Difference is that Atlus has made numerous Nintendo only exclusives and such over the past few decades and the Persona situation was probably a result of some omega autismos being so moronic that Sega had to fire Nagoshi and step in. The main problem with GOG is you can't trust them with updates. More than once i bought an indie game only for it to be b months behind the steam version in updates. Now people day that's up to the publisher/developer not GOG but at the end of the day the result is the same for the consumer, broken games.
It's actually very well put together as a classic JRPG. Random encounters just go hand in hand with that. You can dislike them, but that's what the genre was built on, and the encounter rate isn't nearly as egregious as the mainstream games of the late 90s.

Don't care, when is Rance IX and X getting translated and why is it taking Rance X almost 5 years to not even be at 50% translated while DohnaDohna and Evenicle 2 got translations after less than 2 years?
With that being said the translation for Evenicle 2 was infested with memes and le funny reference compared to Evenicle 1
IX entered the beta stage recently. It might see a 2022 release, and if not we'll hopefully get an early 2023 release. I hope anyway.
As for X? I'll be impressed if we ever see it translated. It's got more text than DohnaDohna and Evenicle 2 combined.
