The great question... is it the same studio?
didn't they broke after masters of flop?
Is Re-Awakjening out yet or it's just an announcement?
amplitude getting desperate enough to tone down the space Black folk
Damn, the Black person update was that bad?
ENDLESS LEGEND 2 WHEN
did they remove we wuz faction?
they made it allegedly less shit
so is this game playable? I heard they broke it
The game was fine with community patches. The devs waited a year to push out bug fixes together with combat rebalance and Academy and Nakalim fixes. It's a given there are bugs in new update too, so you still want ESG or community fixes.
These are already updated

I honestly never found the game playable even before the DLCs.
Exploration gets wiener blocked, often isolating you from the entire galaxy.
Politics ends up as a shitty Militarist-Pacifist bipartisan state.
Tech is just a mess.
Imo the worst is the braindead ai, it literally does nothing the entire game
honestly, props to them for fixing their game, even though it was way overdue and no one cares anymore
Are they gonna unfrick the Supremacy and Penumbra DLCs too?
what was wrong with those?
Behemoths are moronic, have no soul whatsoever, are op for the player and useless for the AI. Hacking is halfassed like every other system, is a chore, and you can pass on even using it most of the time unless you're playing the hacking race.
>literal wakanda salute
how embarrassing, amplitude needs to stop letting other studios ruin their games
Any differences from the patch preview?
Imo Re-Awakening has made Isyander too much of a b***h, you'll pretty much never have conflict with him unless you go out of your way to do so.
Changes to combat are good though, more utility focused module options are actually useful now, it's not just a contest of who's got the bigger dick flak/beams now.
You can set academy sliders in galaxy generation, default is weak fleets and no academy expansion now.
This vs Stellaris who wins?
ES2 by a large margin
If you want Stellaris but good play Space Empires IV
What is even different about combat, It was years since I played before, feels the same to me.
ES2 is the only 4x I know that lets you retrofit whole fleet without losing your moves or actions, so I just end up producing heaps of cheap mostly empty ships and then slotting the best guns/modules when it's actually time to fight. I still think combat in ES in general is overdesigned clusterfrick that's impossible for AI to master and unintuitve for humans, where all the skill lies in predicting from ship stats and experience what preferred range or gimmicks enemy is going to use. So adjusting weapon stats changes nothing,
Carriers got nerfed to shit
The light and medium support ships got significantly buffed
Flak was rebalanced to not be indisputably the best weapon module until high tier beams, which has by proxy buffed Missiles
Shield capacities were also giga-buffed
All of the utility stuff like EMP and Railguns were buffed
The game will directly tell you the targeting priority of ship types now
Bombers and Fighters were made significantly faster moving so they don't die before even getting to the enemy flotillas now
I see thx, I barely used carriers.
I don't remember if titanium torpedoes always had 100% long and medium accuracy but this seems insane with nerfed flak.
This game liked to hitch and stutter a lot before and I feel like the new patch has only made it worse
what dlcs should I get? I got the base game sometime
some of them apparently break the game basically?
but then they supposedly fixed some as well, I'm not sure
it's safe to either get all four or exclude penumbra + awakening because they weren't that good actually (and awakening infamously breaks the game), you can start your games with dlc options disabled
