elder Gankerirgins, what was the one game for you in the last few years that made you binge like a teenager again? the one that had you stopping by the store to pick up mt dew and doritos?

>t anime Black person
there's no need to shill it, it's already done well enough as it is because it's like a solid game and stuff
How gay is this? I want to try it, but is it true that its going to force me to deal with this turd muncher frequently?
You're on reddit you stupid homosexual if you'd get off and actually spend some money on a good game instead of playing gamepass dogshit you'd binge it too
This year? Baldur's Gate 3, Pikmin 4, Tears of the Kingdom, Hi-Fi Rush, Dredge and LaD: Gaiden
There's a few games from last year and a few re-releases that had me by the nuts this year too. 2023 frickin' ruled.
Alright guys, I'm starving, I need you to recommend me a good crpg that is NOT one of the following:
>Baldur's Gate
>Divinity: Original Sin
>Pillars of Eternity
>Dragon Age
>Fallout
>Neverwinter
>Pathfinder
>Icewind Dale
>Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick
>Tyranny
>Disco Elysium
>Solasta
>KOTOR
>Mass Effect
Updated my journal
gothic
>NOT one of the following
Wizardry 8
SACRED
Divine Divinity
Jagged Alliance 3
Wasteland 3
BG3. I remember coming back from work and immediately booting up my PC because I just wanted to keep exploring. Didn't think I still had the passion in me, not even ER managed to reignite it to this extent.
Underrail.
Arx Fatalis
>Arx F
Should've posted a snek.
Shadow run games, don't skip the first.
Make a orc melee and just have fun beating people with swords and making them fall asleep and beat them more.

XCOM 2.
Blasphemous 2 and re4 remake
I can't stand chips or soda. That being said, I absolutely binged Fire Emblem Engage.
BG3 for mods, Bannerlord and Total War Warhammer 2 and 3. Something about these games just really make me go, just one more turn.
Surviving Mars
Cyberpunk 2077
Baldur's Gate 3
ECHO
Death Stranding
Pathfinder:Kingmaker
Noita
CONTROL
Jagged Alliance 3
Disco Elysium
>inb4 REEEEEEEEEEEEE shit taste
You can hate all you like but those games made me sit and play for hours like i have not in a long long time.
disco elysium caught me by surprise completely. that might be one of my favorite games of all time
It was super good. My mind was blown out when at the end of the first day in game i got to talk with Kim and he mentioned that i had a dynamic way with investigations and was running a lot(and i was running in game a ton!).
BG3 for sure but before that it was Hell Let Loose with its 1.0 release, that game made me feel like reliving my memories with the older Battlefield games, like just a insane amount of fun with multiplayer and something you don't get in the newer ones because nobody uses their mic to talk about strats. it felt like a actual multiplayer game that isnt filled with subhuman foreigners bots
Bomb Rush CyberFunk
Age of Empires 2
Warhammer Dawn of War 1
smt V
since it I've played several personas and smts since.
the best thing about bg3 is they totally mad 5e better
BG3 definitely. It was so engrossing I even forgot to eat some days.
Elden Ring and Armored Core 6.
the fact that they're both fromsoft games has nothing to do with my enthusiasm for them. I wasn't even hyped for ER.
Unironically Tears of the Kingdom. I plugged 150 hours which I haven’t done on a new game since…. Breath of the Wild at launch
Baldur's Gate 3 is one of the worst crpgs out there.
The story is so messy, the quests are such a slog and constantly breaking left and right. No other game made me keep so many saves in rotation.
It's the most nonsensical writing one could come up with, clearly all the writers worked in their own homes and never talked to each other.
Combat is fine, not that bad but nothing fantastic if you played DOS1,2
Also tencent owns 30% of larian
Cope, seethe, etc. Posting this on lockdown does nothing. BG3 is a sleeper hit and bigger than any AAA this year.
>sleeper hit
Huh? Most of us knew the game was going to be a masterpiece after playing the early access 3 years ago. Some people sleeping on the game does not make it a sleeper hit. It was an obvious hit to me.
It's a clunky crpg with shit combat and 100% rng deciding everything. The only reason you can call it an rpg is because you can customize characters you play as.
These threads read like an AVGN script where he tries to relate to actual gamers by talking about punching pillows and standing up while gaming because he's so in the zone, but everyone knows he's just playing a character and isn't even responsible for the gameplay used in the video. They're not even trying to sound organic.
It's a masterpiece. The west is saved.

Wizard of Legend.
There's something about trying different base spell sets and running infinite runs to see how far I get that's satisfying.
Valheim when it came out
conan exiles
That's the one.
I was on a bit of a lul from 2016ish to this year with games, but there's a handful of games that have really clicked with me and reminded me why I love gaming, in no particular order:
Elden Ring, Persona 5, Hitman World of Assassination, Baulders Gate 3, Dragonball Fighter Z, and Nier Automata/Nier Replicant remake. Even though it's not my favorite on the list, Persona 5 is probably the one that is closest to my heart as I started playing it right when I moved for the first time in my life, was far from home in a big city, and had just started my first big boy job. I had friends in the new city but my social life hadn't really blossomed yet so I spent a ton of time digging into that game and the themes really resonated with me at that time.
>Pick this up from the winter sale
>miss miss saving throw (sacred flame)
Maybe this games isn't for me
sacred flame is trash, change this cantrip
Sacred Flame actually has niche uses against targets with high AC but low DEX.
Why are you having only two companions in your party? You should be having like a full party of 4 and 1 at camp by this point of the game.
