Comfy run, runner and couch having fun with it being the runner's birthday, things got increasingly more fun towards the end despite the gameplay becoming very repetitive as they grinded required items.

The best runs are the long stream 2 runs. Its was ESA excels at, almost the opposite of GDQ, their worst runs are the long ones. Has to be a stream 2 run though.

Gonna be honest, I dont really mind ESA Pokemon runs. They're not as bad as GDQ's. The except being Chrism's over estimate Emerald Randomizer he does at every single speedrun event

Yeah thats why I dont mind them. The runners are more tolerable and they're a lot shorter than Keizaron's Pokeshit. They're definitely mostly the same but apparently they bring in good donations and bring in the casuals as Pokemon has a big following. I think the exception is when its a randomizer, randomizers are just not interesting to me especially when the randomizer is suspiciously in their favour.
They are better because they get on with the run and it isn't ruined by shitty donations/impressions

It definitely feels it this year, but I'm one of the few who quite like the amateurish, low budget feel of ESA this year. Especially once they changed they reverted a lot of the shitty changes like the layou and camera angle.
Winter has always meant to have that more pure runs, relaxing, no high production feel to it anyways.
True, there's been a lot of weird "ESA has been ruined" stuff about no Lovare and the downtime and having talking to camera bits, as if those haven't been part of ESA stuff before at some stage.

I don't understand why they'd make so many of these new things and not think once that these are bad changes that make past events more better. I'm glad they finally started to play plum and frame perfect to make the setup segment less shit.
A lot of them are already getting reverted so we won't see them for the summer. This event will just be known as that weird experimental event where they tried to change everything and backtracked on most of it half way through the event.
Thankfully the runs have been pretty decent
A lot of people came on and watched ESA for the first time in late 2022 or 2023 after they had enough of GDQ's shittiness and ESA was shilled a lot in the threads so they know no Lovareless ESA. Hence the thread number increase and ratings increase. The ratings numbers between ESA Winter 2022 and ESA summer 2022 are very noticeable.

ESA is objectively better than gdq now.

What did more damage IMO was all the other changes. Day 1 especially felt absolutely soulless and just had a weird vibe to it. It wasn't until Stream 2 launched with all the familiar things did it feel like ESA. Stream 1 has improved though as they backtrack on all the changes day by day and its no coincidence the soul is returning to ESA with each change reversion.
This Pokemon run is actually alright. Shows they can be alright if you put some actually Pokeautists on it and not attention prostitutes like Keizaron.
You guys are actually insane thinking that. Though I will say reruns are the way to go if it wont be 24hours. Because at least then its still technically a marathon.

The idea is good on paper, with reruns people can catch all the morning runs they missed, especially handy for Americans who are the one screwed over by the 24 hours. But people haven't been doing that. But people haven't been doing that. Not just in the threads but viewer wise. They've instead been sleeping, or if they're an American wagie, just not watching.
Also the first thing the hosts did when the stream started was talk about how tired they are and how they got next to no sleep, so the whole "Lets do this so we can sleep" is pointless as they're getting no sleep anyways as the runs go into 1am and 2am.
Sometimes, in terms of energy and feeling tired, staying up all night feels better than going to bed and only getting 4 - 5 hours sleep, sometimes you feel even worse.

Away from my main factory I found resources in pic related. I am trying to mine specifically where the resources merge until they are gone and it is separated so when I come back here later I don't have miners mining 2 different resources fricking up the belt.

It was made by a couple of passionate as frick developers with some really good ideas.
The type of people who made games a long time ago and now are different. Passionate people made games before to make something fun to play. Now it's school leavers making games working at big companies treating making games like any old shitty 9 to 5 with people at the top making shit decisions on top. This isn't to say there wasn't still shit games back then or there isn't any good games now. Maybe I can't shake the nostalgia googles but I'd still rather replay Gen 1 pokemon than this run's game, is Let's Go Pikachu even considered a sort of Kanto remake?

Made a prequel game, basically bullied the original developers into letting them use the original monsters.
Complicated story but Stardock wanted to reboot the franchise so they bought the trademark. However they tried to screw over the original devs and they weren't having it so a whole lawsuit happened. They ended up making Star Control Origins in 2018 which is a similar kind of game but is set in its own universe with different aliens and story.
That seems like a lot of effort for a very early 90s DOS game. I'd have just given the devs the trademark.
