Explain it to me,
What is it about this game that attracts large quantities of women? I'm not joking. I know more women who have played and beaten X than any other game in the series and a lot of time it's the only one they've played. It has a large amount of girls streaming it too.
What the frick gives? It's not even that good
FFX has the best love story in FF and overrall one of the best in all gaming.
People say the same thing about FFVII.
I'm asking about FFX specifically and what attracts women to it. I'm NOT asking for your blog. Frick off
>about FFVII.
FF7's love story is way too shallow and hard carried by shippers' headcanons.
Tifa and Cloud have pretty good romantic chemistry. Aerith and Cloud's dynamic is romantically tragic, women eat that shit up
Alright, if you're going to ask a question, at least have the decency to accept a response. You don't get to dictate how people answer your questions. And for the record, if you're genuinely curious about why women might enjoy FFX, maybe approach the topic with a bit more respect and openness instead of dismissing it. Just saying.
>"Why do so many women like FFX"
>"Well Ackshually, Women enjoy multiple games and your viewpoint is problematic an-"
dilate troon. i'm asking people why they think women are attracted to this singular entry in a franchise consisting of 16 games, double that if you're counting spin offs. go larp somewhere else
Alright, listen here.
You asked about FFX and why women are attracted to it specifically. The fact that women enjoy multiple games shouldn't diminish their interest in FFX. Your "Ackshually" comment and the use of derogatory terms like "dilate troon" are uncalled for and disrespectful.
Maybe women are drawn to FFX because of its compelling storyline, memorable characters, or unique gameplay mechanics. Just because it's one entry in a series doesn't mean it can't stand out for certain audiences.
If you're going to ask a question, at least be open to hearing different perspectives without resorting to insults. Maybe try engaging in a meaningful discussion instead of shutting people down.
Oh god, shut up already
You know what? If you don't want to hear what I have to say, then maybe don't ask questions in the first place. If you're going to be dismissive and rude, don't expect anyone to take you seriously. Maybe try showing a little respect next time.
You have not said anything as to why women love FFX specifically, as in the actual game. You probably haven't even played it. You will never be a real woman, leave
can i get a non bot answer what the frick is happening to this site
Tidus is a chad sports player with dumb confidence and never ending upbeat charm, but at the same time it's also a forbidden romance like twilight because he's not real. This basically unloads both barrels into the female desire for the perfect unattainable boyfriend. Yuna is not very special beyond simple a demure personality that evolves very gradually over the plot, a perfect vessel for women to self insert on.
men and women are not the same and do not enjoy the same things. it's not unreasonable to ask the question but it is unreasonable to assume everyone believes as you do. have a nice day posthaste, cringelord.
*8 stands in your path*
If X is one of the best love stories then VIII is one of the worst. Easily
I hope Trump deports you next year.
Yuna is the perfect character for them to live through vicariously. She's got just enough quirkiness for them to say "she's just like me". And Tidus is just quirky enough himself to be endearing rather than creepy. Helped by the fact he looks like a kpop star of course.
God, I wanted to argue with you but it's true. Romances are fricking shitshows in this industry.
>People say the same thing about FFVII.
That's been mostly built up from decades of fanfiction.
Get out of here, Lucas.
whats a movie with a good romance?
Can't say I've seen enough romantic movies to have a proper opinion. Watching Bogart and Bacall on screen together is always a delight though.
The remakes practically feed on those decades of fanfiction. Original game Cloud spend half the game being an arsehole and the other half going crazy.
Locke/Celes were sort of a thing in 6 too.
>The remakes practically feed on those decades of fanfiction. Original game Cloud spend half the game being an arsehole and the other half going crazy.
^this, FF7's romance is almost none existence, all the "romance" comes from shippers pairing up their favorites.
Rebirth tries to add more to it but still it is quite shallow, and shippers will take the smallest thing and write a romance novel out it.
>Cloud stands next to tifa/aerith
omg Cloud is so much love, look how he stand next to her1!!!!!1!!!!!!!!
Your Name
A Silent Voice
When Harry met Sally
Moonstruck
A Star is Born (2018)
Some personal favorites
>Your name
>a silent voice
lmao you must be joking. Please tell me you're joking.
No, homosexual
They're good romance stories.
?si=ua-j3WlL_iWRXiDg
There's ton of stuff in game for VIIfujos to eat up if they're into romance, the golden saucer scenes alone are more than a lot of FF games get in that regard to this day. Remake only triples down on shipping frickery and gives them all double the interaction and personality.
I'd put 7 and 10 neck and neck with each other, with probably 4 and 9 following shortly after. I think everyone in 6 that wasn't Edgar and Cyan were asexual or something
It's true. Yuna and Tidus are normie as frick, even though they are supposed to be Chad and Stacey they don't really come across that way, and the relationship development is actually pretty genuine.
FBPB. I have made almost all women I slept with play FFX and they've all loved it.
Alright, listen up.
First off, it's pretty condescending to act like there's some mystery to why women might enjoy a game. Secondly, your assumption that a game's quality is solely determined by its male audience is seriously flawed.
Maybe women are attracted to the game for the same reasons anyone else is: compelling storyline, engaging gameplay, or maybe it just resonates with them personally. Just because you don't see its appeal doesn't mean it's not good.
Instead of questioning why women enjoy it, maybe you should try to understand it yourself or respect their choices. And by the way, there are plenty of women who are hardcore gamers and have been for years. So, maybe it's time to drop the outdated stereotypes and broaden your perspective.
Women love romance stories.
Especially with hetero man. So sad how they pretend otherwise just to gain social accpetance. No wonder they're so fragile right now.
>Women love romance stories.
Like 10% of the game is dedicated to the "romance" between TideUS and Yuna
No they don't. MEN love romance, men crave romance.
Women, are materialistic hedonists that care about power, status, money.
In my entire life I've never seen a single woman that values romance more than materialism.
Probably because the two main characters look like barbie dolls and have a romantic interest in each other? I'm more-so curious as to why you're wondering this, it's like the most basic formula that women like. ALSO, you saying it's the only one that gets this kind of attraction is just plain untrue, 8 and 7 get this kind of treatment all the time. If you were around the internet in the early 2000's you'd see so many youtube fan music videos about final fantasy characters.
7 I agree with, I knew one girl who liked 8 but she only liked Rinoa.
>because the two main characters look like barbie dolls
they look like regular asian people.
>it's like the most basic formula that women like.
what formula? a lot of the game is tidus wondering what the frick happening.
>I'm more-so curious as to why you're wondering this
women have weird taste in games and im trying to figure out why.
You're reading too much into it. The formula is: Pretty characters liking each other. It's literally in the image of your post: Woman crying at Tidus and Yuna.
You need more, you need that ability to self insert because women aren't interested in jack shit unless they can make it about them.
This is how Twilight got so huge, Bella is the perfect "she's just like me" character.
It's a wonder the Tales series isn't more popular with women if that's really true. On top of being very character driven all of them usually have decent to large romance subplots
but I guess Final Fantasy being less anime helps.
>Tales
I can already tell you why, it's not nearly as advertised or lucky as final fantasy got. Like you said it's also super anime-like, so it does not help its case.
The romance in tales games is pretty bad. You're lucky if there's a kiss and it's usually at the end of the game.
The "will they or won't they" dynamic is good and even if they don't kiss until the end there is usually a great scene with the couples affirming or acknowledging each others feelings. The worst ones do blueball you though, Xillia being a good example. 2 games and not even a kiss? have a nice day Namdai.
Yeah I guess. At least we got the nice scene in jude episode 5.
>women
Black person its about a dumb kid learning about teenage love, what it means to be a man and how self sacrifice is sometimes needed if you love someone as well as facing your problems directly and not running away(shit dad).
What about that is appealing to women?
>effeminate protagonist
>romance
>gameplay requires no skill whatsover except pressing through menus
I don't know anon, you tell me
>effeminate protagonist
In what world is Tidus effeminate?
lmao
It's the Titanic of vidya.
>surprised woman are attracted to the most fempozzed jrpg (aka having a female mc that isnt stoic like lightning)
shocking
>Twink protagonist
>Easy gameplay
>Great graphics (for the time, anyway)
>Romance
These four combine together to make the perfect womanbait game. Just look at BG3 now
>Love story
>Male protagonist, but 100% focus on the female character
>female character is not the leader of the group
>female character is the center of male attention for multiple men
>female character is lowkey the strongest
>female character has the unconditional support of all female characters who are never truly a threat to her love interest
>female character, above all else, achieves all those with and through femininity, not by aping masculinity
>male protagonist suffers humiliation ritual by having to work through daddy issues, which is a distinctly female mental trauma
>male protagonist dies
>female protagonist gets forced into marriage and kissraped by a giant evil man with his breasts out
>hetorchromia
why wouldn't it be?
It hits all the critical checkmarks
Also the other female characters are better (appearance, intelligence, personality, hobbies) and yet Yuna the plain girl is the most valued
Yuna isn't plain, she's the symbolic representation of two races and the daughter of the savior of the world. Just because you jerked off to Lulu more doesn't mean she's a better character
Plus she summons giant monsters, is the most powerful mage of the party, has the strength to sacrifice herself and take a stand against an organized religion and gods
I personally like Rikku the best but Yuna is a great, complex character. the only actual self- insert is Tidus, and that at least makes sense because he's who you control and he is actually isekai'd into Spira so he has to be relatable to some degree but even he is more than he lets on.
>self- insert is Tidus
You mean an idol looking sports star that has a very weird relationship with his father
Every cast member has a fault which directly ties to Spira's cycle and why it hasn't been broken. Yuna is self-sacrificing to the point of marrying the villain in order to make people happy. Auron follows the rules to the point of allowing that marriage, as it is the summoner's privilege. Wakka doesn't question what he's told, although pretty much no one does. Rikku lacks resourcefulness.
Tidus is presented as childish at first, but actually has some agency and the ability to question things and rebel against authority and norms.
Everyone except Tidus is too depressed or otherwise unable to save the world.
Also Tidus having been a celebrity blitz player, he can see the hollow worship of summoners and prayers that are in fact old blitzball gestures
Holy shit I never even realized this until now, good posts anon
Yuna is special because of typical JRPG destiny stuff, but she's definitely plain. Lulu is the smart one that knows about the world and also serves as the voice of reason. Rikku is fun(ny) and energetic, but she also plays with robots and explosives and has the whole 'despised race' thing going on. Yuna's trait is that she's normal girl dealing with the world around her in a way that is relatable to other normal humans playing the game. Yeah, she gets nice character development and is a strong person and blahblahblah, but she's still the plain one compared to the other party members, male and female.
because women have shit taste
Because despite it being over 20 years old it has the best written women characters in JRPG history and even they don't know how the frick they did it since they've only failed spectacularly since.
Yuna manages to be pretty and plain at the same time but she has just enough lore that she's special.
Lulu is the perfect distant but bad ass hotgirl type with a somewhat sad backstory.
Rikku is cute and loveable but at the same time as an amazing amount of depth to her and she gets some of the best lines in the game. She's taken seriously despite being cute.
Of couse, the Tidus and Yuna romance is the icing on the cake.
>great characters
>great story
>great visuals
>great music
>great non-autistic gameplay
It's just a pleasant and emotional game
Because romance turns on women. Were you born yesterday?
You were probably born yesterday.
It isn't that simple.
It literally is. You're fricking naive if you think otherwise.
Proof?
>What the frick gives? It's not even that good
It's the best FF.
>lies to a man
>leads him on
>that man still saves her
Gee willikers anon, I wonder why.
good story
best romance in FF
easy to play
beautiful music
hot protag
my sister loved it, but she wasn't like that girl in the pic. i bought a used strategy guide for 2.99 and she got 100% completion. even content young girls they see themselves as yuna who is trapped away
It's the gayest one. It's also why Ganker loves it so much. Buncha gaybois doing gay shit with an awful love story between two moronic teenagers.
>Characters are relatable and not obnoxious
>Most developments are foreshadowed
>No misunderstanding drama, just pure love story with a sad ending
>They actually spent a lot of time interacting and get to know each other
>That under water scene is still one of the best romance scene in video games
Jesus Christ. Did Ganker play this game at 12 or are you all gay as hell?
I played it when I was 8 and I've had more sex than you, guaranteed.
Game came out in 2000 anon. Did you just admit that you are a zoomer?
The characters are interesting, visually attractive and the game is simple to play.
In comparison, FFVIII is focused between Squall and Rinoa but everything else is empty, the other characters only exist to be a background for the two of them, besides the real love story is between Laguna and Raine and this is only made explicit in the final CG.
Yuna and Tidus is much more direct, and all the other characters have their importance in the story, in addition to having a tragic ending.
And especially the music, FFX has one of the best OSTs in games.
Squall and Rinoa falling in love feels more like a plot point than a natural progression of the characters.
That's why I consider the true love story of 8 to be Laguna and Raine's.
But... they are not even the main characters of the game, their relationship appears only through flashback.
Squall and Rinoa were created to be the perfect couple, but it's difficult to impose perfection when everything else is empty, everyone else exists just for the two of them to stand out.
Because Auron is the father they always wanted but never had.
Women can't handle losing in a video game, you can't lose in a turn based game, FFX is probably the most pedestrian turn based game there is. Ergo.
>you can't lose in a turn based game, FFX is probably the most pedestrian turn based game there is.
Dude didn't even play FFX lmao
Because it has all the quality of the previous psx titles with voice acting so they don't have to read
>easy to get into with the “narrator is the player” scheme
>best paced game in the series with just enough twists and turns to keep you interested
>simple but deep combat system
>amazing music
>stream lined story and maps means the player can just keep chugging on
>likable and recognizable main cast, each with their own quirks and characters
>one of the best romance narrative in gaming history
>graphics still holds up
It’s the perfect game to get into the series
It's babby's first shoujo, that's why. It's literally only new and revolutionary to braindead dudebros, it isn't new to women but it's tried and true for that particular demographic so it doesn't matter anyway. Also have a nice day OP.
>t. anime coomer
You don't know anything, frick off
>no argument
>he came back just to post another anime gif
No point in arguing with a deranged attention prostitute. Go back to Ganker
>thinks of using anime as a insult and as a dismissive remark
>on a discussion of a game from anime land
>on a franchise that keep getting more and more anime on most releases
>still no argument
Oh look, it's another "Ganker pretends only girls care about romance" episode. Answer me this, Ganker: if boys don't care about romance in video games, why are there so many Final Fantasy VII threads with Tifa and Aerithgays at each others throats?
>seething roastie
No one ever said only girls care about romance, it's just a question of why this particular FF game(10) attracts so many women but generally, yes, romance is only a huge selling point for girls and gays.
>why do so many women like a soap opera story intended for preteen girls
It is an incredible mystery, OP.
Game is intended for teenage boys to men. Stop being rude
>another square-slopper thread
Grim.
