Fact: Since both the parties in Kingmaker and WOTR can reach level 20, they can easily beat the characters in BG3. The Baron and Knight-Commander can easily kill Tav like a mook. WOTR Knight-Commander with full mythic power could probably beat Vlaakith CLVII too.

The brothel and crusade are both trash content tho.
The crusade as a setting is kino. The crusade as in the minigame gets turned off.
Kingmaker is much better in making you feel the progress because of the time scale and the long raising of stakes.
BG3 and WOTR should both be power fantasies from the start story wise but I agree WOTR is much better at making you feel powerful. The companions in BG3 start as complete jobbers despite having established epic backgrounds.
I just cheat engine a massive army and unlimited move points and call it a day.
>The companions in BG3 start as complete jobbers despite having established epic backgrounds.
don't get me started anon.
>gale a wizard who fricked a goddess of magic
>lvl 1
>Wyll, Warlock who used to summon demons and shit for fun
>lvl 1
to be fair, I think it is either Wyll or Gale, Heavily implies that the mind flayer tadpoles are heavily fricking with their abilities
like Gale is heavilly confused at how he struggle and failed to use the fast travel portals, and Wyll says something about how he can't do as much since he got the parasite put in his brain
That's a lazy excuse and begs the question how epic heroes got trapped by some random mind flayers.
Failed their save roll against Hold Person or something I dunno.
>Failed their save roll against Hold Person
God I hate 5e for preventing saving throw maxxing. Having advantage means that I get to roll 3 twice in a row and get to watch shadowheart get raped by wolves multiple times a day. Fricking 5e.
>get to watch shadowheart get raped by wolves multiple times a day
5e sounds based
>forgot how to cast OP 8-9th spells because he got parasities in his brains
that's the most lazily written thing ever. how the frick did a a guy like Gale, a master wizard even get captured by those Octopus? just for reference a lvl 20 Wizard can just make an entire nation worship him as a god and yet somehow low level mind flayers captured him.
I'm pretty sure Gale got completely fricked after he got the orb lodged inside of him. He even tells you that it drained his abilities even though he was a wizard prodigy.
>Wyll
Chased karlach into the ship, got memed on by a mind flayer during a struggle with karlach or whatever when shit exploded.
>Gale
Got nerfed by mystra for fricking around with netherese bullshit. Netherese orb drains his magic. Tadpole scrambled his brains.
They also level up very fast timewise. In a week tops theyre at level 5,6,7, 10. That level 1 is more of a temporary predictament than a bad excuse.
>probably
The commander is quite literally stronger than basically all demigods, probably my ass, he would
Both pathfinder games were boring as shit.
Their story is a slog and their characters blander
was based until you brought up moekekshalae
The commander can literally destroy all of them with Storms of Justice. Legend would just humiliate them all in just one attack
Why specifically did Arueshalae triggered you?
He's mindbroken by her, don't you browse Pathfinder threads?
>Breeding with a mythic good azata succubus and creating supreme mutts bad
>Having a one night stand with a space gecko that has a freaking cloaca and are so simped out to a lich b***h that even the males lay eggs on command so all of your genetic batter goes to waste good
>Generic humanoids good
Disgusting. The least you could do is creampie a githzerai. Too bad bg3 picked the Black person g*ths.
Pardon me for using food analogies, but pathfinder is like meat. It's a little tough and they killed some pig for it, but who cares?
BG3 is some laboratory meat. It's disgusting, no one sane wants to eat it but you have a bunch of morons praising it because it's science and all that.
>Owlcat literally tried to smuggle Spyware that scanned all data on your PC
Great fricking game
BG3 literally has spyware.
How the frick do you think they post data about class popularity and such?
>game collects data about your game activity
>game scans all data on your PC
Hmmm, Owlcat fans are pathetic shills
they removed it after complaints though, i don't see bg3 removing their spyware
>Level 4 "Epic Characters"
I might be autistic, but this modern attitude towards high levels being very taboo is getting really tiresome.
>modern
autists have been talking about it since the 3E days
Fact: youre a homosexual
I wish I could get in Pathfinder, I've tried multiple times but whenever I level up and get a zillion of options to choose from I just bounce off. It's a minmaxer's wet dream with how granular it gets but I just want to level up and see a stat increase and maybe one or two cool looking abilities.
Kineticist and Vivisectionist are both broken and you can just go to max level with either without ever branching. For companions just use auto leveller and you are fine.
>ask in PF threads if I can just let the computer level my companions
>they just lmao at me and say that the computer builds shit characters
I mean they aren't good but if you have trouble you should play on easy and those builds just do the job.
If you are playing above easy or normal and still keep the auto-level on then it's your own fault. Core requires some knowledge of how the game works otherwise you will create very gimped character
Just pick a class and go with it. Almost all are viable in WOTR on normal difficulty (except maybe something like defender of the true world) and you can respec if you don't like it later. Shit, pick a basic fighter, works just fine. Once you're in the game, just read the tooltips and you'll figure out how the systems work in no time and you can respec to whatever build strikes your fancy. Probably turn some of the difficulty options down your first time starting.
>bg3 doesnt have brothels
I am a pathfidner shill but come on man, there is literally a brothel in act 3
Low level and high level camapaigns both have their appeal.
You cant really compare them.
No shit the KC can kill anybody other than the actual gods in BG3 by himself since he is essentially a demigod. It just isnt a fair match up.
im not playing your gay ass shit either way, frick dnd and frick pathfinder
RETVRN TO GLORANTHA
in kingmaker you can reach around level 13 with a 6 man party by the end of the game, at least when i played it on release. with smaller party size the exp divided will result in higher level but idk what party can reach 20
>in kingmaker you can reach around level 13 with a 6 man party by the end of the game
How much shit did you skip, jesus
or was it 18? it certainly wasnt 20 like op is saying. but yea i skipped a lot of stuff because the end content was so bugged it was softlocking me every other event
Yes, 18 is more reasonable, in fact, at level 13 you would probably get killed
And you very much can get to level 20, you just need to do all side content and especially abuse some skill checks that give a shitton of exp
i beat the game on core that playthrough, though i took the early ending because the wild hunt dungeon was pretty much impossible. my main guy was rogue and i just stealthed my way through that shit lol
The Knight Commander can literally ascend to godhood so it's true the power gap is huge but
>BG3 HP bloat
come on bro, WOTR is worse for that, although you get more tools to deal with it.
There is a brothel in bg3 dipshit.
Reminder that the commander could very easily kill Zariel and solve all of Karlach's problems
>Environment Abyss
>Alignment Lawful Evil
Those are two different blocks anon
Please use your eyes
Why did i become a Black guy?
Damnit Lindzi, I ain't giving you no tree fitty!
I want to lick Linzi feet
100h and am finaly king!
congrats anon
I'm ~50 hours in and some guy is asking me to find his lost brother so I'm wandering around the wilderness around Varnhold.
The brother is in a pointless spot very close to varnhold. You might not be able to go there yet, but don't go far away from Varnhold when you can.
You can also find a letter someplace else. Be sure to tell the guy about the letter before telling him about his brother though, for more exp.
Just kind of going up and down the border right now. Everytime I get close to Varnhold I just get thrown into the town or told to frick off.
you have to wait for an event to trigger, use that time to lvl up and finish other quests
I was afraid of that. I guess I'll just skip some days. So far I've cleared all the areas I can access so it's either that or going into the Tenebrous Depths some more.
lvl up the money guy that will skip 2 weeks
heh nothing personnel kid..
UwU whats this?
https://www.nexusmods.com/pathfinderkingmaker/mods/36
Heard a lot of complaints about how shitty the kingdom management was in this game and so far I've had to skip a few days just to progress because it's been pretty painless. I'm actually kind of enjoying it.
It gets old. There's weird difficulty spikes. There's huge gaps where nothing happens later on. City building is a meme and has zero impact beyond the buildings that give bonuses to problem solving. These buildings are mostly locked behind specific alignments.
I like some of the land benefits. Just got one where I'm immune to poison in any land I control which is cool. Feels like most will just make delving into the depths easier.
I never did the depths thing (that's dlc, right?) and I never got any of those blnuses since they felt like cheating.
Yeah its DLC. You get some cool stuff that I assume would be comparable to stuff you get later on. I've had to come back a few times as when I tried it right when I unlocked it, I got buttfricked by weretigers.
I don't mind if stuff feels like cheating because I really suck at this game. Having a ton of fun though.
that figth with the serpant is whack I am tell yiu
I ended up more cautious with quick saving because I found some cave near a bridge and there was a huge fricking dragon in it that just vaporized me in a second with acid or some shit. I wrote down a reminder to try that guy again later.
You can easily stealth past him and grab the hat of holding he's hiding. Worth it, even if it's ugly.
I'll do that then, thanks. Got Nok-Nok and the little shit is a stealth master right now.
Nok-nok is easily the best party member.
Ridiculous nuke damage. Best trickery. Doesn't need many feats so yoy can invest more into feats that give more trickery and perception. He's also very endearing, a little guy trying his best to be more than he really is. I love the little fella.
Good. Game's pretty fun, but I can't get back to it because WotR fixes so much shit gameplay wise. Just being able to see what's gated by each feat you can pick is a gamechanger
teleportarion
make sure to find him before you look for anyone else that is missing
thanks
you sly dog
>pf1e
>good
I mean I guess 5e is way worse
All I know is Pathinder fans seem to seethe about BG3 24/7 and BG3 fans don't pay Pathfinder too much attention so I'm going to have to give the W to BG3.
Ive seen both of them seethe at each other idk how you would only see one
It depends on which universes rules you use, for Pathfinder 100% Tav loses, but in D&D the Baron and Knight-Commander would be knocked down to much weaker levels.
Pathfinder and DnD are the same thing, and each campaign is written with a power level in mind
In WotR you literally eat demigods for breakfast
unrelated question but should i keep the underwear on or not?
The characters have barbie doll anatomy
I didn't even know you could take underwear off in pathfinder
You can't, you need visual adjustments 2
Oh I see, thanks. Pretty good Arue outfit though
She also wears loose dancer underwear
You can with mods but as this pervious anon said they all have barbie doll anatomy
Woah rude...
Based Akaia. Amiri should have known her place and become my Barbarian wife and gave me strong children
There are no good adaptations of tabletop RPGs, save for VTMR and B. All of them end up being restrained by the shitty dice frickery and outdated rules invented half a century ago.
If there's one thing I hope happens with BG3's success, it's that we finally get sexy women in videogames again
I hope owlcat are taking notes and adding sex and naked to their upcoming coomer games
Their new game is Rogue Trader and WH40K seems pretty sexless to me, yeah yeah Slaaneesh or whatever but you get my point
They seem to be gunning for the weeb nerd audience considering how they are pushing the fish princess
Nerds grow up, nerds want to frick things from their childhood, what else is new
I hate this new DnD push that DnD should just be sex sex sex. I feel like it became popular with Critical Role shit when DnD is now trying to just be more comedic with people constantly spamming "I ROLL TO HAVE SEX WITH THAT THING. I ROLL TO FRICK THAT THING". I hate it.
Literally why do you care? Owlcat isn't Larian, their models look like shit because they're low budget unity crpgs
Yeah probably
but BG3 is still the vastly better game
>Completed Arue ascension
>her Criminal Aura disappears
It's time to go full Lawtist now!
Why wear underwear? Aeons have no dick
>Aeon have no dick
>yet can still frick someibe and make them fall in love with them
Lichbros..... the Alien X lookin" homie is better than us.
My love of build autism aside both systems have pros and cons
>1E
You spend half the game doing 10,000 prebuffs just to walk in and nova the boss in a single round
Glorious glorious build autism
>5E
Tying ASI to feats means many characters take at least two ASI feats so to not feel so bad most feats are shit.
The conc system means you no longer have to worry about bufftism.
What's the recommended alignment for a fun WotR playthrough? I'm working my way through Kingmaker right now as a Fighter and wanted to do a Chaotic Good playthrough but so far I just haven't really even gotten any options relating to it. It really feels like the game either wants me to be evil or Lawful Good.
Does WotR do a similar thing?
WOTR ties your alignment to your Mythic Path, so just pick whatever path fits your desired alignment
Sounds cool. So is that a unique story or is just basically picking a path through the story? Will I get a lot out of playing through multiple paths in different playthroughs? Or I assume the lawful good path will be similar to the neutral good path
it's mostly the same story, mythic path really just changes a few key moments and they all have their own unique questline
the same story. You only get to choose your mythic path during the end of Act 2. All of them add their own unique quest in act 3, 4 and 5.
Each alignment for each path, hell, the NG path isn't even obtainable until act 5, the last one in the game
You CAN play a NG angel which is supposed to be LG though, just like how you can play a CN demon which is supposed to be CE, but once you commit to the path in act 5 the narrative WILL make you 100% evil no matter what
Wotr has different paths for each alignment. Angel is LG, Azata is CG and Aeon is for the supreme LN autist. so pick what alignment you want and pick the appropriate pah
I don't care about power levels, the dialog options in WOTR were so retarted I stopped playing the game. Every single option was an entire fricking essay where the protag says the most generic understand of each moral aligment, it was so fricking weird and boring. Baldur's Gate 3 might be moronly reddit occasionally, but most of the time the options are pretty fun and the party is decently shady.
>both games are derived from 3.pf
are both full of useless trap options?
Wrath doesn't have trap options though.
Defender of the True World and Assassin are absolutely trap options
REEEEEEEEEEEE
this is why you use a take-20 out of combat mod
Is that just something that makes it so I can't fail any non-combat checks?
Yeah but what people should be doing is take 10 since that's the irl out of combat skill check action with take 20 being the spend 5 minutes getting everything right and going through your personal notes option.
Both tell you exactly what they do and the in game codex tells you it won't work.
BG3 > Kingmager >>>>>>> WoTR.
WoTR is dogshit solely because it isn't an rpg, it's shounen anime disguised as a pathfinder game. The game just oozes dbz Hispanic vibes.
Let me guess, you "cringe" when mythic power kicks in and you beat the shit out of Minagho
Typical Lariangay
Mythic Power cutting off when you go back inside the citadel ruins the entire game
The cringe starts from the very beginning with the appearance of deskari and his "nothin personell, kid"-tier speech as he instagibs terendelev out of nowhere.
I enjoyed playing both games
Rampant brand tribalism is the same smooth brained behavior from the types of people that would participate unironically in console war threads.
Being an idort is based.
Being a video game enjoyer is based.
I enjoyed Pathfinder more, BG3 gets a bit boring when you notice that most choices are meaningless.
>Pathfinderkeks still seething at Larian
Hilarious
I don't like BG3 but both Pathfinder games were ass and 40k will be full ass based on my 2 hours with the dogshit beta
>barrelmancy
kek
wotr is clearly better but kingmaker is better than wotr
i started to play Kingmaker but dropped it when I found out the true ending is locked behind doing a particular romance
I want to romance my tiefling wives not the green chick, but i also don't want a non-canon ending
there will never be a follow up game, just do what you want and cum in twins
I enjoyed both games
>B-BUT YOU HAVE TO TAKE SIDES!!!
No
>500+ combined hours in Wrath of the Righteous and Kingmaker
>Nearly 100 in Baldur's Gate 3 at this point
>Enjoy both immensely
>Told to pick one or the other
What is the point of these threads?
It stirs up discussion I guess. I wish in BG3 we could get a companion as based as Regill, well Minthara is good but still, BG3 needs some more evil companions
Minthara would be cool if she wasn't fricking broken right now
Yeah, she still has some great dialogue but I wish she had a proper quest or romance
Vs Battles was a travesty for internet fandoms.
One of those Wild Wild West mecha spiders could probably solo half of 5e content
>Want to play a Stone Mystery Oracle
>Highest level Acid Spell is Caustic Eruption
>No way to convert other damage types to Acid
>Main appeal of the mystery is getting to trip people when you crit with touch spells
>Only acid touch spell on the oracle list is corrosive touch
Why can't these things synergize properly. Free Empowered on Acid spells is useless if I just take ascendant Fire for Hellfire ray spam and I may as well take a Loremaster level to grab another good spell but then I'd lose my free Pounce for going Battle Revelation as a second spirit (free trip and improved trip without taking combat expertise). I could make it work by going Legend but then I'm losing Azata Zippy ray spam.
I don't know for sure but I bet Earth Elemental bloodline gives Acid conversion so rev up that Crossblooded dip
Unfortunately then I'm still losing the 20th level of Oracle and not getting the free Empower boost.
yeah but you get bloodline stacking in exchange
You know what it'd probably work better to just go for 20 in Oracle and grab the warhammer that makes enemies vulnerable to bludgeoning then use the boots that make your next spell quickened on demon kill to annihilate everything with zippy maximized clashing rocks for 240 damage.
Well duh. Even if BG party rolled nothing but crit 20`s they wouldn`t be able to touch a lvl 20 knight commander with mythic powers, heck, they would all die against Valerie with that cheat damage aura necklace over time.
That said BG3 and DoS2 are both fantastic games with lots of interesting mechanics to circumvent traditional encounters and reach unconventional solutions.
>single summon limit
You didn't play the game homosexual
>homm3 style crusade
Maybe I want to play this game. But I suppose what I actually want is to play more homm3
Multiclassing seems cool.
I wish I wasn't a moron. Literally don't know where to even begin if I wanted to figure out an actual build. People saying WotR is easier to build stuff than Kingmaker is?
Well you can actually see feat requirements so thats an improvement
On the other hand there are a million more classes so you're going to be even more overwhelmed
>Muh I enjoy both
It just means you have a very low standards and can play anything.
While bg3 has its upsides there are a couple things that make it borderline unplayable.
you say that like Pathfinder doesn't have a bunch of things that make it borderline unplayable
Pathfinder has problems but they don't make game unplayable.
Kingmaker was unplayable on release and that's it.
BG3 towards the end was almost unbearable. I don't know why the frick larian thought making you watch every attack animation of every enemy was a good idea. It's just awful.
And that's just one of the problems.
lots of attack animations playing out isn't nearly as bad as some of the absolute worst dungeons any RPG developer has ever made
Those dungeons are fine outside some of the moronic Enigma puzzles and I'll take bad dungeons over no combat and empty crate sniffing any day
NOTHING in BG3 compares to how fricking awful House at the Edge of Time is. Exploring around and finding shit is what RPGs are supposed to be, not endless waves of terribly designed enemies for your overpowered party to slaughter.
yeah enjoy spending hours on finding your rotten tomatoes or whatever, meanwhile I'll have fun concluding the stories of my companions and fighting a guy made of worms while finding hidden areas with items critical for the secret ending that actually has choice and consequences behind it instead of "lmao Mindflayer now y/n"
I don't think you actually had fun spending 80 hours fighting the same 12-15 enemies
Yeah the complaint is definitely that you fight the Wild Hunt for the entirety of Kingmaker, gibbering moron
>clearly including both PF games in the conversation
>surely he's talking about Kingmaker and not the other game where you fight the same 12-15 enemies for the entire game
