I recently played this on parsec. The only thing keeping me playing was the banter and occassional team killing.
Let's do this.
Look, I understand that the C64 was twice the price but did Bongs really not think saving up was worth it at least just not get eye raped?
>paying for computer games
More like one guy bought the cassette and made copies for everyone at school.
Anon, I'm not talking about the games, I'm talking about the computers themselves. A C64 was roughly twice the price of a Speccy
Even the ZX Spectrum had all 3. NES version BTFO haha...
I never saw the appeal to Rampage.
it's an arcade game. there is no other goal other than to see how much hulk smashing you can get done with one quarter. this is why that one console Rampage game sucked because they had to shorten how soon you got to the final level adding a sense of progression.
I used to love it as a kid. I literally just played world tour on 64 as few days ago and it's not as engaging as I remember. The controls also seem off to what I remember. I only beat like 3 levels before I died and was not interested enough to keep playing.
Same here
Frick dude. You the man OP for reminding me how much I loved rampage back in the day. I’m downloading it now

Frogger was never good

It's an Arcade game. You're supposed to play 15-30 mins, not expect 20 hours of content
you are destroying a city as a giant ape, what more do you want
Is that 7800
Owned that on the 2600 and it kicked ass
Well, yeah. Lots of games back in the day were like that. Unless you're telling me you don't like playing games like Galaga, Ms. Pac-Man, Tetris, and Bubble Bobble.
When I was a wee lad, me and my cousin played this for 4 or 5 straight hours, because we didn't realize the signs in the stages were there to select the next level. We kept repeating the same 7 or 8 levels a ton of times, because we always destroyed everything.
For some reason I like this game over World Tour and Universal Tour. The simple feel about it is something we will never get in games ever again.
I remember playing the NES port with my brother all the way through to the end. It must have had infinite continues because I don't remember either us of being especially good at it or ever having to start over. Seemed like we just brute forced our way through the game.
My step-bro and I spent an entire afternoon beating the NES version. I remember it being such a slog after a couple hours, but he convinced me to not quit.
>t. George at home, Ralph at the arcade.
>liked it back in the N64 days
>think to myself, "man, I iwhs they kept making these"
>check wikipedia
>they were making Rampage games all the way up to 2006, but no one really cared anymore after a point
>iwhs
wish*, I meant
I thought you was trying to mimick some weird wienerney british accent. Ole rampage, thems the day they was, thems the days.
I tried it on sms but it doesn't really show progression, I don't know if I can finish it in 30 minutes or 5 hours.
They also made a new arcade version for the movie release.
I have the Lynx version. Graphically, it is quite similar to the Arcade release.
The lynx version is great.
Nit sure I agree about the graphics being similar to the arcade. It has an extra character and you don’t see the whole cityscape at once. This is intentional due to the handheld format which actually works well.
I’d say it’s probably the best version.
eating people never gets old
>World Tour was universally panned for being too simple and repetitive, even as an arcade game
God, I wonder what Brian Colin (Rampage creator) thought of the game's reception
I really enjoyed the one on the N64 where you travel around to different planets.
one of my favs.
strangely, its not the focus, but its a really good PvP environment, but you arent given enough lives to keep the PvP up.
And it's still fun as frick.
