Despite what people claim, it's actually REALLY accessible. It's one of those games that really live up to the idea of "easy to learn, difficult to master". It has an insane "skill" celling, which you can only reach if you have a bit of an autistic streak, but you don't NEED to do that shit, you can just play it casually and it works perfectly that way.
It's addictive as frick, because it has the ability to break most of it's problem solving into small, discrete steps. 99% of the time, you are doing small adjustments, solving small and fairly easy "puzzles" and the game really helps you with it.
I think its not that accessible, like playing without looking any other guides just to get a vague idea of the game will likely not work for most people.
It's actually very easy and approachable

My point was that the game offers different level of complexity and challenge for different type of players. More casual players can finish the game, without ever getting into logistics networks or logical circuits, and have a blast doing that, while more hardcore players can go far beyond that, especially with mods.
That is a good thing.
The rest of your posts is screeching and raving how you hate more casual players take away from your fake sense of importance and uniqueness and how the game needs to be protected from those people, even though that goes against the actual intended design of it.
Factorio is about being fun. Not about jerking off your fragile, pathetic ego. The "normies" aren't taking anything away from the game, as the developers never showed even a HINT of compromising their own design, and the complexity of the game can be extended to insane levels both by using vanilla features (complex logic circuity), as well as numerous mods.

Anyway presuming the OP hasn't bugged out by now, no you don't need autism, it probably helps? I've never been diagnosed but I enjoy Factorio for similar reasons that I enjoyed making bases in old RTS games.
You can solve problems as dumb or as smart as you want, my first base was a mess of spaghetti but it did eventually launch a rocket.

I don't think I'll ever do modular rail systems. Making railways is just too fun. It's basically an RTS turtling game combined with a game where you make your own train sets, only the trains actually serve a purpose.
When I'm laying track I try to match how real life train networks look. Only thing I'm missing is trains that can go in both directions.

But that's part of the fun.
so I think the right design is what you're after. takes 2 input lanes (of same material) and puts them in a single lane. the cool thing is that it takes from the input equally EVEN if you only use 1 side (like the left or right side) of the output belt, so you're always sure you take equally from both inputs.
disadvantage: it has a maximum throughput of 1 full belt (not 2!), but that's okay if your goal is to merge 2 into 1
the left design is one that takes 2 inputs of 2 different materials and turns it into 2 belts, each having both materials on a side. you can also use this for the purpose you're after (for same material) if you want more throughput, but it doesn't have that neat half-lane-balance property.

Despite what people claim, it's actually REALLY accessible. It's one of those games that really live up to the idea of "easy to learn, difficult to master". It has an insane "skill" celling, which you can only reach if you have a bit of an autistic streak, but you don't NEED to do that shit, you can just play it casually and it works perfectly that way.
It's addictive as frick, because it has the ability to break most of it's problem solving into small, discrete steps. 99% of the time, you are doing small adjustments, solving small and fairly easy "puzzles" and the game really helps you with it.
I think its not that accessible, like playing without looking any other guides just to get a vague idea of the game will likely not work for most people.

More casual players can finish the game, without ever getting into logistics networks or logical circuits, and have a blast doing that, while more hardcore players can go far beyond that, especially with mods.

The rest of your posts is screeching and raving how you hate more casual players take away from your fake sense of importance and uniqueness and how the game needs to be protected from those people, even though that goes against the actual intended design of it.
Factorio is about being fun. Not about jerking off your fragile, pathetic ego. The game price was increased in 2018. This price hike was accounced on the day of the game's Steam release, and was reaffirmed at every opportunity for the following four years.
The Russia price stunt happened in 2022, and was an obvious error, as the game was being repriced to 1000 rubbles, and someone accidentally pressed the 0 one more time than they should. Currently, Russians can buy the game for the equivalent of 15 euro - one half of what the rest of the world has to pay.
These two events aren't releated, relevant, and didn't harm anyone.

Anyway presuming the OP hasn't bugged out by now, no you don't need autism, it probably helps? I've never been diagnosed but I enjoy Factorio for similar reasons that I enjoyed making bases in old RTS games.
You can solve problems as dumb or as smart as you want, my first base was a mess of spaghetti but it did eventually launch a rocket.
ALSO don't be afraid of numbers. I didn't even start really considering things like ratios of production until like my third or fourth playthrough.

I don't think I'll ever do modular rail systems. Making railways is just too fun. It's basically an RTS turtling game combined with a game where you make your own train sets, only the trains actually serve a purpose.
When I'm laying track I try to match how real life train networks look. Only thing I'm missing is trains that can go in both directions.

and then i'd think "well all of that effort is avoided by just designing a functioning rail system beforehand" and that just makes a lot of sense

deconstruction planner filter on the merge splitters.
so I think the right design is what you're after. takes 2 input lanes (of same material) and puts them in a single lane. the cool thing is that it takes from the input equally EVEN if you only use 1 side (like the left or right side) of the output belt, so you're always sure you take equally from both inputs.
disadvantage: it has a maximum throughput of 1 full belt (not 2!), but that's okay if your goal is to merge 2 into 1
the left design is one that takes 2 inputs of 2 different materials and turns it into 2 belts, each having both materials on a side. you can also use this for the purpose you're after (for same material) if you want more throughput, but it doesn't have that neat half-lane-balance property.
