I already knew Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition were going to be shit. I pirated both on release with the full intention of only fricking around in them if I'd been drinking and they were both still unbelievable.
>If you already expected it to be shit, why play it?
Sunk cost
"Surely they will make it better this time right?"
Me liking the characters and story of the franchise and wanting to see them again
Usually ends with me having wasted the price of a full game after the devs spat on me and laughed
As with all other media, the pre-release trailers and information can only inform you so much about it. Even in the era of watching every movie trailer and ending up seeing the majority of the scenes.
Unless you're going to watch someone livestreaming the entire game, or at least a significant portion of the game, there's still the option that the pre-release info is inaccurate.
I could easily see someone thinking "I played the rest of the games in the series, might as well play the final game, and see the ending to the series".
Can't say I hated it but it's the only souls game I picked up and never beat. Open world and input reading was a huge turn off. Beat Astel and dropped.
BOTW. i expected a zelda game, instead i got empty assassin creed slop. its even funnier when you realize ac is just another slop in the genre but botw is the best game ever according to nintrannies. embarrassing
Fallout 76
Starfield
Diablo 4
Last Epoch
Dark Souls
Pokemon Sw/Sh
Oxygen Not Included
GRID Autosport
FFXV
Dishonored 2
Cyberpunk
L.A. Noire
Hellblade
ESO
GW2
And about a dozen others I can't remember.
I knew they copied souls before playing but I expectet it to be bearable. Playing as a horseman of the apocalypse and being a cumrag for some little insects was so fricking lame. Shitty camera didnt help.
It was buggy and the story wasn't as good but those are the only ways in which it didn't completely mog the first one. Obsidian also had to cut a ton of content even
FFXVI is the most recent. Never let MMO devs make a singleplaer game.
PSO2NG
Star Ocean 5
Valkyria Revolution
Anima: Gate oof Memories
Warriors All Stars
Dragon Age 2
And a lot more but really don't want to think about every single one of them and the list would be pretty big.
ER. I heard "open world" and I knew it would just mean "normal Dark Souls game but with endless hours of walking" and I was right. There was even shitty crafting too. I hate how people think more hours = more game.
RDR2
I knew i wouldnt like it since it was clearly a movie game but it turned out to be the most obnoxious self indulgent movie game that i have had the displeasure of experiencing.
Spore.
I think we all expected it to be good like the demo we saw
By the time it was launched everyone knew it had been butchered.
Not me.
what's he plotting?
He will not eagerly anticipate Molyneux's next game.
The same thing he do every night.
The same thing we plot every night, Pinky.
The Forza Motorsport reboot.
For me it was Alone in the Dark 5.
BG3
I already knew Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition were going to be shit. I pirated both on release with the full intention of only fricking around in them if I'd been drinking and they were both still unbelievable.
Dragons dogma
If you already expected it to be shit, why play it?
Sometimes you just have to find out for yourself.
I've been surprised before. I thought helldiver's was going to be shit, but I'm having a blast with it

Because sometimes Ganker is wrong and you wanna find out for yourself

Starfield
Pokemon SS and SV
I have seen VN with more gameplay.
The story start good, quickly become boring, then become gringe.
Diablo 4
Elden Ring
Can't say I hated it but it's the only souls game I picked up and never beat. Open world and input reading was a huge turn off. Beat Astel and dropped.
The input reading is out of control. Really fricking kills what would have otherwise been a solid 9.5/10 game
palworld
Final fantasy series
BOTW. i expected a zelda game, instead i got empty assassin creed slop. its even funnier when you realize ac is just another slop in the genre but botw is the best game ever according to nintrannies. embarrassing
Payday 3.
I check in every day to see how badly the devs have put their foot in their mouths and it never disappoints.
Sonic 06
Gothic 3. I see some people praising it and want to give it a second chance but it was just so fricking horrible from the 1 hour I played
Totk
Fallout 76
Starfield
Diablo 4

Dark Souls
Pokemon Sw/Sh

Dishonored 2

I hate video games.
Darksiders 3
I knew they copied souls before playing but I expectet it to be bearable. Playing as a horseman of the apocalypse and being a cumrag for some little insects was so fricking lame. Shitty camera didnt help.
Kotor 2
That’s when you realize kotor was shit
It was buggy and the story wasn't as good but those are the only ways in which it didn't completely mog the first one. Obsidian also had to cut a ton of content even
Starfield
Starfield. It's a rare occurrence for me, I usually expect less than I get. Cyberpunk was better than I expected for example.
RE7. Shitty gore with boring puzzles.
FFXVI is the most recent. Never let MMO devs make a singleplaer game.

Hope you all like/don´t like this era of gayming being called a Dark Era for the not so distant future.
>...and there were a dozen AAA games I didn't like
>it was...the Dark Era....
autosage? wtf?
Pathlogic. It is so fricking boring.
RDR2
I knew i wouldnt like it since it was clearly a movie game but it turned out to be the most obnoxious self indulgent movie game that i have had the displeasure of experiencing.
BotW
FF7R
Monster Hunter World
Last Epoch
shadow warrior 3
Swtor
Kingdom Come Deliverance.
Ark survival evolved.
I truly believe you need a negative IQ to play and enjoy that """game"""
