capitalism
>pumped out 6 near-identical Mega Mans on a single console
>boldest
they try new things and if they work they milk them as much as possible, just like every other vidya company. Not even a bad thing really, I'm looking forward to MM 12 and SF6. despite the million clones no one does it like them
RE4 and DMC3 were released neck to neck not to mention their Clover studios games. Those were some of the most legendary times.
Unfortunately no one bought clover games, that is why they got disbanded.
Making games like okami isn't cheap, sadly. Nowadays the market is thriving more than ever for those types of games but I can see why they would be scared about doing things like that
during gen 6 they
>made resident evil 4 one of the most influential games of the 3D era
>created monster hunter
>created devil may cry
>created ace attorney
>created a bunch of cult classics or great off the wall experiments like maximo, haunting grounds, godhand, viewtiful joe, okami, steel battalion etc etc
now they're just shitting out the same handful of sequels over and over and their new stuff is either vaporware like pragmata or who gives a shit tier like dinocrisis meets overwatch
not every gen is gonna be full of envelop pushing innovative risks, that's normal. especially with big changes in the economy and their staff. The world is fucked in general, but Japan in particular is not the anime paradise Ganker weebs think it is, it's been close to collapse for decades, just miraculously delaying the inevitable thanks to the central bank's trickery.
What was Capcom doing during the bubble burst? mostly shitting out MM after MM, and then doing contract work for Nintendo.
it's not normal it fucking sucks and isn't going to ever get better you stupid fucking chud
ok retard
>RE4R demo comes out
>it's good
>shitposters go into a desperate frenzy
love to see it
capcom is literally saving high budget videogames with re4r and people are going insane over it
this board is honestly too easy
I want them to make something like warframe or naraka with their ips
Just make Deep Down with other ip skin on it
Funny how Monster Hunter doesn't have a single remake, not even ports despite everyone wanting it, its like they have a completely different mindset with Monster Hunter
Ryuzu keeps the retards away since he's a nepo babby. But Rise was a major disappointment and Sunbreak just made it even worse.
>Funny how Monster Hunter doesn't have a single remake, not even ports despite everyone wanting it, its like they have a completely different mindset with Monster Hunter
That's because most "new entries" in the Monster Hunter franchise are essentially remakes. Let's be real. Most MH games are the same but with better graphics and some updated/new features. The first time Capcom tried to change more with MH was with World.
Holy fuck, what a zoomer take. The first time Capcom tried to change was with Dos. Everyone hated it, and the portable equivalent of Dos became the de-facto main MH game of its generation. Then try tried again with Tri, and everyone hated it so much that despite it being on the wii, it sold far than a third of Portable 2, and almost killed the franchise for good until Portable 3 came out and became the best selling MH game by just being a consistent experience with new monsters. MH3U, MH4 and MH4U were basically damage control on the failure that was tri and they dialed back on everything, adopting the portable formula as their core. And then came World, which was goyslop made to appeal to americans, and in fact sold extremely well in the west while being the worst selling MH game in japan since Dos LMFAO.
um.
every monster hunter is already a remake
When companies don't make games for Switch it makes them less bold. That's how you end up with Crapcom
You mean the PS2.
The last actual real console with proper unique technology.
Videogames peaked with late 90s Capcom
one day they'll be good again
Mid 2000s capcom was still pretty good.
Mid 2000s Capcom was literally the peak in terms of creativity and new ideas
>hey used to be some of the boldest, most innovative game publishers back in the days
As a very long time Capcom fan and amateur game historian I can't really agree with this opinion about the company. Capcom has been more of an iterative company than innovative.
90s Capcom was so brave and full of amazing concepts
Yes they were literally Ideas Guys going wild with everything.
Today, it's some suits that just green light Resident Evil, MH and nothing else but that. We can't even get DD2 without waiting a whole decade and then some.
The things RE Engine can do as far as high quality vs low performance demand are still witchcraft to me
Don't care still playing MH6 and DD2
This is current Crapcom, trannies approved
it's cool how even with ten pounds of makeup on he still looks like rick moranis in a wig
>What went wrong?
He left.
conman can go fuck himself like an anime fan on prom night
All I want is Onimusha and Dino Crisis to be revived.
tired of the same shit every year
>RE remake
>MonHun autism shit
>SF DLC
Why don't they make Zelda spinoffs any more
Nintendo poached the devs who made them
Even if I grant you the recycled IP stuff, there's no way in hell you actually believe that RE Engine is ugly or a bad engine. There's no way you're not trolling. RE 4 demo was one of the only games in recent memory to have well over 100 fps with raytracing turned on, almost every other game is unplayable with that shit turned on. The engine is literally black magic.
>there's no way in hell you actually believe that RE Engine is ugly or a bad engine.
The webm you posted supports my argument.
RE Engine destroyed Capcom. MT Framework presented better frame rates AND better visuals.
why does the top look blurry as fuck?
Captured from a youtube video.
>there's no way in hell you actually believe that RE Engine is ugly
the characters are significantly uglier than in older capcom games but that might just be their ethics department
They have the same problems that all big game developers/publishers have now, they have to appease investors and suits which means they can't just pump out small titles willy nilly anymore because it won't generate 100 billion dollars by tomorrow
I wish they would give breath of fire another go.
...you realize they put out 6 megaman games on a single console right?
kinda funny that people only say stuff like this now that RE4R has a demo
ExoPrimal is something bold and new, but it will bomb because modern gamers just want nostalgia and safe rehashes
