I thought that sounded like bullshit. Not that Elden Ring hasn't been wildly successful. but cracking top ten when you've got shit like Cawadoody, GTA, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, yearly sportsball, ect. to compete with seemed like a pretty tall order.
Its dollar sales. old games were cheaper so they have disadvantage. Nintendo doesn't count digital so that's off too.
Only COD and GTA would be a competitor in there.

That's true with NES and SNES, but I'm pretty sure every N64 game just had the single EEPROM chip for game data and another chip for battery saves.
