There's no mistranslation. The same word used for Bounty Hunter for Falcon is also used for Samus, and the Metroid 1 manual described how the bounty hunting profession worked in Metroid (people were called on to catch Space Pirates for money). Retro's narrative that Nintendo "didn't know" never made sense, it's more likely that there's some mandate to not make Samus look too greedy like Boba Fett.

Like on one hand I get it but on the other hand surely the F-Zero market is completely divorced from the Mario Kart audience or at the very least there’s a good contingent of MK players that like racing games and would gladly buy a second one. Like I haven’t bought a Mario Kart game since MK DS because I’ve lost interest in the franchise but I’d buy a new F-Zero game on release day
I was about to call BS but I legitimately can’t think of any new Nintendo published games during the Switch’s lifespan that cross over genre-wise. Feels like they just want to have one and done entries for each genre and let them be evergreen.

I'd like a new F-Zero to use either the wheel bumpers or analog triggers on a next gen controller to change the tilt of your vehicle. By controlling how far you tilt left or right you have more control over how short or wide your turns are. Tilting also shifts you left or right. Also by flicking the wheels you can bump other racers side to side to take them out. Plus while launching off of ramps you can do tricks by tilting which rewards you with a speed boost. You gotta watch your shields because you could crash land and explode. There's Knockout Race as usual along with Time Trial. There's a Stunt Rally mode that rewards points and you have to hit the point limit fast to win. Crash Dirby is a battle mode with last man standing, capture the flag, and coin runner modes where you destroy your opponents in an arena to win.

How well do you think lighting will be on next gen hardware? I love me some dark space city asthetics with holograms and neon-lights. I'd also love racing in lower orbit with space junk everywhere. If you could go underwater in Big Blue, even if its just a tunnel, then that'd also be fun. A Martian desert, active volcano planet, and even a highway over greenhouses and farmland be great tracks.
I'd like a new F-Zero since 3DS. I'm hopeful for next gen hardware be the innovation Nintendo needs. Switch isn't that much of an upgrade from Wii u. Which Wii u was gimped due to always rendering the gamepad screen. Also it would be funny if F-Zero and Mario Kart 9 wound up using the same game engine. Assuming its made in house.

There might have been but it was more speculation than a rumor. F-Zero could be tge competitive racer while Mario Kart could be tge party game. Except now Mario Kart is the competitive racer and party game combined.

I played F-Zero on SNES. I want a racing game, not a brawler. If you want brawling then have vehicles crash into each other.
