Nope, but that worked in SWSH. Embody Aspect can still get the initial boost by switching out Weezing but I guess it's coded to only work once per switch in.

Technically VGC is on the upswing, but the hype can often die down as a mainline game's lifespan continues. By PLZA or gen 10 it will boom again. VGC has been helped and honestly saved by the esports scene treating it like other online strategy games, but I think its also centralized the pro voices together who collab or cross star in others channels, like beastcoast.

I hear you. I think there is a little merit to it, but not much, in discussing opprotinity costs. Granted I'm not sure hoe many contexts you'd like to run Urshifu S and R on the same team. I could see an argument made for, say, Ogerpon W and H on the same team (especially doing one physical sweeper build and one tanky), but what I aim to get out of it is how often a species is used to examine that. If, say, they went Ogerpon Cornerstone, they chose not just to not put Ogerpon W or H on the team but the elected for Oger Rock over them. It feeds into the "these Pokemon are good" argument regardless of form.
You can't run them on the same team anyway, since they've got the same dex number.

The thing I miss about tourneys being free is that the first round used to be pretty much free, since you'd have people rolling up with in game teams or like Eeveelution teams or some shit. Only tryhards will pay $50 to get their ass kicked, so you're playing against people who almost know what they're doing from the getgo.
To be fair there's also the fact that competitive knowledge is more accessible than ever which is also a big reason why there's way less shitters around.
There's no comparison to how things used to be back then. And even if breeding and stuff is still trash it's like heave and earth compared to then too.

Each time he went for something other than Cudgel it was a clear misplay. Am I going crazy or does it feel like there were a lot more regionals last season? Maybe I just managed to watch more of them, but I swore there was one like every weekend from March to June.

I thought Portland was about to start the long string of tourneys until the ICs and Worlds but then they only had two Regionals each in February and March.
I think you're right, here's the NA schedule.
Well normally during the off weeks, they're holding a tournament in one of the other regions, but even accounting for the Euro/OZ schedule, there's lots of weeks with just .. nothing. Meanwhile the last European regional is quite literally a week before Worlds. Seems like bad scheduling to me. Also, it felt like LAIC came immediately after the season began.
