As pure faith you have access to the most elemental damages through incants with the exception of magic damage.
Most native faith scaling weapons will deal holy or fire damage, but not lightning(which is dex for some reason).
Oddly enough, you won't have that many holy damage dealing incants as pure faith, as more of those are int/fai including the weapon buff.
Holy Damage has a lot of way to be buffed but is actually the worst damage type in the game due to being resisted by most bosses, so you're better off using fire damage. That aside, Cipher Pata and the coded sword are early easily obtainable 100% holy damage faith scaling weapons that are very strong.
Fire does more damage on dry land, lightning has bonus in water and in rain. If you want to do Fai Lightning it has many very powerful incants but I suggest using a weapon buff build for that since Lighting ashes and many inherent lighting weapons are dex weapons. Yes, it's weird and moronic and no even the Dragoncult Seal is fai/dex.
Fai basically comes with elemental solutions and all your classic utility incants that int lacks.

everyone learns somewhere anon. hell a lot of the beginner builds even going back to demon souls was a shield and a poking weapon since you could guard and attack at the same time. eventually you learn other weapons attack timing and spacing so you forgo defense for more offense. afterall you wont need to guard or dodge if the enemy is dead.

There's a mod that unlocks all the graces at the start so you can just warp everywhere. Couldn't play the game without it.
That sounds incredibly strange, but might try.
It allows you to get your build together quickly so you can actually play through the game with your desired build. It's great.

everyone learns somewhere anon. hell a lot of the beginner builds even going back to demon souls was a shield and a poking weapon since you could guard and attack at the same time. eventually you learn other weapons attack timing and spacing so you forgo defense for more offense. afterall you wont need to guard or dodge if the enemy is dead.
Guard counters exists so you can use them.
So use them.
Turtle builds are more valid than ever precisely because of guard counters.
The point of shields is that you can move while blocking
