Why does so much of Falcom's stuff hold up better than other early Action RPGs? Smaller, more focused games? Higher production values?
I just tried Brain Lord, Lagoon, Soul Blazer, and they're all just super boring to me.

Brain Lord is sick.
The music and graphics in Falcom games from the 80s to mid-90s are extremely good - some of the best at the time. It's not as good now, but in the 80s and 90s they were pretty groundbreaking.
Absolute fabrication. You must be from the Falcom general.
I don't know what that is. Falcom was a major player in the 80s and early 90s. Ys, Dragon Slayer, Xanadu, Sorcerian - these were all pretty innovative and technically impressive games for their time. Ys 3 pushed the PC-88 to its absolute limits technically.
A lot of their SNES stuff was ported by other companies. But there are a few really solid tracks on the SNES.
Popful Mail is the only game for the SNES done in-house by Falcom. The music is excellent.
I definitely agree on the music. Those people really knew how to work that Yamaha chip.
I have to say, though, that their stuff on the SNES sounds almost cacophonic at times.
Jeez, I seriously the camera is Brandish was extremely annoying to me. I don't really think it held up that much better than other early action rpgs, sorry.
maybe play it for more than 3 minutes moron
It's still annoying Falcom shill. Go back

They have nice waifus.
Because you have bad taste.
I really like that you can choose different color palettes for the player character in Brandish. I don't know why that shit stuck out for me as a positive above all else. I don't think the remake had this bizarre and quaint little feature either.
>Brain Lord
>boring
ys is the only actually good action game they ever made, everything else is horribly stiff crap
Brandish is a puzzle rpg
