I've made about 3 rpgmaker games that use custome character sprites with custom tiles(I usually recolour base ones or other custome free ones) and most of them are a decent length of 25-30 minutes
but everytime I think of uploading them for free I immediatley get the fear that people will think my games are probably dogshit boring trash and I'll no longer like them myself anymore
so I just keep them in my little vault for no one in public to ever see
You know if they just made a modern type RPG Maker that based its default gameplay on, say, Final Fantasy 7, instead of friggin Dragon Warrior 1 of all games, it would actually be a decent idea.
Should I make my prototype in RPGMAKER to test the game flow and stories before I move own to UE5 to make my own Otcopath Traveler inspired JRPG?
All should I just all-in UE5 from the start?
Fear & Hunger 2 is the best game I've played this year so far so yeah, pretty much this, but unironically. Coffin is very good too, although it is barely a game.

I like RPGM, it's actually fun to use with plugins.
Actually made a fully "playable" game, but never completed it beyond the main quest.
RPGMaker games are based, even the ones with combat. Or if nothing else, it provides a medium that many unique ideas can have a chance in.
