The biggest redpill about videogames in general is that the average gamer is a completely hypocritical piece of shit with no real loyalty, morals or awareness. All of those "anti-consumer practices" are totally justified when you consider just how fricking moronic gamers (especially PC gamers) are.
I have some friends who have been a great look into the average consumer is actually like when they don't care to talk about video games in depth. They've got a decent range of intelligence to see how each one consooms
>90-100 IQ
Somewhere between not giving a frick and exetemely opinionated in the worst way. Will buy anything that gets advertised and take issue with things I find totally alien. Appears to listen intently but will respond to my points as though I was saying the opposite of what I have just said. Contorts a wholly separate reality.
>100-110 IQ
Very limited interests. Usually only likes one kind of game or games that relate to their irl passions. Can converse about industry practices when you bring them up but will absolutely never remember anything between conversations.
>115-130 IQ
Generally great conversationalists. Able to play and enjoy a lot of vidya. Still won't take many recommendations. Will remember industry practices or design decisions that you, the enthusiast, have brought up when they see them in what they're currently playing. This won't profoundly impact their experience, they are just trying to relax. Will sometimes get passionate about very particular things (ex: I have an otherwise normal casual gamer friend who is oddly super into Monster Hunter and very opinionated about World's changes)
>130+
Does not give a frick. Do not bother trying to hold conversation with this person if they're not notably into video games. Will play and consoom literally anything if it's recommended enough times, pay full price, play for an hour, never touch it again, and never feel any buyer's remorse.
>trying to make 115 IQ sound better than 130
lmao midwit cope
Not the point. Everybody of advanced intelligence with no interest in video game discussion, but a passive interest in media consumption, knows that this is all a waste of time anyway. They also tend to be in a higher income bracket so they have far less opportunity cost when spending money on vidya. This is purely anecdotal, admittedly, but consistent iny experience. In contrast with the 90 IQ group, the 130+ group is opinionated on virtually nothing when it comes to video games.
>look at me how smart i am with my study groups
you're a gay
>tend to be in a higher income bracket
actual smart people tend to have serious social problems that make it hard for them to hold a job
they're either spaghetti-spilling inept at speech, or mouthy smartasses ignorant of how awful they sound
usually the mouthy ones are homosex as frick
how do you know your friends IQ, did you all jump into your minivan and go take the test one day? and after that you went out for pizza at pizza hut?
whatever you say champ
I think that might be more due to differences in interest in gaming in your tiny sample size and not IQ.
>I have some friends
Frick off.
>this homie thinks he 140+ and is GUESSING people's iq
Lmao

consensus cracking bot trying to make it sound like the moron bots you see online are real people
No Man's Sky blackpilled me on how stupid gamers are. Baldurs Gate 3 reminded me of how stupid gamers are.
They're different people.
The average (biggest group) of gamers are sportslop, COD, battlefield gamers. They deserve to get swindled out of money.
The next group are people who scammed by single player slop also deserve to lose their money. If you can't be arsed to look up reviews or refuse to see patterns/red flags you shouldn't have that money.
Then you have the "anti-consumer" crowd. They're fricking tiny, just loud.
>loyalty
Why does a consumer have to be loyal?
Frick you, we spent three times as much on advertising as we did on the game itself, and these arrogant pig gamers are still not happy about it, b***hes. We bought up the top streamers, what else do these butthole gamers want? Why can't these bastards just buy two copies of our game and leave a positive review? They've got a lot of nerve, we need to start regulating this before these stinking gamers get so pissed off.
>I can't think of a more moronic userbase than steam users
There really is no way to refute this. The fact this thing became a top seller after all the revelations is rather damning.
>The fact this thing became a top seller after all the revelations is rather damning.
If you promised a DayZ with combat, menus and animations that are not janky and backed that up with a trailer(fake or not) you would easily break into the top sellers. Military survival zombie shooters are dime a dozen but good ones that promise good combat are nowhere to be found.
>this trash became a top seller
>Dragon's Dogma 2 barely scratched eight place for a few hours before dropping off
deserved for having denuvo
It's pretty simple, no denuvo basically makes pirates not play it and heaps of YouTubers and streamers are pirates, plenty of random workers are pirates too and if none of them are talking about the brand new game they're playing because they can't play it for free then the company using denuvo will get less free advertising.
Also denuvo is a red flag for your game being trash too, like that magic casting doom game on ue5 that no one talks about
u know u could try it out for an hour then refund, right?
I bet 90% of them refunded
DayZ and Zomboid came out in EA like 10 years ago so Im thinking this is a new generation of morons getting scammed
>gargantuan dick sucking lips
every damn time
I feel so out of touch. I just don't get it.
I remember seeing some gameplay footage a few years back and thinking it looked too good to be true.
Funny how at that time it was marketed as a pure MMO, turned out to be a shitty ass extraction shooter, and nobody seems to give a frick
Yeah, I thought it was gonna be a crazy version of Day Z.
Bu
>we want the last of us audience
lol
wow she is fricking beautiful
I don't know about fricking beautiful but she's above average and I would do.
shes fat 6/10 face
Any woman whose first inclination was to shoot that giant head is wife material.
That's actually terrifying
I never heard of this game before seeing this thread.
I'm actually serious.
I thought it was f2p. You mean to tell me people paid $40 for this shit? Steam drones are the most moronic cattle in the whole gaming space.
That's actually scary as frick.
>low IQ Gankeredditors pretending to be genius seers because a game turned out badly and for once they won't find anyone defending it
Calm down, ma'am.
I don't know how people actually thought it was going to be an MMO. I mean, I get that one of the tag descriptions was MMO, but let's be honest and use your fricking eyes. If you saw any one of the trailers, it's obvious this game was going to be the Walmart version of Tarkov, with zombies. It not being an MMO seems to be the biggest thing people are b***hing about.
that Black fluoride watermelon stare is so offputting lmao
I'm pretty sure normalgays were expecting this to be the new DayZ.
Based on unproven claims of a nobody dev. Very smart.
Elites are 100% right about most consumers being nothing but cattle that predictably reacts to stimuli.
>I can't think of a more moronic userbase than steam users
Its mostly just small children aged 8-12.
that homosexual wife beater DR Disrespect streamed the game to like 100k people at once and said its the best thing since the previous game for kids, dayz
all those games like rust and the like have average player age in single digits
it's just people with nothing better to do feeding off of the zeitgeist and rage frenzy to feel like they belong to something
