It destroys the simplicity of RA2 in favor of having lots of units with gimmicks or modifiers and buffs/debuffs and pidgeonholing things into their "intended" roles. This isn't inherently a bad thing but there are a lot of units and a very real possibility while learning is getting completely undone by a random unit doing something you can't track to it.
It's the only mod with an extensive campaign, but YMMV on whether the completely different tone and story and such is to your liking. Personally, Act 1 for Yuri's army is dogshit because of how many missions is "mind control unit" rather than playing with the army proper, but some Act 2 missions are awesome.
Challenge maps are cool if you have a buddy to play with and it's a shame that shit isn't done more often in anything.
It is worth trying, but it's hard to escape the feeling that this wouldn't be so hated if it wasn't touted as an "objectively superior" version of Yuri's Revenge and just went for being its own thing considering it's already a different design, plot, tone, and so on.
In the last mission where she said winter was cold but if I won the mission it could be different teehee I instantly closed the game and jerk offd furiously
