I did play the game as if it were dark souls 1. I never summoned the horse, never summoned players, never used spirits, never used magic, never did jumping attacks. I used 2h strength weapons. I beat all the bosses including the side content. What are you going to do about it?
Never summoning the horse is just wasting a lot of time walking.

There was one guy about a year back, maybe a bit longer, that created something incredibly good, but never gave out sliders. People tried to recreate it for ages but never managed to do so.
Even my best creation (pic) wasn't anywhere near as good as his. Some people later believed it was mods.

I'm just mad that they finally got magic right but it's in the most boring souls game. There are a few cool bosses but overall the game is just so forgettable and lacks the replay value of the old games.

The first part is wrong but the game is definitely not as replayable as the other ones. It's just way too big of a game to warrant replays, unlike dark souls which can be beaten fairly quickly.
He didnt say hard to replay but lacks, which is insanely insanely wrong. It has the most replay value out of them all with the amount of builds and areas to explore etc etc. The only issue is the game is so massive you have to really invest yourself to play again.
Söylent ring has no replayability because like ds3 it has reduced demon's sovls to a formula where the only thing new is to learn boss moves and move on to the next boss. It has no gimmick but copying shitty oblivion mechanics

What do you suppose is new and exciting about the 2nd or 3rd play-through of DS1 which doesn't apply to ER?
The open world was a mistake. ER has some of the best environments, builds and level design out of any Souls game - Stormveil Castle is one of the best locations in the series - but everything about it feels like such a chore. Having to trek through those massive, empty environments was tedious enough on the first playthrough and I don't even want to imagine what it's like on a replay.
It's not nearly as bad as you're thinking. Once you know where everything is, the world doesn't seem quite as large.

How is it wrong
because older players aren't filtered by the game. being 'filtered' is being unable to complete the game as it was released, and that isn't the case. older players just have their preferences, and perhaps don't want one of their favorite franchises to become BOTW-tier ubislop open world. that's pretty reasonable, don't you think? not only that but, older players can simultaneously dislike this new direction for the series while also wishing for an evolution in the older games' design philosophy that could ultimately result in a better quality experience.

How is that even up for discussion? We know Miquella was Torrents previous owner and he's identical in the DLC art as he's portrayed in the base game's official art here
Especially noticable is the garland-braid in his hair which matches 1:1 the Mohg art and is also the most noticable design feature of the Miquella knights armor variant in the Halligtree.
I don't think the art was ever meant to be ambiguous, Miquella is the only child character of any import in ER and the one riding Torrent in the dlc art is clearly a child.
