My adblocker still works for YouTube, but on Twitch, it's unironically over. They've updated, and have "don't want ads? subscribe!" all over the place.
I'm not hunting the web for some autistic script just for it to quit working a few weeks later. I swipe my card and I don't ads today, I don't see them tomorrow, I don't seem then next year. No further effort required. I'm not some poor piece of shit so a few bucks I don't even notice.

Must be a you problem, I have both browsers open at all times and the only time I had issues with that was before I upgraded my RAM, Firefox would unload tabs when I had way too many opened.
Youtube works silky smooth in Chrome, in Firefox everything takes seconds to load and show up.

uBO works better on Firefox but overall Chromium is a much better and faster browser. Its JS engine is like twice as fast and I can see it even on a high end PC. Firefox on phone is straight up laggy due to that even if you're on flagship Snapdragon.

This is a good point. I wonder how much they've spent on circumventing and blockers, versus how profitable it actually is. Especially considering ad blockers have only gotten more popular as more companies make a stink about them (or the ads become more obnoxious). Streamers can't turn off ads. They used to be able to, now you have MANDATORY ads.

samsung TVs are terrible, i own several i bought before i learned this and ir egret it but i'm too cheap to buy replacements until they break. would highly recommend you get a fire stick or a chromecast or something. i use the latter with an APK manager (basically like a exe for cell phone apps) and something that lets me transfer files from my phone to my chromecast so i can install bootleg youtube/twitch apps that have built in adblocking so i never see ads, ever. you could also use revanced which basically patches the official youtube/twitch apps with adblockers, i used that on my phone
just use an apk manager and the Transfer Files To Tv app to put revanced on there, it should work. if not there are apps like Soundtv for twitch and SmartTube for youtube. i use those just because i was a brainlet and didn't figure out revanced until after i did it but i'm grateful to have adfree viewing on my phone when i'm stuck at the dr's office or something

no it loads a lower quality version of the stream while the ad plays in the background and then swaps back to whatever quality you had before. it basically hijacks the little window of the stream in progress they use and move over in place of the ad.
Unfortunately only about 17% of guys have an adverse reaction to ads. Everyone else seems to be either neutral or brainlessly eating it up.

Streamlink, and wrote a .bat so it brings up a CMD so I can just type the streamer's name and ti opens it in VLC and a pop-out chat in Chrome.
Gonna check this Twitch GUI thing tomorrow though. If they end up blocking the VLC method then I'll simply stop watching Twitch. The ads are ridiculously obnoxious and downright insulting sometimes.

You can't turn off ads as a streamer, but you can disable periodic ads by running prerolls instead. 15-30 seconds of preroll is more preferable than getting interrupted without warning by some obnoxiously loud honda or tv show ad.

The problem isn’t ads themselves, but streamers who decide to run a full minute and a half of ads every hour to try and get higher ad revenue cuts even if they lack the viewcount to benefit from such a thing. Just leave prerolls on and people don’t have to watch an ad for the rest of the stream.

samsung TVs are terrible, i own several i bought before i learned this and ir egret it but i'm too cheap to buy replacements until they break. would highly recommend you get a fire stick or a chromecast or something. i use the latter with an APK manager (basically like a exe for cell phone apps) and something that lets me transfer files from my phone to my chromecast so i can install bootleg youtube/twitch apps that have built in adblocking so i never see ads, ever. you could also use revanced which basically patches the official youtube/twitch apps with adblockers, i used that on my phone
i use revanced on phone too, but linking it to the tv everything i want to watch some youtube is a hassle
just use an apk manager and the Transfer Files To Tv app to put revanced on there, it should work. if not there are apps like Soundtv for twitch and SmartTube for youtube. i use those just because i was a brainlet and didn't figure out revanced until after i did it but i'm grateful to have adfree viewing on my phone when i'm stuck at the dr's office or something

no it loads a lower quality version of the stream while the ad plays in the background and then swaps back to whatever quality you had before. it basically hijacks the little window of the stream in progress they use and move over in place of the ad.
i don't mind ads in theory, it's just in practice they're all loud and obnoxious. i got tired of my TV shows being at a normal volume but every ad blowing out my speakers.

Streamlink, and wrote a .bat so it brings up a CMD so I can just type the streamer's name and ti opens it in VLC and a pop-out chat in Chrome.
Gonna check this Twitch GUI thing tomorrow though. If they end up blocking the VLC method then I'll simply stop watching Twitch. The ads are ridiculously obnoxious and downright insulting sometimes.
