>Every time you hit the enemy everything freezes for half a second
Holy fricking shit this is so incredibly annoying. Is this a bandaid solution for otherwise shitty animations, they couldn't implement a more believable and subtle hitstop or is it just a legitimate, awful artistic choice? Is there any way to turn this crap off? I'm not even playing eith an heavy weapon, just a normal sword

Taste issue.
It looks like garbage though
Kek the original black "boarders" as the le epic gamefaqs topic called it would have mindbroken modern v
About 1/3 of the screen in the original was just black letterbox lol
There were so many QoL features missing and we noticed so few. Weirs how standards were much lower while quality was much higher, though much of that was being younger.
We actually played without the eternal ferrystone, and only had like 3 portcrystals...reading through the list of changes you realize how much the game was improved.
Everyone noticed moron were you like 8 when it came out
Japs love the freezepunch, you just gotta learn to enjoy it.
It's because it's an ARPG so they don't have the resources to give every enemy proper good hit reactions. DMC is by the same devs and hitstop is used much more sparringly there because combat is 100% the focus
>Doesn't know about poke-pause
Quit being a homosexual and start pausing the game during every swing, to go into photo mode and gaze at the battle in serene stillness like a man with red blood stampeding through his veins
the only time I ever really enjoyed hitstop was Dead Rising
Game is trash, drop it
What kind of moron doesn't love hitstop?

what do the reddit dots have to do with that
What does the Reddit pause have to do with combat?
>Monster hunter does the same.
Disingenuous
play a real monster hunter game
World has massive hitstop on heavy weapons like GS and Hammer
Generally the bigger the hit the bigger the hitstop is
someone post the webm of the massive hammer swing VS zinogre in the arena, I don't have it
>World has massive hitstop on heavy weapons like GS and Hammer
But not on every fricking weapon
yes it does you blind homosexual
lies
>bing bing wahoo Black person
don't care
its less pronounced but there is hitstop in the first few seconds of your example.
clearly this is a troll thread.
are you pretending or are you for real?
You can see the fricking hitstop in that clip
it's the reason it feels "meaty" when you hit shit, otherwise it feels like swinging at nothing
I'm telling you, you've never played a game without hitstop so you don't know how shit it feels without
lies
we can all tell the hitstop was extra because 3 small enemies launched themselves into the swing (very funny btw)
all weapons in MHW have hitstop, this is not a debate
Lies
stay mad then
The least you could do is use
Monster Hunter Thread
Or I guess in this case
Dragon's Dogma Thread
though that doesn't have the same history.
>can literally see the critters stop in mid-air for a moment due to HITSTOP
>not roll canceling before the final hit of PR and looping into another backhop into PR
>didn’t play 3U or 4U
Stay arrogant, I don’t mind if you never play peak MH
Tri was good but I feel like nobody played 4 for a reason
lmao moron
even DBs have hitstop
when a game has no hitstop it feels like you're hitting nothing, it's absolute dogshit

Hitstop truly is the reddit spacing of game design
Why isn't Dragon's Dogma constantly at the top of /r/gaming or whatever is the main gaming Reddit page right now?
Monster hunter does the same.
I like it.
I don't mind that you don't like it.
I fricking love obscene hitstop and I am not joking.
Works on my machine.
Isnt this staple in japanese combat? I think Nier has the same micofreezes, same with Final Fantasy. Its to emphasize the impact of the hit.
>hitslop
I barely understand what you're complaining about and it has never bothered me.
You haven't noticed how the game freezes for a very brief moment when you connect an attack? It's called hitstop and it's quite popular in Japanese action games.
>Japanese
>action games
Lmao, no wonder. Somethings just aren't meant to go together.
name a good non-japanese action game
upvoted for a truly /r/unpopularopinion! take my Ganker gold
>not a hitstop appreciator
hmmm, no, very unwise
>hating hitstop
Already aiming for homosexual of the year 2024 eh, OP?
hitslop is trash and you should feel bad for liking it
>he fell for the quintessential Ganker meme
This game is pure garbage perpetrated by autists who fell in love with their virtual girlfriends.
