloodbornes rakuyo was in the trailer too
>looks like its borrowing from sekiros senpou style
Yeah my brother told me. I'm just glad they added a punch harder weapon
>blue dancer charm
>The dancer in blue represents a fairy, who in legend bestowed a flowing sword upon a blind swordsman. Blade in hand, the
swordsman sealed away an ancient god — a god that was Rot itself.
but.....shes red.
My moneys on tanith have some relation to that pic, she used to be a dancer and last we saw her unfinished quest she was eating the God killing snake + rykard
Out of context it just looks like Japanese Samurai fighting a crazy Hindu lady.
>that moaning mage on Weeping Peninsula
Who cares? 4months is way to long and i don't wanna ruin my fun by over expectation
Elden Ring
This is why I'm looking forward to the DLC. I hope it's dense like a King's Field game.
I'm thinking people are gonna be surprised when the Land of Shadows begins to feel more like a standard Dark Souls level again.
Sounds good
It honestly makes way too much sense especially with his comment about how it's going to be around the size of Limgrave.
Every DS game literally fits inside Limgrave. So if they make it more dense, more seamless in its legacy/field design, and more vertical then I could see it being one of the best areas Fromsoft has ever made.
The shot of the castle gave me huge sens fortress thoughts, it'll obviously be a legacy dungeon probably the most in depth one in the dlc
>THIS is what gets to frick the muscle tomboy 24/7
ITS NOT FAIR ITS NOT FAIR
>my wife Melina is not in
There's your prediction
But apparently you can punch and kick things so there's that
You will NEVER breed miquella's bussy and he won't even show up
I wanted to explore the moon
That's much more boring than what we got. What kind of content would even be on the moon anyways?
I don't know, could be the hub or something
I just wanted to explore the moon, and maybe talk to my wife
>crashed spaceship in the top right
I have literally never found this guy
And forgot to look up where he is on my second PT
He's yelling somewhere in the mistwoods, south of the church where you find the buff flask, I think. He's always yelling about needing someone to help hin out.
The problem with Limgrave wasn't the size, is that there fricking nothinh in it.
Will we finally receive our kiss goodbye from the rightful ruler of Limgrave?
You guys won't believe me but, there is going to be a cute barefoot girl in it
boy
time you meet your future spouse is when you're trying to murder her mentally disabled mother
Actually i met her on the church and she gave me 3 dogs
neat
>Malenia wait! I'm not here to fight you! I know where your brother Miquella is, he was captured by your half brother Mohg and imprisoned in the Land of Shadows. Not all is lost, however! I have already defeated Mohg and secured a route to Miquella's location, and I can lead you there! With the two of us working together I'm sure we can rescue him and bring him back to this plane safe and sound. If you're concerned about the Scarlet Rot afflicting you, we can make a quick stop at Farum Azula along the way - I have a hallowed gold needle that can cure you instantly! Would you like to go and meet him now?
Millicent
Millicent is Malenia
>Go into DLC early
>Find Miquella
>You get to summon Malenia or Millicent to kill Mohg
Would be too kino for this world. Won't ever happen though.
and he was a good friend
>eight new weapon types
I hope sabers are one of them.
>colossal katanas
i wonder wtf is this
>8 new weapon types
This homie Miyazaki is lying, the map will be way bigger than limgrave
Nodachi? Odachi? There's a famous example of one that's more than 4 meters long I think.
>Adding entire new weapon types in a DLC
Outside of Bloodborne, they've never really done this before, have they? I guess there are sometimes weapons with unique movesets, like bone fist, but it's still not an entirely new weapon class.
They've sort of done it before but technically not really either. Crow Quills from 3 for example. It's a unique paired claw+thrusting sword and has a fully unique dual moveset, weapon art, running attacks, and whatnot. The normal R1 attacks are still the basic thrusting sword pokes however. Valorheart (the sword+shield) is similar with it's fully unique dual attack string but it's a normal sword when not using it's dual moveset. So they've added a lot of really unique weapons with unique attack strings, heavy attacks, and all that but not fully new categories. Friede's dual scythe has a different normal attack string from other scythes I think but it's still classified as a reaper I think.
>kung fu is a new weapon category
holy based. would it be dexish I suppose? I wanna play a FTH monk and kick people
Think Odachi from Nioh or that dumb thing from Sir Alonne in DS2.
Either an nodachi or the washing pole from dark souls.
What are the hints dropped in Elden Ring for FS's next game? They always do this shit right
Unless there's an out of place NPC in the DLC there isn't any hint so far
The ships in the distance
next soulsborne game be on the pirate age, with fishman pirates and sawfish swords and all that cool stuff, and mid way through the game you stumble into a lost aztec kingdom in the jungle, where they do cosmic ritual sacrifices to eldrich gods
That sounds like fun. Fight Quetzalcoatl or something at the end of what was ostensibly Pirate Souls
There were only a couple of NPCs shown in the trailer, the golden armour with the babyface helm and that guy with the pot in the not-havel thiccboi set. Neither seem like a next game clue to me. Perhaps we'll find that one of the new voices in the trailer belongs to our out-of-world NPC
It's going to be a Sekiro/Bloodborne like game again

How likely is it that we see Godwyn is his former glory?
I think we might partially heal and fight him
In a lot of ways i suspect Godwyn and Messmer are twins, one wanted and the other unwanted. They're very similar yet distinct, with Godwyn being affiliated with dragons and Messmer with the serpent. Also Messmer is a translation of the word knifemaker, so wouldn't it be possible that Messmer worked alongside Ranni to kill Godwyn out of pure envy?
But Messmer has Radagon's red hair while Godwyn was the son of Godfrey
Maybe Marika just held her pussy open while they both stood above her and ookie cookied their loads inside.
Marika is Radagon so i wouldn't outrule the possibility.
Should i fight Rennala before or after meeting Ranni on her castle thing? I already met her on the church and she gave me 3 dogs
You can fight Rennala before or after you meet Ranni, it doesn't really matter.
But does it change dialogue? What is the canon way to do it?
Nothing changes. There's no "correct" way to do it, but you have to kill Rennala if you're doing Ranni's questline to open the chest in her boss room.
I think Miquella will just turn evil if you killed Malenia
This is right at the root of the big tree, I think it is from the post-boss-fight cinematic. Whatever the final fight is will end in Miquella being freed to his normal form to gesture weirdly and then say something ominous in voice over a black screen no doubt.
You're saying that about devs who made AC6 which had an ending for every story path and character where the fates of characters were switched around so wildly a literal nobody became the ultimate boss.
This gay has the same closed eye thing Melina and Ranni have
and the antichrist as well, that guy also does this
I don't think the closed eye thing has ever been explained. it's probably going to be explained now. if not we will literally never know.
>Miyazaki said he isn't sure they're done with the DLC either, they might do another one for Elden Ring in the future
I hope they do something REALLY freaky and send us to the moon or an underwater castle to fight ayys or fish people
God i really want to go to the moon
Imagine, stabbing the other cosmic horror outer gods to death with wife Ranni or any new Melina content
I hope that the DLC sells ten billion copies, I really want a DLC centered around Melina , the Gloam eyed queen and the slain demigods
he said they have no plans for more DLC or ER2, so you are going to be waiting years again at best and odds are they are done with it. Tencent will do their Elden Ring Gacha to milk the game for money
That is what he always says. Unless From state they explicitly have plans for DLC then you aren't going to get anything more
Messmer is Judas to Godwyn's Jesus
calling it now
>Godwyn was the firstborn of Marika and Godfrey
>Messmer is the firstborn of Marika and Radagon self fricking (starts with M)
Ranni is Judas
Because she schemed to kill Godwyn?
Still that doesnt sound right
Im hoping for better exploration. Empty fields havent been impressive since 1997 when OOT came out.
I just want covenants/more incentive for invading.
A covenant would be nice.
It might get tied to a great rune, kind of like how Mohg's rune lets you buff enemies when you invade.
I've been saying this since ER came out, but the lack of options for covenants was disappointing. They had better expand the multiplayer with chaotic factions like Mound Makers who can attack any other phantoms or territory defense like Watchdogs. Elden Ring is perfect for this.
messmer = smoldering butterfly
>Godwyn is Godfrey's oldest, perfect in every way
>Mohg and Margott are the cursed twins
>Messmer is Radagon's oldest, imperfect in every way
>Miquella and Malenia are the cursed twins
I love how everyone jumped ship on Melina = Smolderinf butterfly when the trailer dropped.
b***h is a walking mystery, I have no idea where they were going with her
It's especially weird since marketing material had a lot of her
I wonder how much content was cut, and if it was i hope it gets re-added back
Melinagays are dead in the water and they know it. I'm on the Melina is the gloam eyed queen's reincarnation train.
I hope dlc has more cruel waifus (yes I'm using the word incorrectly) for hopeless tarnished to pine over fruitlessly
Rannigays have it so good
Honestly what I'm most hyped for is the fist weapon. Love punching till I win.
After elden ring we wait for spellbound
>magicshit
Nah
>war of the giants
>Godfrey was still around and Radagon might not have even existed
Maybe Messmer is actually part giant.
All the giants are impaled too
No one had herd of Radagon before the Liurnian war and the only thing besides him with Red hair are the giants themselves. Also Rad hates his hair for some reason. Did he really hate it over a giant curse or was it because of Messmer. Perhaps Rad didn't pass Red hair to him but instead got it from Messmer.
Good one
>No one had herd of Radagon before the Liurnian war
I never got this one, Radagon just showed up out of thin air with a huge army and fricked Rennala after fighting against her for a while?
That seems to be his earliest appearance, in the very broad and vague timeline we have. He seemingly wasn't there during the period when godfrey and his army were conquering the lands in the name of the erdtree and marika, only a while after. And then he shows up, already a champion of the golden army. Who knows
Radagon's earliest appearance is in the war with the Giants.
That's where he distinguished himself... After just showing up out of nowhere.
Then he was put in charge of the armies in the war against Liurnia because Horah was axed.
It's not clear if he was outright created by the GW or born and iirc it's implied he wasn't always a part of Marika.
>and iirc it's implied he wasn't always a part of Marika
Yes, the GW made him to contain Marika
>god made a chad to frick all the women into submission
You know, this Greater Will guy really doesn't sound that bad.
But i really want doll pussy
Elden Ring is a cautionary tale about how women in power frick everything up and all you need to do to stop being maidenless is to go out and touch grace
Does Miquella count as a woman?
thats marika
I don't think this was implied. Of all the vague statements in the game, a lot of people are extremely confident of that one vague sentence among marika's words. I never bought into the idea that radagon was actually a whole entire person born separately and somehow "fused" with marika forcefully for some mysterious reason. At best, I might be willing to believe that the greater will took a strongly conflicting facet or aspect of marika's inner self and cultivated its growth into a whole other person. I could imagine that inner conflict and turmoil within an actual god could manifest in a way that mortals can't wrap their heads around. But the theory that this unique and complex being, or beings, was just two people forced into one body seems so overly simple that it doesn't make sense to hide it as this great and terrible vital secret. A secret from players, and also within the world of the game.
>the greater will took a strongly conflicting facet or aspect of marika's inner self and cultivated its growth into a whole other person. I could imagine that inner conflict and turmoil within an actual god could manifest in a way that mortals can't wrap their heads around
This is literally what happened
GW created Radagon out of Marika to keep her in line since he knew she wanted to frick shit up
>my game for normies can't possibly have a simple and generic explanation for an event!
>giants curse
Don’t the phrase “curse of their kind” just imply that giants and people related to them would all have red hair. Not that the giants literally cursed the dude with hair magic or whatever
>spellbound
are you morons really this gullible?
People said the same thing about ER's leaks. Who knows?
>Who knows?
Anyone with eyes can tell the image is AI generated, but I provided the AI image detector output for those who can't see the obvious.
The details on the clothes are completely random and nonsensical but they've tried to hide this by putting some moronic grainy filter over the image. Also just look at the left hand.
Elden ring leaks showed coherent concept art with original character designs not a random promo image render of a dude standing which anyone can make in 1 click nowadays.
oh man this jpg, i remember it being one of the first things that leaked from elden ring, good times! good times...
If you're gonna insult me then do it directly, mayo fingers.
Pure and radiant, he wields love to shrive clean the hearts of men.
I love it when striaght conservative societies try to approach homoeroticism. It's a breath a fresh air compared to how in your face it has become in western society.
>There is nothing more terrifying
More like the hot guy version of Rykard
>What level do you think the DLC be fit for? I
Any level, the DLC will have its own levelling up system
>Any level, the DLC will have its own levelling up system
Is that confirmed? That would be nice.
Yes, it's the same as Sekiro. The bosses drops the level up items
Do we know how would something like that work with items or spells that have stat requirements? Can I still use a Hammer that requires 40 STR or a spell that requires 50 INT right away or will it effectively make you a level 10 character and you'll have to use more "starter" weapons/spells?
the enemies will adapt to your level
is he the edgy version of Godfrey and Serosh?
He more seems like an inversion of Godwyn if anything.
What level do you think the DLC be fit for? I finished the game and my character is sitting at 140 after all the bosses and I wonder if that would be overleveled for the DLC and I should make a new character.
>Miquella boss fight
>3rd phase starts
>He summons Malenia
How hard will Ganker get filtered?
>accidentally backstabbed him when I was confused on how to bring him to the throne room
>instant death
oopsie
>finish game
>start NG+
>burn out and stop a bit after limgrave
surely the DLC entrance wont be Miquelussy at Mohg right? haha r-right?
>not a time travel scenario like with Dark Souls' DLCs, takes place during the same timeframe as the base game
>new region larger than Limgrave complete with legacy dungeons, dungeons and some things in-between due to wanting a more seamless richer and more dense level design that blurs the lines between open world and legacy dungeon
>new region is called Land of Shadow and you can reach it via the cacoon after beating Mohg and Radahn
>the DLC has an ending, but it's not a credits roll type of ending and it doesn't alter the actual ending-endings in the base game
>eight new weapon types with a variety of options for each
>difficulty is around that of end game Elden Ring
>no more additional content planned after this
>new progression system unique to the expansion region
>Miyazaki had a moment of reflection realising how much he likes creating poison swamps when designing the one for the new region
Wonder what are my wife thoughts on this new homosexual. Does she wants me to genocide his ass too?
cringe, but my dick hard now, shit!
Is Loretta's War Sickle any good?
Meh, just use the guardian swordspear instead
Think I might go with banished knight's halberd.
So what's up with the impaled people screaming at night in the base game's map? So it's connected with that Mesmer character right?
Where does this happen?
not him but everywhere
the crucified people keep screaming
?si=L6P88JHVHiI6sp87
What is our cheese strategy for Snakebro anons?
None, you dodge his attacks and bonk him on the head, just as god intended.
Why can't I bonk him with cheese how I intended?
Because that'd be gay and I raised you better.
Truth is... I kinda suck at these games but love playing them.
It's alright, keep being yourself.
Daily reminder that Miyazaki is the type to underpromise and overdeliver.
If you recall, he once described Elden Ring prior to release as "about the size of Dark Souls 3" when it turned out to be about 3x the content.
Honestly thought what he said was clever word play. Sure the surface might be the size of limgrave, but what about underneath it?
Miyazaki is my Soulsbourne waifu
Better quality. I want to be Miyazaki's Elden Lord
miquella beguiled Marika into destroying the elden ring
proof?
None. The only thing I'll say is that the first line of the dlc seems to imply miquella is dangerous. I think he was locked away.
He's dangerous for my dick.
i mean he is definitely up to something, doubt he is an angel, wish that we could fight him, godwyn even
The only thing I am sure of is that messmer is not the final boss. All of their previous dlc featured a boss that wasn't really the final boss on all the marketing (except maybe ariandel but that was because the dlc was super short)
I really liked the Orphan of Kos. I hope it's like that. Elden Beast sucked ass.
Either it'll be a character we've never seen before or it will be Godwyn. I doubt we fight Miquella, unles Messmer is some part of Miquella or whatever
you forgot about John Darksoul, the final boss of dark souls in the Ashes of Ariandel trailer.
>initially friendly NPC who transports you to the DLC becomes the final boss
Miquella final boss confirmed
K I N O
I
N

There’s no way we don’t fight Miquella or Godwyn
miquella = st. trina
of course he is dangerous, he is the bill cosby of the lands between

>loregays actually think miyazaki has answers to their questions
the guy will give only ever give you more questions.
Radagon is a mimic tear
>This moronic theory again
The original mimic tear questline is the exact same story as Marika and Radagon
A DLC is too little for such a lion of a man. He'll be the PC of ER2.
Wish the game did more with Melina. How can the cutest FS maiden be the one with less content
Ranni's voice is superior though
Basically if the Erdtree emits light in all directions the only way it can have a shadow is directly underneath it like a shade tree while the sun is at its zenith. I think the Shadow Land is a mirrored inverted land below the Lands Between where the roots of the Erdtree spread and from that perspective point up like a tree. Trees store their starch in the roots and there's an amber-like substance leaking from the "tree" in the shadow land. The common consensus with Miquella was that he was trying a bunch of different unrelated things to save his sister and Godfrey, but my immediate thought with the trailer was the concept of the Eclipse when it showed the two "trees" and the knights with the black armor with gold trim. I think everything he was doing from St. Trina moonlighting to the Eclipse to the Haligtree was all for penetrating into the Shadow Lands and his whole scheme is the expansion. So I think the roots strangling the Erdtree aren't death roots like we thought from the promo image, but the roots of the Haligtree that Miquella used to get in.
that cant be hailgtree, too far away, thats darkroot from godwyn
>too far away
That's relative. Tree roots can intermingle from well beyond their crown widths. The scale of both trees are massive. For all we know their relative distance could be close enough for their roots to intermingle. And given the state of the Haligtree I can believe the roots would look fricked up below the "ground". This thing used to have two leading stems and one of them failed. It wasn't a properly pruned or cared for tree. Like it was abandoned.
Okay I am going to shill the only guy who actually got it right and continues to get it right. You know jack shit, this guy is actually legit.
Why do you think Marika became a god here?
It is said to be the land that "goddess Marika" first stepped. Maybe it is where she is born or arrived in the Land's Between, but some Anon are interpreting that line to mean the place where she became a goddess.
Good night ERbros
I hope that you can wear the elden ring in the dlc. No, I don't care about whether the lore allows it or not.
Elden Ring is a dystopian story (like all Souls games)
Miquella travels back in time to kill John Connor.
We help this femboyterminator reach his true power level, looksmaxx and take the red pill before killing his own mother and restarting the cycle.
Radagon is the Champion from castle Morne, and the fallen nation from the Grafted blade greatsword is Eochiad which is where Radagon is from and is inhabited by human sized descendants/relatives of giants.
The reason why he appears out of nowhere randomly during liurnia war is because he was a commoner and simple craftsman (golden needle) who is recruited into the golden order at a high rank after leading the morne revolution which happens after Godfrey defeats the storm lord which is right in time for Liurnia war.
Marika Greco-Roman
Godfrey Norse
Radagon Irish Celtic
>Radagon Irish Celtic
Bingo, and guess where the word Eochiad comes from
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eochaid
>Radagon Irish Celtic
that explains the red hair
That's kino when you put it like that.
I love how discussing Elden Ring lore is like theologians analyzing the bible
>Kenneth Haight
Has got to be the most classically white man ever.
>concept art is handsome
>in game version is bloated and hideous
He could have been more than a means to an extra golden seed... But they just couldn't actualize the concept art.
I didn't even realize he had facial hair on his 3D model, it's crazy how different he looks.
>Choses to share leadership with a black woman
YAAAAS KWEEN! Why is Kenneth such a woke simp?
One must concede a bit of power for the untamed warrior woman pussy, such is life.
He's looking for a ruler of the proper lineage, and you can't get more proper than the daughter of the first goddamned Elden Lord.
>Proper lineage
>Adopted brown woman
Ok simp.
It would surprise you that no one within Elden Ring gives a single SHIT about a character's skin tone and neither should you.
>Looking for proper lineage
>Not caring about race and culture mixing
Good thing royalty and reality never worked like that, leftist simp. At least try and be consistent. You just want to admit this was likely forced ESG onto Fromsoft's part.
Even Nepheli's cringe dialogue at the Albinauric village reeks of 'muh stronk woman' and SJW shit.
You're talking to a pro-monarchist you pleb, i'm the furthest removed from leftism you can imagine aside from literal nazis. You claim things about real life politics being inserted into a video game even though you're literally the one unable to differentiate between the world of Elden Ring and ours.
>You're talking to a pro-monarchist
If Nepheli was a girlboss, she'd deliver a verbal takedown EPIC style when Gideon disowns her instead of moping around and desperately trying to deny that he only ever saw her as a pawn on his chessboard.
>the woman you can drug and turn into a mindless wienersock was totally shoved in to satisfy ESG demands bros
have a nice day.
Well, the other candidates are fricking hollows or bandits. Meanwhile Nepheli traces her lineage back to Hoarah Loux, the first Elden Lord.
That would be cool and all but why is she human-sized and doesn't look half-white if Godfey busted a fat nut in a brown woman assuming she is not adopted?
You're trying way too hard
Who the frick is drawing nepheli holding gideon like that, she's his adopted daughter
I wonder if Messmer has fire magic because he has the curse of the giants, passed to him from Radagon. I wonder if Marika will be revealed to have deliberately pushed the curse onto Messmer to free hersef/Radagon from it, and then stuck him in her pocket dimension prison so he didn't burn shit down
I think the reason why Messmer got banished was because he committed the cardinal sin of burning the erd tree while also probably being involved with Godwyn's murder.
>Those stripped of the grace of gold will all meet death in Messmer’s flame
He's literally Satan
Speaking of which, while the base game was heavy on gnostic and pagan (celtic and norse) themes, there seems to be heavy emphasis on christian themes this time around.
Miquella is described as radiant, the most terrifying and perfect. Something that could be attributed to Lucifer, the morning star.
Then you have Messmer, who has taken the likeness of the serpent. Colored red, has the powers of brimstone, and seems to possess all the things considered blasphemous and heretical by the Golden Order, aka the enemy, the Shaitan, or Satan. The fact that he holds a Pitchfork or Trident is just a bonus, otherwise you could also attribute it to the Spear of Longinus.
Which is why i think Messmer is a distraction from the fact that Miquella will probably be the final boss of the DLC
Definitely. You don't open the trailer with a guy saying how terrifying Miquella is and just disregard that. Messmer is at best maybe a midway boss like other DLC posterguys like Artorias, Demon Princes and Lady Maria.
Hmm so we will find out Messmer did nothing wrong and is trying to save the world from Miquella
I think Messmer will be revealed to be a fabrication of Miquella when we beat him and that is the point where we'll begin to understand his true motivations for leading us into the Shadow lands
Messmer will definitely be an alter ego of Miquella. The fact that he was never mentioned anywhere before is a red flag. The smouldering butterfly is probably a red herring. If he was an Empyrean, either Ranni or Malenia would have suggested his existence. The thrones at Leyndell also don't match up.
I can't decide if this take is just cope because Messmer would feel pretty lame and shoehorned in if he doesn't end up being part of Miquella's keikaku, or if that is actually From's intention
Because him being Marika's super secret bastard that everyone memoryholed or never knew about is even gayer and Gael tier of literal who shoehorned in. I'd rather him be part of Miquella's big master plan to deceive everyone one final time.
Gael is cool because he's a literally who. He'd be lame if he was the Nameless King or some other secret secret secret child of Gwyn, the way that Messmer seems to be but hopefully isn't because of Miquella shenanigans.
Messmer is to Malenia what Saint Trina is to Miquella is to Marika is to Radagon. Miyazaki just visited this revelation to me in a vision.
There are heavy Christian themes in the base game, Leyndell is clearly meant to evoke Constantinople and the practices of orthodox Christianity. Where do you think the finger imagery is from?
The artists are quick this time around
He's yaoibait, of course them motherfrickers went into it real fricking quick.
>yaoibait
holy shit you're right, he literally has yaoi proportions
>playing with a bud, having a good time making your way through Leyndell, finally decide to make your way to Goldfrey
>some twink homosexual with a jar cannon hides until you're climbing the roots to the boss arena
>blows you off the tree branch to your death
This is why red man IS bad and ultimately a detriment to the player's experience. Why not restrict PvP to the coliseum or whatever?
you'd have cried like a b***h over scraping spear antics
what you just described sounds funny
Elden Ring DLC patch note 1
- removed parry
- removed iframes
- removed rolling
- removed bosses pivoting
- made attack times vvary even more
- reduced boss and playrr hp by 50%
to limgrave
>for no reason
What? Are you moronic?
I don't get any of the lore. I can read item text but I can connect any of it together. Cryptic npc dialogue usually goes in one ear out the other.
character dialogue is honestly the least important thing lore wise compared to your own intuition of environmental storytelling and just general aesthetic deciphering
I predict it will be boring shit like Elden Ring.
Shouldn't you be dilating by now?
What are the odds they'll add DLSS 3 with the DLC patch? It's kinda weird that they added raytracing without DLSS since these two usually go together.
Btw, does anyone even notice what ray tracing does in ER? They might as well not even bothered because I can't see the difference.
>Want to make blood build to fit into the motifs of the DLC
>forgot that I didn't explore the sewers of the capital or some other shit.
Man, I am actually mad. Guess I will do it during my NG run
the sewers are still accessible after-ash
but yeah some things are really bad like I missed the magic scorpion on my magic character
do i start a new game or continue from my finished one for the dlc
Both, with different thematic builds.
fug
whats a fun build? I went faith dragon lightning moron last time
Madness for one, Sleep (and Bewitching Branches) for the other.
Str/FTH build
Bolt of Gransax is a quality weapon.
yes
Can't decide if I want to start a new character now or wait. On one hand DD2 comes out next month, but on the other if I start too late I probably won't make it to Mohg in time.
I just opened save editor and leveled my character down like 80 levels. I know the DLC is like 4 months away but I don't think I have the dedication to replay the game again from scratch since I enjoy having all my gear with me.
Can't that get you banned from online?
The save editor does say it's risky to use online but I suppose it only exposes you if you play coop, pvp or invade. Shouldn't be a problem if you just want to see people's messages and bloodstains.
Back when I did Pvp a lot I'd just turn my game offline, make the changes and then turn it back online. Never got banned
Decent armor sets
Who is best girl?
The cute one who bows and heals you at radahns festival
>but she's seluvis's puppet fleshlight
SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP THE POTION DOESNT KILL ONLY CONTROLS I CAN SAVE HER SOMEH8OW
snek
Melinabros... are still allowed to believe? To hope?
I have doubts that even From remember her character existing lmao.
668005198
you tried derailing before with this exact line frick off moron
Glad someone else out there knows Fromsoft stories suck. They took whatever GRRM wrote, then just wrecked it and made everyone dead and shit JUTS LIKE MUH DARK SOULS
>Fromsoft stories suck
It's really just souls. Look at AC, most of those stories are basic, but fairly well done and comprehensible. KF/ST is also much better than souls. The moronation of Miyazaki's bullshit "Oh yeah let's just make a story with deliberate plot holes because it's mysterious and sheeeit" is the main problem.
I wonder if Miyazaki is talking about ALL of limgrave. The map even considers weeping peninsula as part of limgrave. Maybe it's just the upper part.
Weeping Peninsula is obviously part of Limgrave.
I always 100% considered part of limgrave, the "big zones" are even color coded in the map
>green
llimgrave
>red
caelid
>has a big BLUE lake
liurnia
>yellow
altus
>white
mountaintop
Im more curious if he considers the underground part of it as well, since that would add Siofra river and Nokron to the size.
Probably not but I wouldn't be surprised if the Land of Shadows still had an underground area regardless
There's a glimpse of it shown in the trailer. In fact, it seems that the underground have multiple themes going for it like some kind of factory for the Jars, the ones with the lava and the cavern with the skeleton Radahn..
The lava bit was probably a side dungeon I bet, it had the look of one
He specifically talked about the surface area, so siofra and nokron don’t matter
The armor sets looked fantastic, especially the enemy knights and soldiers
shill thread
I might actually neck myself if Miquella replaces Melina while in DLC land.
Could be worse, she could be a boss you kill and nothing else
Miquella will suck your dick everytime you rest at a grace and there's nothing you can do about it.
I like to make themed builds and always start as a Wretch. Have to wait for some sort of weapon or magic info to know what to spec into so that's a bit sad for me.
Maybe crucible magic, magic fists and throwing daggers would be a cool combo.
AFAIK they didn't mention how many new ashes of war or weapons (not types) they added so I wonder how much variety we'll have.
i imagine each weapon type will probably have a default one (either dex or str oriented), ones with swapped or enhanced scaling, then maybe a somber unique one with elemental damage. the neglected weapon types in the base game had at least 4 weapons, so i expect the new ones will have somewhere around that number
4 for each sounds great. Wonder if the same thing applies to the new shield type. Maybe new weapons arts to go along with it.
From the way they talked about the DLC I feel as if they Dark Souls-ified Elden Ring.
And by that I mean they took what Elden Ring had and made 20-30 hour Dark Souls campaign out of it.
Should've been the way to go since the base game honestly, considering some wasted areas. It's nice that they're forgoing the size focus of the open world and instead going for the 'density' aspect this time.
>Melina's body was burned
>her closed left eye has what people thought was a bird's foot on it
>Messmer has his other eye closed too
>Messmer has flames with dark whisps eerily similar to Maliketh's frickery
>the snakes and even his helmet have "dragon" wings
>the tattoo on Melina's eye isn't a bird's bones but a reptile's
>both are children of Marika
>both are potentially related to the smouldering butterfly
ITS ALL COMING TOGETHER BROS
The endless cope lmao
I would laugh if Messmer was a twin to Melina tho
snake coming from between the legs shows the MELINA is just MESSMER WITH A DICK, BRO
Malenia is rot, and Miquella is unrottable
Melina is kindling, and Messmer is flame
why the FRICK was Godwyn not named with an M? bothers the hell out of me, throws whole pattern out of whack
Their names are mostly coded with the parent they had them with.
Radagon+Marika is all M children.
Radagon+Rennala is all R children.
Godfrey+Marika is one G, but the two omens are Ms.
Raises an interesting notion to me, that they were both Omens/failures due to a fault from Marikas side of their lineage.
Yeah which is why it bothers me. But I guess argument is that failures/omens got Ms and "true" intended line was supposed to be G
I think Godwyn is named Godwyn because he's next in line for Elden Lord, he would have succeeded Godfrey, probably with Ranni as his Godwife. The "Golden Lineage" was the line of succession, more or less.
Godfrey's real name isn't actually Godfrey, but for some reason either Marika or GRRM think that the Elden Lord should have a G- name.
I still have no frickig idea why Ranni's other eye was closed.
Childhood accident, we don't bring it up because she's insecure about it. Rykard never got to use a BB again after that at least.
who do you think was poisoning Leonard? Revenge.
>the sword/root thing that was in the old dude has the tips on fire and makes a pointy christmas tree shape
Well spotted I think you're right, that is definitely a branch of the Helphen or something. I wonder if Marika was originally a death priestess before she decided to take death into her own hands.
I just want his head to come off with the sword, stuck on its hilt as he uses it. thats all I want from this DLC
Anybody have a guess at what stats the new katana might need? I had a katana character I will probably bring back to mess around with it. It probably doesn't matter due to respeccing.
im going to guess since theyre frickoff big it'll be dex/str quality weapons
Melina and Messmer are actually kids Marika had with the Gloam Eyed Queen.
One acquired the GEQ's affinity for Destined Death.
The other inherited her rivalry with Marika that eventually boiled over into the flames of a traitor.
oh great three and a half months of endless fanfics again
get over it melinagays shes irrelevant
Marika ain't a Futa, though. Unless the Gloam eyed Kween is a drag artist, it still wouldn't add up. Someone needs to supply the seed in the thighs between.
Melina and Messmer being the children of Radagon and the GEQ could be a twist I could see. Messmer and Radagon have something going on, Messmer is called the Impaler and the spear he has looks suspiciously like the spear that a bunch of the giants are impaled on in the snowy spot. But it was meant to be Radagon who went fricking nuts and murdered most of the giants in that war, right? Perhaps Messmer is larping after daddy.
Alternatively he might be the child of Radagon and Marika, and Marika used him as a vessel to contain the Curse of the Giants that was put onto Radagon, and the flame he is using is in fact the Giant Fel Flame. It looks more like Destined Death though, not like Dragonfire or Fel Flame, at least to me
>yfw the crucible wings
I hope you can do some stupid shit by combining the crucible wing jump with the sekiro monk triple kicks
I know Miyazaki said there will be no new endings both from the base game and the DLC but did he mention whether or not the base game will have some changes at least, gameplay stuff all the way to extra dialogues with existing characters? I mean it's a big DLC that brings forth implications from story to gameplay in the overall game. It would be weird to just let the DLC as this one big bubble, separated from everything completely.
He didn't specify. It'd be weird if there wasn't an alternate beginning to the Malenia fight though
Wasn't his answer the opposite there, as in he said it won't make any changes to the base game but he didn't mention anything about the DLC not having its own ending?
He only mentioned there are no new endings in both the DLC and the base game.
Are you guys gonna gamble on bonus dialogue from Miquella or Malenia?
>bonus dialogue from Miquella
Miquella had no dialogue on the base game
Malenia, Melina or Gideon at least.
