It's out of character and his death is obviously forced, riding on the subversion trend that got popularized by Game of Thrones and Walking Dead by brutally killing loved characters
>subverting your expectations meme
RLM are brainlets that improv all their talking points. Subverting audience expectation is the epitome of good sequel writing, the problem with the homosexual wars shit was that it did nothing good beyond subverting expectations.
>Subverting audience expectation is the epitome of good sequel writing
No it's not. Good writing is a pure expression of ideas. Trying to match, subvert, or otherwise pandering to the expectations of an audience is nothing more than soulless drivel. Kys
I have no idea what RLM is homosexual, also "subverting expectations" is not really subverting a anything when the biggest tv shows and movies are are already doing the same shit (killing mc's, loved characters etc) when we say "subverting" it's a joke, since we see it coming and it's not really subverting anything, now go fricking have a nice day Black person
You’re already playing a game for mentally ill people, we do t need to explain shit. It’s like raping a baby then going “tell me why I shouldn’t have raped that baby without sounding mentally ill”
It's an analogy for white genocide. The white male leader being killed by a representative of globohomosexual (in this case, a bull dyke), and the israelite (Druckman) behind everything.
You will call me a schizo for this, but I know that one of the reasons he had to die was because "frick white men". Same reason why they turned Luke Skywalker into a homosexual.
>forced diversity
TLOU had an openly gay man, Marlene, and two black brothers as supporting characters. It’s arguably just as diverse as TLOU2. You either literally didn’t play the game or your nostalgia goggles/hate for part 2 is blinding you.
literally every other person in Jackson isn't white, it's fricking absurd. Just because the original also had forced diversity doesn't mean the sequel doesn't have the same issue.
"subversion trend"
No one widely framed poor deviations from established characters as "subverting" until their bullshit caught on. >No one mentioned RLM
I barely did either, every point still stands.
>pure expression of ideas
How are you supposed to achieve this if you're beholden to some preset idea of who a paper thin character like Luke should be? The point isn't to intentionally subvert, it's just a byproduct of the highest tier of creative writing, which is exactly what you say it is.
>muh forced diversity again
Dude the characters in these games are literally just people. Some of them happen to be of difference races and sexual preferences. There’s no overt SJW themes or political propaganda in them(except maybe the trans subplot). It in no way takes anything out of the game. If you’re that insecure that the sight of someone who isn’t exactly like you ruins the game, that’s your own problem and you should do some soul searching. SJWs can be annoying but we’ve been playing games with all types of races for fricking years. Feigning outrage over this shit just to get back at the libs is pathetic. This forced diversity meme is way overblown by you /misc/ schizos.
>They’re STILL seething over this game
Yeah, it’s a masterpiece. Thank god for Druckmann. I’m happy that someone in the industry is making bold, provocative stories that challenge the audience. Not just fan service and “happy endings” that cater to emotionally immature manchildren.
Ah yes, here come the typical “I want my video games to have comic book movie tier storylines, themes, and emotions. ” homosexuals. Video games should never tackle anything uncomfortable or have consequences.
His death is one of the better things about the story, to be honest.
People focus on it because its a big thing that happened in the story, but there are so many worse things about the games story in reality.
Should've given the normies who likes this piece of shit series what they wanted, have the father figure die in a blaze of glory to protect his daughteru, who then goes to take vengeance in his name
But cuckman is a snoy cuck
And yes even the first game was just a generic zombie shit
It was intentionally made as brutal and embarrassing for him as possible in order to enrage the player, and the entirety of the story is built on this, and then the climax fizzles out. Ultimately, his death doesn't amount to anything or make any forward progress in the story. He never comes to terms with Ellie about her not getting her brain removed and that's just hanging forever. They could have made TLOU2 about that, but they didn't because it was more important to them that they had shock value.
Honestly, if they wanted to shock you or push the BE SAD or make a story about loss, it would have been more ballsy to kill off Ellie. You could really explore the grief he had over his daughter and depict a man with a real deathwish.

what's the difference between how he behaved in 2 to get himself killed and how be behaved towards the nogs in 1?
No one mentioned RLM

How about instead of subverting my exceptions they exceed them?
>Subverting audience expectation is the epitome of good sequel writing
Not when they focus more on subverting expectations than actually writing a story.

OP said WITHOUT sounding like a schizo
You will call me a schizo for this, but I know that one of the reasons he had to die was because "frick white men". Same reason why they turned Luke Skywalker into a homosexual.
People should be more pissed about the comically forced diversity. Joel's death was fine.
I take this back. There's merit to this
The death itself isn't the problem, it's more the real real-world politics that clearly inspired them to do it.

Also I'd give TLOU a 5 and 2 an 8 you dumb troony

His death made no sense.

TLOU2 doesn't even escape marvel tier dramatic writing.
and It's infinitely better than the original before you cry pol
>schitzo babble
please elaborate
Comic books are better written than TLOU2. They know what they want to be.
His death is one of the better things about the story, to be honest.

Saw it coming a mile away. Keeping him alive would be MORE subversive
Is TLOU2 just Silent Hill 3 for zoomers?
Why didn't Jesse quick peek or Ferraripeek?
It's not organic at all and it happens in a flashback.
did it actually happen in a flashback?
