>Elden Ring gacha game in the works
>based on the model of Genshin Impact
>Tencent has acquired 15% stake in Fromsoft
Will Tencent finally get their Genshin killer?

fromdrones deserve it. They buy the same game every couple of years.
the same fun game but better everytime*
>t. CoD and FIFA players
Considering how long it takes them to release one DLC they have no hope of running a live service game. Genshin's mmo burnouts will 100% new regions in a week then spend the rest of their time shitting up threads complaining about lack of content. And hoyoverse is constantly releasing content.
I really doubt FromSoft themselves are developing the Gacha.
The Persona 5 gacha was developed by Black Wings Game Studio with P-Studio only providing assistance.
The Tencent investment combined with FromSoft's massive hiring spree says otherwise.
>and hoyoverse is constantly releasing content.
*Mihoyo
Cognosphere (aka hoyoverse) is their Singapore publisher for global
The game studio and parent company are still called mihoyo
Tencent already cancelled their Nier Gacha couple months ago and based on the excerpt from Reuters, the leaker said the development on this went really slow.
Fake and everyone in this thread fell for it.
cope
>Reuters is le fake
Damn this homie called it
Pray point out where I am wrong.
The frick yo smoking silly boy?
Man,theys finna make it so I can play ER on my telley? Word.
if real it's just going to give FromSoft a bad name, their games are already decisive enough.
Im just going to take this as the bait thread that it is and instead keep my hope in the basket that is Bloodborne getting a PC port still.
There was/is a market for it yeah, but a small one. I imagine it's mostly console players, on PC you can just use a CE Table and launch ER offline, build your character, give yourself shit and unlock the full map. As long as you're not actively injecting shit while online you can build as many characters as you want. I built a few that way just for invasions and duels after my first vanilla playthrough.
>their games are already decisive enough.
Ganker isn't the real world.
In the real world souls games are not "decisive" at all.
>There was/is a market for it yeah
Directly show me anon, this sounds like bullshit.
>source: some guy said so
imagine being able to play elden ring on your phone and somehow thinking that’s a bad thing
>play elden ring on your phone
N08GA4
Its made for the chinese audience not for westerners
I would do it with a different world tbh but keep the gameplay style of ER.
ER's world is too unpleasant to want to explore daily for years. You need some more cheerful areas for a daily long-term game tbh. And you definitely need cities and villages etc.
C6 for my wife Ranni
Would be great if it's just Elden Ring with the gacha, it'll filter the casuals.
It would be the same thing as regular Elden Ring. Tons of fools were buying weapons, armor, etc from third party sites so they could overpower the game. A gacha just streamlines that aspect of the community.
>Tons of fools were buying weapons, armor, etc from third party sites so they could overpower the game
Surely you're rusing us. ER is already the easiest of these games by far.

Total gachaBlack person death
Big budget AAA gaming is dead, only gachas can provide the income that investors expect. Hate to say it, but its the future business model for any new game.
TOTAL GACHABlack person DEATH IS MY RESPONSE AND WILL BE EVERYTIME
TOTAL GACHABlack person DEATH FROM THE INVESTORS TO THE PRODUCERS TO THE DEVOLOPERS TO THE CONSUMERS
I don't think Elden ring has enough girls to sustain a gacha game, this feels more like someone woke up and posted their Aprils fool joke earlier by accident.
Well, I would not mind getting swimsuit Marika, Bride veil Marika, loose bunnysuit Marika, but those days you can just brute force A.I until it produces exactly that.
They would make new characters.
They'll make an ugly purple skinned goblin trannoid character for westerners
Marika (Shabiri) Rodrika (Shabiri) Fia (Shabiri) Rya (Shabiri) Ranni (Shabiri) Nox Swordstress (Shabiri) Milicent (Shabiri) Malenia (Shabiri) Melina (Marika) Morgott Lanya (Shabiri) Sellen (Shabiri) Hyetta
This is going to make money hand over fist.
May Chaos take the World!
>Roll for 5* Marika
>It's got a 50% chance of being Radagon
How big would the melty be?
I can’t believe this is real.
We don't actually know if it is. The main article has absolutely zero sources of any kind. It seems like more of a prediction than anything, and this wouldn't be the first time their gaming division tried to make a gacha on a foreign property only to cancel it after slow development. Maybe it's because they have no experience making them but it is what it is, if it's anything similar it will never get made.
These games are popular and Genshin makes a lot of money. Hell, even Diablo Immortals makes a lot of money. You'd have to be in a Ganker bubble to not see this coming. Mobile revenue and recurring revenue from gacha mechanics are simply too big for companies to not do it.
>selling off elden shit to fund AC7
based from
From doesn't even own the Elden Ring IP.
Yes they do, dumbass. The copyright is jointly owned by them and Bandai.
And Fromsoft is owned by Kadokawa
>spend hundreds of millions of dollars to make a one-off game that Gankerirgin neets will pirate or wait to pick up on sale at steam for $20
vs.
>make a live service game where employed normies will spend hundreds to gamble the latest weapon or character every few months
hmm.... tough choice. i wonder which market companies would rather cater to
>Spend hundreds of millions
Elden Ring isn't Spiderman 2 moron, they don't need to pay licensing fees to Disney just to make their original concept.
Every single result on google says it cost at least 200 million.
Games don't cost hundreds of millions because of licensing fees lmao.
Big budget AAA $70 box games are dying. Its too risky to make something with no options for recurring revenue. The industry is moving towards two main pricing models: live service with gacha-like mechanics, or small budget <$30 indie stuff.
Take a look at steam's most played games and how they've trended over the years.
Then I'll take the latter. Shorter games, worse graphics at least means you'll be able to catch up on new releases and clear your backlog faster. Give me more Robocop: Rogue Citys and Star Ocean 2s, please.
Yeah I don't think its necessarily a bad thing. Hopefully it means more interesting small projects getting funded.
>ruin a perfectly good game with MMObloat, dumbing down of mechanics, and P2W garbage
There isn't a slur worthy of calling people this stuff. How did China and Korea get psyopped into thinking this is good game design? There's at least decent pushback in the West and Japan.
what are you talking about japan literally invented gacha
MapleStory put it into an actual game.
>West pushes back against Gacha....
They don't, they were pushing gambling in loot crate policies for years, especially EA with with Fifa and they remove content just to sell it back to you later in most games. You are just a White moron in the west who has been desensitized by the companies you grew up with so you notice it less with them.
Souls is dead.
Why yes I would roll for the half dragon foot bawd, how could you tell?
>gacha game
>no cute girls
It's doomed.
No matter what it is, Fromdrones will buy it. They'll buy it, they'll shill it, they'll make YouTube essays on how SO DEEP the lore is. They'll try to excuse microtransactions as part of "the storytelling". If the game runs like shit, they'll call it a metaphor. If the game shits on established lore, they'll call it "Marika's winds of change" or something equally cringeworthy. It'll be a massive success and will be hailed as the "first truly hardcore" mobile experience.
You know I'm right.
how many Fromdrones are in the room with us now, anon?
You don't remember 2011, do you?
I do and we were right
or 2013.
I main Domhnall of Zena. He's just, well, a peddler of sorts.
Remember:
Never blindly believe everything Ganker says.
There's news articles about it.
Nah, Fromsoftware cares about it's fans.
They wouldn't do this crap.
These things are very easy to fake. I could have made the OP image with some effort.
https://www.reuters.com/technology/tencent-working-mobile-version-hit-console-game-elden-ring-sources-say-2024-02-06/
Don't know if I trust this site.
But time will tell if u were right.
There's one article and every other article is just regurgitating what they're reporting even though they never gave any sources for their information.
The source is reuters. If they gave a source you'd just ask what's the source's source and so forth. Nothing short of Miyazaki himself saying it on video would convince you apparently.
>the source is the news agency and not the actual source telling this information
Yup, you're moronic. You don't know what a source is. They don't even call themselves the source of their info, dumbfrick. Read the article.
and there were news articles that said kojima shot the former japanese prime minister because Ganker meme'd about it
this happens all the time
>anon on Ganker says something
>reddit repeats it
>twitter repeats reddit
>journalist sees it on twitter and says he heard it from "anonymous sources"
>other news sites repeat what the first journalist said
and now it's the "truth"
I like how the old media that is Reuters are joining on the bandwagon of getting insider info on video game leaks.
>inb4 reuters fake news cause muh russia
Elden Ring has nothing to do with Russia.
Just need a glance at the article to see instantly what it is:
first off, when a place is named you easly assume that the mention information was scooped somewhere there, in that case Hong Kong (central of western lies in the asian world),
secondly, it´s clear from the article that tencent want´s to make easy money since they are requesting the loicense, doing the first draft.
and lastly:
The sources declined to be named as they were not permitted to speak to media.
just another chink trying to profilate himself as some important bigshot by giving some allegedly top secret infos while in reality, it´s probably not even real.
Sounds like a lot of cope to me. Yeah RT totally wants to ruin their own reputation because uhhh...
>ruining reputation after trying tell everybody that you kill your grandma if you refuse to take some magic gen mod marketed as the only life saving vaccine
uhhh... no way
Their reputation is already shit and before you start screaming about Russia again, I don't know what you're talking about.
what happened to that (fake) twitter post that contained 3 new images of the dlc
whoever made it only posted it like once
Link?
>DLC delayed because chink investors are forcing FROM to redirect resources to making a mobile game
how did the Nippon government allow this to happen?
fricking based
i love seeing westernoid fromdrones seething at Tencent and how they are going to run their dodging simulator kek
that's what they deserve for shitting on DS2 (the best souls game) for a decade
>DS2 (the best souls game)
This has to be bait.
Fromdrone detected
let me guess you think Redditborne is the peak of Fromsoftware huh? go have a nice day shitter
Sorry I don't like the game with the worst bosses (outside a few in the DLC), boring levels, ruined weapon movesets from ds1, worst hitboxes, ADP shit, butt-ugly graphics that have worse lightning than Source engine games released a decade prior, and charging $20 extra just to add soul memory (as well as gank squads for some reason) to fix one aspect of the game that should have not only been a free update, but shouldn't have needed a patch over a fricking year later in the first place.
