I would like something with a bit more game but i'm open to them. I quite enjoyed Sakura Taisen.

      Vagrant Story

I'm actually playing through that currently. Very good game. I kneel to Matsuno.

After persona Rune Factory 4 Special is the best option

How much is it rpg and how much is it farming? i don't like harvest moon (or farm games for that matter).

Is it really that good for escapism if you have to leave the town at the end of the game? I always thought it was a nice hit of 'realistic' melancholy.

      For the most part, yeah.
The ephemeral nature of it makes it even more effective.

Hm, you'd just figure that someone looking for escapism wouldn't like a 'okay now I have to give up (X) and (Y) and go back to my 'normal life'

Leaving the town to make you feel bad was always the dumbest bait to me. Protag is a train ride away and everyone acts like it's a tragic goodbye. Dude could come back on the weekends, make plans to go to the same college with the people he likes most, but noooooo we have to try and recapture the p3 ending...

I mean, I guess it works since they ARE still teenagers, it feels more emotional since meeting someone basically every day at school or just around town without any real planning needed is a fair bit different than only being able to meet up with them on specifically scheduled weekends and stuff.

Plus it's probably not something they've all had to deal with before.

I've finally lost everything and want some escapism. I want to try this game but I heard you don't even get control of the game for the first hour. I don't love cutscenes that are that long.

Yeah, P4's intro painfully long. I think like a good two or more hours before you can get to the actual game.
I still recommend it, very good game, and in the long run, it really isn't that bad when you consider the game's whole duration. It really is the definition of comy.

I'll give it a shot. Is p4 golden alright to play?

That is basically accurate and it's like 4+ hours before you get anything resembling freedom.

I'm sorry life is hitting you hard. It's bad for me too, the past ten weeks have been the hardest time of my life. I couldn't even bring myself to play videogames at all for most of August and September.

I haven't been able to play anything for a year. I finally started feeling better and got to playing arkham city though. I lost almost everything and I don't feel like starting over. Again. I hope things go better for you.

      >want some escapism
      >I don't love cutscenes
Go autistically grind in WoW or something then, the whole point of persona is the hour+ long cutscenes hanging out with anime characters.

Meh it's not that I can't be engrossed in cutscenes. But an hour is too long. Let me walk around and talk to who I want to.

Isn't tactics a political medieval drama? i think you meant Tactics advance with the funny kid that forces his brother back to the wheel chair.

I'll give it a shot. Is p4 golden alright to play?

      Yeah, it works just fine.

I meant final fantasy tactics as a whole including advanced

When I was at my lowest point the game that helped me forget about my pain wasn't anime waifus, it was Ring Fit. It's easier to feel good about improving your body than it is to trick your brain into being engaged in a fake reality to replace your real one.
