Nah. It's not a literary masterpiece, and has that Oblivion goofyness, but it also has memorable quests and characters. Unique ways to complete quests, getting advice from guildmates, meeting the dude who trash talked you during the intro, the way you receive quests is relevant to the story, there's plenty of good ideas there.
Dark Brotherhood was fine when you were allowed to have fun with it. The whole "this dude is a traitor" thing was moronic, the fact that your character never questions odd orders and how Black Hand just kills everyone on a whim without any investigation or even attempt to consult with the listener or Night mother was dumb as hell.
Potentially good writer who deliberately chooses to write slop, because that's the path Bethesda chose in general, purposefully make slop for the masses to enjoy, even though they do have everything necessary to do something actually good and unique
