Considering how long it takes them to release one DLC they have no hope of running a live service game. Genshin's mmo burnouts will 100% new regions in a week then spend the rest of their time shitting up threads complaining about lack of content. And hoyoverse is constantly releasing content.

I really doubt FromSoft themselves are developing the Gacha.
The Persona 5 gacha was developed by Black Wings Game Studio with P-Studio only providing assistance.

No matter what it is, Fromdrones will buy it. They'll buy it, they'll shill it, they'll make YouTube essays on how SO DEEP the lore is. They'll try to excuse microtransactions as part of "the storytelling". If the game runs like shit, they'll call it a metaphor. If the game shits on established lore, they'll call it "Marika's winds of change" or something equally cringeworthy. It'll be a massive success and will be hailed as the "first truly hardcore" mobile experience.

      You know I'm right.

I would do it with a different world tbh but keep the gameplay style of ER.
ER's world is too unpleasant to want to explore daily for years. You need some more cheerful areas for a daily long-term game tbh. And you definitely need cities and villages etc.

if real it's just going to give FromSoft a bad name, their games are already decisive enough.

Im just going to take this as the bait thread that it is and instead keep my hope in the basket that is Bloodborne getting a PC port still.

        >Tons of fools were buying weapons, armor, etc from third party sites so they could overpower the game
Surely you're rusing us. ER is already the easiest of these games by far.

There was/is a market for it yeah, but a small one. I imagine it's mostly console players, on PC you can just use a CE Table and launch ER offline, build your character, give yourself shit and unlock the full map. As long as you're not actively injecting shit while online you can build as many characters as you want. I built a few that way just for invasions and duels after my first vanilla playthrough.

We don't actually know if it is. The main article has absolutely zero sources of any kind. It seems like more of a prediction than anything, and this wouldn't be the first time their gaming division tried to make a gacha on a foreign property only to cancel it after slow development. Maybe it's because they have no experience making them but it is what it is, if it's anything similar it will never get made.

These games are popular and Genshin makes a lot of money. Hell, even Diablo Immortals makes a lot of money. You'd have to be in a Ganker bubble to not see this coming. Mobile revenue and recurring revenue from gacha mechanics are simply too big for companies to not do it.

Games don't cost hundreds of millions because of licensing fees lmao.
Big budget AAA $70 box games are dying. Its too risky to make something with no options for recurring revenue. The industry is moving towards two main pricing models: live service with gacha-like mechanics, or small budget <$30 indie stuff.

Take a look at steam's most played games and how they've trended over the years.

Just need a glance at the article to see instantly what it is:
first off, when a place is named you easly assume that the mention information was scooped somewhere there, in that case Hong Kong (central of western lies in the asian world),
secondly, it´s clear from the article that tencent want´s to make easy money since they are requesting the loicense, doing the first draft.
    and lastly:
The sources declined to be named as they were not permitted to speak to media.
just another chink trying to profilate himself as some important bigshot by giving some allegedly top secret infos while in reality, it´s probably not even real.
