You can get evil dead free on epic for now. Is this a 'crazy' deal or is this game dying before it ever makes it to steam?

>Evil Dead the game
lol

LOL
Whats the deal here though? are all characters under paid DLC? is the game dead?
Game's dead. Really swingy balance patches that either heavily favored survivors or the evil led to a lot of people dropping it. Lots of grind to level up characters which only just now got worse with the introduction of their prestige system.
Game is not entirely dead, but there was not so much player base because not so many people know or like Evil Dead.
Characters are all playable, there are a few behind "missions" that are just challenges,
only customes are DLC.
I played this many times before and is fun, the problem for me is that there are little content in the Evil Dead universe to make a huge pvp game around it. Is like dead by daylight, but a lot better, but with little content.
Yeah it does feel like they're really reaching with some of the characters, like making fricking Cheryl a playable character despite the only noteworthy thing about her being that she got fricked by a tree. Also there's the fact that like half the characters are just different variations of Ash. I mean you've got Ash vs the Dead Ash, AoD Ash, Evil Dead 2 Ash, and Evil Dead Ash, and they all have the same voice lines
It's a shame too. Even though PvP was grossly unbalanced when I played it to the point where I never won a single match as a survivor while PvE was way too easy and you didn't get as much out of it (I can't remember but I don't think the AI demon could even possess players), I still had some pretty memorable moments with it. Melee combat was pretty satisfying too albeit a bit simplistic.
>because not so many people know or like Evil Dead.
It's another shitty CSS zombie mod the game with EGS exclusivity. I would pay full price for a decent singleplayer/co-op Evil Dead game on Steam.
Same, maybe pick up where Ash vs. Evil Dead left off since the frickers canceled it on a cliff hanger that looked like it could make for a cool season
I don't know. I know the game has a "season pass" which includes the characters they release. I'm not sure how this is going to work if they re-release it on steam, you already won't be able to get retail wagie and knight costumes for Ash. Epic money can't be that good.
it's not paid content dude. This is a very recent game and for some reason it's free now. Take it or don't.
good morning sir
good morning sir
it's dying for the same reason all new asymmetrical multiplayer games die
sunk cost fallacy for DBD
No thanks I already have THE Evil Dead game
have a nice day.
probably because the game needs people, wich is sad and good at the same time because i can finally play it for free until who knows when. I mostly blame the usual stupid decision of EPIC exclusivity for some quick hundred thousands bucks or maybe a 1 million if they got lucky.
It sucks, I'm glad my love for evil dead didn't get me to actually pay money for the game.
the game looks and feels very cheap
All they had to do was make Dead Space, but with an Evil Dead skin, and they would have had the perfect Evil Dead game. I'm guessing all these licensed games do the multiplayer thing just because it's cheaper and easier to do. It doesn't help my confidence that games like this tend to be abandoned within like a year, so it's got the shelf life of milk.
lmao this
I saw it free on egs, was like oh cool evil dead I remember that franchise I enjoyed it, then looked a little closer and yet another live service multiplayer thing and never bothered installing it
>release on fortnite storefront that has to bribe people with free games in order to remain relevant
>dead on arrival
Imagine my shock.
The same thing happened to that Predator game that the same developer abandoned Friday the 13th for. Though, to be fair, the lawsuit killed that game.
