Yes. Only fault I have with it is once you're stable there's nothing to do. Once your base is secure and you have a lot of food stocked up, that's it. It's a hard game early on, so it's plenty of fun for awhile, but then it just kinda fizzles out.
Its shit. Tv cuts off and your char goes loopy for dumb reasons

there are plenty of mediocre games where you can build yourself a nice cozy house with a few mods
7 Days to Die is great for this. 1.0 release happening next month too.

It's autistic but since rimworld has heat management, building well insulated 20°C houses in -30°C environment feels supremely comfy to me.
But you probably meant actually assembling wood pieces to build a real house to live in, and sadly I don't know any game like this.
Minecraft and Skyrim mods will probably feel too simplistic. Maybe Medieval engineers?
