Explain to me why it's considered 'cheating' for me to click the drop down arrow and change 'stat nature' to what I want when it is the exact same thing as running around on a janky game looking for sparkles on the map and hoping one is a mint, which takes literally no effort, not even winning battles to save up for items.

Because you're generating it on an external program to inject into the game. Yes it is cheating, do you gain an advantage? No. But to deny it is beyond moronic, no one gives a shit. Do what you want.

when you change the nature in this way the program usually gives it an impossible PID or worse, does not change it. the PID ties nature, shininess, IVs and ability all together into one deterministic hash which PkheX does not generate properly.

Can't you buy nature mints from the store?

He's talking about the stat nature, not the base nature. That said, PkHex will generate a legal PID for whatever the current nature + IVs + shininess is when you hit Reroll.

The same reason it's illegal to set your World of Warcraft character to level 100 with top-tier armor. It takes no effort and doesn't give you an advantage over people who spent the time collecting the armor, but it's not how the game is played.

The problem with this is that Game Freak just loves to make games where it's literally impossible to get items or certain moves on certain mons without cheating once the distribution event ends. That alone makes any and all cheating okay in my book.

    You buy mints now, anon.
    And not with BP either.

This gen is pretty much the only gen where injection isn't defensible.

Event moves aren't even a thing any more. I think Game Freak got tired of trying to keep track of how many goofy one-offs they've made over the years and just cut it off at the root.

because you can just hack in the mint and the Pokemon wouldn't be hacked. Hack smarter, not harder
