Yes. In the EN translation Bridget is trooning out. In the japanese script this doesn't happen but whenever they interview the director or Daisuke they will keep insisting that the EN release is the correct version.
Wish UNI & 3S were higher than Strive & Granblue and that MK was dead last but this is fine. Horrible timing to have DBFZ not return for its 7th year given Toriyama's passing, but of course that wasn't foreseeable (should've happened anyway because it's better than Strive & Granblue).

I can tell you stopped following it during S1 or S2 and to be honest I don't blame you, but barring that period where LC21 was practically required to have a tournament winning team S3 onwards is significantly better. Strive's improvement is less extensive than DBFZ's but is worth mentioning, and Granblue sucks.
the problem is with the ip. Everyone is goku, vegeta or a clone of the two. They all move the same, they all fight the same, they all shoots projectiles the same. Superdash and vanish removes every possibility of individuality in movement. They are all rushdown. The few chars that are different sucks and you never see them in competitions. At least in strive pot figths completely different from chipp, from axl, from asuka, from zato. Same with granpoo to a lesser extent, vaseraga is not the same as metera, etc.
Also by all being the same every combo looks the same and without a burst mechanic you are forced to watch them over and over and over and over. I just think they picked the wrong ip for an interesting game

I think it's people being done with NRS's bullshit moreso than the game itself, coupled with the story reboot and it breaking the MK/Injustice cadence they had for a while. 1 is probably better than 11 but 11 was the worst game NRS has made since they formed under that name so that's not saying much, it's just that 1 is basically 11 with KOF2000/MvC1 strikers stapled to it.
I'm not even sure if it sold that well this time. We heard about near 3 millions shortly after launch, but it took until January for them tot confirm it went past 3 millions, then no more updates even when you had Warner talking about their game strategy recently, without explicitly mentioned MK1 as a success.

The single biggest black mark against KI is no crossplay with Steam. If they could loosen Microsoft's israelite grip and not make the non-xbox, non-windows store version is a 2nd rate experience then the game would be in a great place to grow. STRIVE barely has any features period and the only reason why so many casual fans like it is teh game being completely random.
STRIVE accidentally - or maybe intentionally - got rid of the one big problem that all fighters have - at some point one player gets better while others stagnate - and if you keep getting matched against people who are better than you it won't take long for you to quit in frustration - because the only alternative is playing for another hundred plus hours to keep up with the tryhards.
This doesn't happen in STRIVE. In STRIVE you can be a complete shitter with 5 hours playtime and beat someone who has 800 hours in it simply by knowing the basic fundamentals - and there aren't many - of your character. Just get the first hit and you can easily push someone into a combo and wallbreak that decides the match. Or in case of Potemkin grab them two times and win.
This is why STRIVE is a game many people keep going back to - because skill doesn't really matter - there barely are any fundamentals to begin with and the only way to actually gain somewhat of an advantage over other players is memorizing the few bullshit things that other characters have against you. There are no options - there is only one way to play Pot- there is only one way to play Bridget - as long as you can do a basic b***h combo and get the first hit you win. That's STRIVE for you.

ArcSys are doing what makes them the most money. They removed all references to Taiwan and Tibet after the release of STRIVE to sell the game to teh chinese. They also made Bridget openly trans in the english version in order to shill the troony on social media. But towards the japanese they still say "We never changed our vision for this character" and beat around the bush cause they know declaring Bridget trans would kill sales in Japan.
Everything they did with STRIVE had the goal to maximize sales. The censorship, them getting rid of lewd costume dresses, the story - everything.

Yes. In the EN translation Bridget is trooning out. In the japanese script this doesn't happen but whenever they interview the director or Daisuke they will keep insisting that the EN release is the correct version.
Wish UNI & 3S were higher than Strive & Granblue and that MK was dead last but this is fine. Horrible timing to have DBFZ not return for its 7th year given Toriyama's passing, but of course that wasn't foreseeable (should've happened anyway because it's better than Strive & Granblue).

I can tell you stopped following it during S1 or S2 and to be honest I don't blame you, but barring that period where LC21 was practically required to have a tournament winning team S3 onwards is significantly better. Strive's improvement is less extensive than DBFZ's but is worth mentioning, and Granblue sucks.
the problem is with the ip. Everyone is goku, vegeta or a clone of the two. They all move the same, they all fight the same, they all shoots projectiles the same. Superdash and vanish removes every possibility of individuality in movement. They are all rushdown. The few chars that are different sucks and you never see them in competitions. At least in strive pot figths completely different from chipp, from axl, from asuka, from zato. Same with granpoo to a lesser extent, vaseraga is not the same as metera, etc.
Also by all being the same every combo looks the same and without a burst mechanic you are forced to watch them over and over and over and over. I just think they picked the wrong ip for an interesting game

The single biggest black mark against KI is no crossplay with Steam. If they could loosen Microsoft's israelite grip and not make the non-xbox, non-windows store version is a 2nd rate experience then the game would be in a great place to grow. Everyone wanted to try it again after the big patch but left because Steam version is walled off.

Amazing what happens when a developer makes a fun game with good netcode. Imagine the numbers if it had an actual ranked mode.
STRIVE barely has any features period and the only reason why so many casual fans like it is teh game being completely random.
STRIVE accidentally - or maybe intentionally - got rid of the one big problem that all fighters have - at some point one player gets better while others stagnate - and if you keep getting matched against people who are better than you it won't take long for you to quit in frustration - because the only alternative is playing for another hundred plus hours to keep up with the tryhards.
This doesn't happen in STRIVE. In STRIVE you can be a complete shitter with 5 hours playtime and beat someone who has 800 hours in it simply by knowing the basic fundamentals - and there aren't many - of your character. Just get the first hit and you can easily push someone into a combo and wallbreak that decides the match. Or in case of Potemkin grab them two times and win.
This is why STRIVE is a game many people keep going back to - because skill doesn't really matter - there barely are any fundamentals to begin with and the only way to actually gain somewhat of an advantage over other players is memorizing the few bullshit things that other characters have against you. There are no options - there is only one way to play Pot- there is only one way to play Bridget - as long as you can do a basic b***h combo and get the first hit you win. That's STRIVE for you.

ArcSys are doing what makes them the most money. They removed all references to Taiwan and Tibet after the release of STRIVE to sell the game to teh chinese. They also made Bridget openly trans in the english version in order to shill the troony on social media. But towards the japanese they still say "We never changed our vision for this character" and beat around the bush cause they know declaring Bridget trans would kill sales in Japan.
Everything they did with STRIVE had the goal to maximize sales. The censorship, them getting rid of lewd costume dresses, the story - everything.
STRIVE isn't a brainchild of Daisuke like the previous games - STRIVE is a game written by the sales department of ArcSys

As much of a chucklefrick that game is in terms of patching/balancing people do play it so it's doing something right. Besides, apart from the big 3 it's arguably the most well packaged game on the market right now that isn't totally fricked or super niche.

Granblue is probably next best well off game compared to everything else on the market. Outside of the gameplay being something you gel with or not, the only other thing it has against it is how competitively viable it is, which it's not, but that can be something easily fixed down the road once Cygames/Arcsys get their heads out their ass.
