Right is what left would look like without any makeup on and without any photography techniques at play. When you scan someone's face and put it into a video game, all you're getting are the raw physical features with zero coping mechanisms since makeup artists don't really exist in the video game industry (yet).

I find these games fun to play, they're probably the zenith of "Ubisoft open world." If you don't like the gameplay you've probably gotten burned out on that genre, but if you only want to play one game like it, play Horizon or BoTW if you want a Japanese take on the genre
