Literally all Epic did in the past few years was
                >piss off PC market
                >demonstrate their own failing business model
                >sue other corps and reveal they're literally no different
Epic funding game development is at least a step forward. If only they used that money to make a better store, maybe I'd actually buy it.

They have no excuse for the launcher to be as shitty as it is, fricking GoG Galaxy is leagues better with a company having a fraction of the budget to work with.

This. Epic Games is revolutionized the gaming industry. They're focus is on satisfying the customers always and never failed to deliver. They charitable give away FREE games all the time unlike Steam greediness stingy. Epic Games is even friendly to our favorite developers, taking smaller % the profits than the Steam. Basically, Epic Games is a win win for everyone involved. I just hope the Steam customers eventually awaken to see the greed and poor quality of Steam as sooner possible.

183 games suppose average is $20 for each one. $20 X 183 is over $3000!!! So just by going to Epic Games you can receive over $3000. When will Steam ever done such a thing? • 5 months ago

Because if your indie game gets even a little traction it gets a huge boost to viability since Valve actually has built in tools just for that, if you compare that with Epic it only gets viability on launch and falls through the cracks with no promotions.
The sad thing is most platforms most do a terrible job actually promoting your game unless you pay or are connected to the platform owner.

      This is flat-out true.
The fact is that Unreal Engine is a better choice than Unity, and Epic provides a ton of support. With Unity, your indie game will look like GTFO at best, and Lethal Company at worst. With Unreal Engine, at best you can have A Hat in Time or Stray, at worst you get PUBG.

It still is gonna depend on the developer, using UE or Unity isn't magically make their game better or worse since both have pros and cons depending on what your aiming to do.

I would like one game launcher for my game collection and since my operating system isn't allowed to have that job I'll go with the marketplace that seems competent. For all the complaints about Steam
    >they charge too much
    >they're too big (and this is a problem only because of the above)
    >they're too popular - I launched my game with zero marketing today and nine other games launched today too
None of them are about shady business dealings, or political conflict (rarely muh Black folk plz ban), or technical issues (their servers stopped crashing years ago). Basically
    >I'm sad because I chose to partner with a successful well run company and the $100 dollars I made off indie 2d platform bonanza had a 20% cut from steam instead of a 40% cut from the long list of other companies that were used to put games in gamestop before steam was invented
