The remake would have been shit no matter what. It's a remake.
Re2 remake was better than the original though. Same with 1.
You talkin crazy anon
>1
Wtf no
>2
Eh, it depends on what you value more, gameplay, or the atmosphere (including the soundtrack and environment design).
REmake is 100% better than RE1 or RE1 DC. Let me guess, you hate the Trevors’ sub plot?
Yes. Not only that, I hate how the remake fricked the pacing and bogged the whole experience down with unnecessary additions.
dude what? 2 is questionable, but REmake smokes the original.
That's what zoomers and normalgays think
The boughs that bear most hang lowest
RE2 was bad compared to RE1. REmake1 was made back when games had some integrity.
They are so different its weird to compare them. Resident Evil 2 2019 doesn't look or play like Resident Evil 2 1998 and the times it tries to emulate it are a detriment, like the A/B scenarios.
Its a good game but I would have just rather had a new franchise.
RE2 is an action horror game. Silent Hill 2 remake will need to match the otherworldly tone of SH2 or it will be worse as a horror game. It would be like RE4 remake not having the campy parts. It would be ruined.
Though I agree that REmake is the superior game, I still defend the idea that the original is worth playing and has it's own merits. It's not a case of the remake replacing the original, but they both coexisting as very different things.
The original is more of a surreal, borderline lynchian atmosphere while the remake is more of a traditional horror experience. Notice how most places in the original mansion are impossibly well lit, almost like a studio set. How the characters act like extraterrestrial robots, how everything is...off, somehow.
This. We all know the twist. The gameplay better be something special.
This is a good point. Since everyone knows the story already Konami should make some radical changes while preserving some of the iconic moments and visuals in order to keep old fans happy. Like maybe have a new ghost enemy type that tries to stop James from doing anything he didn't do in the oroginal SH2, that would be pretty cool!
>each noose drop cutscene now lasts 5 minutes
holy bloober
Konami is a garbage company that doesn't care.
Considering their prior choices I'm not surprised.
OP sucks wieners but he’s right on this one: https://youtu.be/I_uD7gxIF2s
This video is stupid as frick and calls Observer a bladerunner ripoff because it uses the cyberpunk aesthetic.
Repeat after me: I will not parrot youtuber opinions, and I will use my brain
The series was too good for Konami to own. I almost think FromSoftware is the only ones at this point that could do it enough justice and not ruin all the symbolism in the games.
Kojima
We had that chance but Konami blew it. I do agree though that it was the best chance for another great SH. Because that ship has sailed though only way is if Konami outsourced to an actual company that could do it justice and I only see From being able to do so.
*sighs*
Somehow Fromdrones are at it again
STR DEX James Sunderland wielding +7 crowbar wants to know your location
>the company that made the series is perfect company to handle the remake
Do you shitters even think about what you are saying? Or are you so desperate to shit on everything to try and fit in you just post anything as long as it has a negative spin on it?
Konami have an awful track record of farming out Silent Hill to the west.
Oh, you're one of those gays who shits on anything after 4. Opinion discarded.
Shattered Memories was ok as walking sim. Haven't played Origins still. Homecoming and Downpour weren't very good Silent Hill games. That's not a controversial opinion.
Origins is pretty much an official fan game, it's the least terrible as a game but completely ruined SH1's story
I'll probably give it a playthrough after I finish replaying the Team Silent games again this year.
I played the game they did where Rutger Hauer played the MC and I thought it was fine.
>ripping off other games to ride on trends
That's literally how the Silent Hill series started.
>entire resume is mobile shovelware
That's not far off the original team a lot of them didn't have a game behind their belt or they had only made some sports shovelware. Their were outcasts who couldn't deliver a successful product.
It's not like their making a new game, bro. Calm the frick down. They're supervised by people who worked on that game.
I don't see how they're riding trends Layers of Fear is the only big topical one being a P.T. clone.
Observer is a sci-fi game.
The Medium uses really old school approach to video games with the whole fixed-camera angle thing so definitely not trend riding there in fact the current market hates that type of game RE2, 3 and SH2RE are going OTS because of this.
Blair Witch I mean it's Blair Witch what else do you want it has the aesthetic it's an officially licensed product.
What's the most surprising high-quality and high-profile title to come out of studio that by no rights should've been able to deliver?
There's gotta be at least a few examples
I've never played Dino Crisis 1-2, does it FEEL and play like the original RE trilogy?
Why do old nurses fill me with unbrindled urge to ravish and breed their tastefully decaying sexy bodies, while the new nurses do nothing for me?
>trusting Konami with anything
>year of our Lord 2012+10
I sincerely wish you fellas behave differently in this regard
RE2 remake couldn't even figure out how to make spiders
no idea why people defend it as perfection
